Yesterday at 6pm my husband and i were out back playing with our son when a strange man came into our back yard and approached us. He said he was from capital meats and had one case of meat left if we were interested. He was about 6'2" with dark hair. He spoke so quickly i almost didn't understand him. We felt very uncomfortable by his demeanor and as soon as we said no he bolted. When my husband followed him back around to the driveway he noticed another man running up our driveway. They got into a small red pick up truck with a white cooler attacthed in the back. They left the development immediately without stopping at any other house. We were still in the back yard looking at each other dumbfounded and they honked at us several times as they drove down conway, which butts up against our back yard.

I called our next door neighbor and she said one of the men came to her door during the same time and she thought it was very strange as well. I called the police and they were concerned. They sent an officer to the house and that officer told us that they were trying to locate the two men in the truck. He added that people are not allowed to solicit like that.

If only i had a picture of all the capital meat trucks at the methodone clinic in westminster, maryland. most of them are addicts and addicted to at least somehing. capital meats offers this high and profitable lifestyle for only selling meat which tends to attract lazy drug addicts looking for quick fix money. I've seen many of them rude and completely unprofessional only to make a sale. another not they should certainly stop letting drivers wear their own clothes. so many of them dress like trash and it just is completely appalling.

Once again everyone who works for Capital Meats is not shady, drug using thugs. I work for a different company now, but as in any business there are good and bad people. Now matter how much drug testiing or screening that's done, some people are still going to find a way around it. Also, these people could have just had a freezer in their truck selling a cheap product and saying they were with Capital. If you don't feel comfortable talking to someone or think they are on drugs use your own judgement, but don't judge everyone by your experience with one person. I am a 48 year old grandmother of 5 children and this is how I make my living, people like that make it hard on people like myself to do my job. Just like the customers, I meet some wonderful, friendly people, and to put it bluntly some uppity a******* who think they are better than everyone, and also people who are drugged or high. Either they are interested in my product or they're not for everyone who doesn't want to eat good and save money, theres someone else who does. God Bless America

I can not stand Capital meats. So far I have had a few encounters with their sales men. One sales man told me he needed to sell more box's of meat then his co workers to when a contest to go to Cancun. He begged me to buy some cases of meat from Him.

while we were talking he seen me take my medication and asked what is was. I replied its for anxiety and it's called xanex. He then offered to buy some of my medication. then he told me he likes heroin too

I actually bought some meat to get him out of my house. I was feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. it was just myself and my 3year old child at home. once he started to talk about drugs I looked at his eyes and realized he was high. I have a family member that uses and I know what it looks like. I felt unsafe with this high man in my home with me and my small child.

The other time I had the pleasure of dealing with capital meats was with their salesman who introduced himself as Dom. He asked me to buy cases of meat from him with my food stamp card so he could keep the cash he made on his other sales. That sounded kinda funny to me but I'm not sure perhaps that's the way it works at capital meats.

This guy drives around with his girlfriend in his work truck smoking marijuana and selling crack cocaine. At least that's what I concluded after seeing him in my neighborhood on more then one occasion. these other folks are dead on with the opinion that these guys all seem to be high. That's twice that I have dealt with capital meats salesmen and both times they were in fact on drugs.

I also googled this guy after managing to trick his full name out of I'm in casual conversation. You would be amazed what a credit card and computer can find out about people. What I found out was indeed more frightening then the obvious smell of marijuana coming from his van and on his clothing. You might wonder whats scarier then a high, crack dealing salesman? Well Ill tell you whats worse a convicted felon of attempt to murder. That's right you heard me correctly, Capital Meats is allowing drug addict convicted felons come to our homes around our family and children.

Funny how a sImple question like whats your name, you look so familiar, can leads you to way more then you expected.

Does capital meats have a drug testing policy? I should think they would be more careful who is driving their vehicles around. These guys are a danger out on the streets driving around high on god knows what. I think the big question is does Capital Meats screen or do background checks on any of their employees?

Capital meats also needs a better policy in place about these men being around children. I am sure the owners of capital meats would not want these high salesmen around their homes and their children.

It is my opinion that Capital Meats needs to be investigated and possibly shut down. If they cannot find better employees and actually hold up the guarantee on their product

Capital Meats is a big scam. I fell for it so its my fault. They said they were a "church going" and "God abiding" people. They sold me a freezer and packed it. What they didnt tell me is that I have to unpack the freezer and put all the food in freezer bags. I called and left messages to the office and sales person to complain.

They never returned my calls. The meat comes with a one year warranty for freezer burns but they never honored it. I lost near 75% of the meat. I just didnt have the to fight it. It would have been a long multi-year drawn out case.

I wish there was a better way to inform the public know about how awful this company really is - that they can lie to folks about their religion and honorable ways.

I was at my great grandmother's house when the same thing happened to me. One man rang the door bell and asked if we wanted any free steak or seafood and I told him that we do not eat meat but thank you. He hauled back to the red pickup truck with a white cooler in the back and didn't stop anywhere else. There was another taller man in the truck with him. They didn't have a front license plate. I also called the police and they patrolled the area after the incident. The meat men didn't say they were from Capital Meats, though. They said they were from Portsmouth, VA which Capital Meats doesn't have a distribution center there. I am wondering if they were really from Capital Meats or just claiming to be. I would think it would be displayed on their truck, but I did not see anything. And if they were from Portsmouth, then they would have to have a front license plate because it is required in VA. Has anyone found out any more information about these guys?

I just had an experience with a capital meats truck, and came on line to find a phone number to complain! I am shocked to see all the complaints! I found a man in our back yard, no where near our front door approaching my 7 yr old son. I was appauled t see this man there, as what on earth does a capital area meats man need with my son, is it common practice for them to approach little boys?
I can think of no reason for him to be there..I am interested in finding a phone number if anyone has one.
thanks

I sell meat door to door for a living. I had a huge business once not in meat sales. I was rich with 3 homes. I fell on hard times and had to file a bankruptcy. I am a Christian and find people like you and your husband appalling. I was good at sales and began selling meat door to door. I am not a pushy salesman & neither was yours. He could have saved you money on your groceries and provided very good meat if you cook it properly. My job is very enjoyable most of the time. I meet friendly people and pets, no heavy lifting. How would Jesus Christ welcome the baggy pants man? Like you did? call the cops on him. Maybe he fell on hard times to & has a family to feed like me. Also the grocery stores are overcharging. HE COULD have saved you money and made a good living for himself also. Be open minded & listen. Maybe your the stupid one and the way you dress & work could have looked funny to him. Good meat salemen make up to $2, 500 weekly and still save YOU money. Meat salesmen who grossly overcharge customers are also wrong. Does $3.00 to $5.00 per steak sound good to you? Grocery stores charge $6.00 to $16.00 per steak. God says to welcome strangers. Its the Christian way. Its the only way that makes any good sense. Also place a no soliciting sign if your that unfriendly. I dont knock on those peoples doors. They never save any money on anything, you lose because your not informed. I once saved people money on their utilities also. But you would have called the cops on me, YOU LOSE. Police warns us, we just leave. You pay more for your utilities & Groceries so keep a more fresh & open mind. Also I report neglect of animals & children. Someone has to help them, so God called me to do this job. PEOPLE JUST BE FRIENDLY, YOU MIGHT GAIN! Its also a way to tell people about God, but I only mention God & tell them welcome to your nearest church. I dont preach at them. Your salesman hurried off because sales is a numbers game. The more interested people the more sales, dont waste time. If you see a man with a freezer hes just working. LOOK at what hes got & what the price is, before you LOSE MONEY.
