Canteen Corrections / Terrible company

My son is an inmate at alameda county jail and the prices for commissary are extremely high. For instance, in Alameda county one comfort pack sells for 17.75 and in yolo sells for 16.75. I did a survey of other county jails that canteen correctional services delivers to and noticed that the majority of the inmates in those jails are caucasian. The prices defferentiate between each county by race. For example, Yolo county has a majority of caucasian inmates and they pay less for the same item than a county jail with more colored individuals such as alameda county. This is just one example of racial pricing which is common in canteen correctional services food distribution.

Commissary is bagged off site and HAND delivered to the inmate. How much do you pay to have something delivered to your house? Pricing is based on shipping costs and negotiated pricing on contract.

It has nothing to do with race idiot. And we all are having to pay for him being in jail. Thank god he has to pay for something.

I'm more interested in how the survey was conducted. Its not like you can walk into a bunch of jails and check out the commissary prices firsthand.

But if whites are being charged more than blacks, that would be considered discriminatory, yes.
