Canadian Tire bad customer service and poor management skill

This refers to a gas promotion at Canadian Tire gas bar #1327 on June 13, 2018. I took advantage of the coupon which also had car wash sales ( 2 for $10 for Ultimate package). I purchased two car washes and was given receipts for the car washes which expires on Sept 11, 2018.
Yesterday I drove into the car wash and punched in the code 76604 on my receipt. I was not let through and was told that the code has already been used on July 19, 2018. On inquiry with the staff I was told that the computer records show that the code has been used. I asked to see the manager of the gasbar .
The manager had the same comments to tell me inspite of my insisting that my car has not been washed because my daughter got married on July 14 and we were out of town and could not possibly have gone through the carwash. There was a lot of heated words exchanged between the manager and me who was not willing to believe me but instead threatened that the computer records were final.
Since it was a promotion day and a lot of customers, the manager finally gave me a rewash receipt. The matter was settled but not to my satisfaction. I told the manager that the computer was accessible from his end and not me. Also, it was a second time this has happened to me. The first time it happened a year ago and my code was used, but giving way to a doubt I purchased a new carwash. But this time, nobody had access to the carwash receipt or code or the car, so I was definite there was something wrong and emphatically denied the manager's claim. Finally I was told by the manager that he is going in a loss for giving an additional car wash and do not buy car wash from this gasbar again. (which is fine by me, he loses a customer)
What a good management would do is take a broader view of the customer's complaint. I do believe that there are tricksters but not all customers are thieves, as I was presumably made to be. Your systems has so many faults which can lead to this situation such as:
1. Somebody could have accidently struck upon my code when keying in their
code.
2. Your computer is accessible by your employees and they have access to the
codes issued.
3. Your computer could be hacked and the codes retrieved.

The solution to this problem is simple. This service is prepaid by the customer. Instead of issuing a code in advance, just issue a payment receipt for the car wash at the promotion time, which the customer would bring at the time he needs a car wash, pay for the service at which time he is issued a code and he can go through the car wash without any hassle. I understand that this would inconvenience the customer a little but it would go a long way to overcome the trouble I went through two times for the car washes. If further security is required, then the coded car wash receipt could be stamped "car washed" after the service is done to completely seal the transaction, which was done in my case yesterday. That receipt cannot be reused due to the stamp.

I was told that no other customer has lodged a complaint such as mine, for which I have no means of verification but the matter is that my complaint is genuine and needs to be looked into at a higher level because the manager has closed the subject by giving me a replacement carwash.

Please look into this matter seriously before more cases similar to mine arise.

Thank you

Canadian Tire over all service

Needed a tire valve replaced as it had rusted through over the years of winter conditions. The appointment was supposed to be approx one hour. 3 hours later I was informed by one of the female staff that she had not put my order through yet and it would take at least another two hours, at least. Cost 62, 37.

Had to go back the next week as another wheel had the same problem. However, they said it also needed a new TMPS sensor. Total 168.48. The female staff member stated she should have charged me the 168.48 the 1st time as well even though there was no TMPS valve replaced.

Prior to the above, I had our vehicle in for an oil change and a front end alignment they said was required as the alignment was out. 282.64.

Finally, we had a check engine light come on. Back to the same Canadian Tire. The ran a diagnostic on the vehicle and said it was going to need approx$ 1, 000.00 in parts and repairs. We noted that when they backed the vehicle out of the garage the check engine light was still on. I queried the fact the light was still on as based on similar experiences in work vehicles I had driven for a past employer, the light should have been off that short distance. based on past experiences wherein the vehicles had major issues but the light still stayed off for a few days. This made me really question Canadian Tire.

I took the vehicle, a 2001 Mitsubishi RVR, to Midas and paid 1/2 the price for the same tests to have a 2nd opinion. Midas was able to do a reset and informed me to just monitor the situation but more than likely everything is okay. Canadian Tire insisted they reset the light and it needed costly repairs. Light is still off and vehicle as always is running fine.

I should note that every time Canadian Tire had my vehicle in they would run a complete check to add to the costs as opposed to reading the vehicle's history they had on file.

Bottom line, Canadain Tire has lost both my faith and any future business based on the staff, over pricing and trying to scam me for parts and repairs I did not need. I will never recommend them again.

Canadian Tire customer service desk

Around 1pm today, Aug 12/18 I called the Customer Service Desk at your Canadian Tire Store in Hanmer, ON. I ordered an item that had been on sale in the store, but no longer in stock. I 'believe' it was to be provided Aug 8th. As of yet, I heard nothing. So I just called to see if it had arrived yet. I gave the on floor worker all the info she needed. So the desk person, who seemed young and probably part time, asked for the product number, not even my name or what the product was. I said I was sorry, but I had no idea. Well, how was she supposed to give me ANY information then. Well I don't know, I said, can't you pull up my name or something. All she said was, NO. That was the end of her conversation. So I said my thanks and goodbye. I won't type what I called that girl in my head. So maybe my order is in, forgotten or delayed. I've just recently received a CT Mastercard as well. Maybe I jumped too soon at that as well.

Canadian Tire returning schwinn bike bag

Hello,

I was at Canadian Tire (4630 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1S 3V5) today, Saturday August 11th, 5:30 pm, to return an item in its original packing (see the bike bag in the picture). The strap that ties the bag to the bike carrier came off at the first use itself, which makes it completely useless for the purpose. Also it shows inferior quality for something which I paid $40. Hence I have lost my trust in the item.

There were only 1 employee, who seem to be overloaded, and working very slowly, though there were only 3 other customers ahead of us. So we still had to wait a full 30 mins. Finally my turn came and without even listening to my complaint or seeing the item she said she would only give replacement. When I said I do not want that item again, she refused again saying its not in original packing (see the picture which shows item in original packing on the Canadian Store counter) and I had bought it only August 8th. She went to get the manager. The manager Francis, seems mad at us even as he approached us. We doubt that the employee had already instigated the manager by saying some thing very negative about us. He was extremely rude and unfriendly and refused to take the return. He said he would gives only 2 options: replace the item or store credit. He was not willing to listen to us or explain to us why he would not refund our money. When we asked him in shock why, he said we raised our voices and we were abusive. He then pointed to the black and white notice taped the customer service desk (About customer abuse). We read it and asked him "What abuse?" To this I specifically asked him to explain the abuse. He said nothing. In fact he seemed to be at a loss of words. Again I asked clearly with other customers listening, " Did we hit you? To this, he said no. Then I asked, "Did we say we will hit you? To this again he answered "No" Then he claimed verbal abuse. To this I asked him to explain what he meant by verbal abuse. At this he told us to get out of the store. He vehemently pushed our items across the counter and told us in loud actions to get out, humiliating us in front of other customers. He refused to explain to us why he was refusing refund or why he was claiming abuse. We were clueless what to do with this useless item. We are respectful Canadian citizens and good local church members. This is our neighbourhood Canadian Tire store and we have been your clients since 2001. We do not accept the behaviour or attitude or negligence of your manager in this situation. Claiming abuse to shield himself and to avoid listening to our concern or explaining to us why he would not refund our money is not acceptable. Catching on the manager's attitude, the lady behind us got abusive and threw our bag on the floor, which seemed to make your manager happy. He came back at us and told us to get out and threatened us saying he would call the cops. Finally, fed up with whole situation, we stepped out into the parking, confused and beside our selves, when the manager came up behind us and took pictures of us on his cell phone. We felt utterly violated at this action. w/e fear he might use this on social media or other such sites to belittle us or cause emotional harm. We intend to report this unprofessional behaviour to the local police to initiate a full investigation into the matter. But first we want to hear from you and see if you stand by such attitude and behaviour. We knew Amit the previous manager who was friendly and extremely professional in all dealings. We are beyond shock at this service experience from Canadian Tire. We will wait to hear from you before we approach Ontario consumer complaint. No consumer should have to go through the trauma and abuse like what we endured today. Also to add insult to injury, when we got home, we found that the female employee did not even return our original receipt. Instead they gave the receipt of the customer who was in line ahead of us, returning T-fal item. That alone speaks volumes about the professionalism of your employees.
Hope to hear from you with a reasonable resolution.
Thank you.

Canadian Tire hoover fusion, customer service

I bough Hoover Fusion from store 00304 on January 6, 2018, the product storage is very small, vacuum power very week, I went to 00304 Aug 6th and asked them if I can exchange it with Dyson and pay the difference . The representative declined that and the only way it is to call Hoover . I called Hoover they asked for Receipt . I requested receipt print on the same day and I was promised for call back . No body called . I went back today to the store August 11th . They said ohh come back on Monday because we can not print it now .
As for Me if I went back to Costco they will just exchange for me and get the dyson .
And it took you guys more than 10 years to print receipt . So I will never buy single thing from Canadian tire any more .

Canadian Tire management, 441 gibb street, oshawa, ontario

My son worked at Canadian Tire for 10 years and I live next door and have been happily shopping at Canadian Tire for 30 years. I have nothing but fond memories. On April 21, 2017 a horrific incident happened just outside the front doors of this store. I was assaulted by a stranger who stalked me from the SuperStore next door who thought I disrespected him. He yelled into my face, grabbed with both hands by the my neck hard and shook me, I had 40 lbs of groceries over my shoulder at the time. I screamed for my life. I got away and got to the vestibule of Canadian Tire to call the police, where the man followed me in and tried to punch me, I had to throw myself backwards out of the way. The man proceeded through the store slandering me on his cell phone and taking my picture and laughing at me as he walked out. There were at least 20 eye- witnesses. One of the managers called 911 on my behalf. I spoke to 911 and they told me they would come to my home in 10 minutes. The 911 response never showed up. I had to call the police again the next day, they came to my home and threatened me. They refused to take my statement, and everything else. Within a week I developed a stiff neck and progressed to the back of my calf and lasted very painfully for 5 months. And I developed a severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to this day, over a year later. I was extremely ill since the assault. In short the police refused to answer any questions about the assault, after I made 11 official complaints and many more unofficial complaints. After a year of police not responding to my pleas, I approached Canadian Tire to look for the Truth.
I feel that the courts should handle this very severe issue. I was hoping on leaving Canadian Tire out of the picture, since I have no animosity towards CT. I approached the manager and I asked for his help on this issue, I was given some very negative responses, I don't understand this since there were eye-witnesses and video of the assault on store security cameras. I was told by police a year later that the police viewed the video. I never knew this. However, I found out by one honest police staff sergeant two weeks ago that they falsely accused me of instigating the assault! After more than a year I finally got an unbiased officer to tell a bit of the truth, the other police officers deliberately held any information from me in every possible way. I was also tipped off that the man who assaulted me is very close to the police in some way. I don't care, but it explains allot, but I am currently just trying to get this case to the courts. I approached the same store manager and he treated me worse this time. I was basically in tears since I thought the manager would help clear up any issues that occurred at Canadian Tire that the police refused to tell me. I just had a visit from the police (not so nice police) and they told me to stop harassing Canadian Tire and threatened to arrest me if I went back. WOW.
Then I talked to other police (friendly police) and urged me to find the truth, since they can't do anything, since they just told me the case was closed. I was thinking the case was still open until the assailant was caught and due process through the courts.
All I want is the truthful, cooperation about what happened at the Canadian Tire store that I don't know about. I didn't think I was out of line at all, considering the extreme torment I have gone through. There is a great Injustice going on here for sometime and I was sacrificed to keep a violent man from being accountable for his actions.
Thank You
Ronald William Kerkhoven

Canadian Tire canadian tire store at 2560 princess st. kingston

I have taken my vehicle to to Canadian tire in Kingston on three occasions to have a loud hum in the rear end looked at. The first time they replaced the front bearings and an oil change for $819.24, and the hum remained. The second visit said it was a problem with the rear drums and maybe the rear right bearing, coast for the drum clean, $ $238.23, the problem remained. On the third visit I thought it must be the rear bearing, so it was replaced plus an oil change for $602.28, and the hum remained. Total $1659.75, and the hum is only worse. Thanks Canadian. Are you going to do the right thing and fix my vehicle and not charge me? Most likely not!

Canadian Tire online order process

This morning, July 31 at 10:46 a.m., I placed an online order. I received one email stating that the order had been received but had not yet been processed shortly after I placed the order. In that email it indicated that I would receive another email when the order had been processed and was ready to be picked up. At 3:30 this afternoon, after trying to reach the online customer service unsuccessfully, I decided to visit the store and make the purchase myself. When I finally reached the online customer service just after 5 p.m. EST, to cancel my online order, I was told by the clerk that the order had been filled this morning at 11:46. Now I have been charged twice, because I didn't receive an email informing me that the order was ready to be picked up and I visited the store myself to buy and pay for the items. Now, to add further insult to injury, I am being told that it could take up to two weeks for the credit to show on my credit card statement. I used the online ordering for efficiency, so that I could come to customer service and pick up the goods and be in and out of the store quickly, as well as being assured that the items would be there. Because of Canadian Tire's poor communication, I have now bought the same items twice because CT couldn't email me that my order was ready. When by CT's own directions, the order was not ready (no email received), I visited the store to buy it myself, as I needed the items today. Now, I may not see the credit for the cancelled online order for two weeks. This is the kind of service you are offering your customers? I will think twice before giving my business to CT again. I like to try and support Canadian business, but stupidity like this makes it very hard.

Canadian Tire pressure washing machine

Merci

Canadian Tire incorrect diagnosis among other issues related to my car not getting repaired

Last Friday afternoon my wife informed me that the car was making a funny noise. I gave a listen and figured I should get it checked out. I figured the only place in town that might have a mechanic on would be Canadian Tire. I called the Alliston store and was told that there were no mechanics in but I could book the car in for Saturday. I did. On Saturday when I went to drop the car off the Service advisor turned me away because they were too busy to look at my car.
I was called back a half hour later with a message that they could look at my car. I returned to the service counter and let them diagnose the issue. I was told that it was a tensioner pulley and belt. The parts needed to be ordered and I shouldn't drive the car far. The parts would be in the next morning and they could work on my car on the Monday. We booked the car in for the Monday. On Monday I left the car at Canadian Tire and walked home. After getting home I received a phone call that the parts had not arrived. I could pay extra for them to get the parts from another source or wait till 3 for the next delivery of parts. I opted to wait. At 5:30 I called the store to see what was up with my car. I was told there was a misdiagnosis. The noise must be the AC condenser, they were putting my car back together I could come pick it up, I would not have to pay for the work done on my car that day. When I picked up my car I asked, "Is it safe to drive?" The girl at the counter did not know. After getting home my wife asked if I got my money back for the incorrect diagnosis, since I was still did not know for sure what was wrong with my car. I spent $67.78 on diagnosis (Invoice [protected]) and I don't know if my car is safe to drive. If this could be returned I would appreciate it.
I will get the answer to my question somewhere, but it won't be at a Canadian Tire.

Canadian Tire managers abuse of power

I work at the store as a cashier, I'm browsing, asking questions about products and am not on the clock, and I get told I'm being distracting by my manger Angela and get asked to leave the department I'm in, so I move to the auto department to look at some new floor mats, next thing I know I'm getting called down to customer service because the very busy manager complained about me. I got told if I came in to browse again I would be ban from the store outside of my working hours, I think this is absolutely ridiculous not to mention humiliating, we have no HR rep and no one to talk to about stuff like this either.

Canadian Tire online tire order

I ordered 4 GT Grabber tires online for my truck for an all in total of $726.77, got my confirmation that they were ready for pickup so I went in today with my online confirmation to pick them up. The girl put the order in the computer and told me I owed them $227 extra! I was stunned...my order was processed online and the Belleville store wanted more? Her manager, who was terribly rude (I had to tell her not to speak to me in that tone), after I refused to pay more than my online confirmation (I wouldn't have ordered then for more...they were on sale online for 25% off) and then had the audacity to tell me the same tire were on sale today for approx. $20 more than the 726.77 and when I said then why was she asking for $227 she couldn't answer. I told her I was demanding they honour the online confirmation she told me to come back Monday when the boss was back. I got so mad and told her I wanted the tires I ordered for the online price I bought them for and she disappeared for a time and came back and said another manager said to give them to me for the online price, like they were doing me a favour! So beware if you order anything online that the price you agreed to pay online might be different when you pick it up. Unbelievable! Service is so bad, they've just lost a customer. Also, a month ago the service dept wanted $700 to fix a stuck cable telling me that they'd have to remove the rear axle to get at it. I took my truck out of there and to a local guy who fixed the problem for $30.00! CAnadian tire has lost another customer. I'm closing my cards with them and I'll never darken their door again.Im making this complaint but I seriously doubt anyone from the company will respond.

Canadian Tire car repair

Most Machanic's who work in Canadian tire have no experience in repairing cars. They took my $1, 268.00. They said if any problem comes up I take back the car. I drove the car for one hour and the car shut down in the middle of the road yet they said everything was fine. They refused to fix my car again when I took it back yet they took all my money. I called the customer service of Canadian tire, to send my complaint. And the guy I was talking to just switched me off after letting me explain my complaint to him. They are so heartless. And wants to just take people's money. Expensive for nothing. I recommend any one not to waste ur money taking ur car to Canadian tire because they are not trustworthy. They are not honest. Canadian Tire uncaring about access, human rights

My pet allergies have gone supernova and I have found after finally getting to see an allergist that pet dander remains in the air in an indoor space that the animal has been for about 6 months after the animals departure and that a lot of people are getting sick - many do not know why although we are all paying for it through OHIP. Any one with any type of allergy is waiting much longer to consult with an allergist because of the increase in numbers of pets being brought into indoor spaces where they were previously not allowed.

There is a big sign in the window as one enters the Ottawa st. store in Kitchener announcing that it is pet friendly - so I went back to my car to put on my (really uncomfortable) hepa respirator. As i was leaving the store I thought I would do my due diligence and asked to speak to one of the store managers. I thought I would just let them know.

The managers were unavailable but a supervisor came out. I gestured her out of the store so I could get the mask off. I explained why i was wearing it and told her about the persistence of dander and that people like me could be made ill. She said pets were invited in to discourage people from leaving their pets in the car. I asked if the company might not consider providing a sheltered outdoor area near the entrance where people could leave their dogs. She said this was not possible but blithered a bit about the reason - I did not catch one. We were both very pleasant to each other the whole time and she remained quite pleasant when I asked her if CT would rather have dogs in the store than people like me and she replied "yes". When I asked her if she had ever heard of the Human Right Commission - she smiled and said "yes".

I went home shaken and crying. I posted the above on their face book page suggesting that individuals with severe pet allergies or any allergies avoid of boycott the store.
