Camping World service department

My name is Kevin Richards and my wife Vicki purchased a new 2016 Forest River Class C 3051S motor home from Camping World in Hanover PA. after having it for a few months our in dash radio/ nav/ dvd player would cut in and out so we called to set up an appointment to have it repaired. Now my wife and I both work and Hanover is about 1-1/2 hours from our home. So we both had to take off work to deliver our rig to you to repair it. After not hearing anything for almost two weeks we called and found out that just days ago it was pulled in to look at. At that point it was confirmed that unit was damaged and a new one would be ordered. This could take up to 4 weeks to get in. So we just bought a new motor home and cant use it because of a warranty issue. We were also told that we could pick up our rig and use it untill the new parts come in. Lets think this through that would be 3 more days of my wife and i taking off work to get it and drop off again when the parts come in. So in reality in the first 6 months we have this you have it fo two months. oh well things happen move on.

Now for the real unhappiness

In June of 2017 we are getting ready to head to Maine for a 10 day trip. As we pull out of our home we start getting wet as our bunk over the cab is pouring water out all over the driver /passenger areas. so as we are driving my wife is dabbing water up with towels. When we get to our destination Which because of this was not that enjoyable of a journey. We set up removed the mattress put two small fans on the bunk area and the mattress. We make the best of our Maine trip and head home. After we are home we call Camping World in Harrisburg PA because of the last time the Harrisburg location is only 50 minutes for us.We are told that they are so busy that they can not get us in until early September. which we agreed to. One week before we are to take it for repair we see that Hersey camping show is going so we head there. While there we meet up with a Eastern region Forest River rep. We tell him our dilemma. And he tells us that this leak can come from either the window being installed wrong or something with the sealant at the clearance lights. Either way Forest River will good will the repair to us. So the next week I investigate and actually see where the water is coming in at the window and I duct tape the whole window to protect it from any further damage. now knowing that the repair could take weeks I call and bump our appointment until 11/3/17 because we didn't want to miss September and October which are prime camping months.

Now we bring our motor home to Harrisburg on 11/3/17 per our appointment and tell your service manager everything that has happened just as i have written to you. 6 weeks go by we hear nothing. I call to find out how its going thinking we should be able to pick it up soon. The reply i get is the parts were ordered 12/4/17. My unit has been there for 1 month and then the parts are ordered?(FIRST PROBLEM) Okay so i now check in two weeks later and get no parts have come in yet. I keep checking in to hear the same reply. Fast forward to 1/7/18 we decide to stop in to talk to someone about this. But first i go in the back lot to see where my motor home is being stored and see the tape has been removed and no plastic or tarp over the leak area? (SECOND PROBLEM). We then proceed to go in to talk to our service manager who is off that day. We ask if there is anyone we can talk to about our parts and we are directed to The warranty parts person. who was as helpful as she could be. She confirmed that the parts were indeed ordered on 12/4/17 gave us the PO number. We already had the Forest River Warranty rep number to call but she said that Forest River takes a long holiday break and probably wouldn't be back until mid week. I'm sure this is not the first holiday season you have been through with Forest River and Parts. I too deal with pre engineered building manufacturers that have extended holiday breaks. And we know when the cut off dates are so we can get orders in by so we can keep our customers in the loop to avoid situations like this.(THIRD PROBLEM).

On 1/13/18 we went to the Allentown PA rv show and spoke with a Forest River Rep who apologized for the parts delay. He took down our number and said he would look into our parts. on 1/15/18 my wife received a call that our parts were shipped and should be in Harrisburg by 1/16/18. But no one ordered a new mattress. When we questioned the service manager about this he said OH you want a new one. (FORTH PROBLEM) (Really). On 1/16/18 we received a call for your parts girl saying our parts came in. Then on 1/18/18 the service manager calls and tells us that the parts came in. Oddly enough there desks are less then 20' apart and it takes 2 days to travel that far? Now its Monday 1/22/18 one week since the parts came in and we get a call telling us they started working on our unit and found more damage that will need more parts. (FIFTH PROBLEM) I nearly lost it. You mean to tell me in the month of November that it was sitting up there and with the detailed explanation on what was happening This is where we are? Now that we are to today and you have been paid in full for this unit and i am paying monthly payments, insurance and also having my motor home depreciate faster than it would being on your lot getting snowed on every week and not in my back yard where it would be covered all winter including the tires. Not to mention not knowing when we will get it back! I do know that we are booked for a trip in the end of March. At this rate even that is questionable. As far as I'm concerned you struck out a few problems back. Now is the time to maybe salvage what is left of a very damaged customer relationship. Also I expect the repair to look like a new unit. If not I will not except it and I don't think either one of us wants to see what step would be next. I trust you will do the right thing.

Camping World myrtle beach camping world

We bought a camper from camping world in Jan of 2018, find out 2 days later it has a leak. This was a brand new PUMA camper. We take it over to the camping world, they said they couldn't look at it. So we take it to your local camping world in Fayetteville nc. They don't want to touch it, so myrtle beach came got the camper, had it over a month. WE thought I was fixed, took it camping only to have the same problem again. They sent out a service man, he told us it had to go back to the shop. He said the underbelly was never even cut open to fix a leak the first time. That piled on with the face it was NOT fully equipped when we first took it home (missing drain valves and correct fuses) they now have it again. We have paid 3 payments and have not even had it in our possession more than 2 consecutive weeks.

Camping World 2016 prowler

Me and my wife bought a camper last year from the beginning our experience was horrible should of left an went somewhere else. Our sales person was an [censor] we picked out our camper had to wait an hour before we could talk to financial lady and she had no clue we were waiting hence our sales person [censor] he never told her. Second we were told we could do a walk thru to het told how things work never happened we were told our tip out leaks. Well that's not the only issue we had with it. Don't get me wrong we love our camper just wished they did not sabotage it before we bought it. Had a mechanic who works on campers come and fix all issues to it because camping world never would send any one to fix them the total it cost me was 800 dollars. He informed the adjusting bolts on our tip out were moved from factory settings our door locks were put in wrong which caused them to fall apart our roof top air unit was loose due to bolts being loosened and to top it off our dining room table and chairs were not secured when it was delivered hence they were damaged. When the guy delivering it brought it to our camp site I told him to unhitch it because our landlord was going to put it in our camp site I thought he would have enough common cense to chalk the tires wrong I walked to get my gloves from my truck I turned around he dropped it on the ground it rolled approx. 5 feet before stopping in grass. All he could say is my bad I was soo pissed even when I called camping world to complaint they said it was not their fault. When I spoke to my mechanic who worked on it about all the issues he says it is common practice for camping world to loosing bolts on items and not secure furniture down so they can charge the customer additional charges for fixing them that is why he quit them he said it is morally wrong. I have sent in letters emails and phone calls to who ever I can at camping world and all they can tell me is I am wrong and they would never do this if that is the case why in the past year we have spoken to at least 10 other people who went through same issues we did. At this point all I was wanting was to be paid back for money I spent on items that should have been covered on warrenty even tho I sent in copies of bills I never even got a letter as to why this happened. Plus it was so bad my land lord turned them into the better business bureau so my advice for all wh read this run never buy a camper from camping world!

Camping World unresponsive! customer service errors unresolved!

Mcgeorge's rv aston va is unresponsive to customer issues. To our delight we were able to negotiate a trade deal for a 2018 rv in aug 2017. Though I can barely remember the name 'forest river sunseeker'. We placed the order and took delivery in oct. There were delivery issues but negotiating with the dealer to resolve we were instructed to use the rv and return it in dec 2017 for the repairs needed. We returned the rv in dec 2017 as directed but in the meantime, while we had the rv, we never received the title information or tags. We found out that the title information was sent to our 2nd home in fl. We live and our mailing address is in va. The dealership knew the rv would be titled in fl and that we live in va. However, in no discussion was there any indication that the information would be sent to our fl address. No one lives in the fl house as it is solely a vacation home. Subsequently, I asked my neighbor to look and discovered the information was there in the fl house mail box. I had my neighbor retrieve the documentation and forward it to me at my expense. The documentation was set up as if I would file for title and registration (for my new rv) within 30 days... Long passed to the fl dmv. With this information back in my possession, in va, I engaged mcgeorge's rv and only after repeatedly calling, leaving message after message, and emailing for almost a month I receive an email from the finance manager/person saying they would rebuild the title information and return it to us to send to the fl dmv. This would be fine except no information has arrive here in va.in addition what was the $300 fee to register I was have to file it myself. It has been two weeks since hearing from the finance manager at mcgeorge's rv. No information has arrived. Having called (leaving messages) and emailing the finance manager john sebastian-moore to ask about the documentation I have no response. Every time I call the dealership about anything no one returns my call and no one answers email. I fear they have sent this documentation back to my fl address which, again, is not my mailing address. We have repeatedly given them the correct mailing address on numerous occasions.in addition; we received a notice from the bank who financed the rv about the title and I have referred them to the dealership finance manager. By the way; though I am a bit annoyed I would not categorize this as your name for this venue indicates. However, my "untitled, unregistered rv is sitting at a dealership, mcgeorge's rv center, who's admin staff is totally unresponsive to customers after the sale. If possible could someone help us with this title situation at mcgeorge's?

Camping World service contract

My parents purchased an extended warranty on their 30' motorhome. The slides weren't working right and the warranty was expiring in 3 days, so they set an appointment for repairs in the Memphis area store. They took it in and explained they are not near their home in Texarkana. They are 78 and 76 years old. The shop told them it would take a few days. It's been there since Monday the 26th of February; today is March 3. The warranty expired on 03/01/18. The shop hasn't touched it and now they're facing having to pay out of pocket for the expense of having it serviced elsewhere as they are living on a limited income now and can't afford to stay away from their home. I feel Camping World has deliberately put them off, has not tried to do the repairs, and is deliberately mistreated senior citizens who have spent much money with this company since they've been RV'ers since I was 8 (and I'm 56). I'm angry and this experience will be reported on social media. I expect someone to fix this problem and even reimburse their expenses.

Camping World thor motorcoach four winds 30d

Dan~~
I found the text letting you know we had just purchased a brand new Thor Motorcoach. When we started motorhome shopping, we knew Camping World had a huge inventory. When I called, you seemed perturbed by my call. We started shopping again. This time we found the perfect Thor Motorcoach. The salesperson on the phone was enthusiastic about showing us the vehicle. We made a date to see it. Bought it that day. The entire staff congratulated us on our purchase. We were never brushed off or made to feel rushed.
I must say that Camping World has comments that made us leary.
A colleague of yours did reach out to see if she could help us in our search. I explained to her the situation. This contact came over a week after I spoke to you.
I travel the country and will be shouting out the great service we received from the RV dealer.
Apparently Camping World wasn't interested in acquiring a new loyal customer.
Cheri

Camping World side refrigerator vent cover on mallard m32

On September 4th of 2017 I purchased my Mallard M32 from Camping World of Toledo, located in Rossford Ohio. While bringing my camper home one of the side vents fell/was blown off. I took a picture as soon as I got home and noticed what had happened and sent it to Wesley Esquivel, who had been the sales associate for my camper. He told me that if I should ever have any issues to just contact him directly, which I had done. He immediately pawned me off to the parts and service department. I have been dealing with Nicole Ryan for the last five months with a string of emails to prove it. First of all the response I receive from Nicole is awful. Two weeks (January 16th) ago I had sent her an email asking where the cover was as she told me it was being ordered and I hadn't received it after a month and a half. She said she needed to talk with her parts department and that she would get back with me that day or the following Monday. Today (February 2nd) I sent her another email because she had not replied with a follow up. Well today the parts manager is not in, so maybe Monday I might hear something, but I certainly am not counting on it. It has been 5 months since the date of this issue and still no resolution. At this point I would love to bring the camper back for a complete refund of principal and interest. If this is how you treat your customers I want no part of Camping World going forward. I paid a lot of money for this camper and deserve better. I guess I should have listened to everyone that said not to go to Camping World.

Camping World general manager

We went to the Byram Mississippi location to purchase a new Motorhome Until we heard the way the general manager spoke to his employees and how the other managers were carrying on with him. Mr. Brown was out of line almost to the point to where he was bullying an employee. I have never been more embarrassed for this company than I am today. My husband and I have been doing business here for several years and we will never come back. We will spread the word to all of our local friends to NOT do business at this location. My husband said Mr. Brown does this quite often along with his service manager I find it to be a disgrace and we will not return until it has been corrected.

Camping World columbia sc confusing/ambiguous sales tactics

Purchased a 2017 Jayco on 10/5/17 Was told dealer would purchase license plate, however turned out was for a temporary plate. We were unpleasantly surprised by a notice from our local county DMV stating "DMV RECORDS INDICATE THAT THIS IS A NEW DEALER TAG. COUNTY PROPERTY TAXES WERE NOT PAID BY THE DEALER". This was NOT properly communicated by the sales person at the time of sale. When I called to ask about this, the finance person, I believe by the name of "Penny" answered on speaker phone. Her demeanor was lacking both professionalism and basic customer service, which was rather insulting after making such a large purchase ($58, 000). Our experience with this dealership compared to our other purchases was well below what it should be. On the flipside, the current Manager did help us handle the issues on the camper (that were not initially delivered as promised).

Camping World paying for a repair on a refrigerator and told it was fixed when I wasn't and didn't correct my issue.

I was having trouble with my 3.0 Norcold 2 way refrigerator staying ignited when running on propane. My refrigerator was 16 years old and when I called Camping World in September 2017and spoke with Eric Gray service assistant about my issue I asked if we should just purchase a new one and he advised to bring it in and let them check it out. I took my trailer in and was called the next day (9/20/2017) and advised the unit had been fixed and was totally functional. I went the same day and paid a bill of $657.73 and took my unit home. One week later as I departed on my trip I ignited my refrigerator, it lit and off I went. I stop several times enroute and upon entering my trailer I found the refrigerator had gone out. I lit it again and continued on my trip only to find the refrigerator continued to go out. I made it through my trip and when I returned home I parked my unit to go on a business trip. When I returned I called the Colfax NC Camping World and spoke with Eric again to inform him the refrigerator was doing the exact same thing as before. He asked that I bring it in and let them do a check up and see what was going on. My trailer was kept for over 4 weeks and during that time I was called and told it wasn't the refrigerator but a problem in the gas line, also needed a new regulator, they replaced the regulator and continued to monitor the unit. After 4 weeks I was told the unit was shot and needed a new one. I asked why I had paid almost $700.00 and was told it was fixed to now finding out it wasn't fixed and couldn't be fixed. I let them order a new unit and picked up my trailer today after paying an additional $1169.45 + $112.35 for the regulator.
I feel like I should receive a refund of the $657.73 because I paid for a repair that did not fix the problem. I don't mind paying for service and repair that works but don't feel this was correct. Again, I was told the issue was fixed the first time, but it wasn't. I paid $657.73 to Camping World for nothing!

Camping World warranty service

They will not stand behind their work. I bought a very nice camper and they did 3 things to it before I took possession of it. 2 of the 3 have had issues within 4 months and they will not fix it. They say they have a 12 month warranty on all of their work, but good luck. I wouldo never recommend them. The good ol days of taking care of your customers and making sure you get repeat business has been taken over by the corporate world (camping world) mentality of "let's do things as cheap as possible and get as much money as we can today so that our numbers for the month are good".

Camping World travel trailer

I bought my camper trailer from Camping World, Oakwood, GA on Sept 14, 2017 and today is Jan 5, 2018. I still did not get my tag for the trailer. I called so many times and left 6 voicemails for the clerk, but she nor anyone else has yet to call me back. I went to Camping World office and told the receptionist that I needed to talk to the clerk. Ignoring my request, the receptionist refused to direct me to the lady clerk. I told the receptionist that I have called so many times and left messages and have not received any calls back and that I needed to talk to her make sure my tag is processing but she still didn't let me see the clerk, no matter what I said. She told me that my tag is in the county tag office and I just needed to call or go to the county tag office. I called the tag office, they said they never seen my trailer tag in the system. I called Camping World again and the lady hung up the phone call on me multiple times. I left a voicemail to her that I will complaint to consumer complaint website. I hope that they will response back soon. This is unacceptable and this is not being professional. I demand that upper management call me back.

Camping World freezing fifth wheel

I have now waited months for a call back about my fifthwheel heater. I have been promised a call with a solution several times but they still have failed to follow through. My heat never worked and they have yet to find a solution for me. It will be in the 20s and we and our dogs will be left in freezing temperatures with no heat. I strongly urge you to avoid this store as they will sell you products that don't work and then disregard your requests for help and will leave you stranded. Terrible terrible service. So many other service issues, but leaving us in freezing temperatures without even a phone call for months is beyond heartless. We will struggle through the night but I really hope my tiny 17 year old poodle survives it.

Camping World product/service

Bought a 2017, Mallard by Heartland from Camping World, in Oxford AL. Had three different window leaks that were never sealed from the manufacturing company. Also the pipes from fresh water tank was never connected by company. This caused water to run inside the camper from the outside vent, and rotted the master bedroom floor and wall. The leak wasn't noticed because it was leaking under the step in the bedroom. When I returned it to Camper World on December 27, 2017, they only stated it's not their problem, it's Heartland. Camper World stated they would submit the issues to Heartland and if accepted Camper World would fix the leaks. I stated what about mold, he stated no he don't fix mold issues plus you shouldn't have any. As I inspected the Camper I noticed all seals around the doors and around the camper were only half sealed. I'm very dissatisfied with Camper World selling these campers knowing how poorly their assembled. And the fact that they wash their hands of the problems and place it on Heartland. The Service Manager was very disrespectful, acted like he didn't have the time. Never introduced himself, held his hand up before I could say one word, as he didn't want me to talk. I have never been treated so badly by a Manager.

Camping World 2018 coleman camper

Spent $25K on a brand new Coleman camper. The bumper was damaged, and we assured it would be replaced ASAP. We were at the store for over 4 hours, waiting for our unit to be prepared, and as soon as we entered the camper, the electronics malfunctioned and we had to wait another hour while they replaced it. We have had the camper for 7 weeks and still no bumper, and when we call, no one has any idea where it is or how much longer it will be. We have used the unit IN OR DRIVEWAY for 8 nights, and the awning has 2 leaks, one of the shades is broken, a drawer is falling apart, the furnace rattles, and 2 wire harnesses have severe cuts in them. THEN they call me, not about the repairs, but to tell me they have given me the title to the wrong camper! I had to drive 45 minutes back to the store to bring them the wrong title and wait to get the right one back from DMV! I then emailed 2 weeks ago about the repairs, still no reply. I called today, and got an extremely rude person in parts and service on the phone. All we have gotten is a runaround after spending $25K cash at this place. I wish we had never dealt with this dealership, wish I had read the reviews first because they get ONE star on yelp!

Camping World service on new camper

Bought a new Mallard from camping world in Oakwood Georgia. They have had the camper since October it is December now. They keep saying they can't get the parts delivered. All this work is warranty work. I was told Saturday that all parts were finally in. Well, today they say a part was checked off but not received. No one wants to do there job. What do we need to do to get the work done. We bought it to use not to leave at the dealer.

Camping World 2016 heartland gateway fifth wheel

Camping World of Dothan Alabama had our 2016 Heartland Gateway fifth wheel for 9 months with a list of 20 things to repair. The major problems were not fixed just patched over. Over the patch we have mold and rotting wood. Customer service was awful. They would never call us back we had to call them several times in one day or several times in one week to get an update on the service to the RV. Now the warranty has expired while they were keeping it for 9 months. Camping World tells us that we have to get Heartland to pay for any repairs now. Heartland says since it was poor workmanship Camping World needs to pay for the repairs. Camping World refuses to make the repairs that they did poorly or just failed to do. Now we are in a bind with a camper that leaks and has mold. We are using it with small children while we look for a house in our new town. We are worried about their health.
