Took in my vehicle because it would not start. Thought it was the clutch interlock switch and had them install the part. They called and said it did not solve the problem so they did a diagnostic. Called and said it was likely the ignition switch. Called an hour latter and said that no, it was a pin on the steering column. They said I would need an entirely new steering column because they could not buy the part seperately. I went and looked it up online and found that it was the ignition actuator pin and that you could buy the part. I went and bought the part ($40.00 as opposed to the $175.00 for a whole steering column) and took it to them. The mechanic looked at it and said no that's not whats broken you need the whole steering column. I had to have the car towed to a different shop (I had driven to Calverts but they made it where I could not drive it out) and it was indeed the $40.00 part that was broken and it only took an hour to install. I called the general manager to demand a refund of my money and reimbursement for the towing fee and he has yet to get back to me. They lied to my face about what was wrong in the hopes of collecting $350.00 in labor for changing the entire steering column when the part and labor was only 146.25 This is fraud and deception.
