excesive charge and chrge for inexistent calls
I made two call from St. Barth's( Caribbean island belonging to France) on November 17th, 2010.
Both calls togeteher were less than two minutes and they were directed to romania. When I attempted the third call I was told by an operator that he can't bill my credit card and therefore I won't be able to make further phone calls using that card.
But surprise. Few days after I was charged on my card the amount of 175 euro( aprox. $220) for a total of four transactions, each of these being more than 40 euro. So four transactions for just two calls totaling two minutes( probably shouldn't be more than 10 euro if they charge 5 euro/minute).
This is the biggest theft I have ever experienced and I contacted the callinf.com for a refund but I will definetly make everything to sue them.
Do not ever use these public phoes. IT IS A HUGE SCAM.

excessive charges
On August 20 I made a phone call in the UK (from a public payphone in London) using my Visa Electron card. The call was to a UK mobile number, so it wasn't even an international call. I was not aware that the call was routed to a third party (i.e. to callinf.com). The charge of €9.01 for 1 or 2 minutes is greatly exaggerated.

On 16/12 I attempted to call a number in Antwerp (Belgium) from Schiphol airport in Netherlands. Later my parents told me they heard no ringing at all, even though it appeared to be ringing while I was making the call. Now on my visa statement I am being charged a total of 84, 07 USD for 3 failed calls! This is the most outrageous thing I ever experienced.
Same. Call from Brussels to a UK mobile (in the UK). Less than 2 minute phonecall, £12 charge. I have contacted Callinf to ask for a breakdown. I will post this breakdown on this website.
Excess Charged without consent
Called for a minute at Frankfurt Airport on 17th Feb 2010 to USA. The connection was operator assisted, at no time I was told about the applicable charges for the call or any other details.
Their website - www.callinf.com (mentioned on the Visa transaction charge details) provided the contact numbers. The gentleman informed of hefty connection fees and that the call was routed via satellite (again hefty call rate). There was no breakup available and also no explanation as to why the operator did not inform of such an expensive fees or this being an satellite call.
Have decided to logde a complaint with FCC and Visa Support, to ensure their practices are regulated.
The overall feeling is of being conned. I suggest people to avoid Credit card pay phones at Airports unless it is an emergency and be prepared for a bomb of a charge if called from.

I used a public telephone box in East Dean which did not accept cash. I had no option but to use a credit card via the number provided (for a call to a UK landline), which required operator assistance. No indication was given concerning the scale of charges that would be incurred. For a call of 5 or 6 minutes, my credit card has been charged the ridiculous amount of £30.60 ! Are BT complicit in this extortion ?
I used my credit card in a telephone box in Russel sqe London to call virgin media which lasted no longer than 8 mins. and I was charged 35 pounds and eighty pence for the call.

I am appalled by the exorbitant amount of money that has been charged to my credit card, while calling from Amsterdam (airport) to India and USA, the call was made on 12 Aug, so the credit card was charged on the same day but SURPRISINGLY there is charge made on 16th AUG for NO REASON.

Call them! The number in the USA is [protected]. Be nice, and they will help you. I was offered a 30% refund before I even asked for it, which brings the charges in line with what is expected for an international call. They made it sound as though this is only good for first-time customers (presumably, repeat users would already have noticed the fees charged to them, and have made a conscious decision to continue to use the service). Good luck, and don't use your credit card for a phone call again unless you have no choice!

I work with an IT company, and my blackberry is my lifeline. I cannot imagine travelling anywhere without access to my emails. So this June when I had to go to Singapore for work, I was hoping that my company would pay my phone bills, but they gave me a daily allowance, and I realized that I won’t be able to take my blackberry along as International roaming is so expensive. My colleague then told me about clay worldberry services (http://www.clay.co.in/worldberry.html). With their blackberry plan, which costs only Rs. 3, 500 per month, I was able to access emails, surf the web, check google maps, and do so much. And that too within my budget! My boss was very surprised when I replied to his email promptly and gave him important data in the middle of a meeting. My effort was highly appreciated and I got a raise also - and all this – thanks to Clay worldberry services.
If You are Looking for Cheap + International + Sim = Then go for clay telecom
“And to save over 70% on international roaming charges
