California Security Institute / ripping people off for 9 years

6399 Wilshire Blv. suite 919, Los Angeles, CA, United States Review updated:

Scam Scam Scam!!!

This company gets away with murder!

The way it works!

Vance Wharton dresses very proffesional and has a very clean image, however he is the ulitimate con artist. he promises to get you a job over the phone because he knows verbal agreements don't stand in court then he hires a sweet/pretty and proffessional looking receptionist to hand you a contract and train her to flip the contract to the last page and hand it to you. You sign the contract without reading it and in the contract it states that you will NOT get a job. He intentionally makes the contract long and hard to understand. You get a useless piece of paper (certificate) that they print out of their own computer. There are no refunds after that because you signed and in court only paper matters. Over the phone a very persuasive salesman will promise you a job within a week After that at least 3 other people will lead you to belive that you will get a job. They pray on the broke and uneducated who are desperate for jobs. His wife is just as evil, has a very sweet voice and handles all the females and promises them jobs. She's half his age and probably married him because his persuasiveness led her to believe he was wealthy. She spends all his money so he can never pay his empoyees which all end up getting screwed over also. He somehow managed to get this company to be a non profit so that he can cheat on taxes or be able to avoid being graded on the BBB. This man would screw over his own mother. STAY AWAY! IT'S A SHAME PEOPLE CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS IN AMERICA! he will promise you a job over and over then take your money and run. Legally you wont be able to do anything about it because he covers his own a** very well and is a master manipulator.

He will lie to your face repeatedly!! He's old so you would never believe that an old and sweet looking man would do that.

Everyone that goes throught that program wants their money back but doesn't get it. He will hang up on you when you try to speak up and ignore you until you get tired and go away.

HE WILL NOT LET ANYONE IN HIS JOKE OF A CLASS WITHOUT SIGNING A CONTRACT!! THIS IS BECAUSE HE KNOWS YOU WILL WANT YOUR MONEY BACK...

THIS IS A LEGAL SCAM AND HE HAS BEEN GETTING AWAY WITH IT FOR 9 YEARS!!

I would not recommend this to any one. I took this course and have yet to find a casino job or have a interview for that matter. If ' you want to get a security casino job don't attend this school and spend your hard earned money. It is really a waste of time'since you will have to attend another academy when and if you get hired by a casino. The Instructors say they know how to get you into a job, and that they have all these connections.I have yet to see one that will help you succeed in doing so. This is nothing but a big rip off. I feel i payed 800 dollars for nothing.

CSI or Cal West Security is a non-profit organization that trains people for a guard card and hotel security. The training is a joke. The promised job placement is even worse. They have been known to promise placement in a job at a four or five star hotel making approximately 40k within two weeks. It tends to be part of the sales pitch. They're lying through their teeth. How do I know this, I was their admin for three months in the beginning of 08. They will not give you a refund of any kind. The owner is beligerant as well as the most racially ignorant person I've ever met.

When you talk to them, they will make the world seem very rosy. When in class they will keep that tone going. Once you graduate and spend the next month looking for a job with no success, they will do little more than hand you a stack of "Hot Sheets" which are job postings they have stored up printed from yahoo jobs and craigslist.

My advice is to stay away from this place at all costs. LIE OF THE YEAR
