C.R. England Liars and Scammers

My father got employed with CR England back in Jun 2010, and it's been hell ever since with these people. Basically it started with a huge amount of lies and misleading information provided by Ryan Johnson, a driver manager for CR England in Utah. My mom was flying in for 3 months from Europe, and dad asked for 3 weeks off around begining of Oct or end of Sep, and they said no probelm...of course come that time, they said they couldnt do that, they gave him 3 days instead, and that messed everything up for me because i bought specific tickets for my mom, now i had to send her back to California where my dad lived so they can see each other for 3 days, a huge financial and family mess. Then, of course comes the money issue, he wasnt making crap with them, i constantly had to send him money for food and rent, basically so he can survive, and back in Nov he put his paperwoks to quit, and he was supposed to get a load back to Utah to drop off the truck and quit the company. Well it's Dec 22 now, and they keep sneding him back east and to Texas, and back east again, with ho intent from the company to send him to Utah and drop off the truck. They are a piece of crap, they are keeping him on the road to milk whatever they can out of him, and in the meanwhile, they keep telling him "we are working on it"...supposedly working on sending him back to Utah...well, today, Dec 22 they gave him another load back east. Needles to say he quit and the truck has been turned in to the CR England yard in Laredo. These people have no soul, they are scammers and liars, they dont understand when you treat a person like that, it affects his or her entire family and friends, and creating a whole set of issues for everyone, just so they can keep making money.

C.R. England Unethical Employment Practices

My name is Mike, I applied to C.R. England to get some OTR experience. I already had my class "A" with endorsements and wanted to get some OTR experience, well I put in an application with them and a recruiter called me back. she asked me some questions and asked what I wanted from C.R. England. I said I wanted to be a Company " SOLO" Driver and that I wanted to be trained for winter and mountain driving, she said that I would get what I wanted. She faxed me the application and included all the paper work. I filled it all out and sent it back to her. I was "ACCEPTED into their program and started the training at a "REDUCED FEE". Anyway, when I finished the class room and course work, it was made perfectly clear by no uncertain terms that as a student driver and trainee, I was "NOT" an Employee of C.R. England. well that was ok with me. I was just there for the experience. Well while I was out on the road with a trainer that onoly had 5 months of driving experience I soon found out that this guy wasnt making any money, he was a lease driver and was broke as hell he didnt have a C.B., phone or any money. I had to pay for his meals, showers and laundry, let him use my phone and pay for the toll roads. This guy was broke and had some seriously horrid oral hygene. I really felt sorry for him. i had also done some asking aroud at the truck stops about C.R. England and found out from company drivers and lease operators that England was not hiring anymore company drivers. i called the recruiter and asked if this was true she said it was infact true and appologized. she said if i wanted to drive for C.R. England i would have to lease a truck. well with all that said, i started to investigate the lease program and after doing the numbers with my step brother whom owns his own trucking company (woulda went to work for him but his insurance wouldnt carry me because i didnt have enough experience) and my step father we found out that C.R. England pays .90 cents a mile to lease operators well after tax, broker fees, pallet charges, insurance, licensing, fuel, permits and maintenance it was actually .035 cents a mile in your pocket. i just couldnt afford to do it. i opted out of the training at that point. mind you they said i was NOT an employee of C.R. England. Well i was on unemloyment throu this whole time. i didnt get paid as they said i would and wouldnt you know it when it came time to renew my unemployment and the unemployment agency contacts England, they say i was an employee. now my unemployment has been cancelled and they want me to pay back more that $12, 000.00 because i quit my job and because i was an employee of C.R. England i wasnt entitled to benefits. now im between a rock and a hard place. i am filling a legal complaint with the Attorney Generals office here in Las Vegas and we'll see where that goes. if any of you have a story similar to this maybe you can contact me and we can all get together and put a stop to this. You can call [protected] to respond to this.

Thanks.

Mike

C.R. England Bait and switch

I submitted an online application for employment on the C.R. England (CRE) website on May 16, 2009. I was contacted by Jennifer Skinner, Senior Recruiter, with a job offer on June 11, 2009. This offer included: (1) employment after completion of four days of orientation, and (2) ten days of driving with a trainer. I accepted the offer. She offered Greyhound bus transportation to their facility in Salt Lake City, UT. I opted to fly since the departure date was on Fathers Day and it was a 9½-hour bus ride from Reno to Salt Lake City. She said that CRE would reimburse me $100 of the plane fare.

I arrived in SLC on the afternoon of June 21st. The next day, Monday, I began their orientation. That afternoon I was called back into the recruiting office with the news that there was “a problem with my paperwork”. There, I was told that my driving experience was inadequate and that I’d have to attend their school for three weeks (the cost would be deducted from my future pay) and that I would have to spend 30 days on the road with a trainer (at a reduced rate of pay). (I’d had my CDL-A for four years). I refused and said that that wasn’t what Jennifer and I had agreed upon before I left Reno. I was met with silence and a stare.

Once back in my quarters, I called Jennifer and left a message that I was awaiting her direction as how I was to be getting back home. There was never a response from her so I made the arrangements for my return for the next day, June 23rd.

Once back in Reno, I emailed Jennifer and asked what arrangements I could make for CRE to reimburse me for the money I had spent. I heard back from her on the 24th. She stated, “I guess our compliance department saw your experience different than I did.” She also asked that I send her the plane receipts for my travel and she’d see what she could do. (I emailed those to her on the 25th.) Later, she wrote, “…we reimburse for travel once an applicant is hired, so I will see if I can get an exception made.” This reimbursement policy was never discussed beforehand.

I have not heard from her since. My last email was on a July 14th, in which I said that I had not heard from her.

I contend that CRE violated a verbal contract made between myself and their Senior Recruiter. I feel that they have a well-rehearsed ploy to get prospective employees to SLC and then, once there, change their offer of employment for financial gain. Once I refused their amended offer for additional schooling and training, I, and my former training and experience, were set aside and ignored. It was obvious to me that once I was no longer a source of monetary gain, I was on my own.

Since, I’ve spoken to other drivers and they’ve said that CRE “is good for that”. “They get you there and tell you have to go through their program if you want the job. It’s hard to refuse because you’re already there and you don’t want to leave and start over.”

After not hearing from them for a month or more I contacted a lawyer with my story. He said that he’d heard about this problem with C.R. England before. He said that what they are doing is called “bait and switch”. And, the best way to approach the problem is with a civil lawsuit. Anyone interested?

right on brother! i hope you're successful with your lawsuit. i just got off a truck for phase 1 training and i'm not going back! their trainers are not prepared to instruct. they have more personal problems then a manic depressive or a borderline personality. if they expect to be paid for this shoddy training they're in for a rude awakening!

C.R. England Unethical

Guess Many have learned that ENGLAND stands for Every New Guy Lasts About Ninety Days.

The way the Pay and Lease programs are structured, the company gets the work done, their trucks and fuel paid for by you and YOU get nothing! Unless you consider $100.65 for 2500 miles of driving a good pay!

Obama could use this program as a weight loss program by requiring overweight people to work for CR England! The entire family would be homeless and lose weight at the same time...Good benefits...HUH?

Thank you for providing me with information about this company, I just applied with them yesterday haven't gotten a call back from the recruiter yet. I will have a earful of ammo for him/her when they call back. I'm in the same situation as many of you, I've been laid off/underemployed and am trying to adequately support my family which has been almost impossible these days. I thought that trucking may be a way to earn a good living even though you sacrifice a lot of time with you family. It sounds like the England Co. is a group of scam artists who have figured out a Madoff -like scheme for the trucking industry. I'm glad to have read this info, because the employment situations I've been running into for the last few years are disheartening. If I was ###ed over by these people as many of you have been, I probably would be plotting to 'go postal' and raid the SLC offices to wipe out the entire staff and teach them a lesson. I'm not normally a violent person, but when you get ###ed over by someone or a company, it's game on for me. All rules get thrown out! I hope somebody finds a way to formally bone these sons of ### so that they get their's.

C.R. England stay away

C R England will soon be a trucking company of the past. No business can continue behaving like a criminal that steals and doesnt care who sees. They have stepped-up their abuse of their drivers as for as they can in every creative way one can imagine. When a company begins to use such methods, it is usually an indication that the company is experiencing difficult times. Desperate people do desperate things. Businesses are the same way. The best way to quickly put this company out of its misery is to stop their student/school programs from which they find new victims.

I went through there school in Salt Lake and the instructors and in truck trainers were all top notch the hard part was classes run from 6am to 6pm and some of the in truck training goes from 7am to 9pm and if you have not got a bed at the school then you will spend 1 to 2 hours waiting to get bussed to whatever motel they are sending you to and the same thing in the morning so the days are very loooooooong!
Where things get ### with them is when you have to go to the lease program class (which is just before you get assigned and meet your OTR trainer) and they try and sucker you into leasing a truck through their leasing company and here is where things take a turn for the bad if you turn down the opportunity to lease a truck!
What will happen when you turn down leasing a truck all of a sudden there either won't be any trucks available or your trainer that you are suppose to be with through the last of your training has gone MIA! At this point you are pretty much screwed if you are on short funds because the odds are you are going to be sitting for days and days, maybe even weeks and not making any money.
I did some checking into their lease deal and if you are single and have nothing keeping you from being away from home for 2 or 3 months at a stretch and don't have any bills to worry about then you could make decent money. This is what it cost roughly to lease one of there trucks, first is the mileage and other fees they charge which comes out to around 33 to 36 cents a mile, add in the insurance, depending on what state you live in will set you back at least $500 plus a week, fuel will cost ya around a $1000.00 week depending on how many miles you drive and company discounts
So as you can see you would have to run your backsides off to make any money leasing a truck through them so if you are thinking about going to CRE school make sure you tell your recruiter from the get go that you want to be a company driver and run solo and don't want anything to do with leasing a truck or running team or want a dedicated run and show up for class on time every day and keep you head down and stay away from all the ### you will have pretty good chance of finishing school and getting assigned a OTR trainer and out on a truck right away, just don't let them pressure you into leasing!, and remember you don't like what you see you can always tough it out til you get your CDL then ask to go home and change your CDL to your home state and not go back, you will have to repay the cost of training but it's cheaper than most truck schools

I'm here at C.R. England, and been here since Feb. 17, 2012. This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. The recruiters lied to me about the hotel rooms in Indiana, they don't feed you, they lie in orientation, and thru the IC department. I decided to come here as a company driver, but the lady from the lease dept. came in and hooked me. So now I'm a Lease Driver, IC, or just STUPID. I hear alot of drivers say how much they make here, but they all are trainers, which they forced me to do, without the gun to my head. I made two checks since I started here($20.33/$5.66)my lights have been cut offat my house, and I was told I can take money out of my MAINTENCE ACCOUNT if need to, when I tried, they told me only if I had over $3000.00 in it...I'm not getting the miles to do anything, I'm surviving off of $100 a week cash advance. If you decide to come over, stay away from Clarke Miller's board. One thing for sure, there are not that many good driving companies out here anymore. So we get what we ask for with out checking first.

I agree. The only way this company will continue is to change its name and business practices. The good name of C R England has been tarnished. Destroyed beyond repair. A few people within the company need to be excommunicated even if they might be family members or "brother/sister." If they do continue under current business practices, those gaurds at headquarters with the guns may actually see some action.

C.R. England Greed/Survival

There are several reasons for C. R. England behaving badly these days. You could actually make a good living at one time as a independent contractor/leasee with them. The greatest reason for them being so tight is the increased competition in difficult economic times. Loads are harder to find and it is sometimes necessary to take very tight loads. Ofcourse, it is the driver's fault if the load is late. You will be accused of poor trip planning, or you failed to notify your DM that there is bumper to bumper traffic in Chicago for several miles during peak hours that the load planners failed to consider. But, never turn down a load.
They have obtained loads heading east from Chicago for me several times. The required arrival time for the load means having to take an unapproved toll road ( no reimbursment for toll fees). I was basically working for free after deducting the incurred cost. Did I begin rejecting such loads? Ofcourse. I will not work for free but C.R. England will try to make you a virtual slave.
A lady in Portland, Oregon suffered a seizure and hit the side of my new 2010 Freightliner. There was atleast $1500 in damage. Without seeing the damage, I was told by the insurance obtained through C.R.England that the damage was less than $500 so it would be deducted from my maintainance fund. I was too broke to afford the downtime for repairs and have seen not one penny of my money in that fund ($3500). You will see little if any of that if you break the lease.
C.R. England basically encourages team driving which requires, in most cases, that you become a trainer. I played the game. Let me tell ya. Even though you may get lucky and get a good trainee, you dont he is exceptional for atleast the first week. Try sleeping well with one eye open while learning to trust your new 2nd seat. I will not elaborate about the horrifying experiences that did happen. Yes, I drove while being exceedingly tired for 10 hours.
C.R. England is so intent on squeezing all they can out of their drivers that they have lost sight of their primary mission. That mission is to deliver freight safely and on-time. Their new mission statement would be this:
To lease a truck to our students thru our leasing company and have them purchase our insurance
and work them just enough to barely get by until their loan is paid then starve them out and make
room for another student.
Many times my students made more than I.

When I began prior to signing a lease agreement, I figured on driving an average of 500 miles per day everyday. That is 3500 miles per week. Not a bad check even now. I sometimes would sit in a truck stop for two days waiting for a new load though plenty of hours were available. One week there were only 1800 miles driven and my settlement indicated a negative balance of 125 dollars to be deducted from the next settlement. Try and live on that.

C.R. England Overall terrible employers and here's why.

My boyfriend was just hired on with CRE in July of 2010. It has been nothing but hell ever since. He went to the school in Salt Lake City, and with previous driving history he was told that he would only have to attend the orientation and would then be placed on a truck with his phase II trainer. He liked his trainer as an individual person but didn't really feel that he was being taught anything; he felt that his trainer saw this as an opportunity to nap. In fact, he and the trainer both earned a MAJOR log violation because of an oversight on his trainer's part. We decided that the best course of action was for him to become an O/O for CRE and to lease a truck. WOW! Was that the wrong decision. His first week out, he drove 2713 miles and his check is a whopping $253.72. We knew going into it that there would be fees and fuel charges that we would be assessing by choosing the O/O option, we just didn't know the extent to which we would be charged. Today is day 3 (!) that he's been sitting in a yard in Texas. He is burning fuel (that we'll be charged for while he's sitting there not making any money) and has no next dispatch. His DM gave him a load to Jacksonville, FL (30 minutes from home) and then took it away with no explanation. He delivered his load to Texas on Friday at 0800 and was told that his next dispatch would come shortly. It never came. He messaged the DM AND the after hours employees to no avail. His DM went home to his family for the weekend and left his employee sitting at a loading dock in TX with no next dispatch. I am TERRIFIED that this is indicative of the most we can expect from CRE. We are absolutely disgusted with this company and come Monday morning they will probably have lost another driver. He is a hard worker who just wants to make money and provide for his family - but will not tolerate abuse by his employer. I researched this company before he signed the lease and I warned him of all the negative things I'd found. He believed in his heart that he was being told the truth by his trainers at orientation and felt that if he worked hard and proved himself to be a good employee, that he would be taken care of by CRE. Unfortunately he was wrong. I thought it was strange, also that at his orientation the trainers told all the new employees that the truck drivers that were at the office were either in trouble, or they were lazy and didn't want to work - is this any way to speak of your employees? This company has gotten one over on too many people - I would advise anyone to stay away from CR England.

I agree. It was necessary to break my lease and so turned the truck in the Irving, Texas yard. They still placed an abandonment on my record and took every penny of my maintainance fund. A lady suffered a siezure and hit the side of my tractor in Portland, Oregon. The insurance obtained through C. R. England stated that the damage was less than 500 so I would have to pay for the repaires out of my maintainance fund. The damage was atleast 1500 and they never even saw the damage. I was already about broke and couldnt afford the downtime to have it repaired.
C.r. England is so determined to rip off their drivers that they have lost site of their primary mission to move freight safely and ontime. They have focused on moving drivers out of the company so they can get another student into their leasing program. They fail to consider the costs of losing good drivers and returning parked tractors left by those drivers back into the hands of another driver/leasee with little or no experience. This also has an effect on the safety factor for the company through increased legal liability for accidents ie;roll overs, rear endings, etc. The trainer has difficulty sleeping when an inexperienced driver is at the wheel of his tractor. DOT states that while in the passenger seat, that time must be included as on-duty time. You just cant win. You cant rely on C.r. England to back you up and DOT is out to get you too.

C.R. England Lied to me about the lease and making money

I leased a truck from cr england thinking i was going to make money, they gave me the first two weeks without a truck payment but at the same time i did not make any miles those two weeks so i ended up going in the hole any way the third settelment i made around 300 dollars after they took what i owed them then went in the hole again, the best check i made with them was around 700 dollars but the rest of the time i was in the hole with them, my driver manager acted like he didnt care, he would hardley ever answer my questions on the computer and could never get him on the phone.cr england does not care about the drivers, all they care about is the money they can make, they are a bad company to work for, i was with them for 6 weeks and i quit.wiht the trucks goverened at 60 mph you cant make the miles you need to and with the electronic logs every time your sitting it will burn up your hours then they take the load from you and give it to a team which is a trainer and a student.they rip you off out of money and dont care, good luck to all the drivers that stay with them, i am no fool i left after 6 weeks before they really screwed me over, if your smart you will not go to work for the rotten crooks.

The ones that post the crap above are the folks who didn't pay attention during training and orientation. They tell you what to expect, those of you who listen to the other BS that the students are talking instead of your instructors, will be mislead and expect things you will not receive.

C.R. England Mislead me through orientation

I recently went through the Cr England orientation at Mira Loma California. I have 3 years experience and was sent there to be a company driver, and would have to team with someone. At the end of the orientation my partner and I were given instructions to take the bus to our home terminal in Salt Lake City Utah. I had to first go home and quit my current job in person to my manager who has been outstanding. My partner went straight to Utah. Upon arrival he was put in a bunk with 7 other drivers, and had to wait three more days until tuesday after memorial day. Right away they told him there were no company trucks available, and that the only way he could drive for CR England was to lease a truck. He did just that, at nearly 800 dollars a week between the payment and the insurance. The starting pay for lease drivers is 90 cents a mile and if you keep a 5.8 mile per gallon average on fuel, you only have to pay 1.25 per gallon. If you do the math here and include peanut butter and jelly 3 meals a day etc..., you need to pull an average of 400 miles a day just to make a couple of hundred dollars a week to send home to the family. He has been driving for a week now, and we were told the following tuesday would be pay day and a settlement statement would detail everything. It is wednesday right now and still not sign of anything. Also over the qualcomm system he has been trying to get his driver manager to send him to a repair shop to fix a belt tensioner that has been squeaking severely since day one, and if he doesn't get it fixed soon, it will turn into a 3 day job. So far he has only done short haul runs all week in California because he is a solo driver and has been running out of hours to go any farther. All the runs have been picking up a load, then having to exchange his load with another team sent to him that could go across the country. There are those that can make money, but you need to be a team and stay out on the road for a minimum of 3 weeks at a time, and that's if your DM gives you good runs. I really trusted the instructor at Mira Loma, and perhaps they just don't know what is going on above them. I never did get on that bus thank GOD. Good luck for those of you looking to make money to take care of your family. It can be done, but it will be a huge sacrifice and gamble to do so with Cr England.

I agree with the first comment, I leased for 3 months and turned it in.My mother was very ill and in the hospital in Pittsburgh Pa, I asked for time to visit, they agreed. So while in Pa, I called and asked for for more time, because according to my agreement they would put someone in the in the truck and keep it running. I was told that they could not because they had nobody in the area, then the next thing out of Bobs moth was that my truck was more important. My statement was that they can have the truck back, I took it to Indiana yard, payed my own way back home.Guess what they did after that, they reported to the credit bureau that I missed 3 payments.CR England lies and cant stand it when a good driver quits, these payments are deducted from your checks.I have now an attorney that is going to take this matter.I can say this DO NOT LEASE FROM CR ENGLAND

You are both full of doo-doo. First, the solo driver in first complaint shouldn't be trying to get his DM to send him to a repair shop. Had he paid attention during training/orientation he would know that you send a macro to the ROAD SERVICE DEPARTMENT...they take care of ALL repair work on ALL equipment be it leased, company or trailer. And his pay settlement can be retrieved from either the qcomm or the CRE website, if there was a problem, contact payroll and they will correct it without fail. Second complainer, you got dropped because of your accident, not because you refused to lease. And the recruiter WILL NOT tell you to lie about an accident of ANY size. They want honesty, they can work with honesty. They can recruite drivers with honesty. And just for the record, I didn't lease when I initially finished my training. And I am still employed with CRE, they didn't drop me. I am leasing now, have been for awhile and am making very good money as a trainer. You HAVE to pay attention and you have to accept loads you are given and you HAVE to pick up and deliver ON-TIME. I'm sure there have been some bad experiences w/ CRE...you get that with any company, but all this about lies, forcing females to go w/ male trainers, forcing leasing is ALL bullcrap and lies from the folks who are posting it.

I know what you are aying. I was just dropped from the course because I would not take the lease program. I went almost the whole 3 weeks and was dropped the Thursday before the test. My recruiter told me to lie at the school about a minor accident that I had while overseas. I was honest and told the school about it the first day off orientation. After consistantly refusing to show interest in the lease program, I was still hounded by one of the yard instuctors who tried to humiliate me in front of everybody. The fat sack of doo-doo was telling me that I did not know jack doodly-squat about how to drive a truck, but I have 16 years previous expirience overseas in Europe. My advice to all out there thinking about going to the CR England school, please think again. I did not know about this until it was almost to late. I know that they will blame me for everything, but, HAD I LIED LIKE MY RECRUITER WHO TOLD ME TO AND KEPT QUIET ABOUT IT AND NOT BEEN HONEST, WELL, I WOULD HAVE DROPPED MYSELF TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEEN WORKING FOR THEM, OR GOT INTO A HOLE THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN MYSELF OUT OF! So I think they did me a favor by dropping me. Good luck to all the CR England victims out there, my hopes and prayers are with you all!

C.R. England employment

Anyone who is thinking about or have a loved one thinking about taking a job with CR Enland, please stay away!

My husband was an employee of Werner for a year and Werner lost the local account he was on. He didn't want to do 48 states so he decided to start looking for other options. He called CR England and spoke with a requiter by the name of Claudia. She stated that she had a dedicated run available for New York State and he would be home every weekend and two or three eves during the week. I know sounds to good right! That is why we called her multiple times to verify and even had her email it in writing. It was very important that he was home every weekend because I work the weekends and he needs to be home for the kids.

My husband gave Werner their notice and headed off to Indiana for orientation (which by the way they don't pay you for!) He completed 4 days of orientation and on the last day they gave everyone their dispatch contact info and on the paper work it stated he was working for Sorrento? He called his dispatcher to confirm that he would be home every weekend and during the week and he laughed at him and said try once every two weeks! WHAT!

They had him! He called Claudia to discuss it with her and she now claims that HE MUST OF BEEN CONFUSED! WTF! We thought that we covered our butts even by getting it in email.

I called Claudia's boss who was a b***** and she stated that she doesn't know of any account like what Claudia was talking about but refused to help us!

He decided to stick it out, really we didn't have a choice at this point.

On his start date we drove two hours to pick up his truck, they gave us the keys then we drove to a secluded lot to find the truck that was a piece of junk! My husband opens the truck and someone else's junk was in it! It looked like they just walked off the job and never looked back. The shifter was duct taped together and the fan system and air conditioning didn't even work and did I mention it was dirtier that S****. We went back to the office and told the dispatcher that was on and he said sorry about that, you will have to go back home till we get it fixed? WHAT?

We spent our last dimes on gas to get him there!

What kind of company assigns a truck to a new employee and the don't even check the truck?

Also did I mention we ran into another trucker in the lot and he said to my husband "Is that your wife? You better give her a big hug because you will be lucky if you get home"

I will be damned if I let my husband work for a company that is so crocked, so now my husband is unemployed thanks to CR England! Thanks Claudia you liar! I don't know how you sleep at night taking advantage of families and lying to them to make a pay check. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Someone has to put a end to these companies taking advantage of people like this! It is so wrong!

I truely believe C.R. England's days are numbered. They failed to look at the longterm consequences of poor strategic planning. They persisted down a road to certain failure and even after realizing their mistake, chose to continue with their questionable business practices. It appears that they decided to push it to the limit and take all they could get before certain death. They started milking the cow real hard and will continue to do so until they get the cow's kick and they will get kicked. No company can survive after their image has been destroyed. The only solution is to change the name and change the ways of doing business. Goodbye C. R. England.

My dad started with this company a month ago. He was so happy to finally run his own truck and make money. Well, lets just say that did not happen. After several attempts to contact the office regarding paychecks and getting nothing but the voicemail was very upsetting. My dad busted his butt for a month not get any rewared what so ever. They ripped him off and took advantage of him. They double charged on fuel and made him pay for it, which was not part of his lease agreement. Needless to say, we will seeking legal action so this does not happen again. I would not recommend working for CR England!

C.R. England Sexual Hasseement

I made an big Mistake going to CR England...I was hired by this Company back in June 2008. I ace there road test and skills test in Indiana at orientation. The Hotel house us in was ###. 3 Days went pass and i got call that they have an trainer for me, I did request an Non-Smoker, but being an nice guy that I said "ok". well the Trainer decline cuz I was an Non-Smoker. 10 mins later she call back and said he will take me. The Trainer name is Mark Bishop, and he is the worse Trainer I ever seen. 8 days into the Training, we just got done with our 36 hours reset and I was sleeping. When i woke up, I saw Mark Bishop Driving and with my logs written into. I call my TC and told what happen and she call him and i was being drop off in Dallas. I fail cuz i told on him.

Now is Dallas Monday june 23, 2008, I walk into the school in dallas. The secretary is Dallas, took my paperwork, inclusing my logs copy. I told her what as happen, She call my TC and I Talk her again and I was told I was not be testout today. So I wait for the van so I could go back to the ### hotel in Dallas. while i waiting, gay guy works in the dallas School Name Aaron made an pass at me. I told him "NO'. The Next day I walk into the School to turn in my statement about the Sexaul Hassement (which never made it to Utah) and getting ready to take the cumputer vis. of the Test and i was told Not too. When finally they were ready to gave me mine road test, I was ready to go. The guy that did the road test with me, They call him "Cowboys". He took on the Norrow Industal road and wanted me to an right turn on another norrow Industal Road, The an park on the other side of the road and I didn't have enough room to make the turn and I told him. He told me "Do the turn or you fail" so I turn and tendems in the duch...

Since i been home fight this termination that James Rhodes and Carrie Johansen Refuse to Listen and change my Termination. you see that want us to follow the Sexaul hassement policy which they don't follow the Policy at all. CR England is the worse Trucking i ever been with. With there magt. it about the Money. I don't think James Rhodes and Carrie Johansen ever and I mean Ever been in an truck and i didn't think they have an CDL class A lic.

All i ask was job back and status change to Quit, But James Rhodes only care about himself, instead making things right. I'm going to fight this as it takes...

The person who wrote original complaint was lacking in the intelligence department ...he couldn't even type in proper English. As for the complaint above...CRE does not FORCE you to go with a trainer. That is total crap. The apprentice may chose to go with a male trainer because they "don't want to sit around in the hotel for another day" until a female trainer is located AND available, but CRE does NOT force trainers on apprentices.

I heard of three different women who got raped by there trainers. The last one they made a policy during the process of the litigation against them that no female would be put with a male trainer. Dont know what happened with the lawsuit but I do know the repealed there no female with a male trainer policy a few months after that happened. Those three are just what I know for a fact. I have heard dozens of stories about women being sexually abused and raped by the male trainers crengland forces them with.

C.R. England scamming to get government funds

I gave the recruiter all of my information, I have an accident and two tickets on my driving record. They knew this up front. I was asked for a copy of the accident and I sent it to them. They sent me a bus ticket to California and from the start they seemed to be unprofessional. They didn't start the disqualification process until they got you to fill out all of the paper work and that's where the cutting starts. Some people were let go for numbers of reasons, that should have been looked at before they had them travel half way across the US. I went through the whole school process because I hadn't driven a tractor trailer in ten years. The day that I was suppose to start getting paid they tell me I need to call my recruiter who tells me they need a copy of the tickets because they don't say how fast I was going on my driving record. Mind you I'm from Texas and I'm in California so They get me another bus ticket to come get the copies. I send them in and then they say that the tickets are fine but the accident disqualifies me because I was at fault. Here's where it gets funny, The accident falls off my record in December and I can come back but I'll have to pay for the course out of my pocket and the loan for the school that I attended for the past three weeks would be deducted at that time because I would then be an England employee. Now They are the cheapest when it comes to School and that's largely due to Government Funding. They get Funds from the Government and have everyone sign the paperwork, then they start to disqualify you and they won't give you back the paperwork that has your name, ssn, and other information on it so that they can turn it in for a payday from the Government for Creating Jobs. That why if you complete the program they want the money up front if you are desperate enough to want to come back and wouldn't say desperate enough but you think you are getting such a great deal because they are only charging you about 1500.00 to got through the truck driving school at that point when you would have to pay more with other companies, but they have already received a big payday from the Government.

C.R. England job scam

The company and the school is a scam and a lot of people have been ripped off from them. They get you down there with a “free” bus trip, but quickly get their money back when you pay the $100.00 admission fee. The hotel is horrible. Then you are stuck there with no transportation and everything is far away. The rooms are overcrowded and dirty. Over the phone the recruiters make you feel like you will have a great paying job, but their intentions were to get you down there where they can try to pursuade and even force you into sign a lease on one of their trucks. You’re not told the truth at all. I was told different and contradictory information. Also when I questioned the director or recruiters they wouldn't give me straightforward answers. Everything was on a hush hush basis. I finally got tired of everything and had to pay my own back to ct because I couldn't stand all the dishonesty from that company. The company has a history of doing this to people and it's too bad I found out late. Lesson learned and wish to warn others of this scam.

I have a few questions for anyone who can answer them.
How long is their lease and what kind of an agreement do they make you sign? (Details please) Cost of truck vs miles and pay, time in lease, maintanence, insurance, etc, etc. WHAT DOES IT SAY?
I read how CR England is in a law suite about their lease contracts from years ago, but what about now? What is wrong in their lease that everyone is saying, DO NOT SIGN?
I am reading posts of people saying "DONT DO IT", signing a lease and all with them now., PLEASE BE SPECIFIC so others can understand WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CONTRACT.
I have considered working for this company, now I am alittle skeptical after the posts. Is it really THAT BAD?
I mean, what if you lease their brand new truck? Less of a headache for repairs?
Anyone with the same problems who have leased a new truck and teamed up with someone, wife-husband?
I have not read a single answer to those who have questioned:
"WHAT OTHER COMPANY IS A GOOD COMPANY TO WORK FOR THEN IF CR ENGLAND IS NOT SUCH A GREAT START?"
After you get a CDL, you are limited to the options of what company to work for, right?... so which one does everyone recommend then, after you have your CDL, if you dont have a CDL?
I have heard that class C is the best one to obtain, whereas class A is what companies require...
For MR. LOOPHOLE, what do you mean exactly by, "MY ETHICS ARE FAR MORE STRINGENT... SO I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO THRIVE?"

Bottom line is, I am an eagar to learn, thrive and independant person wanting be a truck driver on the open road, and want to do it THE RIGHT WAY.
Glad to hear from the best of the best drivers out there!

Quite honestly, I have to agree with the person making the complaint. However, there are tons of employers that are worse, I have paperwork to prove it. That being said, I did not expect a day at the ritz, and expected a lot worse. The doctrines that are thrust upon you are made to weed out the ones that will not make it in the trucking industry, it is a filthy job that takes a huge amount of commitment and one must endure a lot worse than the hotels and schools. same for the over the road training you get- prepare to get dirty.
Luckily, my ethics are far more stringent than CR England's, so I have been able to endure and thrive.
I have more trouble with the crap that has been thrust upon me in regards to the settings and outright damage they are doing to the trucks they lease out.
On the bright side, with the level of dedication that I possess, I have found a loophole to exploit in regards to their trucks.
If one is smart, they will pull every load they can, and "use up "the truck before the lease is up.
No truck is worth 40k after 500, 000 miles and the damage they force upon it, so when they did a projection of my mileage for the next year, it raised more than one eyebrow. I'll turn it in and purchase a new one when I'm done with it. In the mean time, I'm taking care of it as my own; its my bread and butter.
The truck will be around 600, 000 miles, and it will all be lower end, lugging miles. As a diesel mechanic, I can tell you that the engine will be worthless when I'm through with it. Also, by the virtue of being a mechanic, I can slow this to a certain extent by a few service tricks few know, and does not void the warranties by adding questionable chemicals.
There is nothing they can do about it by the terms of their contract, either. The truck will remain unaltered as they want, and be damaged by their own actions beyond my control. End of lease, not my problem, in black and white.
I suggest to you and anyone else that wishes to work for England, bring a trucking brain along. The school is nothing compared to the rest of the lease.
A load of experienced and dedicated drivers like me would definitely throw a wrench into their machine.

C.R. England RIP OFF

I was an I/C for C.r. England from March of 07 until Oct of 07. I leased right aftr training. I only had two late loads my entire time with them and that was right after signing my lease. Understandable new to driving alone...right. Well in Sep of 04 I requested home time from my DM to be there when my son was born. He said I had to go to the terminal in salt lake first to face the professional development board and I would probably be terminated for late loads. Well I said no I was going home. My lease was a walk away lease. I called them and told them where they could pick up their truck. Even spoke to the repo driver. Next thing I get is a bill for the remainder of my lease term. Which is funny because before I leased that truck it was abandoned and the previous driver was issued a bill for the full lease term which he paid so england owned the tractor. Well they can kiss my [protected]@$!

C.R. England Rip off

C.R. England is THE biggest RIPOFF out there. They are thives and will take everything that you have and then some. They start by telling all these things how they will make your business succesful and all they really are worried about is getting your money. They want you to train their employees so if there is any damage you have to pay to get it fixed. They have just turned into a puppy mill. They want you to go to their school just to get your money and then they will put you in the hole so bad that you cant even see daylight if you let them. Just ask the over 600 drivers who turned their trucks in. England has become the lowest of the low. Out on the road they are known as the Morman Mob and it is the truth. They are nothing but CUT THROATS.

C.R. England Stay away at all costs

My husband recently graduated from CR England's trucking school (a total duration of of 3 months). During school, they refused to talk about pay, stating "you aren't an employee yet, so don't waste your time with questions like that". The first odd thing we came across was a cash reward for anybody "turning in" anybody talking badly about the company (trainers and other drivers affiliated with the company). It brought to mind, the nazi's, who would tell people to turn in anyone going against them. My husband had a severe abscess in his jaw (which can be deadly) and called corporate to get medical treatment with his supposed "benefits". His calls were never returned, left to be OTR having to take large doses of ibuprofen from the severe pain. Once my husband graduated the OTR phase of the training, they, all of a sudden, had a 2 month wait list to be a company employee, were eliminating employee drivers altogether in December and were cutting pay by 2 cents a mile (it really adds up when you are driving many thousands a week). They claimed that he could lease a truck through them for a 6 month "trial period". They end up making the big bucks by ripping off their, already struggling independent contractors by charging full price for the truck during a 3 year lease, then giving you the chance to buy it (for full price) afterwards. They also make you purchase your insurance through them which is just one more way of getting your money into their pocket. I begged my husband not to sign, but he was already in that boat well before. He ended up driving second seat with his phase 2 trainer, who decided not to train anymore to give my husband second seat (even though he would get a pay cut from England). In the past two weeks, they have received less than half of their miles driven while trainer and student. My husband found out that England had bumped his already slave wages from 14 cents a mile to 13 cents a mile stating that it is subject to change without notice(for a 70 hour work week it evened out to be about $5 an hour)and they decided that his partner was going to pay 100% of his paycheck (instead of a portion of it). His partner, who leases a truck from them, came out with a grand total of $250, not having money to pay his bills or get Christmas presents.

YOU WILL REGRET SEEKING WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. Don't let their sly marketing and "be your own boss" inspiratonal posters and smoke and mirrors of a religious family business charm you. They take advantage of people down on their luck and take them for everything they can.

You can stick up for CRengland if you want to, but I have been keeping track of my husband's pay stubs and they are taking money from him in places that don't belong to them. They are a low down, dirty rotten, no good company that uses their drivers and lies to their faces. DO NOT get your training or break into the world of trucking with these people. They will expect you to live on nothing while they syphon away almost every dollar that is made.

I hear and see a lot of this all the time. A lot of drivers that want their own business is the same as with any business. It takes money to make money. When their business fails they blame the corporation's. Be it CR. England, Werner, and so on. They wanted a CDL to drive and it takes 6 months of on the road experience to get one. These companies agree to train, teach, house, and provide meals while in school. Then they get placed in a truck that gives them the experience they must have to get that CDL. If these new drivers want to own their own truck then they get up to a $100, 000.00 worth of equipment. Most want to work for the company with guarantees. That is not happening. The competition is just so large that the companies can only hire so many people. As with all businesses. It's expensive, there are no guarantees you will win the struggles of life. If there were everyone would be doing this. And for the ones that have failed. Instead of blaming everyone except yourself is just like this complaint that I am responding too. This article is very clear using your own words. Its CR England's fault. Your poor health, medications, plus caused your buisness to crash. Sounds like you were so busy blaming everything on others that your failures including your poor health conditions, you had no plan to help with your family while you were gone, I'll stop here. A little advise. Frustrated drivers are the cause of so many accidents that it even takes lives. It is very clear you were over your head. Good luck in your future.

The above is false. I am an IC w/ CR England and I get miles and I make good money. I accept the loads sent me, I don't pick and chose the long miles over the short miles. I pick up on time, I deliver on time, I am a Phase 1 trainer and I make very good money. You get out of this job what you put into it, and the lazy folks that want the job to work for them instead of them working for the job are going to post the BS above.

Wow. I just got off the phone with a recruiter this morning and it sounded way to good to be true, so I checked this site out and whoa Nelly; it's too good to be true. I feel so sorry for you, and will steer clear of C.R. England.

I just spent a few days with a few C.R. drivers in Gary IN. I was going to school for another company and the [censor] I was told about C.R. almost made me change my mind about trucking altogether. One of there drivers was staying at the hotel there and when he got started talking about C.R. it was a sad country song! Telling his story of the last 3 years with them this grown man broke down and cried. Not just i front of me but many. I do think he may park that truck in there home office one like he said he would do if they didn't make things right!

I too leased with C R England and also had a terrible experience. I was a lease driver from Aug 2009 until Jan 2010 and became a trainer in Sept. I was just about starved to death. My apprentice was making more money than I was. Between the truck payment of 487.00 a week and the variable mileage payment of .14 cents per mile I either had no income or was in the negative. They tell you in orientation that you can make 100, 000.00 a year as a Phase 1 Trainer and that is certainly not the case. We typically had anywhere from 4 to 5 days to deliver loads of 1400 to 1600 miles. The recievers never would take the load early so we had to sit and wait. My lowest paycheck was 1.69. C R England will lie to you to get you in there and try and talk you into leasing a truck. The DM's and load planners do not care about their drivers at all. I waited 22hrs for an empty trailer after making numerous phone calls and qualcomm messages with no response. Stay away from this company at all cost. It looks good from the outside but once you get in there it's a totally different story. This company almost cost me my home and that is something I can never forgive them for. They are outright liers that dont care about anything except making money. One final note, I made C R England over $56, 000.00 from Aug 2009 to Jan 2010 and after all the expenses I came out with about $4500.00 of that. They should be sued for the Variable Mileage Payment among other things.

C.R. England - School Scam

My experience at the CR England CDL School was like something right out of the “Grapes of Wrath” movie. Times are hard; and all of the people I met at the school (from all over the country) were clearly desperate. CR England is a big corrupt company with an operation in a small probably corrupted Texas town, exploiting the poorest and most desperate people;...
