This is reference to burger king store # 8119. I've been visiting this store for about 9 months now and never seen a male manager nor pl. I've also notice that an employee working there was once a manager at KFC. Not saying that the managers and Pl's that are there now are not doing there job, but its very rare to see male managers. Also noticed that a female at the same store probaly been working there around 1.5 months now have a black shirt, in which this guy i was speaking on has been there over 4.5 months. Yea you can say i see everything. Everytime im in the store which is everyday i see him bust his tail working, he's all over the place doing odd jobs making sure the store is clean. That's what type of people we need in management, not someone who has a lead to that position. I know it was a lead cause i overheard conversations as the employees were taking breaks in the store. I truly don't thnk this is the right choice. I see him motivated and yes qualified for the position but yet you make a FEMALE who's been there for a few weeks a pl. Please review this before i have to make a disrcimination complaint.

@pobarjenkins: Perhaps you don't get something called, "economy of scale", dear. There are an incalculable number of ways the cashier could have handled the customer, all of which could have retained them. But she didn't.

Here's another way they could have handled it: They could have made the batch of biscuits, given the customer what they ordered, and donated the remainder of the batch to a local homeless shelter or soup kitchen, gotten a receipt for it and written it off as a charitable donation.

Here's another little consideration for you, dear. The complain clearly states there was 6 minutes to go until the advertised end of the breakfast period. Please note, "advertised." The fact that the customer could not receive the advertised product at the advertised price during the advertised period is a little violation of US Federal law. The customer could, and probably should, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for failing to receive what was advertised when it was clearly advertised as being available. Oh! A nasty fine from the FTC versus the cost of a batch of biscuits. Hmm. What would be cheaper?

Also, whomever calculated the batch requirements for the shift didn't do so very well. Six minutes to go and you're out of biscuits? Too bad. You ask the customer nicely if he would wait for fresh ones.

Oh, and here's another little snippet of fact, for you, dear. An offer was made and accepted. Money had changed hands. There was now a contract in place and the BK restaurant failed to deliver on it and made it nasty for the customer to boot. That's called a tort, dear. Not a tart (though Auntie has made lots of those in her day).

Bottom line: The restaurant screwed up in more ways that one. The lifetime value of the customer would have outweighed the cost of one batch of biscuits. And the fact is, if they took the money, they should deliver the goods.

Ageism dear? In my experience in hundreds, if not thousands, of retail transactions, I have had more negative experiences with people under the age of 21 behind the counter than over that age. That's called empirical evidence, not ageism. Though I am sorry to hear you have largely had negative service experiences with seniors. I think that shows us both that training in sales and service is woefully inadequate in the retail sector.

Have a peanut butter cookie, dear. Tea?

@Auntie: They don't lose just a dollar for making the biscuits. They would have to throw out a fairly large batch of food for one person. And if they did it for this one person, they would have to do it for every person, which would result in huge loss compared to the loss of a customer who buys a dollar biscuit.

Though I do feel as though the cashier could have been upfront with them.

Also, way to bring ageism into the picture. I have had a lot worse customer service experience with seniors than I have with teenagers.

@gkenigmatic - You still eat at a Hardee's you once got food poisoning at? Dear, are you a masochist or does the little cho-choo not quite make it around the track?

Burger King -- such crap! Every single one of their stores shut down in my area. Auntie is steadfaastly happy about it too.

Oh ... gkenigmatic -- for the record -- I have sworn countless times never to darken a merchant's or company's doorstep again or spend one single cent on their products. And guess what? I haven't. This is Auntie's charming little way of kicking the CEO in the balls.

Poor customer service is poor customer service. Period. This fellow had a bad customer experience. Oh it was 6 minutes to close of breakfast and they didn't want to make a batch of biscuits? Oh, boo hoo hoo for the Burger King franchise! They lost a customer, and possibly the lifetime value of that customer, to save a buck on a biscuit batch. BK corporate will waste millions of dollars on advertising this year. But lost a customer on a biscuit. Penny wise, pound foolish.

"For the want of a nail, the shoe was lost. For the want of a shoe, the horse was lost. For the want of horse, the man was lost." That liitle parable is about how small things can cause big problems down the line.

Stupid little things like this drive customers crazy. Auntie would bet her teapot, Miss Surly in the story, was a teenager. They're so good at rendering bad service!

@Disappointed (the complaintant) - Thank goodness lunch time was only a short time away!

You're so upset over 42 cents? I really doubt that she just made up the amount (considering it's so random), and especially because your items were still listed. Additionally, most cashiers don't even have the power to just enter in random amounts without manager consent. Maybe the price rang up wrong? You should have alerted her at the time.

Sounds like you only eat there if it is free anyway! Now what do you want sent in the mail? More free coupons to eat at a store that has rude service. BK does not owe you anything.

It is stated on the menu boards that there is an upcharge for this substitution! And the cashiers are doing their job by charging for it. It accounts for their inventory and if they did not charge they could lose their job for giving away food.

I am surprised to see a comment on here that i answered my own question. I wasn't asking a question. I, after the last couple of years of going to this place, just can't believe that someone else hasn't complained or that this place hasn't gone under. I have never been one to call up a company and fuss over bad service or to get nasty in a store with someone even if they do have an awful attitude. But this place is beyond just a couple of instances of bad service. Someone needs to get a word out there about this business...because as i see it from the last couple of years nobody has said much and nothing has been done. I work in with customers every day and i depend on people just like me to keep my job. I would never give a bad attitude or such poor service and i expect to have the same in return. It is there for a reason and i shouldn't feel like "if i just don't like it to stay away".

And I'm sorry but I don't remember asking how you paid your bills? And you don't know everything about someone from a 2 sentance consumer complaint board so there you go again assuming others don't pay their bills... Wow!

Well I suppose I was under the impression that this was a board for consumers to let others know their issues with businesses... Not an opinion board as you put it. And all of the posts that I have read you seem to treat peple like they are stupid right out of the gate. You assume that you know everything about everything and from what I have read you really don't. I'm posting here because I had a complaint and I picked you because you were insinuating you knew my circumstance when clearly you did not. I can't stand someone that thinks they know EVERYTHING and that everyone else knows nothing and is stupid... Really it makes you look like a jerk.

Stealth you seem to be against anyone who puts a complaint up on this board... Why so? And I don't eat fast food but I allow my kids to as I loved it when I was a kid but my point is if there are no customers there are no paychecks these people cannot even work compitent for burger king and they won't work well anywhere else. Anything you do in life you should do it well or you won't get far.

A store should be kept clean at all times, as i always do at the store i work. There's no reason why it should be kept messy, when its not busy staff members should then clean the store, and listen to its customers.

It sounds here that maybe brown sause was used mistakingly. Behind the scenes, we have to make the food fast as we get so many orders, however there's no reason that we can't combine fast and accuracy to make the perfect burger.

Actually, you're completly wrong. The law states that since they're giving you a cup wth water and ice they're giving you a service and can actually charge you for this.

What they call the small fry now used to be their medium fry. Their old small for $1 is now called the value fry. McDonald's doesn't have their medium fries for a dollar anymore either.

Daxomni,
Obviously, this is not the forum to post complaints regarding Rwanda, Burma, Sierra Leone, Haiti, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia or the local bully. I go to the appropriate sites to post those, and other more "worthy" complaints. However, since I do have a complaint about the appropriateness of these commercials, and I saw there was already an open forum, I felt this was the right place to post my concerns. Thank you for sharing your concerns that I do take other opportunities to guide my child. As you will note, I did say I was watching the TV with my child, so we can have discussions about what we watch. Which is why I was concerned. This ad was aired during a program that I consider to be family friendly.

Wow, so much in the world to be concerned about and you pick Burger King ads? I wonder how you'll ever explain Rwanda, Burma, Sierra Leone, Haiti, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, or the local neighborhood bully for that matter. Pick something IMPORTANT to get upset about, then DO something about it. Telling your kid that Burger King is evil because they have bad commercials is a waste of a good teaching opportunity. Maybe you should explain to your kid that watching television is a complete waste of the brain they were born with? If TV is all you ever have to worry about you must have it pretty good!

I've said this 100 times before...fast food managers are nothing but better-paid baby sitters. You need to find out who the OWNER is - forget the manager. Burger-King stores are franchises - find out who the owner is and that's who you contact directly. You should be able to obtain this information from the Burger King national website.
