Brown Mackie College Worthless School/College

I was a full time student attending the Veterinary Technician Program at Brown Mackie College in Cincinnati. First off, it would have taken me just 2 months shy of 3 YEARS to graduate their program because of all the BS they put me through and they kept failing me in my classes so they could get more money out of me. Then when I was finally at a place I really liked doing my externships, they decided to KICK ME OUT OF MY PROGRAM over a mistake! Hey, is'nt that why we are in school; to learn...So now I am about $30, 000 in debt in student loans, and probably spent close to $10, 000 out of my own pocket and have nothing to show for it. Then to add salt to the wound, when I went to "sign" my "dismissal" papers (which I feel I was forced to sign), they tried to transfer me into another program! How nice of them! So they could get more money out of me. Whoever wrote the post on wanting to see about bringing on a class action law suit, I saw lets bring it on [censored]es!

Brown Mackie College school for profit

Brown mackie college is a rip-off! The Brown Mackie chain of schools is a fine example of "organized crime". I have never experienced such an anal display of financial incompetence, academic handicaps, and brutal unprofessionalism. BMC-AKRON is plagued with hyprocrisy. I have had an Ethics teacher tell the class that he was a good liar and he lies well! I have been quoted one sum for my books and tuition only to have another member of their staff ridicule their co-worker and quote me a totally different amount that I supposedly owe. I was once quoted a total of 423.00 by a "financial" counselor only to run home to get the money and by the time I returned the total was quoted as 1, 069.69-omg-what the heck is going on here? I have also suffered financial distress when BMC educational counselors continually submitted in accurate information to the va for my Gi Bill. The books were priced higher than any where else and I actually purchased a used book from the school, but they charged me full price! I know this because the supplemental educational track had already been activated by a prior user! I have also been two weeks into a class and the instructors were fired or "removed". I have walked the halls only to see students listed in the "Busted" magazine, yet they require a reputable student to hold office for some off their clubs! They want their instructors to maintain a highly professional appearance but, the majority of the students wear droopey jeans, thug gear, revealing clothing, and flipflops. I was once pulled into the hallway by an instructor who read me the riot act about something a staff member "thought" they heard me say. I was all shook up until a ghetto fabulous student entered the class and invitecd this "copper" to kiss her butt and continued to listen to her mp3 player and disrupt the entire class. I totally lost respect for that teacher and felt she was threatened by this student who she didi not dare approach-wow-I guess she thought I WAS A GOOD NIGG** and wouldn't beat her to a pulp like my adversary! BMC now wants to go to "blended learning". Blended learning is 2 days in the classroom and 1 day at home. What about their daytime commercials about personal attention and "hands on experience?' Most of their students can not show up for the 3 days and giving them yet another day to "piss-off" is ridiculous. Of course finding a babysitter is not an issue because you can always bring your children to school with you. Pets are welcome too.

This school is a joke I am there now for the vet tech program. I am only a few months from graduating which is why I haven left yet. The teachers do not teach they would rather be on phones and gossiping, we actually had to drive almost 3 hours recently for a class I had that we spent 3 hours at so a total of 6 hours drive time. I could go on and on about the financial aid and etc of the school. I wish there was something I could do about it. This school needs shut down and other schools like it.

I have also attened Brown Mackie Akron. It took me a time of fifteen minutes to get enrolled and my financial aid accepted. I only attended my orientation and one other class prior to being put on bedrest due to pregnancy concerns. I returned all of my books and they told me everything was going to be covered and I owed nothing. I later received a letter from the fafsa board and it stated I was DENIED! Then I received a bill from AES stating I owed 3, 647.00 to loans dispersed on my behalf to Brown Mackie College. I never received anything from this school from AES but now I am being put into default and they are threatening to garnish my wages for this outrageous sum of money that they pocketed for themselves. I am working on getting a class action lawsuit due to this situation. If anyone has any comments or similar occurences with this school please dont hesitate to email me @ heather.longville@yahoo.com

Thanks for your help.

Brown Mackie College Do not trust what they say.

Let's just start out from the time you enter the college to check it out. You are swarmed with lies of this great place. To me being an US ARMY vet felt like I was getting recurited all over again. They promise you the transferability of your credits but this is not true. They are telling us not untill we have a graduating class. I understand this as they say to be true, but some students have looked into attending another college after getting screwed form this school. Those schools have told these students your out of luck this college is not accredited. Now you understand that part lets look at the second part. This part contains you not having any choice in the matter of when your classes will be held (i.e. day/evening). If your attending evening classes because you work during the day this school is telling us tuff we are only offering day classes for your core courses. The person who told us this pretty much told the people this is the way its going to be and to quit your job if you want to keep attending this school. Our department chair talked down on us like we were a bunch of little kids and our voices would not be heard. She said "this is what it is don't like it oh well I don't care." For a school who states time and time again they are here for the student does not care about the student. As for the education I have taken college course in different settings from community, to private schools the classes here are so easy to pass at least for me. They have generlized the testing to make sure the not so educated students could pass but for the others we don't feel as pushed. Yes, I had a student in my classes who asked how to spell the word "shoe" I might not be a great speller myself but they teach us that in first grade. He is no longer in school but the standards need to be changed. If you are looking for saving some money and getting a great education don't go here there is a place called a community college. The money issues you read about this place are true it is now 350 a credit for my program from 250. I hope this helps you because I wish I would have read something like this before attending and blowing my money here.

Sincerly,
Looking out for the little people.

Brown Mackie College harassed student

Hello all interested,

I am sincerely writing to obtain support from anyone who has intimate knowledge and is willing to back it up concerning my personal experience with Brown Mackie Nursing College of Fort Wayne, Indiana. I will withhold my name, but anyone who reads my complaint will know who I am or at least heard of me. I am hopeful that I will find someone who will be able to help me prove the lies told about me by students and staff at this school which led to my having to leave this campus and finish my degree elsewhere at my own expense.

I was harassed on a daily basis by a group of students who were motivated by one Asian man and my former wife who left this campus when she discovered I was enrolled as a student there. The Asian man was discussing in class his daughter’s health problems of a personal nature, who was only six years old at the time. The descriptions he was making didn’t fit the normal hygiene problems of a six year old, but that of a young woman who was sexually active. I found his discussion offensive and disturbing and I reported it to my academic advisor. The information was then told to him by the Dean, who is now the president and from that point on he worked the student body like a politician bringing about lies about me in order to destroy my credibility. My former wife was only too happy to provide additional personal information ab out me to make matters worse. These students tried to have me dismissed several times with lies that I was making threats toward them. False phone calls were made to the school saying that certain people’s lives were in danger by someone posing as a sheriff’s deputy. Rumors were spread that I had killed someone and gotten away with it. I was also openly labeled as the next “Virginia Tech Killer.” My former wife had breached my medical files and lost her job as a result of a HIPPA violation at Parkview Hospital and then employed at St. Joe Hospital, where I was accused of being drunk and asked to leave the clinical site. Even though I could prove I was not drunk with a blood alcohol test which showed I had not had any alcohol to drink for six months, the school refused to make the situation right. These students would repeatedly go to clinical instructors and tell them lies about me and to watch me close, because I was a dangerous drunk and a killer.

Several months in a row I was prevented from attending clinical and class while their lies were investigated. Upon graduation, I filed a complaint with the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, in which the school wanted to disclose the name of the person who falsely accused me of being drunk, but with their protection so that I could not jeopardized their clinical site. They also stated among many lies, which I met with their behavioral specialist on a weekly basis, which never happened. As far as I knew, the school had no specialist on staff and referred students off campus to a counseling service that was not affiliated with the school. I am trying to expose this school as well as their protection of a student, who is an ex police officer fired for abusing and harassing people. I have no idea why they would seek to protect him, and my former wife who also has a history of violating privacy laws. Although, it is clear these individuals have clear motives to harass me and keep me quiet, now the school has seriously crossed the line. While I know I attended no secessions with a behavior specialist working for the school, I fear they will stop at nothing, even forging records. They have also lied in a federal investigation which took place prior to the state investigation. It seems the staff at this diploma mill is more than willing to cover their tracks when it comes to me and are willing to tell grand lies to discredit me.

There is more to this story, but I have told enough. Anyone who can supply me with proof of their activities either with similar stories or first hand proof of what this school has done to me personally will be greatly appreciated. I have filed an appeal and I won’t stop until I find justice in this matter. The way this school behaves on all levels is repulsive and as a student attending their college, they have your back up against the wall and have all the power especially when you are in their nursing program. Their program director has no problem walking all over students and working out lies to pass who she believes should be passed according toher politics. I was an honor student and quite frankly, taking their tests was like shooting fish in a barrel for me. Other students had problzoems only because they didn’t study and expected the test answers to be spoon fed to them, which occurred in every class on a weekly basis. In addition, my former wife was rehired by this school immediately after the dean and the nursing program director ran me out of school with the help of my former wife's friends at St. Joe Hospital.

Again, I need your help. Please contact me at [protected]@yahoo.com

Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you soon.

Brown Mackie College - Immoral behavior/Incompetant Leadership/Predator Practices

I'm a current full time employee instructor at Brown Mackie Atlanta. All of the above mentioned comments on this forum and other numerous forums like Jobvent.com, still understate the current culture and environment at Brown Mackie. The admission department alone should be charged with fraud and literally lying to student to make commission sales and...

Brown Mackie College (BMC) in Fort Wayne, IN opened in 2004. My daughter graduated 2007 to find all doors closed to BMC graduates, reputation beyond repair. Her CMA degree meant nothing! So many posts reflecting the same outcome at various BMC across the nation. The Federal government sued BMC in 2015. It appears they were able to reach a $LARGE settlement, WHAT ABOUT US! I have the student loan in my name from Fedloan Servicing US Dept of Education. She was unable to improve her wages after graduation and remained in the same position as a CNA for low wages. In 2012 she secured a position in a doctor's office for a wage increase of $2.00 an hour leaving her unable to make payments on the loan and I did the best I could from my wages, we were late/missed/behind! Deferments or default, some choice! I would like to direct you to a petition I started on change.org to address these financial crippling student loans. I did the math: an original loan $23, 406.17 in the year 2032 will =$113, 042! BMC should be sued by each and every student/graduate. Students did the work, graduated with hopes of a bright financially secure career to find themselves with nothing to show for their efforts except a huge debt for the next 25 years. Please log on and search for STUDENT LOAN DEFERMENTS CRIPPLING ABILITY TO EVER PAY OFF LOAN, join us by signing the petition to make a change. Finally in 2012 my daughter secured a position that allowed her to make the monthly loan payments but only after completing an online course, not from BMC, and going out of state for the testing. BMC did not produce the results a college by definition should: an educational institution or establishment, in particular one providing higher education or specialized professional or vocational training. WHO RECEIVED THAT? Not BMC graduates thanks to the lack of community support / reputation. Not my daughter who was on the Deans list every semester, how about YOU? Looking to join a class action suit. email:helgesen@frontier.com.

I graduated from BM with a Associate in MA. Little did I know that the credits I received, doesn't carry over of is accredited for other medical fields. Many companies will not recognized them as an accredited school. When it came time for me to do my hours to graduate, they couldn't find me anywhere before time ran out. I had to find my own place to do hours. They tried to make me pay for it but I tried to fright them on it. I feel that I have wasted my time and money at the school. I would very much like to take a ;lawsuit on them, I feel I was cheated. I hope there is someone put there that can help me because the loans are not compatible to the education that I received.

I started at brown Mackie college of Phoenix on 11-30-2009; since I started I have been on the DEANs list and PRESIDENTS list and received a CLASSIC CITIZEN award. I never missed not one single day of school in 14 months, until I was Forced to sit out a month (WILLFUL OBSTRUCTION OF LEARNING) due to the College Surgical Tech Administrator and Head of the Department telling me, "Donna you are going to have to sit out in February 2011 because no one is teaching that class next month and it is no longer a required class to take as credits for your associates degree in surgical technology" I said well put me in a class I need I said back. I don’t want to sit out... She returned with well you are one month ahead of everyone so they have to catch up to you. I said BUT I DONT WANT TO SIT OUT. She said there is really nothing I can do so she walks me to the financial aid Department tells Patti (The Financial aid supervisor) that I need to sit out next month and then she walks away and leaves me with Patti. I said Patti I don’t want to sit out, and I am Very upset I wanted to have perfect attendance through my whole academic career. She said ok you can leave now. So I was dumb founded. So I went to Patrick who works at the registrar’s office and I asked him, what is the next class you have me scheduled for? And he said Pharmacy for the surgical technologist. I said thank you and let. But I was even dumber Founded and totally confused at the fact that I received a phone a phone call about two weeks later from an admissions rep that says Donna I need you to come in and sign a new enrollment agreement. I said WHAT? WHY? She added well you’re no longer enrolled here at brown Mackie Phx and if you want to start your class in two weeks you need to re-enroll. I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK. I never dropped out I had my next class scheduled I was so upset. My now PERFECT ATTENDANCE and DEANS LITS was ruined. I made a name for myself at Brown Mackie and everyone who works there knows me. I went back to the college and I looked at the enrollment agreement and I noticed it said a little over 33, 000 as the cost for attendance. I said this is CRAZY it was originally paying 24, 000 now I have to pay 33, 000 she said well if you want to start class in two weeks.. So I felt like I had no choice because I never wanted to take off a month. She also said I need you to fill out this form why you dropped out of school. I SAID I NEVER DROPPED OUT I WAS FORCED TO SIT OUT SO PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS CORRECT. She said well go ahead and fill this paper out anyway I need to put it in your file cause you are on probation it’s a standard thing that has to do with financial aid when you drop out.. I was pissed here i have this new lady talking down to me like I was a loser cause she thinks I dropped out. NOT CORRECT! FORCED TO WITHDRAW! I went to financial aid and all my aid was messed up now and i had to fill out a new award they charged me for the class i didn’t take but after three months of ### they finally gave me a refund but only for the class and fee not for the book charges. two days later I’m in class and financial aid want to see me so I leave class and Carol said I need you to sign this award I said I did with Patti the other day. Carol said well its wrong so sign this so i did and I went back to class with my copy and i noticed she was trying to rake out a Parent plus loan out on me when I am an independent student. So i went back said I want that original copy I signed, you can’t take a parent loan out on me. She gave me the biggest attitude. I said have the CORRECT award letter a new one and I will come back next break, I went back and told her I will review the new one but I need to get back to class. I will look this one over and bring it back. She said I WILL JUST HAVE YOU PULLED OUT OF CLASS LITERALLY YELLING AT ME WITH THE BIGGEST ATTITUDE, I SAID GO AHEAD BUT RIGHT NOW I AM MISSING OUT ON LEARNING BECAUSE OF YOUR MISTAKE IN THE FIRST PLACE. So on my next break I took my friend tiffany with me to see carol and she was still being rude to me in front of tiffany. I said please don’t get an attitude with me because of the mistakes you made... Tiffany could not believe the nerve of carol treating me that way. I also noticed when I got on my student portal to check my degree audit there were two separate DIFFERENT Degree audits. I was devastated my PERFECT WORLD I had created for myself had been crushed by these people that seemed like they no longer cared about me and my accomplishments of perfect attendance and my G.P.A of 3.69 which now on the portal said 2.80. I didn’t understand what the college had done to my little green progress line to see what I had left till I graduated. I went an spoke to Patrick in registrar, he said I have nothing to do with the portal, talk to bonnie, so I went to bonnie she said you need to log on to the new portal, I said what new portal and she told me. The new portal had no degree audit, and if i wanted to check my financial aid or account summery I had to click in the new portal that took me to the old one... I started having an issue and concerns with the student portal because it said i attempted 4 credits on one portion of the portal and the class was listed as unsuccessful attempt... and then I went to the other degree audit and it said I had changed programs... WHICH I NEVER DID... and it had a different class listed as credits taken credits unsuccessful... for two months I was putting tickets in to talk to someone higher up and I didn’t get much response other than a revolving door. I’m about to rip my hair out cause no one seems to think anything is wrong with my portal. I finally put a complaint into AZ Department of Post-Secondary Education and the President of the school called me and I went to talk to her and told her ALL the issues but I really didn’t get to far other then her apologizing ALOT for everyone at the college. She commented on how detail I am even over people that worked under her. She finally saw my side and realized I was having several problems. But the college and everyone down there have driven me to the point that I don’t even care. They willfully held me from learning they willfully forced me to ruin my 14 months perfect attendance, and my dean’s list. Not to mention I had Pell grant money returned to dept. of education. I feel sabotaged, after all the hard work I put into Brown Mackie Phx I feel they were willfully obstructing me and holding me back in every imaginable way possible :( I was under the understand I was half time cause i took 8 credits in the term but they said I needed to take all 12. Something is not right with what everyone is doing or should I say lack thereof...

I was told of a blocked transfer that my whole associate degree would transfer but after my THIRD class I learned that's not true there is no such thing as blocked transfer. Now neither I nor my husband can attend classes at any other school because our financial aid isn't covered and we owe the school money.

If you want to waste money this is the best school to waste your money at

I went to BMackie, started signing up, I informed them that I was a NAU student, but was very interested in Medical Asst, or Surgi Tech. One of the 5 first questions I asked them was, " will the scrubs, iPad, etc.., be taken out of the first fasfa installment all at once, and would it it eat all the expense money, and leave nothing for gas? ". Infact, I asked several times. Not once did I get a straight answer. I live a distance, and would cost me, a single mom of 4 a lot of money. So it would set me up for fail. Also, one answer I got was" u can always ask for more money". So, it ended up that I went along until my financial aid appt. I finally got to that appt on day 3 Actually day 4. Because I couldn't make it one of those days so I attended 3 days 4hrs long So when I realized the extra money they were talking about, left me $108., to use for gas for 3 months. So before I signed my second financial aid agreement, I walked out, and told them this would not work. Set for fail. I went straight over to NAU, and told em " I'm back. N started day one with them at NAU. Just so happen to be first day at NAU. I felt taken advantage of, and strung along. If somebody had just told me up front, what I had asked about, would there be any left for gas I would not have stayed there at Mackie. I would've known I couldn't financially do it. They knew. They all knew what I was asking, and could've answered. NOW they want to charge me for 3 days I told them when I left maybe I could do this in December, but after that lil ordeal, No Way ! They'll tell you anything to get you signed up. They can't be trusted. Charging me for 3 days is a lil extreme also. That's called mickle & some me to death. tawny.west43@yahoo.com. I graduated from BMC-Lenexa in 2004. The same false rumors re: accreditation were flying then. Private colleges are HIGHLY competative. Another private school in the area (one who at the time and still dims in comparrison to BMC) began the rumor and keeps it going. Very sad that you all are having your time wasted with this drama. -Kim Powell Woods

I am a August 2012 Information Technology grad from BMC-Miami. Even though I graduated at the top of my class with a 3.95 GPA, it turned into one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I felt cheated and misguided on the financial end. As much money as these Financial Aid workers make, more than half of them have no clue on what they're doing. Throughout the two years of school, there was always a issue when it became time for me to complete the re-pack process. Tuition was raised twice if I'm not mistaken while I attended. The money that students received for books changed as well from $400 each quarter to $200. And this was done without any input from the students, which I don't understand. Knowing that these books were nearly $200 each, what could students do needing to buy books for three different courses? Nothing, nothing at all. I too felt like a just a number on the books. After achieving so much, I was so proud of myself keeping a 4.0 until my last four months of school. I was a Honorable Member of the Honor Society, on the President’s List and had perfect attendance. And it was all overshadowed by a out-of-school stipend that I received November 2012. I received a check and 4 months was told that I owe that amount to the school. At first everyone I spoke to could not, I repeat COULD NOT tell me where the check amount came from, why I received it, and now why it is to be paid back to the school. I talked to Head of Financial Aid, Business Office Manager, Student Accounting and still no direct answer. After speaking with several people in corporate, and actually begging for the number because no one acted as if they knew it, I was told that my last re-pack was not done or explained properly because my externship was not covered. If I had known that, don't you think I would have done something different. I didn't have the money to pay out of pocket for my externship. And the school didn't want to take the fault for anything! Saying that, "Well why didn't you call and ask if you could cash the check?". Like are you kidding me? The check clearly states (OUT OF SCHOOL STIPEND)! So clearly I thought it was money owed to ME! It became a lot of ANNOYING calls and emails every few days from the business office. Yet, I feel like I was cheated. BMC Miami had 100 excuses on why I HAD to pay this money back. I've had no help, no apology and now I'm in a runt because the school won't release my transcript so that I can attend a different college. It's not fair. But, representative had the nerve to call and ask if I wanted to go into my Bachelors program at BMC Miami. When I stated I had a balance with the school she told me, "Well that's not a problem, I'm sure you can work that out in the Financial Aid department". Are you serious?!? So BMC Miami can screw me again! I wish I had been a bit more smarter & cautious about picking a college to attend because after seeing all the reviews and complaints against the college, I never would have attended. Every complaint I read was either the same thing that happened to me, or something similar to what my other classmates were going through. I would not promote BMC, would never, ever, ever, ever, ever recommend someone to go here. I loved most of my professors, well the ones that actually took the time out with student concerns, but in those Financial Aid offices and even corporate employees, don't put in the best effort in financial educating their students. If anyone has any info on receiving help with student complaints please email information to me because I need help with this unresolved conflict @ vickamos@hotmail.com. Thanks.

I attended the BM college in Merrillville, IN. for Surgical Tech. I "graduated" in 2007, when I went to sign up to take the AST test to get my certification I was told I could NOT because they are NOT accredited for this program. I have tried other testing places and was told the same thing. Now I am paying back student loans for an "education" I can't even use. If anyone knows of any type of class action law suit please let me know by email at dpete00@yahoo.com. Thank you

Brown Mackie College Education and dishonesty

I am a current student and had been a student of "the good doctor". I wish to God, I would have investigated this school before signing away thousands of dollars! I consulted with the "good doctor" numerous times about the lack of quality education at BMC. I know for a fact that teachers are told to change grades to keep students. The Good Doctor is a good man and a good teacher and that is why we found out today at school he is gone. I have been lied to by the dean and my chairperson. I even called ACICS "the so called accrediting body" and they flat out lied when I questioned them! I fell betrayed and a fool.

In addition to my earlier comment. I have spoken again with my chairperson and she swears that she would not be there if this school was not reputable. I can not find any concrete proof to substantiate that anything foul is for sure happening at BMC, but it is fishy. I no longer think she is lying to me, and regret saying so, but maybe she might be uninformed?

I graduated from Brown Mackie South Bend Indiana, we had very disrupted classes, 4 of our classes the teachers walked out. We even had one teacher who never taught a class, she even ended up crying and left after only 2 days. we complained and even helped others get through the classes, when we complained the dean said he would find some one to teach and not to cause trouble. I am sure I can contact others from our class and they all would verify what I am saying, and also tell you that getting a job was hard because of the bad reputation, and the cost is horrendous, I should have listen to others and gone to Ivy Tech or IUSB.

Brown Mackie College Scam

A pathetic scam of a school. Getting by with fine print. They do not mention verbally that they charge by quarters. I find this hard to imagine that they can charge a student for classes they never attend. I especially do not understand how if they block you from attending a class they can still charge you for it. I was a good student with good attendance and great expectations. Brown Mackie is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I was sexually harassed by a teacher at this school and the school still has not done anything about it. This teacher is still teaching at the school. Another teacher that was teaching at this school was fired for no reason. This is unfair and unjust.

As a BMC student in Greenville SC, i agree with the fact that they will let anyone in. The problem is that the professors almost feel like if they don't follow the strict school policies then their job is on the line. I know my current professor has a tremendous load upon his shoulders. He seems to be the go to guy. Also these students who are repeatedly asked to pay attentions free ignore it. Here's the real deal... And my honest opinion... Lose the freakin iPads and other technology crap like threaded discussions and go bad to the old way ..with a physical book...written notes.. And class work and homework... It makes more sense. Half of the people wouldn't even go to BMC if the iPad wasn't an option and wasn't included in financial aid. These people are literally taking out 30 thousand dollar loans for a 650 dollar iPad. Accreditation needs to be backed up with proof and I feel...if everyone isn't accepting graduating students from BMC..then there is a problem. The problem lies on both sides..the school and the students. The school needs to be more strict when selecting students to attend... The compass test needs to be done before the first class is taken...just an opinion of mine.

I graduated from Brown Mackie in Akron Ohio a yr ago this June. I have put out endless resumes and applications and not one call. Brown Mackie told me for like every 13 i send out i should get 1 call. Nope none. Every now and then they will send me a lead but nothing. They have even told me to check out craigslist for jobs whats up with that. I have an associate degree in Criminal Justice and it seems that when i send out an application i get a call for more schooling. I actually attended college for almost 3 yrs because i switched from University of Phoenix and they lied to me too. I am a single mom of 2 now I'm in such a debt and no good job. I went to school to better my self and where did it get me nowhere. I would really like to know what can be done about this if anything

I attended BM Cinti for 18 mths was almost finished ready for externship..was a 4.0 student had not failed any classes..had to take a Lab class..their female Lab teacher is a psycho with issues with anyone over 30..shes not right in her head of course Im finally told all this after the fact...each class is 16 days you are pushed hard and fast..this so called "teacher" ( if thats what you wanna call her)failed the entire class.. had to retake..stuck with same psycho..of course we failed yet again..because we failed 2 consecutive times doesnt matter what it is they have working for them..or what kind of student you are or how good your grades are..you are booted out of the program. I am now degreeless, jobless, and 28, 000 in debt..because BM has this weird rule ..and a psycho waiting for you at the end I might add..I was ripped off bad..I paid for my education but not allowed to pay to take the class again with a dfferent teacher..they threw me or us out because of that psycho...trust me I was told by the dept head afterward the teacher has a history of this and asked me to document all this and send it to her ..so that I did, if nothing else that wack job needs ousted..why would they keep her on knowing she does this stuff? and why would they penalize students? MONEY! its all about the green back with Brown Mackie..and ya cant take their credits anywhere.. no colleges recognize them..I now have to start all over again..which means more debt but I refuse to allow that nut job at BM keep me from pursuing what i want to do .. Wish I knew what I know now about this school I would have never waled thru those doors in the first place ..tell everyone you know who might be researching colleges to RUN dont walk as fast as they can away from Brown Mackie Cinti..they are scammers!

Retail pharmacy's will hire almost anyone off the street to train.. and the pay is beyond ridiculous.. almost above minimum wage. I was a pharm tech for cvs for 1 year after being "promoted" from a cashier. The job is a joke... Unfortunately you don't need any type of degree to be a pharm tech... if you used direct loans... there is a thing called "forgiveness loans" or consolidation loans.. i'm currently in the process now of getting my loans reduced or cleared. I went to a private technical college to be a cardiology tech. total waste of time. The job is not in demand and you do not need schooling like a pharm tech for this job. I regret it to this day and may never forgive myself for researching before i went to the school.. I do refuse to pay my student loans until i get something resolved with direct loans. My school was a freaking scam.. i wish i could back anyone away to go there... except for the people on unemployment who get the free ride to learn about ###...

I graduated BMC Cincinnati in 2010 from the Pharmacy Tech. program with honors. I found out after graduating that all I had to do to be a Pharmacy Tech was to buy a $50 book off eBay and study for the PTCB test, and poof! You're a certified Pharmacy Technician. No 2 years of college required, no sitting in classes with a bunch of hookers and drug dealers trying to make a fast buck by getting stipend checks after showing up for 2 classes out of the whole month! Their employee turn-over rate is worse than McDonald's. My Pharmacy teacher had lost his license for embezzlement. The only classes I had there that were even remotely challenging were Anatomy & Physiology II and Chemistry...the rest were no harder than anything I did in high school. I liked the way they have the programs set up (one class a month), but I am still really pissed that I paid $30, 000 for a degree that isn't even worth the paper it's printed on! I'm back in school at a state college doing ALL of those same classes over again, and I want BMC to give me a refund. I have sent numerous emails to Doug Yeager concerning my credits and the fact that NONE of them transferred to my new school (he said if I ever had any problems with that, to call him...yet he never answers my calls!). They did help me write a decent resume, but I found my first pharmacy technician job on my own (the only positions they were able to find for me were in retail, and CVS / Walgreens will hire ANY [censored] with their PTCB certification and all you'll be is a glorified cashier!). Do yourself a favor and just go to Cincinnati State. It's cheaper than UC, but your credits will transfer anywhere you choose to go after, and if you're an in-state student, they won't charge you $300 per credit hour like BMC.

I went to Brown Wackie for one month. I kid you not, I felt like I had jumped back to elementary. They sent me to collections for almost 2000 dollars. Really? Some lady called me asking me why did I quit. I almost cursed her out. I yelled CAUSE YOU GUYS SUCK! She hung up on me, and I moved to to a REAL college. I felt like my "professor" was a dusty looking bum. I was in a computer class learning about nonsense. I hate that school!

Brown Mackie College Terrible experience

I have attended BMC of fort Wayne for more than a year and a half. The first issue I had was in my third month of school. I was in psychology, and the instructor had no experience teaching adult students. As a matter of fact, the only thing that she had ever taught was elementary school. I decided to give her a chance anyway. (after all, BMC was taking care of my education.) In my second week of that class, I had not learned anything at all. At the time, I thought she was the worst teacher that anyone could ever ask for. My classmates and I all went to the dean, about not learning anything in that class and requesting some kind of assistance with it. We were all told that there was nothing that could be done and we needed to stop giving her "attitude" and do our school work.

A few months later I got a notice saying that I qualified for a state grant. I was ecstatic. I gave it a few weeks to post to my account, and then followed up with financial aid. $1150 of free money that I had earned disappeared! It was not applied to my loans and it was not applied to my excess funding check. When I spoke to financial aid about it, I was told that they had not received it and knew nothing about it.

Yet another few months later, I was scheduled to take an independent study class. I was excited about this because I had been teaching myself for quite sometime anyway. On my day of orientation for this class, I was told that all assignments would be in the folder for me in the library on Mondays. I checked the folder prior to leaving and there were no assignments. I came back on Tuesday and there were still no assignments.

I tried to contact the instructor who was in "charge" of the class and could not even get him to reply.

The following week, I don't know why, but I checked my grade for that class and I had gotten zeros on 4 assignments from the first week, that I had not even received. I attempted to speak with the dept chair, the dean, and anyone else that I could get a hold of and no one could seem to help.

This continued until week 3 of my class, and I finally managed to leave work early so that I could find my "instructor" in person. I finally spoke to him in person, and explained that I had left several messages and I was pretty irritated that he would not respond or make sure that I had my assignments. At that point, He told me that he never checks his email, or messages "because there are always so many."

In dismay, I got the assignments from him, and kind of gave up..

There was too little time left in the class to complete all of the assignments, so I did the bare minimum to pass.

After my final grade was posted I was surprised to see a B as my overall grade. I looked at the assignments that were graded and he gave me points for assignments that I did not even turn in.!

My point to this story, is that the education at brown mackie is not even sufficient enough to be considered below average. They do not challenge students in any way, and the majority of the instructors are only there for a paycheck.

After months of this, I finally began checking into other colleges in the area. I knew the most challenging part would be to find a school that would accept BMC's credits. I found a school, and decided to transfer.

now since I had just began a loan term (the first month of three months) I wanted to make sure that I would leave there with out owing any money.

I met with my financial aid advisor and explained that I was leaving, when and why. Then told her that I wanted to make sure that I would not owe any money to BMC because I was leaving after the first month in a term. She and another FA advisor, told me to leave $1500 in my student account and that is what would be refunded to my loan holder and I would not owe any money, thus would not have to worry about a hold being put on my transcripts.

Two weeks after I left, I went into BMC to fill out a request for my 18 months of transcripts to transfer to my new school. I was told that I had a balance due of over $2000, and there was a hold on them until the balance was paid. As livid as I was, I marched down to the financial aid office and asked my advisor what happened. She said "they messed up and sent back all of your loans." I said "what do you mean?" She explained that instead of refunding 2 months worth of loans to my loan holder, they sent back all three.

I tried to contact the business office about the matter and no one would return my phone calls. So I decided to fix it myself. I called my loan holder and explained the situation to them and they were more than willing to send back whatever money that was needed. The next step for me was to contact BMC and and let them know this information. I did just that, and spoke to the assistant director of financial aid. Now let me remind you that these classes are 4 weeks long and it is one class a month. When I spoke to her she said that I had to be in school 30 days before I could be eligible for any student loans. I explained to her that, if that were the case in there class structure, no one would ever qualify for any student loans. It doesn't matter rather it is 3 months or one month, in a 4 week long class you will never meet a 30 day attendance criteria.

She continued to argue with me and then hung up.

I since then have conducted much research on this school, finding out that I am merely one example of how corrupt this school is and how they have left an unimaginable amount of people empty handed and broke, rather it be through blatant fraud, or a lack of a quality education.

Please save your self the biggest mistake of your life, and pursue a degree somewhere else.

Brown Mackie College Occupational Therapy

They have the only Occupational Therapy Program in Atlanta, this is true. THIS SCHOOL IS SOO GHETTO! I"m being taught by people who have never taught before, but you are paying top dollar for a substandard education. You can not trust anything the Academic dean Carla Page says. The good news is that the way you can tell when she is lying, will be when her mouth is moving.Do not look, attend, or even think about going to this school. You will waste your time as well as a ton of money.

The OTA program at Brown Mackie Atlanta is a good program as long as you study, and kiss up to the instructors. Yes, they have their favorites and it is widely known throughout the program. You do work hard and your grades will reflect on how well the instructors like you. The current problem with Brown Mackie is when you graduate( which is another negative comment at a later time), it took the school 4 months to submit the OTA's transcripts to the NBCOT for our class to sit for our exam. Try finding a job after you pass. I have been looking for a job for 6 months with only PRN job offers. The field is flooded in the Atlanta area. The school needs to stop the program because the chance of any new grads finding a job is near impossible after spending 36, 000 for tuition + books and now a required I PAD. Find another career and DO NOT ATTEND BROWN MACKIE in Atlanta. Do not waste your time, money and most important you future in the OTA program, because there are NO jobs out there. Try PTA instead.

I have NEVER liked Brown Mackie and have had several issues with this poor excuse of a college. I will not recommend anyone go there. They are vampires. The teachers are inexperienced idiots. The dean doesn't even return e-mails or calls and has lied to me. I tried to get help with tutoring to no avail. They gave me crap for needing to take off for health problems and for my mother's operation. Then they gave me grief for wanting to take a break from school because I was about to have a nervous breakdown and need some time off to take care of a few things and get my life back into order. They were really nasty. They act like they own you. It is a thrown-together mess. The programs are all made up as they go along. It is a joke. What a nightmare. I wish I could have went to NKU, Thomas More College, or Gateway in Edgewood. What a scam. A very high-priced and low quality, substandard education.

Brown Mackie College - Worst Place Ever

This place is co crazy. It was the one of the most expensive mistakes I have ever made. Let's start with the classes. There are no instructors or teachers. The root word of teacher is "teach" and let me tell you that is definately not what they do. Anything I know I taught myself. The class would consist of the instructor telling you to read 10 chapters in...
