broadview security Horrible service

WORST SERVICE I have ever experienced! I signed up for Broadview/Brinks/ADT...whichever they are going by today...and installation was completed on 7/3/10. On July 11th, one of the zones just stopped working. As it was a Sunday they had no one available to come out and service. I work full-time and can not be here for a 4 hour window so scheduled service for today...8/7/10...the first Saturday they could work me in. They promised that instead of a 4 hour window, they would have a service tech here by 8 am...at 8:30, I called and no one seemed to no what was going on. They did not have my security word spelled correctly in their system which was not a very good indication of their competence. Once they corrected that, the girl had to call the branch in my area as she saw from notes that I was promised a tech by 8 am. That branch did not answer...so for the second time in less than a month I spoke with Matthew, the Supervisor...he called that branch manager who is supposedly having the tech contact me asap and is supposedly enroute to my house...an hour late.

I WOULD NEVER USE THIS "SERVICE" ...I signed a 3-year contract and have every intention of speaking with my corporate attorney about getting out of this contract when I get to work on Monday. Companies think that they are the only ones out there that can provide a service or product that we need and then do not have any follow through whatsoever once they get our money...the only way to get back to a certain level of being taken care of for spending our good money is to make them a bit inconvenienced the way they do to us.

DO NOT USE BROADVIEW/BRINKS/ADT...you will regret it!

If you have a choice in security companies DO NOT go with ADT, formerly Broadview Security and Brinks. After being a customer in excellent standing, we moved outside their coverage area on a mandatory federal transfer and followed every instruction in their policy to the letter. Our contract had not matured, and since we were purchasing a new home at our new domicile, they told us if we provided them with proof that we would be released from the remainder of the contract, equaling $257.00. Despite numerous letters, faxes, phone calls, etc., they ignored everything we sent and insisted we'd moved to a rental property and owed them the $257.00. I would like to know what part of "Purchase Agreement" and "Buyers" they don't quite grasp. And I would really like to know who pays hundreds of thousands to rent a place. Despite our continued effort to resolve this, they reported us to a collection agency. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. THEY ARE UNETHICAL. And somewhere, someone at that company is illiterate.

I received an unsolicited phone call on my business line from a number that traces to ADT/Broadview [protected]). My number is on the Federal and Idaho "Do Not Call" list. Given the complaints on this site I'm glad I let it ring through to my fax line!

broadview security Worst alarm company

Broadview's monitoring service requires connection to landline phone service. Since moving to this house we have tried Time Warner Cable and AT&T landline phone service, and in both cases the phone line repeatedly went dead for extended periods of time, with NO WARNING FROM BROADVIEW. In other words, Broadview's system failed to notify us that our house was not being monitored! Due to the phone line problems we were forced to switch to Vonage. Once informed that Broadview is not compatible with Vonage, we switched alarm companies but Broadview insists on billing us for the remainder of our contract.

Broadview will receive no further payment from me. I was a loyal customer of theirs for many years and when I needed them the most -- WHEN MY PHONE LINE WENT DEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN -- their alarm system uttered not a single beep. If my phone line had been cut by a burglar I would have been robbed blind!

This company has received thousands of dollars in fees from me over 8 years. I was such a loyal customer that when I moved I continued their service. However, when my landline phone stopped working not once, not twice, but MANY times at my new house, Brinks/Broadview FAILED TO WARN ME of this in every instance. Furthermore, after I was forced to switch to Vonage in order to have a working landline phone, Brinks/Broadview INSISTED that I continue paying monitoring fees despite the simple fact that their company was unable to keep up with technology that has been around for several years.

Just wanted to let anyone in the Huntsville area that was considering Broadview Security for their home system to hide your valuables. I purchased their service and the installers came out to install the system. When they left, they left with two of my wife's rings from her jewelery box. Very expensive rings. Never thought that I would have to protect myself from the very company I hired to protect me. Hmm.

You can file your complaint with both Rex Bell at the Huntsville Police Department and with the Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensing If the company that installed your system is Licensed in Alabama, they are bonded and all of their installers have been fingerprinted and background checked. The AESBL will revoke their license if they are found to be stealing jewelry from their customers.

broadview security Predatory billing practices

We decided to cancel service after the contract period expired, Brinks/Broadview charged a $500 "Seized System" disconnect fee to have it disconnected. They also charge $500 to keep the system in your home as an unmonitored unit (perimter arming only). Either way they charge $500 when you cancel service even if the contract is expired. We cancelled after 7 loyal years with Brinks/Broadview and they said it would be $500 to keep the system in our home for unmonitored use. We said we did not want to pay the extra $500 to keep it, so they sent someone out to disconnect it and still charged a $500 "Seized System" Disconnect Fee. When we disputed the charge, they refused to drop the charge and said they'd get back to us in 30-45 days, which is rediculous because they will charge late fees and possibly send to collections during this time.

DO NOT GET A SECURITY SYSTEM FROM BRINKS/BROADVIEW!

If you decide to cancel your service after the contract period expires, Brinks/Broadview charges you $500 as a "Seized System" fee to have it disconnected. They also charge you $500 to keep the system in your home as an unmonitored unit (perimter arming only). Either way they charge you $500 when you cancel service even if the contract is expired. When calling to dispute the charge, they refused to drop the charge and instead said they will review the account and get back to us in 30-45 days. Of course they'll be charging late fees and submitting the bill to collections during that time.
