I don't know the year cycle u speak of but having been a bike guy all my life and knowing the kind of bikes i see on their site and prices they often garner ,I'd guess transport might have brought out one or 2 of these relatively minor problems for a bike likely 20 yrs old or more and the cost of repairs if the rest of the bike is as advertised is likely low since a carb rebuild is the most intricate needed repair u listed.Depending on the bike of course this is probably a couple of hours to do. No 20 yr old bike is gonna not have similar issues and if it's a Beezer or a Trumpet then ur lucky to escape with these insignificant issues when it could've involved the dread English Electrical Grilling or Lucas Genie of Darkness.

Answer this question.. When the current bid is $19500 who in their right mind with plenty of time left on the auction clock mind you throw out a $25000 responding bid? Also no questions or previous bids from the $25000 bidder. I tried to post a comment questioning this and B and T would not post it. This tells me they are a scam!

I bought a motorcycle. The seller misrepresented condition. Indeed the bike I bought could not have been the one presented! BaT has done nothing but tell me that it is buyer responsibility to verify information. They did not even ban the seller from future auctions. Buyer beware!

This is a fraud auction. I was high bid on 7/20/22 for Porsche 911 turbo and time expired during the review somehow a bid came in higher and I was not afforded opportunity to rebid. I believe this is against the rules and regs and I have advised legal counsel to review

Here is my message preventing the community from this Mercedes with a falsified vin number [protected]

Dear BAT community,
I’m Lebanese, living in Europe and dealing with classic cars since 15 years.
Here is my explanation for the Vin’s issue:
The Lebanese documents printed in Arabic (and translated to English) state that the car entered Lebanon on the 16th of November 1989 and not in 2015.
What they did in 2015 is re-newing the temporary Lebanese costums documents issued in 1989 and registering the car(title). Indeed the car never been registered until 2015.

Second important point: In my opinion there were a typing error of the chassis number by the Lebanese customs in 1989: they typed 3 instead of 1 in the 6th digit of the vin. They also missed the zero on the 9th digit. We can understand it is probably an error and not intentional (Vin typing errors did happen in all the countries).

Third point: the car been registered in 2015 prior to the conversion. As the Onwer planned to ship the car outside of the country, he was sure he will not be disturbed by the Lebanese DMV after the conversion.

So the Lebanese owner took advantage of the typing error done in 1989 and did the conversion, which confirm the bad intentions (fraud) of the owner.

However the owner name listed on the Lebanese documents do not mean he’s the last owner or the fraudulent seller.

This fraud didn’t only damaged the US buyer but also the reputation of the Lebanese classic cars community and will soon or later damage again the futures owners when time come to sell.

Please send us a zoom of the 6th digit of the stamped vin. Curious to see if still “1” or they “hide it” or they stamped “3”.

Auctioning a car with a fake vin will encourage others to do same or better frauds. IMO

I have to chime in on this discussion after an *awful* experience with Bring a Trailer, BaT. After jumping through a bunch of hoops to list my 2005 Ferrari 360, I agreed to their reserve and started the auction. I own a car dealership and of course the car is in the showroom and listed on my dealer website... BaT knew this!

Then the bashing started. OMG. It was brutal. You'd think this car was a rust-bucket about to fall apart. It was a very clean, not without it's issues, 14 year old Ferrari. One guy in particular, SAANIK... Then I figured out his game. He makes a low bid, then starts the bashing to scare others away, hoping to get a steal. Then I think there a just a bunch of 20-somethings with nothing more to do than pick apart your ferrari.

But it got worse... While the bashing was going on, a very nice gentleman showed up at the dealership wanting to see the 360, he saw on our website. Small discount and he bought it that day. Yea for me right? Being upfront, I informed BaT and they said that was "strictly against the rules". Sorry, But I didn't know. And moreover, they definitely knew it was listed on our website. At least their local rep did. He used to work for us.

Well, they said I have to undo the deal and direct the customer to BaT. Ha. Deal was done. So the threat was that I would be banned for life (like the soup nazi!), and he would tell the community disparaging things about me as a seller. Ok, I still sold the Ferrari.

So they let the auction go on for two more days. More bashing. Then a day before the auction was to end, they told the community that the seller had broken the rules and misrepresented the car, so they were closing the auction and banning the seller for life. What? Who wouldn't do what I did? Due to the bashing the car was at 40k. I sold it for over 80k. And the guy has stopped by several times since and loves the car.

I would give a big caution to anyone thinking about putting their car on that site. Lies will be told and it will follow you after the auction is over and I guarantee the reserve won't be met! They keep the community forums for each car open forever on each car. So a search will find all of the bashing while you try to sell it somewhere else.

Don't use Bring a Trailer to sell a Ferrari, or any car for that matter. Maybe buy one there... good deals because of the derogatory comments. And I haven't even started with the arrogant attitude of their "ambassadors"!

I just had the exact same experience with Howard Swig. His undervalued reserve for my vintage BMW was sort of a "take it or leave it" deal. Two attempts afterward to "negotiate" went unanswered. I wonder if Randy Noonenberg, CEO of BAT knows that his minions are ruining what I thought was a good reputation.

If you are selling a car, Bring A Trailer consistently undervalues your car, I'm assuming, to guarantee a sale on their website. I have attempted to list 3 different vintage automobiles with the website, all were in excellent condition and provided photo's and video of each car running and driving. The reserve pricing I was quoted by Howard Swig was laughable. When I inquired how they "calculate" their reserve pricing I never received any answer. Do yourself a favor. Sell the car on your own. I did and sold them for quite a bit more than BAT "reserve". Scam city!
