This place has been a nightmare. All we wanted was our family to have cleanings. our insurance pays this 100% including the x-rays. We get a bill for everyone that we owe money! The office manager tells us what kind of services we need, isnt that the job of the dentist? or us? she has been giving us a more expensive cleaning so that we pay...even though we ask for the regular, free one. now I've gone in to ask for our x-rays (which again WE paid for) there are 4 or us. she wants $25 per x-ray to release them to us! I paid for one, and she hands me a black and white photo copy she just printed up...paper and ink must have really gone up. DONT USE BRIGHT NOW IN FEDERAL WAY! They scam you into more expensive cleanings that are not covered by your insurance. then charge for everylittle thing they do

A class action is needed. Bright Now Dental uses shady practices and tried to pressure me into spending $1, 000 while I was in the chair. When I refused they resided me service. I went in to have 2 teeth pulled. I was told I would eventually need to get bone graphs done but the teeth could be pulled without. I went in for my appointment and was told I needed the graphs done that day and would have to pay $500.00 per tooth, a total of $1, 000.00. The doctor, Dr. Hackman told me she would not pull the teeth unless I paid. I expressed my confusion and frustration, in a polite manner, did not curse nor raise my voice. First I was told my appointment would need to be rescheduled. Then the story changed and I was told I would need to go get a second opinion before the doctor would do my procedure. Then the story changed again and I was refused service completely. I was in severe pain and Dr. Hackman refused to see me. No compassion or bedside manner. She is a crook, and Bright Now supports her ways, I have found a handful of others with the same exact complaint about her. Something needs to be done to stop her tyrannical practices.

The front teeth they gave my fiance was too long, and that made all off his bottom teeth grind down to half. They don't carry about customers, just money. We were hoping to find other people they are messing with for a class action. You can contact me at lisastarlite@gmail.com

I am replying to your comments about Bright Now Dental I am interested in a class action they charged me thousands of dollars to put an upper permanent bridge in my mouth the bridge was in less than 2 years fell out of my mouth and broke all my upper teeth down to the gums along with it! I was left with just gums and no upper teeth whatsoever except for one molar on either side of my mouth when I went into the office they tried to blame me and say it was my fault when that absolutely was not true then they asked me for $41,000 to fix it when I told them absolutely Not that they need to fix the damage to my mouth they tried to send me home holding the bridge in my hand with just upper gums and no way to even eat food when I threatened to sue them they glued it back to my gums holding on only with my two molars that were left in my upper mouth and told me it's probably going to fall out again in a few days I could not begin to tell you the stress and anxiety I have been feeling and the fear of eating anything as they told me to only have soft foods like soup and mashed potatoes, they are responsible for the negligent work and I am very interested in the class action suit if someone will answer me back with the way to directly get a hold of them I would be extremely grateful the office I went to was in Los Angeles the Pico and San Vicente office thank you

Bright now dental in norwalk, ca needs to be investigated. I have already filed a complaint against the office. beware of the office manager, liz. she is a scam artist and tells you false information. I went in for a root canal consultation and before I could even see the endodontist she handed me a bill for $1300 dollars. this included the root canal procedure and the crown. when I questioned her about the large amount, she told me she would remove the crown off the bill. the crown was listed for $100. there were also two very large charges that I asked her about. one was for code d3330 - rct obstruction for $593 & d3999 - unspec endo proc. she told me the obstruction is not covered and the other charge was for medicine used during the procedure. medicine! needless to say I contacted my insurance and they told me the obsbruction wasnt covered and the d3999 unspecified procedure, they were not aware of. my insurance company suggested I get a referral from my dentist so that I could get a second opinion. this is when liz told me, they do not give referrals due to they have an endodontist on site. another lie! I have the right to get a second opinion. ultimately, I was able to get the referral after I walked into the dentist office and asked him. I went to have a new consult with another specialist and they charged me $360 for the root canal and $100 for the crown. bright now dental was charging me $1300 for the same thing. beware people and always get a second opinion. it may save you thousands of dollars...

Bright Now Dental should be investigated! They are crooks. I just finished from getting a deep cleaning that they recommended. They told me $380 for the whole mouth and completed my whole mouth in 1 hr. Then when going to pay, they told me $380 is only for half of my mouth. I told them I was under the impression $380 was for the whole mouth. I also have insurance. The front desk lied. I told them if you told me it was for half of my mouth why am I so shocked right now? And why didn’t you have me sign two $380 contracts or just one with the complete total of $760?

I’m furious! They need to be investigated, return money to everyone and be shut down!

I am not paying anything. More research needs to be done.

Not knowing much about dentures, I went to Bright Now Dental to get dentures for my roommate. They gave me an estimate for the extractions and then when my roommate was in the chair (drugged) the surgeon told me it would be a bit more for the teeth pulling because the teeth were deep. Well, it ended up being nearly 4, 000 to extract her upper teeth! I was shocked when I went to the check out! And that was supposedly with a discount from the surgeon. Absolutely outrageous! That, of course was not including the temporary upper plate or the permanent denture which added up to another 1, 000. These people are scammers, cheats and along with it, unfriendly and unprofessional. Don't EVER go this low quality dental chain. It's the McDonald's of the dentist offices.

We've been using Bright Now for the last 2 years, mostly for cleaning and cavities. 3 months ago I needed to see a dentist right away for urgent needs. I was told that the next available time would be in 3 months. I told them I had an urgent situation. Their response: Sorry but the next available time is in 3 months. So I called another place and had to wait just 2 days.
Today (Oct I5, 2013) I needed to reschedule my son's visit because of school conflict. I talked to them and was told that the next available time is in February 2014.
This place takes on more customers than it can handle. So if you are ub an urgent situation you will be left in the cold.
So I am taking my son to the same doctor I am seeing even though it is 10 miles away.
This place books customers as a cheap airline.

Boulder Colorado: I also was told that I have a "serious bone or gum infection" and would need "deep cleaning" at extra cost and they refused to do a regular cleaning and charged the usual fee of course. No other dentist in 20 years ever said that and I brush and floss every day!
I am going to report them to Aetna who has them on the recommended list of dentists.

I wanted I dentist closer to home, so I thought Bright Dental... BAD MISTAKE! The staff is so unprofessional, they are rude to each other and the patients! I went for my cleaning today and it was about 10 mins, they just kept talking about how stacked up they were, so I was just a number because they had me out of there so fast! They would let me sit there drooling and uncomfortable while they argued about other patients. I was even told, you have some polish around your mount, "you might want to stop by the bathroom on the way out to clean it." Seriously?!? I thought tha was their job.
I went to the office in Aurora, CO. I will not be returning. I called my old dentist and asked if I could be put back in their files, I'll drive the extra miles to go to a nice office and caring staff.

This place is committing insurance fraud, they will charge one more if one has insurance. Their response: Don't worry you only pay a small percentage and the co-pay. I don't think that is ok, they claim more money to the insurance company than if one paid out of pocket. I don't think it is right to rip off the insurance providers.

This story is about Bright Now Dental in Surprise, Arizona
I STARTED AT THIS DENTIST OVER A YEAR AGO. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS FROM BILLING TO IMPROPER CROWN PLACEMENT. THIS LAST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED IS INEXCUSEABLE. MY HUSBAND HAD A VERY SORE MOUTH. HE THOUGHT HE HAD A TOOTH ACHE. AT THE TIME THIS OFFICE WAS CLOSE TO HOME AND CONVENIENT. I NOW REGRET THAT DECISION TO TAKE HIM THERE.

ON THURSDAY APRIL 14, HE WAS GIVEN XRAYS AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT HE NEEDED A MOUTH GUARD. THEY TOOK A MOLD AND TOLD THEM IT WOULD BE READY FRIDAY, THAT THEY WOULD CALL WHEN IT WAS READY. NOBODY CALLED FRIDAY, SATURDAY SUNDAY MONDAY OR TUESDAY. SO WEDNESDAY HE DECIDED TO DRIVE OVER TO PICK UP THE GUARD. SURELY IT WOULD BE READY BY NOW. TO HIS SHOCK, THE GIRL AT THE FRONT DESK SAID THAT THE TECH HAD BROKEN THE MOLD AND HE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE MADE. HE ASKED HER WHY NO ONE HAD CALLED HIM TO SAY THIS. SHE SAID THEY WERE JUST ABOUT TO CALL HIM WHEN HE CAME IN. YEAH RIGHT. HE GOT ANOTHER MOLD DONE THAT DAY AND WAS TOLD BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT IT WOULD BE READY FOR PICKUP BY 5:30PM. HE SAID GREAT THAT HIS WIFE GOT OFF AT 5 AND WOULD BE BY TO PICK IT UP. I ARRIVED AT THE OFFICE AT 5:20 TO SEE A YOUNG GIRL LOCKING THE DOOR. I ASKED "YOU''RE NOT LEAVING ARE YOU?" SHE SAID YES, WE CLOSE AT FIVE AND STARTED WALKING TO HER CAR. I ASKED HER "WHAT ABOUT MY HUSBANDS MOUTH GUARD THAT HE WAS TOLD WOULD BE READY TODAY AT 5:30" SHE SAID WE CLOSE AT FIVE ARE YOU SURE HE DIDN'T MEAN 4:30? I TOLD HER NO IT WAS 5:30 AND WOULD SHE MIND GOING IN AND GETTING IT FOR ME. SHE SAID THAT SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IF IT HAD BEEN MADE YET. I WAS LIVID.THIS GIRL WAS NOT CONCERNED ONE BIT ABOUT THE TROUBLE THAT HER OFFICE HAD CAUSED US. NO ONE SEEMED TO CARE ABOUT NEITHER THE PAIN MY HUSBAND WAS IN NOR THE INCONVENIENCE WE HAVE GONE THROUGH TO GET THIS MOUTH GUARD. NO ONE EVER SAID THEY WERE SORRY FOR OUR TROUBLE. NOW I HAVE TO GO DOWN THERE YET AGAIN TO PICK UP THE MOUTH GUARD THAT I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF IT IS READY (ACCORDING TO THE GIRL I SPOKE TO AT 5:20PM) ONCE I GET THE MOUTH GUARD TODAY, WE WILL NEVER GO TO ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR OFFICE AND WILL DO OUR BEST TO TELL ALL OUR FRIENDS OF THE HORRIBLE TREATMENT WE HAVE RECEIVED AT THIS OFFICE. THIS IS A BAD REFLECTION ON YOUR FRANCHISE AND I HOPE YOU KNOW THIS.

BN Dental is trying to jack me for add'l money because I have "recession and gum disease" requiring deep cleanings as opposed to the regular cleanings my insurance pays 100% for. The hygeinist told me that until I'm "cleared" by the dentist for routine cleanings, I will always need deep cleanings at an add'l cost to me. What a rip off! In all my years of having dental cleanings, this is a new one. I will also be notifying my insurance company. I wish I had read this blog before my appt.

I suppose if you pay cash like I did you have a wonderful experience like I did? Money talks, but I got my tooth pulled and everyone was so nice------different perceptions and views I suppose---and of course I had a different procedure done.
I also am one of those people that don't want to be all warm and fuzzy about what is going to happen to me when I get a tooth yanked out.
If I lived on the farm (LOL) I would just get a pair of pliers and do it myself.
From reading these other blogs I guess I am glad I through a bit of cash at them to remove my tooth---which by the way (tooth extraction) was by far cheaper than any place in the greater Seattle and Tacoma area.
I give them 5 stars---------Federal way one.

I went to the Bright Now in Puyallup, WA - what a terrible experience, luckily I was able to split before any service was actually done. I will not go to a dental-factory where I am on a conveyor belt with other patients. Ads everywhere, snotty employees who don't seem to care about anything, and they made me watch a DVD to learn about my procedure? What happended to sitting down with an actual dentist? This place represents everything that is evil about mass-production corporate dentistry. What a bunch of soul-less [censored]s.

I think it's safe to say that the people posting here are not complaining about the dentists/hygenists recommending the work they "need" to have done... I think it is the fact in itself that this company IS only concerned about stealing your cash. They DO overcharge on EVERY procedure and co-pay, their Customer Service department is non-existant, and they DO engage in fraudulent activities such as insurance fraud. I know this as a customer who has been dealing with ALL of what I've referenced above, and it's very frustrating. They've cashed MY insurance reimbursement check and REFUSE to refund the money to me. I'm in the process of suing them and hope to collect interest on the $950 of mine that they've had since FEBRUARY. So to all of the people posting rebuttals to the comments/complaints of the people in this forum, please give them the benefit of the doubt. Unless you've personally interacted with this company on a regular basis you have no right to interfere with everyone else's warnings to the general public. And if you ARE one of the RARE people with positive things to say about Bright Now / Monarch Dental, come back here after you've had some major work done (i.e. surgery, orthodontics, etc.) and see if you still feel the same way. My guess is you will not.

Scam, scam, scam. My husband and I go there along with my two young children. My husband, who has never had any problems with his teeth, was told he needs the deep cleaning because of disease. They told me the same as well as two other people that I know the same thing. Matter of fact, the sales tactic (show a video and leave the room for me to watch about how bad my teeth are) were the same for all of us. I had tried to schedule my 2nd cleaning and they won't schedule it unless I get a deep cleaning. I refused it again and said that I know I have the right to refuse it and I want a regular cleaning. They said I can only refuse it one time in which I already did at my first appointment. What? Stay away, far away. I am calling my insurance company and letting them know what's going on. It's a rip off in a big way. Sadly, I had a great (regular) cleaning the first time. That's all I want again but the receptionist whispered softly over the counter that I have an "infection". Although this was cued to be said by a technician standing behind her as they looked at my account. They probably realized I wasn't suckered into yet. I refuse, refuse, refuse. RIP OFF! Bad business. And yes, I always go 2x yearly to a dentist, take very good care of my teeth. First time EVER I wasn't "allowed" to have a regular cleaning because they want to numb my gums and give me a deep cleaning. Bright now dental can kiss my bright now a_ _.

I had a very expensive upper partial made & the dentist said, it was going to be just like my own teeth & I could eat anything w/them. It has broken 3 times before a year. I am so disgusted, I did want a new one after the second break, but they said, it would be reinforced & not to worry, well after 5 months I was eating a piece of chicken & the tooth broke...I am also going to seek legal help...

I just went to Bright Now Dental yesterday. My teeth are in excellent shape, I brush and floss regularly and eat healthy foods. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 6 years because I didn't have dental insurance. But since I am newly employed with a company that provides dental insurance to all employees, I decided to take advantage of my free xray and cleaning. So anyways I looked online and found a doctor in my area that accepted my insurance and called the number to schedule an appointment. The woman scheduled me right away and I was able to get in the next day. When I got to the clinic I was taken back to get 20 xrays and then placed in a dental chair to wait for the dentist. It was an unusual place in that there were multiple dental chairs, like 20 or more. The dentist arrived and looked briefly at my xrays and then did a oral exam. I had no cavities and he wanted to schedule my yearly cleaning. I agreed and also told him I would like to get a new night guard since the one I was using was several years old he said sure and then rushed off.

They had me go to the front desk and they printed me out a bill for the night guard, and wanted me to schedule my cleaning. I was hesitant to do so I my gut impression of the place was that they rush you through the 20 xrays procedure (the one you can only get once every five years) to get money for that and then they they rush a dentist to your chair for 2-3 min before they rotate to the next patient. I thought to myself "Now they have control over your xrays." This place has a clear hustle scam business model that has nothing to do with the severity of decay of a person's teeth and has absolutely nothing to do with a person's insurance company. This place has one thing in mind and that is to get as many people in as possible and spend as little time as possible with each patient.

I deal with people like you every day… I want my free cleaning… I want my free cleaning…. I want.. I want… Well, if you had your free cleaning all the time you would have healthy gums! Than you could have your “prophy” but nope you need a gross scale, a little perio maintenance, maybe some arestin? These are what’s required to clean up your dirty mouth… Oh yes, now you want your free cleaning! When you’ve realized, Oh I need dental insurance because my teeth are falling out of my head! Unfortunately, dental insurance providers do not perform an oral check up prior to coverage. They just take your money and than tell you to go to the dentist and get your free cleaning, sucker… They know most likely your going to need more than that because the majority of people haven’t visited the dentist for a hundred years until they feel some pain. Wake up! Are you now enlightened, probably not… You already made the poor people at the office have a hellish day. Go out and educate yourself and get a second opinion if your not happy… I can’t speak for this company nor do I work for them but I can tell you that what most insurance companies cover in regards to dental hygiene is crap! Why because it is not as important as a filling or a crown ect… Cleanings are called preventative in the insurance world! Yes, I have even wondered is this a dental scam? Most likely no! If your dentist diagnosed you with a particular type of cleaning that is beyond what your insurance covers than complain to your insurance company! Get up off your frumpy dumpy butt! Go out there and purchase better dental coverage if your mouth is a mess… Don’t just sit there and complain about the dental company. Yes, you have to pay for x-rays! There is a thing called business overhead such as fixed and variable costs. Don’t be such a simpleton… and stop wasting everybody’s time with your incessant whining you pansy!

YUP! This place is a bunch of scam artists. I scheduled a cleaning/checkup, went in got my x-rays, was left alone for over a half hour in the dentist chair wondering why no one was cleaning my teeth. Dentist came back and said I had gum problems and needed to schedule a deep cleaning, and I was like isn't that why I'm here, to get my teeth cleaned? I scheduled to get my teeth cleaned. They hire fresh off the boat high school skill center grads that are not trained in cleaning teeth. I told them they wasted my time and I will only pay the $39 for the x-rays and not to bill my insurance since they didn't do anything. They wanted $25 to give me my x-rays. I was so heated the office manager had to come out, told me she would waive the fee. I thanked them for wasting my time and letting me take time off work for an uneventful dentist appt and they would never see me again. Stay away!

This person is right! Something simliar happen to me I went to one their offices for a root canel and I was told my insurance wouldn't cover it so they offered my one of their credit cards. I was told to wait two weeks for the crown. I called several times to follow-up and I was told by the staff that I would get a call when it was ready. After waiting more than a month. I had no other option but to go to another Dentist that my insurance referred me to. month went by and received a statement from the credit card billing me for the crown that I NO NOT HAVE. I called the office and spoke with the manager (Nancy). After I had been on hold for several minutes, she came on the line. I had to explain my problem to her several times because she did not seem to be listening and therefore asked me the same questions repeatedly. put me on hold for several minutes, and then returned to say she could not help me and hung up. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated. She was very unprofessional and rude. I have never experience this type service. I filed a complaint to their corporate and a week later got a email back stating someone would contact me. No one did I have to follow up with them. Now Im taking legal action. Very unproffesional company.
