I have been waiting for approx 2 weeks to get a service person to honor my extended with the brick. I have been given the push around from the need to Call the brick customer service to calling King and State directly who in turn directed me to call Trans global and Home Appliance Repairs Mississauga.
Where does it end. I have a house fill of children and guests with no working dryer

Walking from Chicago to Toronto is quicker than getting King and State on the phone and having them attend and resolve to request filled out in their website.

We purchased extended warranty on 65" Tv. Finally got through to King and State and we're just getting a run around. We have a new Tv lined up with Leon's. The service with King and State is very questionable. Instead of peace of mind forget about a warranty. It's a lot of hassle but I'm not giving up.

Won't fix my washer due to parts being worth more than the washer... so the only option is to refund the price of my warranty. So what's the point of buying extended warranty either fix it or replace it.

Kingandstate is the worst company to deal with. I have a Samsung fridge that keeps leaking water into the veggie drawers. They eventually come out (after numerous calls and emails) and apparently fix it only to have the problem persist after only a month. It’s virtually impossible to get ahold of anyone on the phone and emails are never returned. The brick should really rethink who they pass their customers onto.

My tv broke and it took forever just to get to a working number for kingand State the brick needs to get a new company for there ext warranty as they don't even have a working number on the warranty papers the number is out of order I emailed and emailed King and state finely they got a repair guy to come get my tv .who told them the tv is not fixable so again I have had to try again and again fine they offered 350 credit at where I got my tv the brick I told them that's a bs offer cause they would have paid the repair guy upto 600 to fix it as he told me.but yet I get 350 I was told nothing I did or do will get me more so I had no choice but to say yes .then I was told the credit will be at the brick in prince george bc where I got my tv with in 48 hrs well that was over 4days ago ..oh and I only have 30days to use the 350 for a tv or I get nothing ..B.S..again and now I have not received my credit and I can't not reach them again I waited for over 3 hrs on hold on one call ..what bs ..now I don't know when this 30days starts if it's when I agreed or when the brick receives the credit but if I don't get a tv soon I am calling a lawyer

In case you haven’t figured it all out yet…the warranty and repair company are both owned by The Brick! It is a huge scam they have going…and clearly needs looking into! The Trans Global appliance service company…comes out to basically pretend to fix something, Then you figure out it’s still broken and have to start a claim all over again . So the cycle goes 1-2 times more until…the low ball offer to receive an in-store credit only… towards a new appliance, that is less than 2 years old! You shell out more cash to replace an appliance that is completely fixable! This happened to me TWICE! Once was my Electrolux washer …and the other is my Electrolux Icon All Fridge! My fridge is only 2 years old at the time I make my claim! Trans Global sends out a repair man..,he orders parts we supposedly need! This takes 8 months of several follow up calls, waiting for these parts! Finally repair day comes parts are in…guy comes out supposedly fixes problem in 15 minutes! Wow we have been waiting 8 months without a working fridge for a 15 minute repair? If it sounds to good to be true it is! Guy leaves…I give the fridge 3 hours to cool itself! Nope! Nothing! Big surprise still broken! After many more calls to King and State …I hire 2 repair guys myself! Within minutes .. without even looking at the fridge yet…they know it’s the compressor! Yup you guessed it…we waited for 8 months for parts we didn’t even need! Sent photo of the issue to king and state and called them out on the scam…they have going! Still waiting for a resolution but…the moral of all of these stories is…DO NOT EVER PURCHASE FROM THE BRICK AGAIN! RUN AWAY NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE DEAL MIGHT SEEM! GO ANYWHERE ELSE…Also LEONS IS THE SAME COMPANY SO AVOID IT AS WELL!

I have the exact same problem. Guy comes in takes a picture of the sticker in the fridge. Asked if he was going to at least take a look to see what the problem is, his reply was that he is so experienced that he just has to open the fridge to see that the compressor is gone. A month later comes and changes the mother board saying I have the compressor in the vehicle but the mother board will fix the problem. Fridge in same condition as day one. So frustrating.

Extended Warranty = Sucker. My stove isn't even 2 years old and the glass cracked on top from use and King and State does not want to cover it because they can't fix the problem. I will never get the warranty again nor will I ever shop at the Brick because of this. King and State is the worse company ever too, they never return your calls, horrible customer service... All they do is try and not help you hoping you'll just go away and they can keep your money.

Stick with the manufacturers warranty and take the risk after because this is nothing but a waste of time, money and a huge headache!

2 months without a washer. worst service ever. rude and doesn't actually want to honour the warranty. doesn't want to replace. Delay after delay. I hope you go bankrupt. You are worse than scum. Due to Covid or your retardedness isn't an excuse. Fix the machine. How you got the contract and won't service things is beyond me. Giving me an 8 hour window after 2 months. Come one narrow it down to like 4.

We have been waiting for almost a couple of years now to get the command board of our washer fixed under our King and State warranty, purchased at The Brick in Montreal west-island.

The technician came once, found nothing to be worried about, of course, gave us many explanations for why our "Maytag Commercial Technology model #MVWB955FC1" washer was acting the way it is and he was gone. The washer is very capricious so beware of this model: it won't start, even after unplugging the unit and waiting, or sometimes won't turn off, it often stops filling with water in the middle of a cycle, won't spin water out completely other times, and more...it's ridiculous!

We finally received a phone call from a technicien 2 months ago saying that he would get to us in one week. In times of Covid, we get that things might slow down but we started this process before Covid! At least, we could have received a pjone call explaining why the delay.

In the mean time, problems got worse and now our washer works even less, leaving me to dry my family's clothes at my cousin at 15 km from here 3 times out if 4.

I ABSOLUTELY DO BOT RECOMMEND BYUING YHA KING AND STATE WARRANTY OR THAT MAYTAG WASHER MODEL!

WOW! That's an extremely nice model of washer -- it's actually over 6 cubic feet of washing power. Most people would love to have one.

Intermittent issues are always the most difficult to service. Not only is it difficult to determine what the problem is, it is equally difficult to know when the problem is fixed. I'd suggest keeping a written record of exactly what happens and under what circumstances. It can help lead to a final solution.

I purchased a Bosh Diswasher with extended warranty. I have been washing our own dishes now for 2 months, The Brick does very little to honour this warranty. Took 4 weeks to get anyone even to look at it, and now another 4 weeks after that, they have gone dark.

Extended warranty from King & state not worth the paper it's written on. They drag their feet on claim's, especially if issue is serious. Purchased washer and drier from Leons and they sell the extended warranty and then was their hands of any issues that arise. King and State will look after minor issues with some nagging, but anything serious is and remains unresolved after more than a month. Virtually impossible to talk to someone and communication back to you, though promised, is non existent. Learned two things, never buy appliances from Leons, or any other appliance dealer (ie the Brick)that contracts their extended warranty through King & State.

Wow, I wish I saw this prior to purchasing anything from Leons and the king and state warranty. I’m in the same boat as everyone else here... Here I sit waiting for parts ...apparently...which is truly amazing seeing as A technician has yet to enter my home or call. Here we are 5 days later no fridge! Very sad so many people have dealt with this treatment and nothing has changed.

I'm in the same situation as everyone else. "Sitting" on the phone for HOURS waiting for someone to pick up. They're ALWAYS "experiencing an unusually high volume of calls". I'm pretty close to walk into The Brick and deal with them on spot.

I’m currently facing the same issue. I’ve had my Samsung Range for 3.5 yrs now. I contacted the brick back in March about the two front burners overheating even on low. I was directed to King&State who had Transglobal service come in and assess the stove. It was a 2week wait between when we contacted them and when the assessment was done. We were told it would take some time to get the necessary pars to fix the stove. 5 weeks later the technician from Transglobal came to fix it (so we thought). Only for us to be told they had ordered the wrong part and to wait for further instructions from the head office. We didn’t hear back from them despite making several attempts. Only to be informed by Transglobal secretive that King&State had said the required parts are no longer manufactured and that they had offered us a 59% discount towards purchasing another stove. Mind you King&State hadn’t in fact notified us about this. We’ve since been getting the run around from The Brick and King&State. We’ve tried to reach King&State all day however our calls some how are ended after being on hold for what appears to feel like forever. I am not interested in the discount. I want my stove fixed or replaced. What the essence of having the extended warranty if it doesn’t do what it’s intended to do?

We will NEVER purchase an appliance from Leons again! King and State is the absolute worst company we have EVER had to deal with. Their extended "warranty" is a joke and they are a nightmare!

We have had our washer for less than three years and have already had to call for issues on it 4 times!
When I say call I mean call Leon's first because your call cannot be completed from Canada to the Caribbean, even the Leon's Customer service representative has advised that they have a hard time calling them as well.

SO once you do hear from them they tell you to fill out a form online and that they will get back to you in something like 72 hours. THEN once the repair tech gets scheduled it takes them 2 weeks to come to your home to assess the issues. 72 hours + 2 weeks JUST to get someone to take a look at the machine is completely ridiculous!
So now we have to hope and wait that the parts don't take too long to come in and even if they are in again the repair company is booking two weeks out so you are literally waiting now for at least a month.

Here is our story:

On December 7th 2020 our washing machine leaked all over our floor and just stopped working, it was a mess! When we finally got through to King and State they it was almost 5 days later. Then when the repair shop called they advised that they could have someone come in on Jan 4, 2021 to take a look at the machine. My jaw dropped, I could not believe that I would have to wait almost a month to have someone come in to just look at the machine.

When they did arrive they advised that it needed two parts and that they would have to order them. It was then another month before the parts arrived and they "fixed" the machine on February 3rd 2021.

On March 8th the machine stopped working again, it wouldn't drain or spin so we went through the entire painstaking process again with King and State.
They scheduled a technician to come in on March 17th he advised it needed a new pump and front panel board advised that it was in stock and came back today on March 24th to repair it.

The technician was here today for about thirty minutes, did the repair and left, about two hours later I tried washing a load of clothes and it would not drain or spin again!

So here we are again, in just a little over three months our machine has broken 3 times and every time we speak to KING AND STATE they try to shift the blame on to us, tell us that we have to be patient and have a very non caring attitude towards what we are dealing with.

We are a family of 5 with 3 busy kids. I have been travelling to my parents house 25 minutes away daily, 7 days a week to wash 2-3 loads of laundry. It is taking its tole on me and I am done!
We have paid money for an extended warranty that is literally useless! I am spending more money on gas travelling everyday to do laundry somewhere else.

After seeing the other comments I cannot believe that they are still in business.
We have lived and learned and we will definitely NOT be going back to Leon's for appliances and we will CERTAINLY be steering clear of anything to do with King and State.

Do not buy extended warranty from King State!
I bought a washing machine in October 2018 at The Brick since then it has had several repairs. My machine broke down again 3 months ago! I called the service immediately and it took 1 month and a half for the technician to come and tell us is the motherboard, the part will be here in a week..well I have called many times, Sent
many emails and waited on the phone for an hour for them to hang up. The service they provide is deplorable, inefficient and they made you feel that they are making you a favor by honoring your paid warranty.
DO NOT BUY THEIR INSURANCE PLEASE!
My warranty will be finished soon and it seems they are acting in bad faith giving me the run around.
I am very dissatisfied with their service. Do not waste your money buying their warranty.
You will be very frustrated.

Total Nightmare! Should be reported to the local news channel ! How do they get away with this crappy service?! How can the Brock sell this so called warranty that warrants nothing! Takes for ever to get anywhere with the products and service we already paid for!

Complete nightmare!

Been dealing with the Kitchen Aid fridge ever since we bought it…. I have one more chance to get them here before the warranty expires!

Apparently, the warranty does not cover a new fridge even though it’s a manufacturer defect! Complete joke!

Our house is a new build up it’s appliances that are not going to last 5 years!

Unfortunately, I am in the same situation. Our 2 year old LG Refrigerator which I bought a Leons, The Bricks parent company, broke down on December 30th and it was nearly impossible to get in touch with King and State. I waited and waited on the phone just for them to disconnect the call. At first, I thought nothing of it but after calling back more than 5 times, I realize this is purposely been done. I submitted an online claim which they responded to and set up a service call 4 days after with Trans Global. Two technicians showed, ran a test, and left saying they need to order parts without any timeliness. We have children and a baby in our home, we have nowhere to put baby formula, milk, eggs, or food. I hopelessly tried calling back to see my luck but again the call dropped after about 30 minutes. Since Leons own King And State I tried calling them without any success and am still waiting for customer service to get back. Here is a link to file a complaint with the Ontario Consumer Protection Act https://www.ontario.ca/page/filing-consumer-complaint#section-1

I have had this LG washer and dryer for 2 yrs and bought the extended warranty. I can never get through and If I do they hang up the phone. It seems the last two times I called it’s been the same person and do not answer emails. Every time I they have come in a couple of weeks later there is another problem and have to go through this process all over again and sometimes an issue arises a third time. I love the guy that comes in and fixes it. He is really a nice guy but is he the only one doing all these jobs? Do they only have one person to answer phones especially with the “we are having higher than normal calls” [censored]. I am on hold now for 40mins and prior to that 45 mins and they hung up. While I’m sitting on hold there has been no music but it stills shows connected. I am so pissed off with this crap. How can they even be allowed to operate like this? The brick is a joke and they don’t give a [censored] about any issues because they made their commission and it’s not their problem. I don’t get it, how many people have written, emailed and complained and the brick still uses them. There has to be a reason why and I’m going to bloody find out.

I have the same problem. King & State is a horrible company. I am waiting for a fuse to be replaced in my microwave now for 5 weeks. King & State forwarded me to TransGlobal, who then scheduled for replacing the part with Quik Repair. Quik Repair service is pathetic. Finally after 5 weeks of wait, this last Monday the technician was supposed to come in to replace the fuse. He calls me in the morning and very easily tells me that he forgot the part in his office and will not be coming in. He further told me that he cannot give me a time when he would come next. I was very upset but technician had no concern and did not even apologize. I called TransGlobal again to complain about the technician; they were least bothered. The only excuse the agent had was that he is sitting in a contact center in Edmonton and cannot do much. He then asked me to contact King & State again. And as you know the call never gets through at King& State.

It does not feel as if we are living in a developed country like Canada, where irresponsible companies like King & State and TransGlobal and Quik Repair are allowed to operate.

I request the consumer agency of Canada to kindly look into all the above complaints and cancel the license of King & State, Transglobal and Quik Repair (Toronto, ON)

Going through all these comments, I am finding myself dumb for not seeing the reviews on this site. I am a big big big sufferer. My refrigerator broke, unfortunately bought from The Brick, exactly two weeks back. Obviously, I was also told to contact King & State. They have the poorest customer service standards, I would say. They pick up the phone in the morning only. It means you have lost the day if you want to talk to them in the afternoon. They are totally not adjusting people as they are unable to satisfy my queries. They don't have their manager or supervisor to whom you can talk. For this request you need to wait for 24-48 hours. Wow! A customer suffering since last fortnight, who is having extended warranty whose fridge needs only a change of compressor in these unprecedented times has to wait for two more days to talk to a senior person if they are not satisfied with the response of the customer care agent.
I see hardly any complaints are responded here. This shows how much they value their customers. I don't find any use of wasting my time here. Just a suggestion for a new customer - Don't go to Brick Store or any other store who have their warranty feature working with King & State.

I have been trying to contact King and State for our extended warranty claim on our microwave for 3 days now. Leon’s was of no help. I called LG directly and we figured out what was wrong. But because of our so-called extended warranty I held off going with LG’s repair service. Leon’s extended warranty is a joke! We were robbed!

Bought a Samsung fridge from the brick in 2016 with extended warranty, early spring the compressor went it took King and State over 3 months to have it fixed after repeated calling, being put on hold or cut off. In October the fridge went again took King and State a month after repeated calling to have a service rep come to look at and state the mother board has gone need to order one. Called King and State first week in December to find out status of part, "on order do not know when it will be in". Called today almost 2 weeks later to King and State just to be told that the fridge was fixed and the work order was closed. I have a very large footlocker in my kitchen that was never fix and the rep stated that she will call back after she looks into this matter. Still waiting for the call and the fridge has not been fix.

My dishwasher broke at the start of September and still being given the run around 3 month later despite having paid for a 4 year warranty. Issues appears to be a dispute on the costs charged by the appliance repair company on their first visit and king and state warranty company. Have raised a formal complaint with their Head of Legal ([gnakonechny@thebrick.com] but have yet to receive any response from the Brick. Next steps are to a) raise a complaint with the better business bureau b) write to the Attorney General of Canada requesting that the Department of Justice formally investigate this warranty issues given the issues noted above, c) proceed with a small court claim and d) contact the media to see if any one wants to cover this warranty scam story.

Please let me know if you would be interested in joining me for a media interview or even if you wanted to join forces for a class action law suit.

My LG Fridge has been broken for almost 10 days now - no response from King & State until today - looks like I'll be without for sometime - good thing it is only the icemaker, but I won't be purchasing extended warranty again. Brick is useless.

A few weeks ago, my grandmother’s oven stopped working properly (smells like burning rubber, baking option is only broiling) and she called Leon’s regarding her warranty. The woman that she spoke to — she didn’t get her name — gave her the number to call and when she called it, the person said that it was the wrong number. She called Leon’s back and they confirmed the phone number, but when she explained to them that it was the wrong number when called, they said, “Well, I’m not sure then. The warrant isn’t with Leon’s, it’s with an outside company.” That was it. No further assistance offered.

So we found the number for King & State and spent the remainder of the day on hold (calling non-stop between 10am to 4pm EST), and their automated system would keep us on hold for nearly a half hour, then say to leave a message for callback. However, this was followed by a message that the voicemail was full, and then the call would disconnect. She tried for TWO DAYS with the same results. I even sent an email (and a second follow-up email) on her behalf, and did not receive a response until FIVE days later, and from Barbados.

When they finally responded, there was no apology, just, “Can you please provide us with the following, to proceed with the dispatching of a technician?” followed by a request for the information about the stove. Without even acknowledgement that they had received the information that I emailed back promptly, I followed-up AGAIN two days later to ensure that they had received the information, to which they responded a scheduled date for the service technician to arrive.

The day that he was expected to arrive, he called my grandmother and said he was too busy and would come back the following day in “the morning or early afternoon”. However, it was not until dinnertime that he arrived the following day. During this lapse of time where he had not arrived, I sent an email to King & State to see if the technician was still coming. Without a response to my email, the technician, as I mentioned, arrived late. When my grandmother explained what was wrong with the oven, he actually had no idea what the difference between broil and bake was, and had to call someone to ask for clarification (that person did not know either). He then admitted that he still didn’t understand what was wrong and said, “I’ll just reset the stove and that should work.” However, it didn’t work and he had already left the house.

TWO DAYS later, after the King & State responded to my email stating that the technician had actually scheduled himself to come on the 20th (yesterday). They had not even provided us with a time slot, so we stayed home all day waiting around for the tech to come, yet he never showed up. As well, there was no record that the last guy had actually shown up to our house and did not know what to do. I explained the situation and asked for someone to come in on the 20th who could actually help fix the stove that we have now gone 20 days without being able to use. It has been over two days since I sent my last email and there has been no response, nor a technician sent on the day that they said he would be.

When I looked up reviews of King & State online, it seems that this is not uncommon, and that this company (not even based in Canada) is general unresponsive and unhelpful.

I was given the email for king and state, which they seem to answer the same day. Email customercare@kingandstate.com. My washing machine broke today (bought at Leon’s) and it will take over a week to get someone to look at it. When I received my response it was from Barbados.

My other appliances are covered under trans global and I have never had to wait over a week to get someone in to look at it. But I guess if they are flying them in from Barbados then maybe that’s what takes the time...lol

Its interesting you say you got a response from Barbados...i just called the brick to open a service call for my fridge and they advised me that it has to go through Kingandstate - however, the owners may be in barbados - i think she said they were due back yesterday? but unable to get back due to a storm? was told to give them a try but if no answer to give it a few days?

I have had a pile of problems with my samsung fridge. King and State is horrible to deal with. I have complained to the Brick, but they have not replied to my email that I sent them 6 weeks ago. Carl and Alicia are the supervisors at King and State, but they won't come to the phone when you ask for them. You are on hold an average of 45 minutes. Sometimes so long it hangs up. If you email them, they don't reply for almost 2 weeks, and with the wrong information. They will only warranty your product 3 times, then it is void. It is ridiculous and The Brick should be ashamed.

OMG I've been reading everyone's comments and am near tears with frustratated laughter. I too, have been trying to get through to someone at King & State for the last three days. I even called Transglobal (they are the Brick's warranty people if your appliance is under one year old) who were going to email King & State to call me. That was two days ago and you guessed it, no call. So I called Transglobal again today who are going to email King & State again. I asked them to escalate my request or to speak with a supervisor but apparently neither is possible. I have no faith that anyone is going to call me. How are businesses allowed to take our money and not provide service in return? Where do we live? How is this happening? What can we do?

How do people actually get through to this company? I have called 14 times today and been on hold for over 3 hours and still haven't talked to anyone. This is shameful.

Called about our broken dishwasher today June 21st, and first of all we had to wait on hold forever, then finally got through to the company. They informed us that our extended warranty didn't cover the broken rack on our dishwasher despite the fact that it states plainly in the contract that the warranty covers parts. They told us to take it up with The Brick, who told us to take it up with King and State. The representative conveniently stated that they pick and choose which parts they cover under the warranty and the RACK isn't considered a PART!

We are very angry and frustrated with their lack of service, professionalism and the fact that this company is a SCAM.
We will be reporting them to BBB, and taking it up with lawyers as we paid good money for warranty coverage and nowhere does it state that a rack isn't considered a PART.

DO NOT USE KING AND STATE. Share this far and wide. They are horrible to deal with and to not honour any contracts.

2 weeks ago I phoned King & State about my broken dryer. On the Friday of that week a repairman was sent to my home. He was very polite and informative. He told me my dryer needed a new motor. He ordered the motor on his phone and said when the part comes in the company will call me and he will be back to install it. Less than a week later on the Thursday the part came in and the company called to schedule the repairman to come and install it. On Monday he came and installed the new motor. I'm so pleased with the service that I received from King & State and I'm very happy to have my dryer fixed.

What phone number did you use to call King & State? No one ever answers when I call.

Into my 3rd year of a 4 year warranty for a broken washer. Repair person's been out twice and is scheduled for a 3rd trip next week. Each visit takes over a week. I'm pushing nearly a month now without a washer. King and State arranged for repair man to come out to house yesterday so my wife took the day off work to be home. No one had showed by 3pm so she called King & State to see what the issue was. They assured repair man would be there before 4pm and told my wife to call repair company to confirm. The repair company said they never received any info about the repair visit and that the visit was scheduled for the week after instead. I even called King & State as well a few days before this to confirm the visit. They told me as well that everything was on schedule. They've lied to my wife and lied to me. I've made several calls to King and State to speak with a manager and every time they tell me she has stepped out and will call me back. She has not once called me back and what makes me even more frustrated is that I ask the customer support on the line from King and State to make me a promise that the manager will call me. Three times I've received that promise and three times they have broken that promise. They will not even call me back to apologize for lying or apologize for my wife taking a day off of work unpaid for nothing. I promise everyone reading this that I will never step foot in another Leon's store or purchase a Leon's product again. I will make sure that the incompetence of King and States service is known to every person I engage into a conversation with. To the manager of King and State that never called me back: "May you rent the movie Wizard of Oz and pay special attention to the Cowardly Lion. You might take away a life lesson from this film". My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau and to my lawyer.
