Bribri Marketing LLC Unauthorized charges on my bank account

These charges from Bribri Marketing all of a sudden showed up on my bank account as a check card withdrawal on 5/18/09 in the amount of $39.95. Who in the heck are these people?

It is used for porn sites, but they seem to be better known for scams. If you've had the card for a while you might want to check if it was provided by a company using Heartland security (or any other company that has had similar problems). I did some searching and just that security breach seems to be responsible for a several year long scam ran through bribri. I'm not saying they're responsible for it themselves, but they certainly aren't picky about who they do business with...

When I filed a police report and my bank looked into the charges they also told me they were fraudulent. I also know my charges were a scam because (and I'm not saying this to get any online 'offers'--so please don't) my husband and I are swingers, he certainly wouldn't need to lie to me about some online porn site :) . So, your credit card user might not be to blame.

It's used for Porn sites, but it is also used for jobs. I tried to apply for this blogger job, evaluating porn sites and used my card# for signing up, which I thought would just be for the free trial period. Upon noticing that it was a scam I tried to cancel my account, but the page website offers no way to do that. No phone numbers, no e-mail accounts, nothing. There was no on with whom I could cancel my account. They are tied to this website web-freecheck.com that bills you for this cost. Today I just called their number and entered my information and canceled my account, and hopefully that will solve things. This is such an awful scam. Never give your info out online unless the website is well known.

Can everyone on here verify that thre was somoene that coul've used the credit cards for porn sites? I want to make sure that ths is what the "bribri mrketing" thing is before my credit card "user" is confronted on this... So please, if anyone has gotten confessions on the porn site users, please and thankyou let me know as soon as you can... I have well over a hundred dollars used on my credit card, and it DOES make sense about the whole porn site thing... So please let me know guys...
Thanks alot!

I got one of these $39.95 charges... Turns out it's for an adult website. (time to have a talk with my SON!)

If you call the bank, they should give you a phone number. The one I got was [protected].
The gentleman I talked to gave me the name on the account (my son's) and the e-mail address (also my son's), and said they would reverse the charges.

Hopefully this will resolve things. It seems they're a 3rd party billing company for websites. If you get a charge from them, chances are pretty good somebody is using your card to view adult websites.

Hope this info helps someone!

My husband's card was charged 39.95 from bribri marketing llc earlier this week. He called [protected] and sat on hold for a half hour, but did eventually get through. They also had his email address and said they would cancel his account (without ever telling him what the account was for), then hung up. We've filed a police report, but I'm wondering if anyone has also gotten charges from achlogs.com or cert5net.com? He was charged 39.95 from one and 39.62 from another within two days of the 'bribri' charge, although the other two companies said they would close the account and also refund the money.

For anyone else with charges from bribri marketing, try calling that number--at least it will let them know you've noticed the charges & are watching the account so they won't charge any more. Also, I'd suggest cancelling your card, getting your bank to issue a new one, and filing a police report. If you've filed one, your bank may be more willing to work with you.

I did some searching online & also found that these bribri marketing charges might have to do with the Heartland data breach almost a year ago. My card was replaced after that & I haven't had any problems, but my husband's never was.

I unfortunately had to receive a overdraft notice to find that I had been
charged a total of 7 times. I filed a complaint and can only hope my
bank will work with me. It's not just a nagging reminder anymore
for me. BE CAREFUL ON THE INTERNET. CHECK YOUR
BANK BALANCE CLOSELY AND OFTEN.
