Breeders Direct, LLC Ripped Off

I purchased a Papillon puppy from Breeders Direct in June of 2009 and all I have had is heart ache. Breeders Direct gets their dogs from puppy mills not real breeders. My dog was sweet but he barked all the time and became extremely aggressive forward people or animals. I did everything I could do to help the puppy, I took him to training and talked to other trainers and they all agree that this puppy was not 6 wks old, it had to have been 3-4 weeks hold and was taken away from its mother way too soon so the puppy thought I was his mother and was trying to protect me. He was not any fun because he would bark at anything he heard, 2 weeks ago I had to give the puppy away and now my heart is broken. I found a wonderful Papillon Rescue who came to my house to pick him up, I talk to them daily and I am glad to say that he is doing wonderful. My friends and the people from the rescue say I did the right thing but I miss him so much and my heart is broken. The people from the rescue said that they get calls all the time from people having the same problems that I was having with my Papillon. Anyone thinking of purchasing a puppy, please look into the breed before you buy them, I learned that the hard way. Breeders Directs told me that this breed would be wonderful for me because I lived in a condo and I was disabled, they ripped me off for over $1000 and now I have nothing to show for it. The people from the Papillon Rescue said that they would like to get a hold of these people and wring their necks for charging me so much money and for selling a 4 wk old puppy. Amanda and Sandy from Breeders Direct told me many weeks ago that they would send me the dogs papers, not that I could do anything with them but I just would like to see what is written on them and the person who has my puppy from the rescue said they would love to see what is written on them. All I can say is BEWARE OF BREEDERS DIRECT WHICH IS NOW CALLED PREMIUM BREEDERS, THEY ARE CROOKS!

Breeders Direct, LLC Guramtee not being honored and no communication

I purchased a tee cup Yorki born Jan 09 for $1697.00 and recieved the puppy on 3-19-09. The puppy came with a life time gurantee . In June 09 it was having problems standing, walking and keeping her balance. The vet treated her with medication sasying she had neurogical problem which was heredatary. The puppy came out of it some what in nov 09 and relapsed on Feb 28, 2010. She was taken to the vet on an emergancy at which time the vet stated the heredatary problem was in #11 spinal Disck closing on the spinal column shutting down the central nurve system and the brain stem would shut down the and paralize the breething system. She died the next day. I informed Breeders Direct and Mar 2 2010 and sent the papers from the vet as requested. This is Mar 09 2010 and I cannot get any response from them.

9/5/13 I purchased a Miniature Schnauzer in 2009, he had to b put to sleep due to a brain tumor and he was 4 years old.
I understand they are out of business, so there goes that "Lifetime Guarantee". My advise NEVER buy a dog or cat on-line, you should meet the breeder and evaluate the temperament of the parents. BEWARE of Puppy Mills and they can also be AKC registered.

I purchased a cocker spaniel in Jan. 09 and on June 16, 2012 she passed away from a genetic immune problem. I spent $5, 000. trying to save her and would have spent $5, 000 more if it would have helped. I have tried to get in touch with Breeder's Direct but I believe they have either sold the business or changed names. Any ideas on how I can get in contact with them?

I have been a quality breeder for many years and these crooks called me off dog breed info and asked me to sell them my puppies I would not do that beings I wanted to talk to my customers! I was then asked if I would work for them as a "puppy counselor" when they were petbynet and I agreed I then had a $1800 phone bill they never paid me! They are horrible have changed there names many many times! BUYER BEWARE you should go get your puppy you may pay more however YOU SHOULD SEE THERE HOME and where the puppy is raised if they have out buildings GO IN THEM! I know where you're coming from! I bought a yorkie there and paid over 3000.00 for it. Was charged for cage cause originally was supposed to have air freighted but cause of heat, they used ground. I never got the cage. Complaint #1. Then you have to have them checked within three days upon arrival and he was infested with ear mites. I again called and they said have the vet. write a letter to them and with that fax a copy of the Vet. bill. I did. I still never received my compensation pay for the cage or the ear mites problem. I again called and they said they must not have received the fax.Complaint #2 Then after all this, his one testicle never descended and I called because the Vet. said this is an heredity condition .That is problem #3.Now when I call they take my name, puppy # and tell me they'll get back with me. I've been doing this for almost two years and they haven't returned my calls! Sure they returned them before they found out I had a problem. I've even tried to talk with the owners! As soon as they know you have a legitimate complaint, you will not be offered any help in any way. THEY WON'T EVEN RETURN YOUR CALL!
They have breeders selling to them from all over. I live in Southern Memphis, and my dog came from Oregon.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to ever overpay for a dog from people who only care about you if you have no problems!

Breeders Direct, LLC Stolen Money

Breeders Direct charged my mother $2500 two times and still has not refunded it. They are thieves. We call daily and they say that someone will call back and no one does. We will be contacting an attorney soon. They are HORRIBLE!

We got a golden a few years ago from breeders direct. We now have our own litter of goldens and want our dogs papers for AKC. we've been searching and searching for the website again to ask for his papers but we cannot find them. Are they all closed down? does anyone have a phone number?... from all these complaints i won't be surprised if i can't get what i want from them. if anyone knows a way to get a hold of them can you please email me: same703@hotmail.com

I, too, was impressed with the website, sales persons and assistance I received during the purchase process, shot status, food used by breeder from Premium Breeders. However, since I received the puppy, I have had over 400 dollars in vet bills for UTI's/crystals in the urine. Vet wants to conduct detailed bladder examination.

PREMIMUM BREEDERS DOES NOT HAVE ANY FOLLOW-THROUGH! AMY SAYS SHE WILL CALL BACK AND FAILS MISERABLY.

My vet calls or their tech after I take my puppy in for a visit when she is sick.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They lack follow-through, PERIOD!

Not all breeders are puppymills. Most actually love and care for their dogs and puppies very well. You never hear about the good breeders, just the puppymills.

I am a breeder, have dealt with Breeders Direct, now Premium Breeders, and they do rip people off. Not just the jacked up prices, but anytime there is an accidental overcharge, they always apologize, and promise a refund, but rarely actually issue it. They have ripped me off twice now.

NEVER NEVER buy a dog without going to the kennel yourself, getting referrals from other owners who have bought from them and making sure it isn't a puppy mill! This is how puppy mills stay in business!

I am the mom, and warn everyone about this companyl They do a great job of selling dogs with a very professional website and excellent sales people. In regards to customer service, it is hard to complain because there isn't any. It took three months for them to return my money after charging me twice and having to listen to numerous lies about when I would receive the "refund."

I have learned a hard lesson. Always deal with a legitimate professional breeder and go to the kennel to check it out.

Breeders Direct, LLC refund

I don't know how this company can still be in business!
We 'reserved' a puppy 5/27/09 and were told our $650 deposit would not be processed on our credit card until we confirmed our order in the next 2 days.
Wrong! It was processed! We called 5/28/09 to cancel our order, as we located a local breeder to work through instead (at 1/4 the price).
Well, in spite of 12 calls to Breeder's Direct, Elisha, the supervisor seems to be on the phone or away from her desk ALL the time. She also does not return phone calls. WE've been waiting for our refund since 5/28/09 and now it's 7/6/09 ! I'm reporting to the BBB today.

We purchased a black lab from Premium Breeders in June 2009 and received her in August 2009. We have had her for 18 + months and have had no problems. She is a beautiful, happy, loving dog and is a joy to have.

To the customer above who couldnt be any happier. While I'm sincerely happy for you that you didnt get 2 dogs or even 1 dog with serious health problems that have nothing to do with well care appointments with their vet, I wonder what your attitude would have been had it not worked out for you as far as getting two unhealthy dogs as soon as you received them and thousands of dollars worth of vet bills because of Direct Breeders unhealthy puppy mill dogs and Direct Breeders selfish attitude towards making it right.

I bought 2 dogs from Premium Breeders and I could not be any happier. They understood exactly what I wanted and there was no way I could have found these pups on my own. Thank you Premium Breeders for completing my family, these pups have been the most wonderful addition to our fam.

I bought a puppy from breeders direct and now found out she has hip dysplasia at 8 months, no replies from them after sending vet's xrays and comments from him. Gonna cost me a lot to do the surgery but she is so sweet i can't put her down... The problem I have is I got her to register and breed to have a puppy from her to keep (I am tired of buying dogs) but that cannot happen now...

I purchased a boxer pup on 8/06/2009. I was given a " test" for worthynes for this pup. They fed me a line of "bull" about how they go about breeders, etc". What a crock. Well, as the weeks went on, I didn't get my pup for 3 weeks. I tried to cancel my order and they refused. I couldn't get a hold of any one. I finally sent some pretty nasty emails and finally got an answer that was simply a generated reply that had nothing to do with my complaint.
I had to pay full price plus airfair. So, now that I have this pup, (3 weeks later) which was covered with flees and so small when she arrived, had zero registration certificute.( vet said will not make breed standards for weight and size) I have been trying now for weeks to get her paper registration form. Excuse after excuse. Oh, it is lost in the mail, you will have to PAY and wait for 6-9 months for a replacement. What replacement. I never recieved one in the first place! I paid TOO much for an unregestered dog!
This company LIED to me and now I am going to come after them. Life time guarentee, Yea, right!
Anyone out there thinking of buying from them, DON'T DO IT! This company is a RIP OFF!
If youhave to wait, remember, this dog will be a member of your family. Don't take it lightly.
find a breeder where you can go and see the parents then make a decission.

Breeders Direct, LLC Unauthorized mobile charges

I bought a poodle that was not available as I was told some weeks later. After realizing my mistake, I called the following day to cancel the transaction and even though I have a conformation number for the cancellation, I am still waiting since October 2nd for a credit on my credit card. I called many times but got only false promises about a credit. BREEDER'S DIRECT still got my money.

I purchase a mini poodle with pedigree papers from Breeders Direct and paid them $1, 800. The puppy was flown from a mill in Missouri and arrived in West Palm.

The do is not a mini poodle. It now weighs 19 pounds and is part poodle and bischon frise. I had 2 vets document that fact.

When I fist I contacted Breeders Direct they asked me how I liked the mini poodle and does it weigh 5-8 pounds. I told them what the weight was (20 pounds) and the dog was not a mini poodle. They could care less.

I do not recommend them. They are a fraud and deal with puppy mills.

Hi to everyone, DONT BUY ANY DOG FROM DIRECT BREEDERS!
I bought from them yorkee with shunt liver, displasia, hernia and etc...the dog was so so sick and i spent over $6000. oo, they never refunded me any one cent, This company must be shut down, close and all people who got sick yorkee should suite this company! we cant let them still make money and selling so sick puppy!

JUST READ YOUR POST...WE ALSO WERE RIPPED OFF ! PURCHASED A CHIHUAHUA PUPPY IN APRIL 2010...CAME TO US WITH RINGWORM (WHICH AFFECTED MY OTHER PETS), & SEIZURES, AND WAS SOLD AS A "TEA CUP"...LOL SHE IS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD AND IS ALREADY OVER 4LBS...MY VET SAYS SHE WILL PROBABLY BE CLOSER TO 6 - 8 LBS AT MATURITY.
WHEN I SPOKE TO THE BREEDER DIRECTLY, SHE TOLD ME THE REASON SHE HAD NO HAIR ON HER TAIL WAS BECAUSE THE SIBLING PUP PLAYED ROUGH WITH HER AND WOULD PULL HER AROUND BY THE TAIL...SO NATURALLY I BELIEVED THE BREEDER, UNTIL GOING TO MY VET. SHE DID A SKIN SCRAPE AND HAIR SAMPLE WHICH IN FACT CAME BACK AS RINGWORM...
WAS ADVISED BY MY VET TO FEED THE PUPPY VERY SMALL PORTION OF FOOD EVERY 2 - 3 HOURS TO STOP THE SEIZURES. SO FAR THIS HAS SEEMED TO WORK, HOWEVER, FROM PRIOR SEIZURES SHE HAS MUSCLE DAMAGE. I WONDER HOW MANY TIMES SHE HAD THEM PRIOR TO US RECEIVING THIS PUP?
..SHE ALSO HAS ONGOING SKIN ALLERGIES AND WILL BE ON MEDS THE REST OF HER LIFE. WE PAID CLOSE TO 1, 600.00 FOR THIS PUPPY...ALL I EVER GOT FROM AMY (REP FOR COMPANY) WAS A LETTER STATING THEY WILL REIMBURSE FOR $104.00 FOR RINGWORM MEDS WHEN THIS PUPPY RECEIVES A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH. CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH WILL NEVER HAPPEN.! THIS PUPPY CAME OUT OF IOWA...I AM TOTALLY TICKED OFF NOT ONLY WITH PREMIUM BREEDERS, BUT ALSO WITH THE BREEDER HERSELF. THE GUARANTEE THEY SUPPLY IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT IS WRITTEN ON...THIS IS A TOTAL RIP OFF !

I am a responsiable breeder, I was contacted by buypuppiesdirect.com this lady said we are NOT a broker co. so I fell for it. I am a very very small breeder our pets are inside our babies are home rasied. We are against "puppy mills and commercial breeders" We want the best for our pets. I placed our puppies what was left on there site they said they get a small amount fee to the buyers so I figured 100-200. NOPE try on 1500 Great Dane 895 extra. RIP off! I was pissed then I had a buyer tie up 1 of my pups for 4 days and decide the didnt want the dog. Anyone who buys a pup from me a 200 non refundable deposit they never gave me my deposit lucky he was sold that day from me. Then 4 days befor 1 our my pups is due to fly out the buyer gets pissed and says she dont want the dog now cuse they lied to her she wanted flight info a week before departure #1 i dont get my money til 3days before they fly out and then I dont get that info for flight for 48hr before departure I even kept the dog 1wks long than when she was to fly out and now they have her money close to 2800+ and tryin not to give me any money. and they want to keep her money I told them I want the remainding bal. for the puppy. if someone buys a pup from us the deposit is when the dog is nursing once weaned they pay in full if you for some reason dont want the dog and its weaned you paid for the dog in full you loos your money. BUYERS beware I am re-moving our puppies from the site. Do you own home wrk google, or look for a puppy and talk to a repertable breeder your self. I am learning from my stupidity... I talked with this company today (Premium Breeders) and experienced what some of you have already mentioned. I talked to a man, who was extremely pushy and repeatedly talked "over" me (ie interrupting while I was TRYING to talk) to the point I had to ask him to PLEASE let me speak. When I mentioned the recent loss of my dog, he IMMEDIATELY redirected the conversation and said, "let's try and focus on the dog you want now..." and without taking a breath, just continued yacking. I found the whole conversation and experience rather ODD. I did not agree to do anything, except to consider calling back (I had already been "accepted" as a candidate to purchase a dog through them). When I did call back, I asked for some information on the ACTUAL breeder connected to the puppy I was interested in. (I asked, "It's not a secret, is it?"). The point is, is that evasive action was taken on his part, and while he said it wasn't a secret, nothing was revealed to me (except for the previous information that the dog would be "shipped" from South Dakota). He also validated their existence by saying that breeders wouldn't be able to field all these calls (said they processed 400 applications a day). In addition, when I mentioned I would be a little uncomfortable with the poor little thing flying alone from South Dakota to Florida, he basically cast it off as being no big deal (? I would rather fly with the dog myself, but, that's just me ...). Anyway, after reading this blog, I am definitely passing on this one. Definitely too many RED FLAGS! Hope i can find another dog, though, somewhere out there!

I purchased a puppy from breeders direct back in January of 2009. I forked over $2200 for her and in return I expected the benefit of the lifetime guarantee/customer service e.t.c.

When the puppy arrived she had an upper respiratory infection and what looked like an eye infection. After several vet visits, and countless amount of antibiotics her eye infection would not clear up. The vet referred me to an eye specialist. My dog was diagnosed with a hereditary eye problem... dry eye. It doesn't sound serious but my dog will be on costly eye drops for the rest of her life. I had ordered a standard yorkie and at only 3lbs she is anything but. I am also sure (as a writer before) that she must have been the runt of the litter but of course cannot find out for certain.

In April 09, once I had collected all paperwork pertaining to the upper respiratory tract infection and eye issues, I submitted all information to breeders direct as requested. It is now April 10 and I have never, not once, at all receive a phone call back. Apparently the receptionists are the only available people on earth from breeders direct to talk to. When ever I call I am told they will email the Manager (who by the way does not work in the office). I have placed more than 200 phone calls to the company and nothing!

I am already nearing $5000.00 in total medical bills.

DO NOT BUY A PUPPY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A COMPLETE RIP OFF. THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FORGET ABOUT THE LIFETIME WARRANTY. THE PUPPIES LOOK CUTE AND CUDDLY ON THE WEBSITE BUT YOU DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW IF YOU'RE EVEN RECEIVING THE SAME DOG.

I purchased a dog from breeders direct cost me about 4k. The dog had eye problems and had to undergo eye surgery, the surgery was covered under the breeders direct lifetime health guarantee, and they agreed to pay for it. I went through all of their hoops but still have not received the $1, 000 they owe me. It's been about six months! DO NOT BUY A DOG FROM BREEDERS DIRECT! If I try calling them and asking for who I need to speak to, they are never in, or are on the phone. I'm Beginning to wonder if these people even exist. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT DOWN!

MY WIFE AND I CALLED BREEDERS DIRECT ON APRIL 22 2009, gave them a deposit of 650.00 and called again on april 23 and gave them another 1935.58 and on april 25 we tried to cancel the order. they said we would get a full refund. it is now january 21st 2010 and we still do not have a refund . hsbc will not do anything for us, they insist on a cancellation no. which breeder direct never gave us. all we got was a order no.now hsbc says our time period for getting our money back is over. we gave breeders direct 2045.58 and and cant get our money back. we now have to pay hsbc 2045.58 so that makes our total 4, 091.16. how do we fight this? the phone number we called was [protected].is their more than one breders direct?my email is leelgriff@gmail.com.how can a credit card company take money from you and not help when you have been robbed. isnt this illegal?

I wrote 3 days ago that I finally got a hold of the Manager, named Elicia at Breeders Direct and that she would look into getting the money that I am suppose to be refunded. She called me and said that they were getting ready to cut the check and they were suppose to let her know when the check was to be mailed. Well, Elicia, has quit her job, which I knew was coming and now I have no idea when or if I will receive the check. Elicia was wonderful and will really miss her, she was the only person at Breeders Direct that knew what they were doing and I will miss her very much. From what I heard they treated her terribly and she could not take the stress anymore. Luckily, she and I became friends and I know how to get in touch with her but as a friend, she can no longer help with problems with Breeders Direct. I have no idea when my check will arrive and if I do not receive it by the end of September, I will have my lawyer send them a letter or call them. My puppy is a Papillon and really does not look like one, if it was not for his large ears like Papillons have, I would think he was a mixed breed. He is very tiny for a Papillon and my vet thinks he might be the runt of the litter, I wish I could get in touch with the breeder but of course I cannot because Breeders Direct will not give out their names. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BREEDERS DIRECT TO ANYONE AND EVERY BAD THING THAT ANYONE HAS WRITTEN IS ALL TRUE AND I WISH I NEVER BOUGHT MY PUPPY FROM THEM, ALL I HAVE HAD IS STRESS SINCE THE PUPPY ARRIVED! I have grown to love the little guy but he sure does not look like he was suppose to be.
