Branch Banking and Trust / foreclosing, being unreasonable, demanding more $ than we owe them
We are delinquent (4 payments) on our mortgage. We still owe the bank $ 34, 000, yet they are demanding $ 49, 000. We have asked for an extension so that we can put together a reverse mortgage that will help pay them $ 34, 000, as well as get us a little bit more money to pay medical bills, etc.
They have said that they are not willing to delay the first hearing. This loan was predatory from the beginning, as my Mother didn't even have shoes on (couldn't afford them) the day she went in for the loan, and did NOT present sufficient proof of ability to re-pay the loan. She has MS and was unrealistically depending on being able to go fifteen years, taking care of her bed-ridden sister, while she repaid the loan. This loan should NEVER been granted!
