British Petroleum diesel

As a dedicated tesco diesel customer and being in the wilds of scotland yesterday I had to fill up at a bp outlet. Inadvertently I filled up with bp's 'ultimate' grade at 10p over the regular price! That was bad enough, but on filling up at the end of my return journey I was horrified to find that I had achieved 4.5 miles per gallon less than on my outward journey! Just wondered if anybody had any similar experiences or is this the stuff 'ultimate' rip-off! Sorry!

British Petroleum unruly manager

Manager: charles dawson
My experience this afternoon at the bp gas station located at 3639 peachtree rd has caused me to never for the rest of my life patron at any bp establishment. I had a horrible experience at this location. I came here as a patron and spent over $50. After getting a full tank of gas and other items I got into my truck to carry on with my day and my truck would not start. As I sat in my vehicle trying to figure out what the issue was the service men working just stood by and watched. I got out of my vehicle and asked the service men for help and they said they could not help me. I even tried to tell them that it would not start and I think it may have something to do with my alarm. The service man waved me to move out of the way so that a car could pull in to be serviced. I moved out of the way and the service man went on to say that he could not help me. I went back to my vehicle to call for help. As I was waiting for help to arrive the gas station manager came over yelling at me stating that I had ten minutes or he would call a tow truck or the police on me. I was crying and clearly in need of assistance. I informed the manager that a tow truck was on the way for me. He then repeated yelling again that I had ten minutes and I was making him lose money. He was extremely rude and did not show any empathy towards me. I am a young african american lady and they refused to assist me in any way. The tow truck company the manager called came before my tow truck came. I was speaking with the tow truck driver to allow him to go ahead and tow my vehicle when the manager came back over once again screaming at me that I was making him lose business and he was going to call the police on me. I was very cooperative with the manager and the tow truck driver and I felt attacked by the gas station manager. He yelled at me the entire time instead of speaking to me as a patron who had just spent money at his establishment. Needless to say I will never ever patron at this establishment again and I will advise other to not patron there either. I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service this location does not provide. This was a horrific experience and as a female I felt helpless and bullied. The tow truck driver apologized for the rude managers behavior and said that his company does business with them and he will report my experience to his boss. The tow truck driver even tried to help me start my truck before putting it up on the tow truck. I told him that it would be ok for him to just tow it to my residence. I appreciated the courtesy of the truck driver, but it will not help to change the way I feel about this establishment. I am extremely bothered by this experience.

This manager should be fired! He was not justified in yelling at you. I am sure the people around you observed his rudness and will comment on it to other people. He is bad for business and needs to be in another line of work.
I am sorry you had to go through this but next time laugh at them, they get really confused!

British Petroleum pre pay gasoline

Today I went to a BP gas station near my work on my lunch break. I pre-paid inside for $20 worth of fuel and I also purchased an item inside the store. That's the whole reason I paid inside, so I wouldn't have to use my credit card twice (once at the pump and once inside). When I left I got in my car and drove off, forgetting all about the gas because I was in a rush to get back to work. When I pulled up into my work parking lot, I had realized that I forgot the gas, so I drove back to the gas station. I was gone from the gas station for 5 MINUTES. When I arrived, I pulled back up to the same pump I had pre-paid at, went inside and told the cashiers what had happened. They told me that a guy had gone to the same pump and that my pre-paid gas went into his damn car! I could understand if the guy just pulled up, noticed that it was pre-paid, pumped the fuel and left... BUT he went inside and told the cashiers what happened. Which is still unclear to me because every pump is pre-pay. He was trying to be honest about it, and they told him to go ahead and leave and not to worry about it. THEY DIDN'T CHARGE HIM ANYTHING! Technically, to me, this is STEALING! They should have made him pay $20 cash and apply it towards my gas when I showed back up. Did they think I wouldn't ever have noticed? Well I hope he enjoyed his free gas. I'm a college student and drive an hour to and from school everyday. I can't afford to loose any money. Whether it be $5 or $20! I could not find a main office number to contact. I'm working on it and believe me... they will be hearing from me. Needless to say I will NEVER spend another dime at ANY BP location!

The cashier was my friends little brother, so he does know who I am. Also, I am not use to pre-paying for my gas inside, I always pay at the pump. Which is probably a big part of why I didn't even realize that I had forgotten it. I've seen that place pretty busy before, but it was really slow around the time I was there. If I had just gone in to pay for only gas I would feel like one of your "stupid customers", but I went in to get a pack of smokes, which was my main reason for even going to the gas station and figured that I would just fill up my tank while I was at it. Anyway, I felt that the cashier could have done more than he did, he just blew it off. I was directing this complaint more towards the individual, not every bp employee.

First off, I never said that it wasn't my fault that I forgot to get my gas. And yeah, I am the "[censored] that was in such a hurry I forgot my gas". Ever hear of a timed lunch break? I had a lot of ### on my mind, so? It happens. The thing that I'm ### about is that when I went back the cashier told me that he gave my gas away! I wouldn't have gotten so fired up if he had lied to me and told me that someone just came up and took it and left, but he stood there and explained to me in detail what had happened and it royally pissed me off. Maybe he should have lied to me, then I could be angry at the "### who stole my gas"? I know it was my fault for driving off, but it's the whole concept that the customer was trying to be honest and offered to pay and was told he was "free to go and not to worry about it" THAT is the big issue here. I used to go to that gas station all the time, and the cashier I dealt with knows who I am and knows that I came in frequently.

No, I do not work at a gas station/convenience store. But I have worked my fair share in the retail world and I know that customer satisfaction is one of the main priorities. I don't appreciate your smartass remarks and I don't feel the need to explain my job to you either. I'm not bashing you, and I'm not saying that your job isn't easy. I just had a bad experience and I wanted it to be known.

This all would have been fine and dandy if it were true. However, the man came into the gas station and told the cashiers that he had just put someone else's gas in his car and OFFERED to pay. If the cashiers wouldn't have been so busy playing footsie and pulled their heads out of each other's ### they would have made the guy pay, set the money aside, and waited for me to return so they could designate a pump for me to get my gas. They were not busy when I made my first trip there nor when I returned 5 minutes later. Regardless, I got ahold of the owner and got my gas. It's a done deal.

"it is not a cashiers responsibility to make sure you get what you came in for. we are busy too."
Last time I checked, It IS your responsibilty. IT'S YOUR JOB!

Me asking what you did for a living was a rhetorical question. And gosh I wonder what a timed lunch break is. At my job we don't get breaks. We get to eat and do everything else while we wait on our customers and no that is not your problem but at least be thankful for what you have. Yes, customer satisfaction is one of the main priorities in retail but it would help a lot if some of the customers weren't so stupid sometimes. And I do want to point out that I work at a busy store and I don't know if the one you went to was busy or not but a lot of my customers are regulars and I know them. Then you have those people that think the cashiers know them but they really don't. If you aren't "memorable" (good or bad) then they probably won't know who you are even if you came in the store everyday. It's impossible to remember every single customer that walks through the doors of a store in a day. Sorry but it is not going to happen.

I didn't really appreciate you telling me that it is my responsibility and my job to make sure that the customer didn't leave anything. I am currently a cashier and not a babysitter. If you are old enough to go into a store and buy something yourself, then you should be able to remember what the hell you went in there for and remember to take the ### with you when you leave. If you don't then too bad.

It's your fault that you left without pumping your gas. Your fault and no one else's. I'm happy for you that the owner reimbursed your gas and you should be extremely thankful to him because that is a rarity. If you weren't in such a hurry you wouldn't of threw away $20 like you did. I mean how do you literally walk into a store and hand someone money and then tell them what you want and then go outside and drive off. That is your problem that you were such in a rush. No gas station is going to hire a "gas pump babysitter" to basically watch and see if everyone gets their gas. At my store we are way to busy for that. If we catch someone driving off without there gas then we will pull their money for them until they realize and come back, but more often than not we don't catch it and that's not because we aren't good at are jobs. It is because we get too busy to watch every little thing. If someone does happen to drive off without their gas and someone else pumps it and they don't tell us then we will give the "[censored] who was in a hurry" our bosses phone number to call to make them happy but all the owners will say is there is nothing they can do about it. Your fault.

Do you work at a gas station/convenience store? I don't think you do, so I guess you really don't know what the responsibilities are, right? Hmm, interesting revelation there. I would love to know what you do for a living so that I can personally tell you how to do your job since you know how to do everyone else's. Apparently it's a lot of fun and I would love to give it a go.

i work at a bp gas station and i can honestly say that this happens more often than you think. what could of happened was that you prepaid for your gas and the man pulled up after you and tried to use his credit card outside and when he thought it was approved then he started pumping. so needless to say the man probably thought that he was pumping gas with his own credit card. the employees i can't say anything about. maybe they were new and didn't know what to do but it is not a cashiers responsibility to make sure you get what you came in for. we are busy too.

just because you are in a hurry doesn't make it our problem. sorry

British Petroleum - defective shingles

I purchased a pallet load of BP shingles from Totem Bldg Supplies in April stored them flat in my garage until about a month ago. When we started using them, we found in sealed packages we were getting ripped shingles from the tab toward the other tab. We are about 1/3 done the roof and I have at least a full square of defective shingles. I e-mailed BP...

British Petroleum turned down for credit card

Recently turned down for BP Chase Visa. My credit rating is something over 800. Their reason was the expense of maintaining the account would exceed the revenue in return.

I was also turned down, so I picked up more than 300 credit applications from the BP pumps. I plan to mail one of the self addressed self stamped applications every day with a printed slip inside to reconsider giving me a card.

I figure the cost to Chase for mail, a Chase employees time, and one less customer sending in a application will cost Chase big $$$ in the long run.

Lets see if they Reconsider?

Anyone going to join my effort?

If a few hundred of us grab the applications from the pumps and send them a note inside without filling in the application maybe they will change the policy!

Also got turned down by the good folks at Chase for the same reason. High FICA be damned! I called CHASE for an explanation of what "anticipated account related expenses likely to exceed revenue" meant and how that decision came to be made in my speicific case. While the nice lady on the other end of the phone would (could) not elaborate, we had a delightful dance around the real issue being the fact that I never carry balances and hence, pay no finance charges which disqualified me for getting a BP Chase VISA issued. It reveals how CHASE is handling recent and anticipated legislation effecting credit cards.

Yes, you are right. They are only interested in offering credit if you have a history of carrying a balance and paying interest. It costs them money to maintain accounts that never generate any profit. Well, that is the reasoning.

However the real reason is much more insipid. You can still get a credit card, but only the ones you can get are those that have an 'annual fee'.

I also was turned down by Chase for the same card and reason.

I called up the the CS rep and she told me the same reason and said it was final. I would not get the BP card either for that reason.

I believe one reason is because i pay off all my purchases in full and dont carry a balance, they will not make a dime from me.

British Petroleum fuel shortage

Last night I went to the BP station to purchase gas. I had a quarter of a tank of gas; my car has a gas capacity of just under 14 gallons. I purchased $10.00 worth of gas and got a quarter tank of gas. Gas currently is $1.91. At that rate it would cost $40.00 to fill up my tank. That was the price I was paying when gas was $3.50 something cents.

This gas station is ripping people off.

British Petroleum terrible employees

Check this out. Go to the gas station for a pack of Marlo's Boxed and $5 dollars of gas to top off before, I took off for work this morning at 6:45 and ran up on a line outside the window of the gas station. There's an impatient woman in front of the line waiting on her change. As she's waiting on her change she's muttering under her breath and needless to say she's ready to go. The woman behind the counter, Haitian-American I assume, based on her accent is taking a bit long to hand the woman her $4.00 change. As I am approaching the front of the line, a young man to my right is soliciting the woman for $.25 to which she quickly stuffs her change in the purse and walks away saying that she hasn't it to spare. As she hustles away, I ask the woman behind the counter for what I came there for. She couldn't understand what I was asking for (of course I said Malboro Box Lights-not Marlo's like me and my friends call them) and even as she charged my card it came back declined. I told her that the machine is mistaken because I know what is in my account. For me to try again, she opened the front door that had been locked, possibly due to the loiterer outside, and recharged me-declined.

By then, Im pushing it to make it to the 826 by my deadline and told the woman to cancel everything, I'm running home to check my online banking and then call the bank to discover the mystery behind these declines. I push my empty chevy back home, checked banking-money is there...called bank-mystery solved. The silly fool was charging my account $100.00 dollars, instead of 10.00 and that debit card was just charged my light bill so the limit was $80.00. So I drive back to the store-- and politely told her, "Ma'am, you were charging me $100.00 dollars, not $10.00."
"Did you see a receipt? I no charge you $100.00 dollars."
"No Ma'am I didn't say you charge me, I said you tried to charge me $100.00"
"F--k you, ###"
I was in shock. The woman cursed me out after attempting to correct her mistakes and my only goal had been to come back and make my purchases because I was already late for work as it was. I F-in lost it and I let that heifer have it.
Needless to say, I want to call BP, are their workers so underpaid that even threats of loosing their jobs in this economy doesn't phase them at all. That, you know what, all but laughed at me behind that glass. But not before she ate some final parting words from this bad mamma jamma.

BP NEEDS TO GET ON POINT AND HIRE PEOPLE WITH MANNERS AND RESPECT, THERE ARE ALOT OF GAS STATIONS IN AMERICA, ESPECIALLY W. DIXIE HWY. NO ONE NEEDS TO PUT UP WITH THIS. THE GAS IS NOT EVEN THAT CHEAP. IF IT IS A FRANCHISE, IT NEEDS TO MONITOR THEM A LITTLE MORE CLOSELY TO SEE WHO OWNS THEM AND WHO WORKS IN THEM.

By the way, the top off is what I came there for, by the time I left the tank was empty there was no available pumps at the time, so my friend was in the car, waiting for me to come out. So the car was about empty because the car is older and late model chevys burn a lot of gas, it was a snatch and grab stop, it was supposed to take 2 minutes, tops. Like I said thanks for your compassionate advise as if it was so cool for her to talk to people like that and dont complain when it happens to you.

Kp23, Do not be mistaken. That BP is one of the cheapest and furthermore, right up the street. There are others but I was heading west and that is usually the fastest way. What I choose to buy in a store is not the concern, especially a legal product that is now contributing to children's health care, so I de-stress and everyone wins. The concern is that she actually cursed me out and while I will speak with my feet, I choose to also use my access to the net and my right to speak to the customer service center of BP---as soon as I locate the number. What you see as easy I see as myself in the same position. I have always had jobs serving people and have done so with utmost respect. And yes, payday is on Friday and when I am spending some of my last until then, I don't think i should be cursed out. I was so polite to her, I come there almost evryday and that why she let me in. So her attitude was unwarranted and I choose to use all my options. But thanks for the advice any way.

BP must employ rude employees all over the country! Near my workplace in Lincolnshire is a convenient BP station (there are also 2 other gas stations just slightly less convenient). It seems that 8x's out of 10 - there is something wrong with their pumps or their debit machines or their attitude.

Today was just another example: employee was outside smoking when i arrived. I pulled to a pump and went to swipe my card and finally noticed the screen already had an error displayed on its screen to the affect "pump failure".

OK, so i back up and go to another pump as the smoking and ONLY employee watches me. I go to swipe my card and NOTHING comes on the screen.

Now the employee is done with her smoke and saunters by - so when i ask her "Are all the pumps broken?" i get "Some are some arent - you can keep trying or come in and pay". Since she was done with her break - i guess i could have gone in and payed or kept trying every pump till i found one that wasnt broken per her suggestion.

Since i am a bit tired of this issue at this station i remarked as i got back into my car "or I can go to one of these other stations"... to which she started some kind of long rampling, harrassing reply "its not my fault, its not OUR fault (meaning bp i guess) that the pumps are broken" as she moved closer to my car - i rolled up the window and locked the door, so i missed the rest of her lecture on "Customer etiquette" .

I guess i just suck as a BP customer and i should look for another company to be a customer of since I apparently do not live up to THEIR expectations of me.

BTW - this BP station is on the corner of 22 and milwaukee avenue in Lincolnshire, IL.

Let's see, your going to top off an empty tank with $5.00 of gas. Either you have a toy car or the gas is alot less then you expressed. If you quit smoking you may actually be able to afford more than $5.00 of gas, then you wouldn't have to go to the gas station as often. If she did make a mistake why would you even go back there, my guess is just to be confrontational. Learn to speak with your feet and just don't go back. Now isn't that easy?

British Petroleum cash handling

I went to a BP station to grab a drink today at around 1:30pm. the BP store is located on a island intercepted by Broadway and Union Ave in Brooklyn, NY 11206. its got a little self-serving store in it.

after I show the cashier the bottle I was gonna take, I handed over a $20 cash note. then just like I always would when I m waiting for my changes after payment, I didnot pay any attention to what the cashier was doing before she hand back the changes.

the changes was not right. I said that s not right, I gave you 20. then her reaction was like I was tricking her at the first place n tediously show me a random $10 from her counter top, like I didnot know how much I have in my wallet n gave her. immediately, I was being look at by her like an idiot or some crazy customer who walk in the store pretend given 20 but gave out 10, n ask for a refund on purpose.

I guess if I was willing to forfeit some time of mine, the truth would eventually submerge. but I didnot wanna keep on arguing over only $10 due to its not only time consuming, but plus I dont know what I could do to prove that I was right. I mean the security camera is not that HD enough to see how much I really gave her, right? just by saying I absolutely gave you $20, and I m sure that was $20 I gave you or the like would not get me any favour over the arguement.

beside, let's donot forget there may be a chance that she was doing this trick on purpose. I mean it would be a nice bonus out of the everyday wages for tricking multiple customers like this, right!

I m angry at BP right now because if I was gonna keep on arguing n got my justice back, I must have to act like a unreasonable customer n yelling for their superior involvement. for a peaceful person like me, I just wanted the prove that either prove me wrong or otherwise. I mean BP can train their employees to have proper handlings of this kind of situation, instead of letting them showing their dump, long face to your cash paying customers, like puting the camera under the window that can clearly monitor every cash trasactions. so when the need arise, camera foottages are easily accessible. n most importantly, the staff on site are willingly n readily to show the footages despite of accusations.

so long my $10

I am sending this email to express my utter displeasure in the way my account was handled recently by your customer service department. I attempted to make a payment by phone using the automated system. I followed the instructions to the letter and spoke my tracking number and checking account number to not only make a payment (I think the bill was $72.26) but to pay over that amount but was told I could not. I eventually received a call from your customer service department that I had been charged a $39.00 returned check fee as well as a $29 late fee. I was totally puzzled and called my bank that reassured me I had plenty in my account to cover my BP bill. After being notified by BP, I attempted to make another payment (I was told by your customer service department I had given them the wrong routing number - NOT TRUE!). Again I attempted to make a payment and this time gave a customer service rep (a live voice) the same routing number and checking account number. On Jun 2, Chase Bank had the audacity to call my daughter about my account. She has nothing to do with my BP account. This time I was told I had given them the wrong account number - again NOT TRUE! I called my bank and talked to a supervisor that informed me no one from BP in the last two weeks had made an attempt to have the money taken out of my account. Again, another $39 returned fee and $29 late fee was applied. I HAVE $8000 IN OVER DRAFT PROTECTION IN MY ACCOUNT! I have had this BP card for 35 years! You can check. My credit score, to date, is close to 800! You can check. I do not want a $72 bill to ruin my credit score. It is a sad day that this was handled and botched so badly. After having a good relationshipship with your company for almost 35 years, I have closed my account and this experience has left a bitter taste with me. My name is Vickie Lawrence. I live at 12205 Holm Oak Drive, Waldorf, MD 20601. My BP account was [protected]. I have sent the balance of $127.00 in priority mail and it should reach your company within the next 2-3 business days. This is not how you treat a good customer!

I m angry at BP right now because if i was gonna keep on arguing n got my justice back, i must have to act like a unreasonable customer n yelling for their superior involvement. for a peaceful person like me, i just wanted the prove that either prove me wrong or otherwise. i mean BP can train their employees to have proper handlings of this kind of situation, instead of letting them showing their dump, long face to your cash paying customers, like puting the camera under the window that can clearly monitor every cash trasactions.so when the need arise, camera foottages are easily accessible. n most importantly, the staff on site are willingly n readily to show the footages despite of accusations.

so long my $10

I will not buy gas from BP ever again. That said I am a resident of Crofton MD and needed to buy gas today. I went to TWO stations which I used to frequent and both had been bought out by BP. Just because you are ubiquitous doesn't mean I will buy from you. I drove a long distance before I found a gas station which was NOT BP. You people are crazy if you think this new strategy will bring you business. I would sooner stay home than buy from you!

I bought gas at Boynton Amoco 3510 Boynton Beach Blvd Boynton Beach, Florida. The sign outside was posted 285.9, on the gas pump it was posted 290.9 on the gas pump. I went inside, the attendant said that 285.9 was for cash only. That was not posted on the gas pump. I already had put the gas in my car. That is False Advertisement. I put in 13.752 gallons. I would like to be reimbersed for the difference. Thank You. Mr Albert Berner 7298 Morocca Lake Drive Delray Beach, Florida 33446 Tel [protected]

British Petroleum bad customer service

I went to the gas station on saturday 4/11/09 around 7:30pm to purchase a $5 calling card and add minutes to a cellphone for $10 which would equal to $15. I handed the cashier(a black lady with braids, I didn't get her name)$20 then I couldn't add the minutes it wasn't going through, so I told her ok then just give me the $5 calling card, she handed me $5 back(the wrong change)! So I said "I gave you a$20 you're supposed to give me $15 back, she started arguing with me and said no you gave me$10, then I replied I'm not a liar, you better count the register, she then asked another co-worker(An older hispanic man)I don't know if he was the manager or not to give her $10 to give me, if her register's short she will pay him back! I felt disrecpected by that girl by insinuating that I lied, after giving me my exact change she kept on cussing and getting loud so I told her she needs to check her attitude she doesn't know how to deal with customers, the other guy just stood there while he let her act a fool...she then followed me outside screaming, I told her sorry behind to get back inside cause I don't have time for her...it was the 1st time that happened and the last time cause I won't set foot in that store...

Good morning,
I am contacting you, because I am very disappointed how a situation been handled by the cashier and manger of the BP gestation on 704 N Federal HWY, Hallandale FL 33009. I stopped yesterday around 4PM to buy fuel at pump nr 4, I swipe my card, selected Premium fuel, inserted the nozel in my fuel tank and let it run.I was standing next to my vehicle, and after couple a minutes later I realized that the fuel is pouring on me (my brand new sued boots, jeans, on the car, on the floor…) I suddenly took out the nozle from the tank and it stoped. I was soaked in gasoline, astonished I walked in the store and I told the cashier what happened, his answer without letting me to finish was:" that is not his fault"…..and start talking to the next customer totally ignoring me. I requested to talk to the manager, he was sitting a couple of feet away, and overheard the conversation. His fist world was “not my fault”, I asked if he new that pump #4 is faulty? he said, you not supposed to inset the nozle all the way (if is so? put a sign on it!).. and he just ignored me, looked away. My question is, a management of a gastation not supposed to close an unsafe pump? I was soaked in gasoline, on the floor was fuel around, that is hazardous! And next to the safety issue, I am a paying costumer, aren’t I sopposed to get help? I had to cancel my meeting and go home to change, try to clean my new sued $150 boots, it is ruined, together with my jeans, and I had to take my car to was the floor mats. I am very disappointed by the behavior of the management and how they handled the situation.

hello
i was at Bp gas station Saturday 2/5/11 7:40am morning to get gas. Eventually, the owner whom you gave bulilding and gas station to, did not clean parking lot. The parking lot was completely slippery. When i pulled in parking lot, my car slid straight into big pile of snow, also when i finally got to pump, got out of my car to pump the gas, i slipped ride on parking lot. No one took care pump area or parking lot. This gas station is completely mess. The owner didn't bother cleaning or putting snow on parking or pump area. When i went inside building to prepay for gas, employee gave me nasty altitude instead apologize. He said snow guy took care of parking already and It's my shoes fault, where i was wearing regular skechers. I get my gas at this location all the time for all of my four cars but, i'm never going to shop at this gas station
again because of bad ownership and nasty altitude. This location need major improvement

Scamming---Sign says one price, pump says another. A microscopic sign on the pump says you must use debit card to receive discount. Full price must be displayed on sign. I use BP Credit Card and I get charged 4 cents higher than sign price. Complaints are incredible, but nothing has been done to correct this. Please correct this or put these people out of business.

On 10/5/13 I desperately pulled into BP gas station at 11:30 and lined up behind the car the attendant was pulling the gas nozzle out of the car he was servicing. Once he retired the nozzle back on the station he turned and waved me away with his hand and stated "no more" I asked to please sell me has as told him I had no more gas and my gas light indicator came on and I was out of gas.. He then processed to clap his hands to together as in he is done w the conversation and stated "machine is turned off". At any other time/day I wouldn't have even asked twined, but I was a single woman with a child in her girl, in desperate need Of gas at the mercy of a BP serviceman and I was turned away
To continue my search to the next gas station that was 5 miles away. I frequent that station, well use to, and for any attendant to brush away a woman in distress is just the worse of customer service I have encountered. I would like to formalize this complaint against the only attendant at this station at 11:30 and am asking what is BP offering as a compensation to the rudeness and insensitivity presented by one of their representative?

Hi,
I a, Nianzu chan and I wanted to complaint about one of your B.P. staff, today evening I went to your B.P. gas station at B.P. connect, Flat Bush on the corner of Ormiston road and Te-irrirangi drive (East tamaki, Auckland), I went their to fill up my gas bottle. I went inside and their was a guy standing on till i ask him that please send someone to fill my gas bottle, he was serving customers so he ask a girl named SIMU to fill up the bottle
but that girl was so rude to him and was looking angry, she was doing nothing was just standing near to Barista machine, she refused to fill my bottle and was yelling at that guy that she is not going out,
I was sitting their and was watching everything I could see that guy was alone at the counter, their was another girl in the kitchen but she didn't come out, and that guy was serving all the customer and she (Simu) was doing nothing she yelled at him and was saying she has filled up too many gas bottles now she doesn't want to go
Cause of that girl I had to wait for too long and she was so bad in nature instead of helping that guy she was talking rudely to him and made me waiting and I am sure if you ask that guy he will definitely tell you how rude was she, I was going for party but that girl made me late and my mood was off cause of her behavior
I just came from party and specially writing you this mail at this time so that you people can take action against that girl
cause of her i don't wish to go their again but I really appreciate that guy who was serving their and I appreciate his calm nature.

I was getting my gas pumped when I noticed that the driver in the car next to mine was smoking so I asked the gas attendant to ask the driver to stop smoking then he started yelling at me what do you want me to do I said tell them not to smoke. He then said that I should tell then I said it's not my job. I then pointed to the big signs all over the pumps stating "NO SMOKING" I told him that I was going to report him to the police that he wasn't obeying the law. He then started yelling again that I should write down her plate number & report the driver. I then went into the gas station store to report what just happened. Just then the gas attendant can in yelling to the man behind the counter in a language that I didn't know then left. I asked the man behind their license number but he refused to give it to me.
So I decided to contact BP to see what they would have to say. The gas station is located in Medford NY Suffolk County It is on Horseblock Rd & Old Medford Ave. The driver & gas attendant should have more concern for the other people around the gas pumps.
write me back if you agree panduh815girl@aol.com

I have been working on getting a simple receipt from BP. I tried working with Eddie the manager at a bp in chapel Hill NC. He is the most rude person that I have ever tried working with. At one point he laid the phone down to help a person inside the store. I could here him cursing to the other customer because I was asking him for help. I had to beg someone in the bp front office for help only to find out that the only way I could get help is to get the manager to call in on my behalf. BP is a joke and you have lost another customer.

British Petroleum refusal to give me product I paid for

On 3/29/2009 at 17:09:57 I came into, a once regular shopped, bp gas station (site id: 6997761). I used to come into this shop every 2 days and buy a pack of cigarettes and fill up my gas tank. That is until I came upon the utmost disrespectful and horrible excuse for customer service, I have ever experienced in my life. On this particular evening, I went in as usual to purchase a pack of cigarettes.in a hurry, I grabbed my belongings off the counter, but accidentally left my purchase on the counter. Getting into my car, about to pull out of the convenience store, I realized what I had done and turned around. I waited patiently in line to speak to the gentleman at the counter.
I apologetically explained to the gentleman that I was just in the store and left my cigarettes on the counter. I pulled my receipt out of my wallet to show proof of purchase and he refused to look at it. He told me that he was not responsible for my cigarettes. He was very nasty to me and the situation. He told me that his job ended as soon as he scanned the cigarettes into the computer, that he quote, "didn't take my cigarettes." I explained to him, that I was not accusing him of taking my product, I was simply stating that they were not taken by they consumer off the counter, and I would like to take the product that I rightfully purchased home with me. He chuckled under his breath, and mimicked, "I don't know anything about your cigarettes. There were people in line, maybe they took your." I again tried to explain to him that I was not accusing anyone of taking them, I just wanted my product."I attempted once more to show him the receipt that I was in the store not even 2 minutes ago, and he again refused to look at it.
I asked to speak to his manager, or get a number to a corporate office. He laughed and said there was no corporate office, and that the manager was not in. I asked him to please write down the name of the manager and next shift he would be working. He said his name and turned away from me. I asked him a second time for the manager's name. He then said again,"I didn't take your cigarettes, you can come around the counter and see for yourself."pointing to behind the counter. I stated again,"I never said you took then sir, I am simply displeased with this level of customer service, and I need you to write down the name of your manager." he finally pulled a piece of receipt paper from the register and wrote down the name illegibly. All I can make out is his name starts with an s. And his last name is patel. The gentleman at the counter's last name was also patel.
I am absolutely stunned and infuriated with what happened on this day. Bp, may be a franchise company, but this is a well known named company. A company which should be represented with pride and respect towards their customers. With a time like this in our economy, I can not believe that a paying customer should be treated with such disrespect. Especially a regular customer like myself. As far as I am concerned this is stealing and is a racial discrimination, and this will not be tolerated. I expect resolution on this matter immediately. At this point, it's not even the price of the cigarettes, it's not even that I paid for something and was not able to leave the store with the item. It's the principle. That gentleman working was wearing a logo on his shirt. A logo representing a company. A company that should not be represented in such a shameful matter.

You were stupid and left your own purchase behind, after purchasing something it becomes your property - your responsibility, not the responsibility of the clerk. Though it is generally a nice thing to do if someone notices an absent-minded customer leaving behind an item to put that item back for the customer when or if they return to claim it, it is by far not required. Most companies, however, will reimburse you for your stupidity and give you back whatever you purchased, whether you can prove you lost it or not.

Racism, I see nothing about race in your complaint.

British Petroleum beer consumpstion /bad manners

I walked in the store and seen a man standing at the counter drinking a beer one of a six pack and two empty cans on the counter, I couldn't belive my eyes, the little fat girl and very young boy that was working there were just laughing and talking with the man, as he stood the drinking beer as if he were at a bar, then when I started to pay for my thing they were very rude to me, not even looking at me when they told my how much I owed or when they took my money, well the little fa girl did shoot me alook that I will never forget as if I was the one doing something wrong. All I know is I will never go to that store again thankfully I don't live in that area but I am going to tell a few friends about it so they don't go threw the same thing

GLOBAL BOYCOTT of BP Gas Stations

A GLOBAL Boycott has been started
To Close Down BP Franchises due to
rude service, ripoffs, bad gas,
and alleged fraudfulent charges,

In 1776 we kicked the British out of the United
States over some teabags. In 2011 we can do it
over their bad manners and other ripoffs.

As consumers, collectively, we pay the salaries
of every BP employee, OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS..

In return, we get a company that RIPS US OFF,
pollutes our Gulf of Mexico, destroys our
environment, kills our defenseless wildlife, and
INSULTS EACH OF US who pays their bills.

Then they buy off our elected officials with promises
they don't keep to clean up their mess, until the heat
dies down...Then back to business as usual.

ARE WE ALL THAT STUPID?

FIGHT BACK. KICK BP OUT.

Here is how.

This will take a little work on your part but here
is how to make an effective protest, hit BP hard in the
pocketbook and COST THEM BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN LOST
SALES with minimum effort on your part.

A. Write a polite letter stating your complaint
TO THE STORE MANAGER...THIS WILL BE IGNORED.
DONT WORRY.

B. State you are joining the GLOBAL BOYCOTT OF
BP STATIONS.

C. Send a copy of your complaint to the following
people. You can find the address on the internet.
1. Editor. WALL STREET JOURNAL
2. Chairman, British Petroleum
3. Editor, Each of your local Newspapers.
4. Editor, your Statewide Newspaper.
5. Post a copy here
6. Send a copy to the British Broadcasting Company(BBC)

D. Send email copies of your letters to your friends.
ask them to send to 10 friends. Ask them to ask
their friends to pass it on.
This will start a chain reaction of at least 10 to the
10th power...which is more than the population of
the earth. SOMEONE WILL NOTICE.

E. Add your comments. Get them in Facebook
and Twitter. Send copies of this to your friends.
Ask everyone to pass it on.

F. JOIN THE GLOBAL BOYCOTT. It's cheap, easy,
effective. SHUT BP DOWN.

British Petroleum attendants are rude and don't know how to unlock a gas cap

This was the 3rd issue at this station.I entered a full service gas station gave the attendant my gas cap key and he couldn't get the key to turn so he forced it and bent my key. Then tells me the key is broken it doesn't work. Next time I pull into the station at 7:30am Full service from 6am-10pm the sign says. He refuses to come out in the cold to pump gas, says its to cold. I had no choice but to return to this station today.(the other station near me was out of gas) I again give the attendant my key and this one snaps the key and tells me it was broken when I gave it to him. The owner manager walks over to speak with me. Starts telling me he isn't a slave to the white man no more and ranting all sorts of insane things about slavery all because I wanted a full service gas station attendant to pump the gas. As far as I know full service means they open the gas tank and pump the gas. This man scared and upset my children with his insane yelling and screaming at me. If the sign says full service from 6 am to 10 pm I believe someone who knows how to open a locking gas cap and actually comes out to pump the gas isn't too much to expect. Instead I get abused by the manager/owner of this station.

The definition of Mineola is "rude." It is a requirement to work in Mineola. Anywhere in Mineola. EXTREME rudeness rising to the level of abuse. I visited the Chamber's site which claims Mineola is America's friendliest city. They must have been celebrating "opposite day" when they wrote that. Absolutely sick, horrible people, grown by animals.

My husband put $40.00 in gas and the cashier refused to give him the change back and receipt. Called the Police to file a Report their response is it would be a smalls claims matter. What Justice System we have! $80.00 lost! To me this is theft and should be treated as such! I agree with your comment! These types of places should be shut down for good! Unfortunately we need the gas for vehicles. It really ticks me off how rude these people are and they do not care how they treat their customers! Really not right!

British Petroleum substandard fuel causing car damage

Filled my tank with gas at this station and almost immediately it starting lurching and kept stopping. Fortunately I don't live far, and we managed to get it there. Unfortunately it was four days before Christmas, so we tried gas treatments, oil, filter, all the usual and nothing worked.

I had never heard of "bad gas" so I waited until I could afford to tow it to my regular mechanic. He called to tell me the gas in the tank wouldn't even light! He saved a sample of both what he had to remove from the tank and the oil, but I now have a $1900 bill to pay there, and the owner of the BP is being uncooperative.

Though I purchased the gas on the 21st of Dec., it was a Sunday. The actual transaction showed in "pending" until the next business day, the 22nd. The receipt from my bank online shows the 22nd. He says he had NOBODY buy gas from his station on the 22nd! So unless I can prove I bought it on the 21st, I'm out all the money.

British Petroleum pumps not working properly

The BP gas station on Concord Pike, across from Charcoal Pit, needs new pumps. It is so frustrating to enter and get out of the car, open the gas door, put in the credit card and find that it says to See Cashier. So you trump inside and the attendant says "try another pump." So out you go to another pump. Same thing. The attendant says "What do you want from me - I only make minimum wage - take your complaint to the corporate office." I offered to pay by card inside, but he said he can only take cash inside. I asked for he corporate number but when I called it - right in front of him - the number was not a working number. The attendant said it is the only number he has!
Tonight was the third time this happened. I know - I should go elsewhere but it has the cheapest gas by 5-10 cents and the location is convenient. Customer Service - this is my last shot at help and then I will give up on BP.
This time the attendant said his machine registered Reject of my credit card. I stood right there and called on my cell to my credit card company. They said there is nothing on their part for any rejection - nothing has come through on their end - that it must be a problem at the station. So lo and behold, my husband pulls in with his car and Voila, his card and pump worked. I waited until he was finished, pulled up behind him and when he used HIS card it said See Cashier! Again, the pump did not work. We think it is because of the cold weather? I GIVE UP

Attendant pumped $30.00 worth of gas into my car ( as it read on the pump ) and then charged me $30.86

Had I not looked at the rec'pt I would not have noticed as the 8 & 6 are nice round type numbers

Then the attendant began to argue with me about the .86¢ and made me feel very unsafe

I have a complaint about the ice I got out of a soda machine. I 'm located in Florida. I was at your gas station and I got a soda with ice out of the machine, and to my surprise after minutes of drinking and eating the ice. I poured the soda out to eat the ice and I see something dark in the ice and it was a frozen roach in it. I feel so disgusted and sick and I think you guys need to look in to your ice machines at all times because that is very nasty.

British Petroleum gas pumps are calibrated incorrectly and attendant is abusive‎

Gas Pump Calibration:
I went to this station on an empty tank that takes a maximum of 12 gallons to fill. The gas pump read 13.152 gallons when I was finished filling up. Therefore, the pump I used was not calibrated correctly.

Abusive Attendant:
When I reported this calibration error to the attendant and asked for a refund of the overage amount, he condescended to me, saying that I "hadn't counted the gas that went into my engine" and I "hadn't even read the pump gauge". Then he forced me to tell him how the pump was improperly calibrated, so I explained my reasoning.

While I was doing so, he began to interrupt me, saying that I didn't know what the f**k I was talking about and that it wasn't any f**king business of his. So I asked to speak to his manager. He called his manager on a cell phone, but there was some difficulty in communication, and he had to call again. The difficulty reoccurred, so he told me that the manager was going to call back on another phone.

At this point, I asked whether or not the station was independently owned or owned by BP Petroleum. I told him I would be happy to address my complaint to the corporate office. I also offered to address my complaint to the MDA Fuel complaint line. He said he would give me all of those numbers if I wanted them, and then his cell phone rang again.

When he answered it and identified the person on the other line as the manager, he told the man, who he called 'Mike', that he didn't know what the f**k I wanted, some s**t about a gas pump, and I was "going f**king crazy on him". Then he began to speak to the man in Arabic. When he tried to hand the phone to me a few seconds later, I told him I didn't want to speak to 'Mike' after having been set up for failure in a language I didn't understand. He told his manager that I was crazy, that I didn't want to f**king talk to him now, and hung up.

I paid for my gas and asked for the promised telephone numbers, whereupon the attendant told me to "just get the f**k out." I repeated my request, and he said "I told you to get the f**k out, so get the f**k out. Get in your piece of s**t Ford Focus and get the f**k out." When I turned around to leave, he shouted "I hope you fit through the f**king door."

Obviously, I was deeply concerned about the incident. I called the Ann Arbor police, and it is my understanding that they sent officers out to speak with the attendant. I also plan to call the MDA Fuel line and the BP Consumer Relations department tomorrow morning.

For your reference, here are these numbers:

MDA Fuel: 1-800-MDA-FUEL
BP Consumer Relations: [protected]

Should you need the police after doing business with these people, the Ann Arbor Dispatch number is: [protected]

Obviously, I would advise against doing business with them at all.

BP dumped 2 million gallons of bad fuel on the market in chicago suburbs and NW Indiana. Vehicle are breaking down or not starting. They are doing nothing to fix the problem. If you take your vehicle to a dealer, you have to pay up front and hope to get your money back

I purchased gas from a Bp station today that's located at Laramie and North ave. in Chicago on this date at approx. 5pm. I noticed that before I had begun to pump gas that it was already registering $0.07 so I decided to complain to the cashier who had waited on me. By this time, he informed me that it was now registering $0.10.
This was before I pumped any gas. The response from the attendant became hostile and disrespectful and would take a hour to describe. This wasn't the first time this had occurred, but the first time I decided to complain. It also made me wonder if this was happening on a regular basis did this mean that the public was being swindled out of substantial sums of money over periods of time.
I asked a stranger who just happened to be standing nearby about the situation and he replied that this also happens to him regurlary but he had just never taken the time to complain. I contacted our city's consumer affairs dept. and I'm now waiting on them to send me a form to complete. I also attempted to contact Bp's consumer relations dept., and after a recording told me that there was an average wait time of one minute to speak to a live representative I was put on hold for approx. 15 minutes before I decided to hang up. I will never spend a dime with Bp and advise all of my friends, relatives, acquaintances and strangers alike to reconsider doing business with a company that allow their employees to be so disrespectful to the buying public and individual stations to engage in unethical business practices.

I was ripped off at a Bp gas station In North Brunswick NJ on 10/08/08 . I only needed 5 gal of gas when I went into the station but the man manage to put in 10 gal. My car has a 16 gal tank and when I went into the gas station. I had 3 quarters of a tank a according to my gas gage which is never wrong. Gas even over flowed onto my car before he could shut off the pump. Also to all pumps were running very slow. It took him 10 min to fill my tank . I complain to the manerger but he said I was wrong and would not make an ajustment in the price. He was selling reg. at 297.09 a gal. I feel at the very most I should have only put in 20 dollars not 30 dollars. I've always uses bp gas but now I don't know if I will again.

British Petroleum refused service dog

I was verbally assaulted by a store employee when I entered with my service animal and refused to give them my name, address, phone, and disability in writing. I was further refused service and made to leave under threatening of police involvement. I'm still shaken by this and have been informed by the one who was yelling at me that this is store policy. Apparently unless I am willing to sign away my medical privacy rights I'm not allowed to shop there simply because I am a disable American who depends on a service dog.

The store should have the right to not allow an animal in their store.

If you don't like it shop somewhere else.

On Friday August15 at approximately 5pm I walked into a Race Way Gas Station on 18302 N.W 183 st. I approached the counter and removed 30 Dollars from my waist bag, and asked the attendant to place same amount of gas on pump 15 where my vehicle was parked. The attendant gave me an angry look and started to verbally abuse me that i was giving him crushed up money and should not come back in that store with money like that. Iwent to pump my gas but attendant didnot put gas onservice. I pressed attendant button but he ignored me.After waiting for at least 6minutes i returned to the inside store and told the attendant to put the gas on the pump or return the money. He continued to be verbally abusive stating i do not know how to use gas pump, and he is not going to return my money . I decided to call the police, and had to wait approximately two hours for the officer to arrive .He finally put the gas on the pump as the officer stood there. I do not think that the owners of this company should tolerate such behaviour, in this company. I am demanding an apology and a gas card as an incentive for the time, emotional distress, and trouble that attendant put me through.

British Petroleum double charged

I was double charged by bp oil. Yes they resversed the charges after a couple of days but by then the dammage was done. the second time they put the charge through it caused me to be over drawn which caused a second item to bounce, costing me $76 in bank fees and now they tell me it will be 4-6 weeks before I get that money back. That was money I could not afford to lose and I need it back now.

British Petroleum bad gas

I went to this gas station on monday june 2, 2008 to fill up my brand new yukon xl denili 2008. I paid about $130.00 and left. The next day my engine light came on so I took it to the dealership to see what was wrong with it and they told me that I put bad gas in the car. The gas I put in was mixed with water and they needed to drain it. They told me that they had to get all the gas out of the engine, and out all the places the gas runs to in my brand new suv. They don't cover bad gas and now I have t0 come up with $600.00 after I just purchased a $70, 000.00 automobil. I am very mad about this and I will never never purchase gas from another bp as long as I live. So anyone whom uses these gas station better watch out or you will get screwed. The whole thing that gets me is that I thought bp was the best gas around but, I was wrong.

I experienced the same thing. I have a Mitsubishi Lancer Gts 09 with only about 6k miles on it. Went to put $10 worth of gas at a BP station in or near Sycamore, IL. on December 21st 2010. Shortly there after, my car started losing power and idoling low. Thought it was weird. Tried driving back home from Sycamore to Crystal Lake, which is about a 45minute drive. The car had the same problem the whole way home, which made for a stressful drive. I got home safely, let the car sit for a few days, and when I tried to start it up again it would die on me. If I let off the gas the rpm would drop and the car die out. So I had to call the dealership and have the car towed over to them. They found out it was poor gas and in order to empty the gas and fill it with good gas it would cost me $350. I was very upset. Unfortunatly, the attendant at the gas station I had went to never gave me a receipt. I hardly ever go to BP, but never again. Shell is the better place to go. Up until this happened, my thought was both places had good quality gas; that just isn't the case anymore. Again, Shell is better and that's why I typically go there. Whenever paying in cash, MAKE SURE YOU GET A RECEIPT. Hopefully I can get reimbursed for the tow and repair, but might not be likely. Hard lesson to learn. As a major gas company, one would think quality would be on their mind and taking care of the customer. Just have to wait and see what happens.

I live in Warren Ohio and my husband has been haveing pretty much the same issue. He filled his gas tank up on a Friday and pretty soon after that his car started to act up. We thought it had nothing to do with the gas or BP. However we thought we fixed the problem and he went to get his car from a friends house since it stalled on him close to his house. He brought the car home Sunday during the day, and that night he had to go somewhere and on his way home the car did it again. He was able to coast into our drive way. I am wanting to report this to someone higher up however the BP that we normally go to did not give him proof that he bought gas from them the day he did. How do I go about doing that? Now I have to find the part that he might need in order for the car to hopefully run until payday. So I am advising people who might read this who live where I do not to use the BP station on East Market in Warren Ohio.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Bikes ran good going into fill with gas. Bikes stopped working after filling with gas from this station. Removed gas and replaced with gas from a Mobile station. Bikes ran good again.
I only conclude that the gas purchase at this station was bad. The owner was very rude. I suggest that no one purchase gas at this station.

I stopped at Hanover, IL at a BP station on Saturday August 15, 2010. I was riding my 2005 Ultra Classic and with friends riding also a 2005 Ultra Classic and a Gold Wing. We all were in need of gas the Ultras filled with 93 octane and the Honda used the middle grade. Even before we got out of the parking lot both Classic stalled as did the Honda. I immediately went in to tell the attendant that they were selling bad gas and that I insisted to talk with the owner/manager. The attendant called the owner whom was very rude and insisted that the gas was not bad. After siphoning the gas out of the Classic tanks and putting in gas from Mobile we were able to get our bikes running. The Honda took a bit more to get running. Total time lost was 5 hours. Part of the reason for the long wait was due to the effort to find the hoses containers and good people to help with going to a nearby town to get good gas. I am grateful for the good local people that helped with the draining of the gas. I told the owner that she should mark her pumps but she was again rude. As several other bikers arrived to get gas I went to warn them. She suggested that I stop telling her customers or she would have me removed from the property. Later as we retuned from Galena there were other bikers there stuck as we with tanks of bad gas and bikes that would not run. Having been through it all I was able to advise and get them going quickly. I was reimbursed for the gas but not for our lost time. The time lost cost us a nights stay in a local motel $210.00 and 5 hours of riding that we planned for in the Galena, Savanna IL area. Shame on you BP, BP wholesaler and BP station. My further advise, don’t stop at the BP station in Hanover.

I recently had problems with my truck. in the last 5 weeks Sometimes it would start, sometimes it wouldn't. I can't count how many times my truck was in the garage, every other day. plus 2 other mechanics looked at it, in total, in the last 5 weeks it cost me $2800.00. Nobody can figure out whats wrong. too many expensive parts to list. I can say the fuel pump was replaced twice. So I paid for that twice. (different mechanics of course) I have had this truck for 9 years. I have been wacking my brains out. What is the problem. Finally a week ago I realized that I switched gas stations. My Getty went out of business and BP bought it. Well I started going there about 5 and a half weeks ago. THAT'S WHEN I STARTED HAVEING PROBLEMS I changed stations just to see. AND GUESS WHAT? It has starts every time. All the parts I had replaced, I didn't need any of them. Now it's only been 6 days. But so far, For me, it looks like it was the gas I had been putting in it. Nobody believes me yet. so we will see what happens in the next few weeks. If it was really the gas.
well what am I to do?

I went to bp on August 28.2009 to buy gas. I filled my take up and park my car in my garage and went on vacation after a week. I took my car out to go to the store and it started smoking and the Engine light comes on, and I drove my car from my house to the dealer that was only 15 miles on a full tank when I reached my dealership my car read empty. It cost me 800.00 dollars for my maixma to be drain as well the other person that worte in. I'm still trying to see the manager at the gas station with the receipt and paper work from the dealership. I spoke with him over the phone and he said that he would call me back and never did. So I been going by their every day. with no luck. Please I'm asking everyone to please be careful. This was the only type of gas that I ever used in my cars. Never again. Who can I contact about this?
