BodyLogicMD Medical negligence and potential malpractice

Here is the list of unacceptable facts:

1. Doctor got my special bodylogic urine and saliva test results back and couldn’t make sense of why the testosterone levels of these were so completely different from the blood work she wound up sending me for anyway. She brushed it off as “I don’t know why but whatever”.

2. She said she saw my blood work labs but when I asked her what the numbers were she had to get off the phone and called me back later to say “they just sent over the labs”. She was going to give me the medical plan based on the what labs then?! She saw the bloodwork and gave me recommendations.

3. My own fault was that I didn’t see the progesterone ordered in my bodylogic chart. Some pharmacy that I’ve never used nor know where it is called me and left a message that my script was ready for pick up but I ignored it because it wasn’t my pharmacy. The doctor never checked w me about the progesterone when she implanted my pellets. I wasn’t taking it because I didn’t have it. I gained six pounds and felt like I was going to get my period for two weeks. I left four messages over a weeks time and she finally called me back! She was surprised to hear that I wasn’t taking the progesterone. When I went to pick it up at my pharmacy they couldn’t fill the script because her “NPI was inactive”. They tried calling her in front of me on two different numbers…left messages. I tried calling and left messages. No response for hours. Not until the next day and then she said the first she heard of it was that morning. She said she got no messages on her machine or through her service when the pharmacist and I both left messages.

The script read “take daily at bedtime”. So I did. It didn’t say to take for two weeks and then go off for two weeks…which is what my friends in the antiaging space all confirmed is best most often. So before I heard this from my friends, I had been taking it daily for three weeks. I started bleeding and had horrible migraines. I wrote to the doctor last Wednesday saying I needed to hear from her on this and then I tried again today. Today, her nurse or receptionist replied “I will forward this email to the doctor again”. I have yet to hear from her.

Desired outcome: Full refund of fees paid to become a BodyLogicMD patient.

BodyLogicMD Refund my $299 for a test kit that I returned

On October 9th, I did a hormone replacement search on the internet and Body Logic came up. I put a request for info, thinking it was a local doctors office. A lady called me the next day and told me how great it was. She said I would have to get a kit to have tests done before seeing the nurse practitioner. I gave her my card info for the $299 charge. I asked her for the address and when I looked it up, it was a residential location, which confused me. She said she didn't know where it was because she was in FL. -Another red flag- Once we hung up, I researched more and sure enough, it was a residential location and also the Dr. Donohue that I thought I would be seeing in Birmingham, is actually in Georgia. The whole thing sounded very shady, so the next day I called back and told the lady I didn't feel comfortable with the whole thing and asked for my money to be refunded. She told me it was non-refundable and immediately closed the case. When I got the kit in the mail a few days later, I sent it back "Return To Sender". The fact that I got absolutely nothing nor saw anyone and they won't refund my money is just wrong! We cancelled my HSA card for fear more money would be taken out. It's so disappointing that people seeking a local doctor are mislead like this. Please refund my $299!

BodyLogicMD Body Logic Unauthorized Charges

I had no idea that this place is such a scam. They charged my card for "administrative fees' of $229 even after "becoming an actual patient" I was never told there would be ongoing administrative charges + tons of $$ spent every month on random vitamins you can get at CVS, urine kits, office visits, post office visits etc.. They call & email constantly & are totally inept when you need something not involving money in their pocket. I got just 1 set of pellets & I'm out thousands of dollars. I don't feel any different - just poorer & dumb for not fully vetting this franchise. Please refund the last "admin fee" of $229 that I did not authorize

Desired outcome: Refund

BodyLogicMD Bhth

I'm not a client nor will I ever be, my experience is this... I called Bodylogic md to see if they would be right for me, the sales people lie about pricing, they gave me a price on the product, they sent me an email the price had more than doubled and that high price was a reacuring payment, I cancelled at that point, I called, emailed and texted them with no response from them, I didn't authorize the charge on my credit card but they charged me anyway, now they are telling me the charge's are non refundable, again I am not a client, I have told them I expect a full refund, with no results, that's fraud when you charge someone's credit card without authorization and I didn't receive any service or products from them, I was told by the sales person that they never touch or do anything with your card without authorization, which is a lie, they did charge my card illegally and refuse to give me a refund

Desired outcome: Full Refund

BodyLogicMD service, cost, transparency

So i initially went to body logic in Connecticut (there are several through out the country) with the intention of getting my hormones balanced. I bought into the idea that i would need a great deal of blood work and extensive physical exam and interview on my first visit. First of all, the lab work is not covered by any health insurance because they use a lab out of Florida. I'm not sure why and if they get any kickback from this lab, but it is contracted out. Then the office visit that I paid +/- $300 for was just a talk that included very benign questions. I had to bring in a copy of my mammogram and pap smear that I had already had from a previous doctor. They weighed me and took a blood pressure. If I wanted to know my fat percent, I would have to actually pay MORE money. Then the therapy began. I was prescribe a hormone; again, through a company in Florida. Then I was told that I would need a phone consultation in a month to see how the medication is working which cost me another +/- $200 for less than 15 minutes. Then of course came the pellets. I needed testosterone pellet. So in between the appointments, i had a pellet treatment. The insertion was a cost, the med was a cost, the kit was a cost. Then I was slapped with a consultation cost. So what was the insertion cost? The nurse said it was because the doctor had to "talk to me" about the procedure. Well I was given a hand out for the procedure so I guess they just wanted to slap another cost on me. So a year has passed and I have tolerated this over charging. Then I had new labs drawn to check how my levels are currently. I get a charge from the lab for $200 and then from the office for $200. I was told that the office had to charge me an "administrative charge" which is merely just for ordering the lab work. Oh so I still need to go back and pay an office visit of $300 for the interpretation of the labs. HIGHWAY ROBBERY. This is truly unethical. I work in healthcare and know that this is NOT the way things operate. So I found another office where the actual doctor visit is paid by insurance. These physicians at Bodylogic do not want to be in network just to be able to charge obscene amounts. This doctor who is covered under insurance only charges $170 per visit which is the usual charge of a doctor's visit. The labs are all ordered here in state to be covered by insurance and they use a local pharmacy. They are transparent about what is a "pay out of pocket" charge. So my advice to you is do your research before getting your money stolen by these physicians who are not practicing out of caring for their patients, but merely for the purpose of capitalizing on their need to find relief from illness. So very disappointed.

BodyLogicMD Antiaging Doctor located in Woodbridge NJ

Follow up: Excessive cost I'm broke with no results.
Sorry it took so long for a follow up but I was waiting for Vinny Albano a Patient Service, Team Lead at Bodylogicmd to contact me regarding my 4, 000 testing fee sudmitted to my insurance from Dr. Ohri office located in Woodbridge NJ. After are initial discussion over the phone last November 2015. I felt confidence that the situation would be resolved in a timely manner and I was assured by Mr. Albano that he would personally look into the excessive testing charges $4, 000 total submitted to my insurance from Dr. Ohri office and get back to me. Since last November I have left two dozen voice messages with no response from Mr. Albano no response at all. A bright spot in that initial meeting is Dr. Ohri did refund my office visit the refund was $395 Thank you.
I feel royally screwed over and very frustrated I only ask in my voice messages left to Mr Albano answering machine to give me a call for a quick follow up no response.
I have on choice but to file a complaint with the New Jersey Medical Board. Anyone thinking about hormone supplements do not get involved with Bodylogicmd Unless for like to get overcharge or have tons of money to burn.

BodyLogicMD Excessive Cost, I Am Broke, With No Results

The cost of visiting the BodyLogicmd doctor in Woodbridge NJ are OUTRAGEOUS. Plus I was lied to by the phone representative about the cost of treatment and payment. Here is the current breakdown on what I owe and what I have paid. Office visit $395.00 paid at time of service. Medication from Wells Pharmacy $184.95 + $9.95 for shipping. Mail order pharmacy network. Thirty day supply only. Paid at time of order. Urine test from Wells Pharmacy $195.00 paid at time of purchase. Outstanding bill submitted to insurance for additional urine test $249.00. Outstanding bill for blood work denied by my insurance $1, 200.00. Outstanding bill for lab work denied by my insurance $2, 900.00. Plus the BodyLogicmd wrote up a prescription of Bodylogic supplements I should purchase in the office and take morning, noon and night a whopping total of 17 different vitamin the cost of each around $50-$80 dollars for only a 30 day supply. I did not purchase. Personally I feel like I have been royal screw over and it will be a hardship for me to pay the bill, but we will make it happen. The only thing this Woodbridge NJ doctor did was order a whole bunch of test and read them back to me during the office visit. Broke in New Jersey

Hi,
Congratulations and welcome on taking your next step for your better health! You are unique in your genetics, environmental influence and aging. What I offer is Personalized Medicine. This is a 360-degree healthcare approach by combining hormone balance using bioidentical hormones including thyroid and adrenals, optimizing aging and degenerative diseases, helping gut issues, detoxification, heavy metal testing and chelation, reversing blood sugar issues, coronary artery disease, sleep issues, libido issues, mood issues, hair loss, detecting vitamin deficiencies and optimization. Evaluation and management of risk factors for cardiac disease, osteoporosis, cancer, prediabetes, prehypertension, Alzheimer’s, dementia etc.
The first step in your future best health starts with self-education. If you are interested, there are some great books! Many of you have read Suzanne Somers books on various aspect of aging and hormone replacement!
We will all, get older but don’t have to age into disease! These are the golden years, when you have the time to enjoy and the money and wisdom to do the things that you may have postponed all your life. Our bodies start to degenerate as soon as nature turns off or down the life sustaining hormones. Our brains start to shrink, Arthritis sets in including Osteoporosis, with increased risk of Diabetes, cardiac disease, hypertension and Obesity. With our GMO and poorly balanced diets, inadequate nutritional support, vitamins, toxins in our environment we start with mental fogginess, fatigue, depression, hot flashes, night sweats, difficulty sleeping, memory problems, hair loss and start gaining weight.
Why should I see AN Antiaging doctor/BodyLogicMD doctor outside of my insurance coverage and pay out of pocket?
No one likes to pay out of pocket for something that is satisfactorily covered by insurance!
If your primary care physicians or doctors in your network can give you adequate help in this journey, you DO NOT NEED to come to a functional medicine/Anti-Aging doctor like me. This is a personal and financial decision/ journey and is certainly not for everyone. There is no quick fix and needs commitment. Having said that, comparing oranges to oranges, in the Anti-Aging/Functional Medicine/Bio-identical hormones replacement Arena BLMD physicians are the most trained, charge less than the norm in their areas (I don’t speak of all practices, however).
I do not participate with ANY INSURANCE INCLUDING MEDICARE insurance and you pay cash for my services. If you have out of network coverage, you may submit it to your insurance for reimbursement. I will give you the superbill with the ICD 10 codes needed for coverage. Most regular insurances will not cover anything.
My patients are discerning and put their health first and the reasons they give: Most traditional doctors are limited in their understanding of functional medicine/restorative medicine/bioidentical hormone replacement. Patients are frustrated with the lack of time – most primary care offices can give no more than seven minutes per patient per visit, given the demands of running a practice. There are many layers of practice demands/hospital demands/insurance issues between the patient and a physician in this present environment. In this environment with both the physician and the patient are dissatisfied, no one has the time to sit down and figure out the real reason, for example, your poor sleep. It’s easier to scribble out a script of Ambien/Lunesta and be out the door. This actually compounds the problem rather than solving it.
On the other hand, most of my patients, over time, get off of sleeping pills, antidepressants, decrease the dose of anti -hypertensives and cholesterol medicine.
What is BodyLogicMD?
It’s a group of highly trained Anti -Aging/ BHRT/Functional Medicine doctors who have their individual franchises in different states. The BodyLogicMD corporate vets the physician thoroughly and a Fellowship in A4M Antiaging and Bio-identical hormone replacement(BHRT) is required. A membership in the A4 M and continuing medical education is also required.
Each part of the BLMD structure is carefully structured to give the best quality in professional, safety of treatment (easy access to, at least twice a year urine hormones and their breakdown products, blood work. Association with carefully selected compounding pharmacies with a track record, supplements that are clean, bioavailable, best quality, most are gluten-free, filler free.)
In short – BodylogicMD corporate is the mothership with the individually moving parts, that interact with each other:
• individual doctor offices
• carefully selected compounding pharmacies
• carefully selected high quality supplements system
• physician labs for specialized testing hormones
What to expect as a new patient?
Most of my patients arrive at my office either by word-of-mouth or through the website.
When you call the number on our website you will get to speak with one of my representatives uniquely associated with my practice (she is physically in Boca Raton). She will give you your first information about what kind of practice this is, information about my training and I, the process of becoming a new patient, and the associated charges and labs. You may also go to WWW.foreverYounghealthcare.com for more information.
I am listing my charges below for transparency and to reduce any confusion to any of my prospective patients.
Presently my consultation charges are (may go up in near future)
– Initial visit in office – one hour: $395
– Follow-Up Visit – approximately 30 minutes phone/office: $295
– Brief Visit – 15 minutes, mostly phone $150.
- Hormonal pellet implantation procedure charges only – $350 (Men), $300 (women). Patient pays separately to the pharmacy for the pellets and the implantation kit (approx.? 22$/pellet-confirm with pharmacy)
If you still have some questions, feel free to call my office directly by choosing 732 – 807 – 2499 extension 4. Patti, who was previously my patient, and is now my office manager is very well versed with the process and will help you through it if you have any questions.
Do I need to do labs before my first appointment?
Our present and future health is reflected in the blood sugar levels, thyroid, hormones, cholesterol, inflammation, stress levels. For complete optimization is important to establish a baseline and treat diseases in their infancy, in the gray zone. It’s truly important to have all this data and the nearly 60 to 90 minutes of physician attention to get to the true root of ill health, symptoms and treat them in a holistic way. Even though, this kind of medicine is truly an art, all the biomarkers and labs help us know, we are steering correctly and gives us data to see improvement. Which is very encouraging for me personally and my patients in their subsequent visits.
You receive a small box with instructions for urine collection to check for your hormones/it’s metabolites and adrenals PLUS a script for blood work to take to Quest or Labcorp. A minimal charge of $195 is charged for handling fee by bodylogicMD corporate at Boca Raton. It could be slightly different, in the state of New York, where only saliva test is allowed
The Quest/Labcorp labs should be covered, like any routine labs, if you have insurance.
Now if you have a high deductible or a poor insurance that limits your labs, please discuss it directly with my office or me. Out of thousands of patients that I have treated successfully, I have seen one or two patients with the above problem. I wish all my patients to smoothly transition into health and wellness and I will try to help as much as I can, given our small local office staff. There are so many insurances, with so many permutation combinations, it’s impossible for me to foresee your running into any problems with coverage. It’s always best for you to call your insurance personally to make sure you don’t get a bill at the end of the day. The Physician Lab (Urine hormone test) per se submits to your insurance a certain amount to be paid for the urine test. It accepts whatever the insurance company may pay. Sometimes your insurance company may decline payment, at that time even if it’s a loss to the Physician Labs, they may just add on $ 100 to your previous charge of $195.Physician Lab does not charge you for the declined amount by your insurance! So even if you get a bill from your insurance showing it declined, say $2000 to PHYL labs, you do not pay any more than the previously noted $100 (to my understanding). If you have recent labs from your primary care physician, these can be used instead of the blood work.
Once your labs are completed, you are put on my schedule to be seen. How soon you can be seen, depends upon your ability to quickly do the tests and return the urine testing. At the earliest, with the labs you would be seen in three weeks. However, if you have disabling symptoms and want to be seen ASAP, you can make an appointment with me and I can work with you to mitigate some of the symptoms while we do the testing after the visit.
What to Expect during Your Initial Visit?
You will be met by my office staff. All the consultation charges, Hormonal pellet implantation charges will be discussed again. Informed consent and consent to treat taken. Your blood pressure, pulse, body impedance analysis done.
My consultation charges are noted above.
I go over detailed history again with you, physical exam, a detailed analysis of your labs with you. It’s imperative for you to understand your labs and their meaning in health. One of the reasons I’m getting nearly hundred percent positive results with my patients is because we have a true partnership. We have a common goal, education, understanding of the roadblocks and work together towards true health. After that I make a plan to follow for the next two months which may include bioidentical hormones, quality supplements, information regarding nutrition, exercise, lifestyle etc. This Is Personalized Medicine and apart from some basic supplements that everybody should be on, every person is unique and the requirements may differ from person to person and even the same person at different times.
What to expect in between visits?
Human body is complex. It’s not static, it’s in flux and it can take a few visits to optimize your hormones, detoxify and banish the symptoms. There is a significant mind and body connection. I encourage meditation, tai chi, yoga, walking away from negativity and people that decrease your happy vibrations. Thoughts are known to change the epigenetics. If we are not eating well, drinking tons of alcohol, submitting to wasteful thoughts, no amount of supplements can negate that. Sleep hygiene is important. Most of my patients will tell me the first thing they notice is better sleep, decreased hot flashes and night sweats, more energy and a better mood. Both men and women notice an increase in the libido. Every person’s journey is different. Obviously this journey can take longer for some people, especially if you have severe adrenal fatigue, candida, heavy metal toxicity, osteoporosis, memory issues. Most people start feeling better in a few weeks, but for complete transformation to good health it can take up to two years for patients with severe adrenal fatigue.
If you have any side effects or symptoms to the treatment, feel free to contact my office directly. We will help you the best of our abilities.
– My office is open for patients Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10 AM to 6 PM and on some Fridays. However, our back office in Boca Raton is open five days a week and they can help you with scheduling or lab issues. My NJ office staff does check for messages left in the mornings of Mondays and Fridays. They will contact me in case of an emergency or you could contact my local NJ office directly by writing to blmdedison@bodylogicmd.com. If you have an Emergency go to your PCP or ER or dial 911. This is regenerative/ restorative medicine and stuff like this happens very rarely. Like with anything else, if you think you are having an allergic reaction, stop the product or all products, till evaluation.
– You will receive information and newsletters from BodylogicMD corporate, which may appear coming from me directly. This is not the correct email to contact me. If you hit reply and send me a query, I will not receive it. You may think I am not replying to you. In any case call the NJ office when in doubt.
What will be the frequency of visits?
This differs greatly again. I have patients with more complicated issues including multiple sclerosis etc. that like to see me every 1 to 2 months (patients who were on wheelchair and are now walking without a cane :-) and others who have been stabilized over the years and only need to be seen twice a year. It’s important to keep an eye on the labs and the hormones as the needs shift over time.
In the first year after the initial visit, I will see you for follow-up every 2 to 3 months with labs. If needed there could be some additional specialized labs that investigate for gut health, food intolerances, heavy metals, candida, genetic problems beyond traditional labs. These may not be covered by insurance. I would suggest them to you if necessary, at that point you can decide if you want to do them or not.
Do I continue with my primary care physician, gynecologist, urologist and other specialists?
Absolutely! I’m here like your coach, personalized medicine specialist but you must continue your routine follow-ups with your other doctors. Continue your health screenings and follow-ups with your PCP, especially if you have medical problems. Please bring with you or forward me your screening procedures and any labs that you may do with your primary care physician or other physicians in between visits.

Compounding pharmacies and cost?
The pharmacies we work with are PCAB certified, selected carefully with consistently delivering high quality products and since we do a high volume with them, you will find their prices lower than most compounding pharmacies. Depending on your needs an average person is on estrogen/testosterone and progesterone creams – appx 50-60 $/month/cream or if pellets implantation $300-350/3-5 mths and additional progesterone capsules for women.

Supplements?
There are billions of companies offering many products on line and on shelves of your local pharmacies. It’s impossible to know the quality and bioavailability of all. A raid by the Inspector General’s office in NY on GNC, Walgreens, Walmart and Target showed in many supplements were spurious, there was mostly rice powder and were not even gluten free. The labels said one thing and the capsule ingredients another. The supplements I deal with, are guaranteed and physician grade. My patients can tell the difference immediately. But again, if you are on supplements and your lab values e.g. Vitamin D is in the optimal range of more than 65, I don’t change it. Most patients on their first visit are toxic, depleted and very fatigued. As symptoms improve we decrease the supportive supplements and usually by 6-8 months of treatment, patients are only on health maintenance supplements and doses.
So, here’s the short version:
– Doctor Visits: Initial visit than 3-4 follow up visits/year, may include Pellet visits
– Compounding pharmacy - every 60 days dispensed together unless on pellets
– Supplements
– AT A MINIMUM 2 Urine PHYL and bloodwork/ year
– Specialty labs as needed
Complete compliance with visits and labs is necessary for safe and best practices

BodyLogicMD Scam

Please do not waste your hard earned money at this place. They are not qualified to make an accurate diagnosis, have no interest in finding or correcting the cause, are grossly incompetent and will bleed you dry of every dime you have. I truly don't know how they sleep at night. I've been to four doctors in the last 18 months looking for an accurate diagnosis and none of them seems to have a clue but Dr Thackery and his nurse practitioner Susan are the most incompetent doctors/practitioners I've ever experienced. Their only motivation is to charge you exorbitant fees and set up auto pay for supplements from their office and for prescriptions from their pharmacy. For starters, they did not accurately diagnosis me. I have tumors on my thyroid and on my pituitary gland and yet they never tested my pituitary or did any kind of ultrasound on either. They filled me up with tons of supplements, some of which were totally unnecessary and more costly then what I could buy them for through Pure Encapsulation. They didn't order the correct labs and told me I have no problem with my adrenals even though the test results clearly indicated that even though I was on Hydrocortisone for Adrenal Fatigue (which is nearly always the case when you are hypothyroid as I am) AND they refused to prescribe the Hydrocort which caused me to relapse quite bad and it will take my body months to recover. They put me on synthetic thyroid meds which more often than not are not as effective as desiccated thyroid meds that are derived from pigs. They never checked my reverse T3 nor did they want to prescribe any T3 even though what tests they did run showed my T3 was low. They rely solely on your lab results when prescribing medications and supplements and pay absolutely no attention to your symptoms. For example, I was four months into treatment and not improved at all and they would not adjust any of my meds nor would they run the lab tests I requested. They will insist that labs must be run every 6 weeks, which is rarely necessary, and at a cost of $195-$395 which is in addition to the $295 office visit every 8 weeks. I've never seen a doctor who charged $295 for a routine follow up visit. It's not standard in the industry and not warranted considering the level of care and lack of competence. Oh and in 4-5 months under their care, I only saw the doctor one time for about 15 minutes. They are charging those astronomical fees and you don't even see or speak to the doctor. This place should be shut down and they need to be sued for malpractice! And good luck getting through to anyone when you call. I have to call and leave a message just to make an appointment for my initial consultation! That should have been my first clue, and when I have to call for a follow up visit, I have to leave a message and email them once or twice to get a response. The same medicine their pharmacy was charging me $144 for I can get at Walgreens for $62 but I had to insist on getting my prescriptions filled locally rather than with their pharmacy.

These people are crooks! DO NOT schedule an appointment to see them. RUN as far away from them as you can get. I have been to a competent doctor and he is shocked at how much they missed and how insufficient their labs were and at how they ignored the obvious signs for pituitary problems

BodyLogicMD Bad Advice Nearly Killed My wife

We paid over $1122.94 out of pocket expense as our insurance would only cover $230.78 Total waste of money since Dr. Michelle Schultz was not able to help in treating my wife in her Hypo Thyroid condition. Michelle advised taking large doses of Kelp herbal supplements. My wife had a bad reaction to it as many hypothyroid patients cannot take it.
She almost died at home from the reaction.
chriskresser.com/iodine-for-hypothyroidism-like-gasoline-on-a-...‎
Dr Michelle only replied back to one email as she told us at her office she values her privacy. This shows us they are in it for the money as a phone call conversation will cost $185
Not a very compassionate place or DR, just out to make money, off of people suffering and trying to find a cure or re leaf.
My wife was also told to eat several types of berries. One we have found out strawberries should not be eaten by hypo
thyroid patients. Was also told to take Adrene Vive which 1 hour after taking it she developed heart burn which took a week to calm down after she stopped taking the supplement.
Very disappointed in Body Logic.

Gayle Mason email her at wisdomandwellness@yahoo.com Near Milwaukee. Tell her we sent you. She is not in it for the money. Will do testing that is as cheap as you can get.. She is always researching to get more training about auto immune problems and Women's health. Takes her time with patients, uses natural supplements. Thyroid problems start with an auto immune condition targeting the thyroid. It even cause hormone issues.
Gayle has helped a lot. Good Luck. You can contact us if you need more help .Fred & Dawn fred1@jcwifi.com

BodyLogicMD unethical practices

read the other complaints here and you will get an idea of what your dealing with. I have been on NRT for seven years and was trying to find a knowledgeable physician that was closer to home. Short but sweet body logic trys to get you to submit insurance claims for services you do not receive. I cannot get my insurance claims filed out properly by Smita Ohri MD. After consultation she prescribed a hormone regime different than what I had been on ...I have been suffering for about a month now with hot flashes and night sweats. For this suffering I have paid almost a 1000.? I have left pleading, angry messages with her office for some one to return my calls...and they fall on deaf ears. Body logic has since refunded fees for the mail order tests I never received but the insurance reinburstment and my suffering have not been addressed. This so called Dr. should be ashamed of herself and should not be practicing. She does not give a hoot about anyones well being. STAY AWAY FROM BODY LOGIC. I will not call again but I will be disputing office visit charges on my credit card. I bet I get a call back then...u think? If you need referrerals for NRT give a call to the compounding pharmacy neartest you. They can give you a lot of information about what Dr's use there services..Dont get burned like I did. THERE IS NO NEED TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for hormones...Dont be the new cash cow for these crooks.

This is a follow up to my precious Post above.
After Dr Ohri read my post on this complaint board she sent me an email saying she canceled my Feb appt for my pellet injection and dismissed me as her patient!
I responded back to her saying it was unethical and unprofessional to cancel my appointment without my knowledge or permission.
I've spent a lot of time and money at this practice. Just because I was trying to report about her office shouldn't give her the right to cancel my pellet order and injection appointment.
So much for compassion and her experience in BHT;(
Pellets are not easy to deal with and I was experiencing a lot of side effects. It was difficult getting her to answer my concerns at first. She did eventually get back to me after I told office manager I shouldn't have to pay $150 to ask her a question regarding the pellets she inserted in me.
It's extremely frustrating dealing with the BodyLogic method! One company provides/sells you the supplements, which in my case was hundreds of dollars per month. The BHT is processed through a different company called Wells Pharmacy out of Florida. This does not include blood work, urine tests-through a specialty company out of state and also a saliva test, also sent out through another company!
It's exhausting, not to mention extremely expensive! None of which is covered under insurance!
I mentioned to Dr Ohri how exhausting this process is from a patient stand point. She wrote back some generic email how they strive to be the best, blah blah blah!
Bottom line, I tried to give my opinion about her practice and she got pissed and canceled my appointment and dismissed me as a patient!
How nice would it have been for her office to inform new patients about the process and take them through it gently and gradually. I was bombarded and overwhelmed with information brand new to me, supplements I was told I needed from BodyLogic, expensive blood, urine and saliva tests on top of the costly office fees! One fee for consult and another fee for pellet injection.
Unless you have a ton of money to burn, lots of time and patience-stay away!

Hi,
Congratulations and welcome on taking your next step for your better health!

I've spent thousands of dollars with BodyLogic Dr Ohri in Woodbridge, NJ! The office is not organized, the supplements are extremely expensive and the auto order department is so confusing and exhausting to deal with!
The office is not open every day which makes it difficult to get answers to your questions!
At first, it seemed to be working for me and then I started experiencing extreme breast tenderness and swelling in my ankles. I've tried reaching out via email and no response from Dr. Ohri.
Now the office called and asked to set up a consultation w Dr Ohri for $150! Are you kidding me?
I can't even tell you how much money I've spent in that office between pellet injections, consultations, testing, etc.
It's insane!

Hi NJ Carol,

I wanted to reach out to you and get a little more detail regarding your concerns with regard to your experience with Dr. Ohri. The experience that you describe does not sound typical of the experiences that so many women and men have had with our network of physicians. The physicians of the BodyLogicMD network pride themselves on being extremely concerned with their patients, and more often than not, you will find that they transitioned out of traditional medicine to functional medicine to dedicate more time and focus more energy on each of their patients.

Please contact me at mandy@bodylogicmd.com at your earliest convenience - we strive to provide the highest level of service and ensure that each patient feels their best.

If your insurance pays for your MEDICAL CARE and PRESCRIPTIONS no woman should go broke to get proper BHRT if needed. It should be a standard of care and we should advocate for it.. We need to start writing letters to Medical boards, Health departments, to congress, the surgeon general ... . Bottom line: if you are a woman, a certain point in your life; you will face hormonal imbalance and you'll 'want to restore your body naturally...all Family Medical Practitioners should be trained in the use of BHRT

Well it isn't helping I feel worst that when I first started this, and I'm out over 1500.00 dollars.

BodyLogicMD Very bad choice of doctor

Dr. Julie Kissel is a good doctor. She is very knowledgeable and willingly shares her knowledge with her patients, with every good intention to help them balance their hormones. I just wish she had not chosen to affiliate herself with a practice (BodyLogic MD) that is clearly a scam. So while she's a good doctor, she doesn't appear to have good judgment when it comes to business practices. She's chosen to run her practice as a business, and she is doing it poorly.
BodyLogic is EXTREMELY expensive -- more than you would pay for a concierge doctor, without the concierge service. They recommend a compounding pharmacy in San Diego that charges $40 for generic synthroid, something that costs $5 at Costco. But because Dr Kissel recommended the pharmacy, I ordered from there, until I caught on. When I questioned her office about the costs, their response was that it's illegal to get kick backs from pharmaceuticals. But I'm sure it's not illegal to get kickbacks for hitting ordering benchmarks, and I thing it's possible that's what happens. That alone made me question Dr Kissel and her practice. And when I asked for my prescriptions, they told me they couldn't email them, but that I could pick them up. I am extremely busy -- and have paid Dr Kissel's office an obscene amount of money -- and I would expect a BUSINESS (which is what BodyLogic MD is, make no mistake) to offer to mail the prescriptions to me. But they did not. When I finally made it to their office to pick up the prescriptions (after emailing several times and asking for them to be mailed), the office was closed. When I called the next day to follow up AGAIN, the nurse was curt with me, saying she had seen my email request from the prior week, but that they were out of the office. (A BUSINESS will generally have an "out of office" email reply, of course, but these folks don't know how to run a business.) When I mentioned that I had stopped by, she told me they're generally not in the office on Wednesdays. (Again, a BUSINESS would have hours posted, or would have the courtesy to tell their high-paying customers what their office hours are.)

When it comes to running a business, Dr Kissel and her staff would be OUT of business, if they weren't backed by BodyLogic MD -- and charging obscene prices for their services. Each half-hour visit is $275 (Dr Kissel generally goes over the half-hour time because she wants to educate her patients), and Dr Kissel gave me so much information that I couldn't process all of it. The result was that I left with $275 less, and a whole bunch of hand-written notes I couldn't really read or follow, and certainly couldn't implement. (I work with the medical field for a career, so I don't come into this with no knowledge.) When I call or email the office, I don't get responses unless I follow up continually, as I had to do with my prescriptions. As of this writing, I still haven't received the prescriptions, although I've paid an outrageous amount of money for them.

To say I'm disappointed in Dr Kissel and BodyLogic MD would be an understatement. I would not, under any circumstance, recommend them. They are charlatans, in the sense that they swindle money away from patients who really need help. And they should be ashamed of themselves.

The place is a scam, no question. When I checked the price of the hormones at a local, non-SanDiego pharmacy the cost was 1/4th with free shipping to my home. So I switched and then Kissel stopped honoring the prescription (which she had written!) and insisted more office visits and labs (which it appears she gets paid on both somehow, volume maybe?). More interested in the bottom line than her patients. Back to my OB and stable medicine...too bad, hate to be on the wrong end of this deal but apparently I am not alone

I saw Kissel for over two years. I wasn't getting the benefit from the medications because she didn't have me on the correct dosage. If you're using bio-identical cream, you must change the site of application daily. She pushed hundreds of dollars of supplements which did nothing to improve my symptoms. I have all my paperwork, and my health and hormone balance is actually more imbalanced than it was before I saw here. She is a scam artist...stay away

i went to them for about 15 months and had doctor Shaw. He only saw patients on Tuesday, but no one told me that-until i was ready for appointment two. That was the first problem. Tuesdays were very bad for me.
Then he called in sick a few Tuesdays, (ok everyone gets sick) that was a problem.
I was on pellets and he was clearly a rookie at insertion, He always had an issue, made me very nervous. Incredible bruising. Once Dr. Kissel did the insertion and i had no issues with bruising.
The final straw was the medication they recommend. One day they called telling me to up my dosage of a certain medication i was not even on. Of course they rushed me some from the HIGH END LAD) and When i went to see Dr. Shaw he said i had increased the wrong medication, but never tried to see who called and got the meds wrong.
So I had had it. I have now found a much cheaper and very solid lab and Doc. to better handle my medication. I encourage everyone to look around.
Im very happy with the new group im working with. as far as the $275 meetings. It was probably the cheapest part. Meds were over the top price wise. I agree, Its a business no matter what. He also always went over time on the meetings. (just get to the point, i get it your a smart guy) and at the end i never really knew what they recommend.
They would often forget to send me the script for blood work then postpone it to the next quarter very dangerous) and never, ever. did i get a call back.
First they give me the pellets or meds, and then they try to sell you all kinds of HIGH END vitamins from there kick back pharmacy.
Be carefull people, do your home work, and ask around. Body logic is a big thumbs down...

BodyLogicMD Employee &Poser& of BodyLogicMD Plugging BodyLogicMD on Website

BEWARE: There is an "employee" ("Poser"/ imposter, etc.) of BodyLogicMD, who is using the website 'MenopauseManiac.com' to promote BLMD. According to this Complaint Board, 'she' is Barbara Smith, a.k.a. [protected]@bodylogicmd.com, as is the named from BLMD responding to various complaints here. 'She' touts to be a Business Development Mgr for BLMD. But accidentally, I noticed that 'she' actually signed her name on her MenopauseManiac website (instead of "menopause maniac") in response to one of the posts. She claims to be a person who just benefitted from being treated by BLMD docs. Yea, right! Anyway, it's so blatantly OBVIOUS she's using this site to plug and promote BLMD; she's all over the place plugging links to BLMD to folks. Sadly, some people may be falling for it! Beware; this is an "employee" possibly the owner of the company. Sham of a scam using hurting women and men going thru hormonal imbalances to make $$$! You're now exposed, "Barbara"!

BodyLogicMD Waste of Money

Reposting from another thread:
My wife and I were with BodylogicMD for 6 months, which equals two office visits, each. All I got out of it was HCG shots (used for weight loss, but I was already skinny) and supplements ($580/month), and all my wife got out of it was more belly fat. The doctor decided to add progesterone to get her estrogen:progresterone ratio in balance. Even a layman, like myself, knew that lowering her high estrogen levels would make more sense instead of raising the progesterone (all I have taken is Anatomy and Physiology classes). Well, she gained 20 lbs, and the doctor would not change her mind about the progesterone. My testosterone raised 8 points only, and the doctor wouldn't change anything. I never got the testosterone shots needed to raise my levels. I was sure the doctor would prescribe me the shots after the second set of blood was analyzed. Nope. She didn't want to change anything, even though I felt only a very mild increase in energy and sex drive.

So, I found something else. We both have been on the SottoPelle pellets for just over a month, and boy what a difference. HUGE difference, actually. Energy levels are back to teenager levels - positive attitude, even sex-drive (yah!). SottoPelle is significantly cheaper in everything from blood labs to the actual procedure. Now, my monthly average is cost is only $100, and $50 for my wife. With BodyLogicMD, our combined monthly expense was over $1000 (for mostly supplements!). Blood labs are a 10th of the cost too. It just burns me up how much we spent at BodyLogicMD, especially considering the results, and also because it was mainly SUPPLEMENTS. I feel it was a complete waste of time and money. Oh, and my wife has lost 10 lbs already since quitting BodyLogic - 1 month only.

I suspect the problems we had with BodyLogicMD had everything to do with our age. We are barely in our 40's. And the doctor mentioned that she had to prove to her peers that she tried everything else before prescribing me testosterone shots, she specifically mentioned my age being the reason. Well, this just means that it would take years to get the results I was hoping for. As for my wife, I don't know what the doctor was thinking. She actually chewed on my wife for taking the supplements with crackers. She actually blamed the 2 crackers a day for my wife's 20 lbs of belly fat - what an absolutely stupid suggestion. If we wanted to be berated/lectured, I sure as heck would be paying this much for it. So glad I tried something else before giving up entirely.

I would suggest anyone that is younger than 60, to try something other than BodyLogicMD. I'm sure the 60+ age groups will feel a significant difference with BodyLogicMD. But for the younger, or those wanting more bang for the buck, try something else, like SottoPelle. Anyways, that's my complaint and suggestion. Best of luck to you all.

This is a complete scam. They offered no actual medical advice - just tons of very costly supplements - even after I turned off auto replenish they would reset it so that they were trying to constantly bill me several hundreds of dollars for supplements that did nothing to help me. I finally had to send very nasty correspondence to get them to stop. Not worth any of the money I spent.

BodyLogicMD - Would not recommend!

I would NOT recommend the BodyLogicMD franchise doctor system. I really wish I had done more research on this organization and the way it works before I got myself into their system of over-priced proprietary lab testing, over-priced doctor visits, and proprietary pharmacy. This is definitely a money making system that is set up to continuously force the...

BodyLogicMD - unethical practice

I found Dr. Kaye online when I googled Adrenal Glands. I called Body LogicMD, Dr. Kaye's medical franchise in 9/11, and spoke with an office personal. Dr. Kaye’s next opening was 01/12.  I made an app. for 01/24/12.  Making an app. with Dr. K requires pre-paying $614, for blood lab work and a saliva test kit, regardless if ones appointment is 4 month...

BodyLogicMD Unsatisfactory Service

Everyone at this office were so nice, friendly and helpful... that is until I needed more info for insurance/FSA purposes. The Doctor, Dr. Rudy Madlang of Ogden, gave me an office visit receipt for me and my two daughters. I did not notice until later that he had put "Daughter #1" and "Daughter #2" instead of my daughter's names. Of course, insurance not FSA will not except that! I thought, no problem! All I have to do is call the office and get a new receipt. Boy, was I ever wrong. I have gotten no response from the doctor on this matter. I have e-mailed and phoned for the last three months! Really, how hard is it to type names where they should have been entered in the first place! This is going to cost me $1500 and I am not happy at all. Don't go to these doctors, all they want is your money. I wish I would have checked here before I went!

BodyLogicMD - Made Me Worse Almost killed me

I will make this very short. Please believe all those people that have written and filed complaints against Body-logic MD. I did not listen and they almost killed me. They gave me testosterone shots that thicken my blood and never once in a year took my blood pressure. My BP when I went to another doctor was 228/198.. I come close to a stroke. So listen to...
