Bob's Discount Furniture delivery of kitchen table

Ordered a kitchen table set on November 28, 2009. Was assured verbally that it would be in before Christmas. That didnt happen. I had a delivery date of 12/26/09 between 4:30-7:30pm. They called at 12:15pm and stated the delivery people are early and would be there in 45 mins if that was OK. I re-arranged my prior engagements as to be available for the delivery. I also broke down my other table in a hurry and stored in basement along with chairs. I called at 1:15pm (an hr later) and the women told me it would be there by 1:30. I called again at 1:50 and they told me they were in New Haven and would be there in 15 mins. I called again at 2:20 and they were in Wallingford which is opposite direction of where I live. I requested a refund on the $60.00 delivery charge and was denied. I canceled the order and Bobs missed out on $700.00 not that it would effect them. I would rather go pay much more with better customer service. The delivery company initiated the first call and wanted to adjust the time. I missed out on my engagements waiting for them and after my last call they still werent sure when they would be here. Their merchandise and prices are not that good that they can just treat their customers like you know what

I feel bad you had to go through all that. But I used to be a competitor of Bob's and that's what happens when you try to save a few bucks.

Bob's Discount Furniture quality and handling of repair

On 7/3/09 we purchased a reclining sofa and love seat for $999.99. It was delivered on 7/8/09 and by 9/29/09, that's right, 2 and 1/2 months later 3 of the 4 recliners were broken. In the process of closing the recliners the mechanism just bent. I called and it took 2 weeks for someone to come down to tell me that they need to order parts. The man told me it would take a couple of weeks to receive the parts. That the parts will be mailed to my address and then I would have to set up another appointment to have someone come down and repair it. After a month of waiting I called the customer care to find out that it will indeed take 16 WEEKS TO RECEIVE THE PARTS. I SHOULD EXPECT IT JANUARY 16TH, 2017...THEN I NEED TO CALL TO SET AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE REPAIR DONE. WE OWNED THE FURNITURE FOR ONLY 2 AND A 1/2 MONTHS BUT IT WILL TAKE 5 MONTHS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED...ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS...WE WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PIECE OF FURNITURE FROM ANY BOB STORE AGAIN...

Terrible Customer Service! I bought a dining room set and TV stand in late June. I was told the items would be available in late July, and that I would get a phone call notifying me when they were ready. It's now July 28 and I never got a call. I called today, got someone in the Worcester store, told her I wanted to check the status, and she immediately put me on hold. Imagine my surprise when someone from the Salem store answered. She was perfectly polite and looked up my order. My furniture is available for delivery. I ended up calling the Worcester store back to tell them how frustrated I was by the fact that I was not notified. They had no reply. They said normally they would call. The woman had no idea why I wasn't called, no idea how long my furniture had been available, and could do nothing to get me a quick delivery. I was counting on having my furniture on time and they let me down. I told her again that I felt this was very poor customer service, and that I would not be shopping in that store again. She did not seem to care, just said "Okay." Congratulations Bob's, you've lost me and everyone I know as customers. I hope your other locations actually care about the people they serve.

A better customer care service would be very appreciated by clients. I called Bob's customer care Goof proof for services, I got transferred to another representative sounds pretty young. She was very disrespectful and don't know her limits. I wondered why she comes to work if she does not like what she's doing, or what don't she goes to school for her dream work. Any Can Bob's supervisor staff do training for their Employees. I think with your kindness you will make people feel comfortable and make them come back. At least make the difference! Go to your website reviews and find out what's wrong and fix it.

If you want to buy quality furniture at a place with good customer service, then make sure you DO NOT buy from Bob's Discount Furniture. My wife and I bought a couch from "Bob" and after WAITING THREE MONTHS for the couch to be delivered to the store, the couch we got is very uncomfortable and not at all like the one we sat on in the show room. We scheduled a service call for them to come out and try to fix the couch. The only available time was two weeks away. After waiting two weeks for the service man, he showed up at a different time then we were told. My wife had called the night before to confirm the time (12:45pm - 2:45pm) and when I wasn't home they tried to tell me that the time had always been set at 10:17am - 12:30pm. The lady I spoke to was basically insinuating that I was making the other times up. So the next available service time is two weeks away. More waiting. I've bought other furniture there but this will be my last. Every time it has been something that has caused me anger.

Purchased two complete childrens bedroom sets plus additional computer desk and dresser in September2010 when delivered approx 60 days later night stands and mirrors minor damage desk was not useable due two large screw that pulled through leg when assembled. I was at work my wife refused the desk but the driver refused to take it back claiming it was not his job. Contacted customer service, after about 30 min on hold spoke with rep explained situation said they would replace desk. As of this writting they have sent a truck to the house on three seperate occassions with no rplacement on truck. I was promised replacement desk on 12/15/10, recieved delivery confirmation call on 12/13/10. On 12/14/10 recieved phone call that they couldn't make delivery due to damage noticed while placing desk on truck and it did not meet Bob's high standards. Bob's is full of S@#t and has no standards whatsoever. I would rather sit on a milk crate than purchase anything from Bob's Customer service hasn't a clue disorganized and deceptive.

If you are looking for furniture that stands the test of time and whose namesake backs up their product; stay far away from Bobs! Their customer service is not helpful, but they are polite. The CS at Bob's Corporate does not return phone messages (we left 7 over the span of a month). Their "Goof Proof" covers nothing, is a scam, and is a waste of money. The "Goof Proof" reps chalk up everything as "customer misuse" despite their product being garbage.

Here's the Bob's complaint list:

1 $1, 000 couch, 3 missed days of work due to claims visits to investigate 1" tears in places where we don't even sit (not on time by the way), 1 extremely rude claims representative that visits your house, 1 lying salesman (who produced a pen and stabbed the couch 50 times to show us that it would not rip or tear), 1 tear within 1 month of purchase, 5 tears within 6 months of purchase, 1 piece of wood which is poorly padded (just happens to be the place you lay your head) and 16 months of trying to get satisfaction from this company. Pointless. Spend the money, go to a reputable furniture store with reputable product and respectable customer service. Bob's merchandise isn't even worthy of a compost pile in my humble opinion.

I can't even begin to explain how many things are wrong with this company. First, they forgot to send over insurance papers I requested. Then, when they realized THEIR mistake, I was forced to wait another 3 days for the furniture. Or at least I was told 3 days - imagine my surprise when I call on day 3 to find that the delivery was never scheduled. So I had to wait another 3 days. Furniture was supposed to come in the morning - first more insurance issues (which were never fixed), then delivery was cancelled. I had to put them on the phone with their own third party delivery team to get them to reapprove the delivery. Then more delivery issues. The furniture didn't get there until 6:30PM that night, forcing me to miss an entire day of work to deal with these incompetent people. I have spoken to every manager at the New York City store and each is as incompetent and useless as the next. They have virtually no way of contacting their insurance team or their delivery team if issues come up. They are IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with (tip: dial the direct location, then press 1, no matter what your issue - it is the only way to get a human being on the phone.) Corporate is actually impossible to get in touch with - they just leave you on hold indefinitely. And now, post-delivery, I've been trying to get in touch with their managers to discuss the $100 delivery fee - I've been calling them daily for 2 weeks and no one ever calls me back. This company is NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.

Don't bother purchasing Bob's insurance. My kids drawers on their bed and on their dressers are all broke and when they came out to check, they said first they don't carry that set any long and second, if it was an accident, like the dresser fell or the drawers fell and broke, then they would cover them otherwise the insurance wont. Now tell me how can drawers break and fall if they are 2 inches from the floor. I asked her if I basically have to lie to get another set, and she said basically. I told her that it was not right to have to lie, when all the faces came off the drawer because it was held on by staples. Not worth the trouble.

I purchased a bedroom set about fifteen months ago. While I was recuperating from a severe abdominal surgery, I attempted to use the side of the headboard (mattress height) to offer myself assistance to get out of bed because the mattress I purchased from them as well, has acquired a settled slump where I sleep. The TOP of the headboard snapped and sent me sprawling onto my bedroom floor, my face and the four healing wounds on my stomach. I got a ride into the store and attempted to speak to a sales woman about the situation. She had no idea what to say to me besides call customer service, "we don't carry that set anymore" (hmmm... wonder why?) when I began asking questions about replacing it, the saleswoman answered that she didn't know..which is how the remainder of my questions were also answered. So I call customer service and explain that not only is the mattress defective but so is the headboard. To which the woman replied Oh, I'm SO sorry for the inconveinence over and over again. And then tells me that no, they don't carry it anymore and even if they DID? They can't do anything to help me because my year warranty has expired. I said, "youre kidding me right?" So you sell me a defective piece of furniture, which in all senses should last beyond a year, and youre okay with this? you obviously don't stand behind your merchandise. Customer service responds with "we don't make the furniture ma'am, we just sell it". I said, " I work in retail, my dear. We don't make our product either, but when it comes back and its defective? We satisfy our customer because we stand behind our product and we give a damn if they return to our stores...SO, lets set up the appt for someone coming to look at the mattress and then put me thru to someone above you" to which she actually HUFFED into the phone, put me on hold and for fifteen minutes, I sat there listening to repeated clicks of someone putting me on hold over and again. THIS is how I get rewarded for spending over two thousand dollars of my HARD EARNED money? I didn't sell anyone a bunch of junk to get my paycheck-- I sold quality merchandise to SATISFIED customers to pay for that bedroom set and never once in my eighteen years of retail management have I ever spoken the sentence, "we really can't do anything for you". thats the worst thing to say to someone who not only deals directly with hundreds of people per day, but, who clearly knows that word of mouth carries quite quickly when the news is negative and ten people will hear about one bad review before one single one hears a positive one.. especially in today's economy when the dollar is tight and people still need things from you. I will never return to that store, my family and friends will refrain from shopping there, and my response to that is "oh, I'm SO SORRY for the inconveinence " of reduced sales.

Total Horrible experience dealing with Bob's. Purchased Entertainment Wall Unit from Bob's for $1, 299. Installation upon delivery was incomplete and had a few defects in the tv console and glass front cabinet and missing pieces for shelving. Bob's "state of the art" delivery system is NOT only NOT state of the art, it is "state of incompetence". Service technicians showing up at times other than the 2 hrs window, at 8pm, 2hrs before scheduled delivery etc. The glass cabinet could not be repaired and had to be replaced 2 times (in addition to the original delivery) because of defects in the cabinet. There is NO Quality control at the manufacturing OR their warehouses. It took 6 wks from initial delivery (and 5 days off from work) until the final resolution. After a 5 page complaint letter directly to Bob himself, I was offered only a return of my $129 delivery fee and a $100 Bob's gift card (which I would never go to again, so it is essentially. worthless. Would never recommend this company.

Purchased bedroom furniture for my daughter along with the Guardsman Protection Plan in case anything went wrong with the furniture within the next 5 years. Low and behold 3 years later the dresser door came loose at the hinges and the area screwed into the wood is stripped. I filed a Guardsman claim only for it to be denied, doesnt cover manufacturer defects and was referred back to the store to file a warranty claim. Good luck with that! I called the store and was referred to their toll free # for customer service and tried 3 times to get through only to be on hold each time for over an hour waiting for a customer service representative to answer the phone. With no such luck I went back onto their website and submitted an email through the ask a question link which claims they will give you a call back within 24 hours. Funny I never got a call back. Called the store where I made the purchase at again and was told they cant help me there, Id have to call the toll free # or send an email both of which Ive already done without success. The rep at the store only offered to call the 800# for me but they have to stay on hold for the same amount of time OR email them to call me back both of which again Ive already done without success. So here I am stuck with a broken piece of furniture, a worthless Guardsman Protection Plan and lack of customer service in a timely manor. Bravo Bob's Discount Furniture ~ I will NEVER shop there again! Off to file my complaint with the BBB now & on our local news forum.

Bob's Discount Furniture bad experience

Nice and simple...we bought a video console from Bob's Furniture. Here's how our experience unfolded:

* Sept 1st 2009 - Video console we bought was delivered with damages.

* Oct 17th 2009 - Serviceman visited to repair the damage. Serviceman identified a replacement video console was needed.

* Oct 31st 2009 - A replacement arrived damaged. It was not accepted.

* Nov 7th 2009 - Another replacement arrived damaged. This even after Bob's Furniture told use they would inspect the replacement in their warehouse before it was shipped to us. It was not accepted.

* Nov 21st 2009 - Two months later we accepted a 30% refund on our original video console purchase price but we had to give up our manufacturers warranty claim in order to get this discount on our video console.

We will NEVER buy anything from Bob's Furniture again! Take notice.

Bob's Discount Furniture damaged video consle

Nice and simple...we bought a video console from Bob's Furniture. Here's how our experience unfolded:

I agree! Bobs did pulled the same crap with me, and they are so rude about it too. PLEASE DONT BUY FROM BOBS. THE STUFF BREAKS IN TIME! We spent 3, 000 and every single thing came back to us with scratches and damage. It took so long for them to replace the stuff. In fact, it took so long to replace, they didnt even have it in stock any more~

Bob's Discount Furniture innappropriate sales people

When I asked the sales people at our local Bob's store about complaints I've read here and heard from others locally, they asked me to leave the store, that they weren't going to get involved in a debate about the quality of their products. Here's a potential customer asking an honest question prior to spending a fair amount on furniture for a new home, and they ask me to leave. Why? Because they know everything here is true and I was jeopardizing the scams they were running on unsuspecting customers by daring to ask such questions in a voice that someone might overhear. Proof's in the puddin', nothing but junk. It was particularly funny because I sat on a reclining loveseat model that my wife was interested in about 10 minutes prior to this encounter and there was a loud pop from the metal frame underneath; I'm very much an average weight.

Bob's Discount Furniture terrible company

I purchased new furniture from bobs and I understand things get damaged but good old bob tried to get one by me.First my buffet had a huge piece of wood missing that I noticed and it was dummied up with a brown marker, then one of my wood chairs was discolored so I took a closer look another big piece of wood missing but this time good old bob filled it in with wood putty(not even the same color of the wood) if I haven't worked for a moving company years ago I wood have screwed.Again I realize things get damaged but this is just plain dishonest.

Their were other things wrong like my coffee table came with only two legs 4 to 6 week wait for the two my dining room table was cracked four of my other chars wobbled and the top of my hutch was not even on the truck.

Bob's Discount Furniture horrible sales, customer care, deliver staff

Hi Everyone,

This is the first time that I am using this forum and I am hoping that it will help people stop and think about buying furniture from Bob's Discount Furniture. My girlfriend and I spent over $3, 500 on a dining room set, living room set and bedroom set in one visit. The Sales Representative promised that everything would be delivered on our move-in date of Saturday, September 12, 2009. Since I'm creating this post, you can guess that we ran into a ton of problems.

First, the delivery team forgot to load a foot board which made it impossible for them to build the bed. We were then forced to sleep on the floor for 4 days because it was not convenient for them to deliver it sooner. One of the nightstands that we purchased, wasn't even on the order! Also, the dining room table was chipped and warped. Since it is now on back order, my girlfriend and I have to call them once a week to see the status of receiving a new table. Their Customer Care staff is smug, rude and intolerable. They will promise you a call back and you can be waiting for that phone call for over a year. Also the only compensation that they will offer for your troubles is a gift card to their store. DO NOT SHOP THERE PEOPLE! YOU WILL GET SCREWED!

Bob's Discount Furniture defective loveseat

I purchased a new leather couch and loveseat tables and lamps for my living room that we don't use.

The set has maybe been sat on 10 times since I bought it but when I came home from vacation in July I was cleaning the room and noticed that the loveseat was wearing and cracking.

I called the store and they sent a very nice man out who indeed said that is was defective and he could not fix it so he called the store. A very not nice woman got on and said that there was nothing they would do.

I told her that I am single with no children or pets and I do not use the room. So how could that happen and she said they were not responsible and she hung up on me.

I thought the store would do something but they did not.

I had problems when they delivered the furniture and had to wait five months for my lamp brakcets to come. It ended up that I had to go out and purchase some because I was having a family reunion and everytime I called about them customer service was very very rude.

I would never never but anything from Bob's again and I would not recommend them to anyone!

I bought a dresser a BOBS abotu a month ago had it delivered August 3rd refused the dresser tehback had stapeles comming out of it someone put a screw in teh back to hold it together and teh screw was not all the way in
I called and spoke with Matron he was in teh corporate office of Customer Service he was no dam good he would not give me teh name of the store manager and he siad he didn't have to if he didn't wnt to

I finially got a hold of the store spoke with a guy name Jimmy he wanted me to get anotehr one I told him no he gacve me the name of the Predsident Bob Kaufman I have been trying to reach him and no go yet I spoke with A women name Jessica supsoe to be Matrons Supervisore well she was just as bad as Matron I would of been better talking to teh wall

They are very rude arrogant people that wirk there and management is worse I wonder why they call it BOB'S DISCOUNT FURNITURE

The dresser I bought was $300 plus paid part cash adn Credit card and tehy didn;t want to give me money back from teh store I would ahve to wait 7-14 days to get my deposit back

THEY ARE ALL FULL OF ### as far as I am concerned Jessica also told me to call the Better Business Bureau if I was not happy with her comments

Bob's Discount Furniture repair

Bought sectional from Bobs first week of February... their delivery people broke them in several areas bringing them into my home. It is now the first week of August and they say they still have not received the parts needed to repair them ! ! Ridiculous.

The furniture from bob's is the worst
We spent 2000 dollars on a sofa and love seat that were supposedly genuine leader
A year later the furniture I pelling everywhere
It is embarrassing to have furniture like that and the sad part is that we payed hood money for it
The coffee table is coming apart
What a nightmare !

I PURCHASED A 5 PIECE BAR HEIGHT DININGROOM SET AND PURCHASED 2 EXTRA CHAIRS.I PURCHASED THEYRE 5 YR GOOF PROOF WARRANTY TO COVER ANY PROBLEMS AND FLAWS THAT WERE BEYONGD THE CONSUMERS CONTROL. WELL I PURCHASED MY TABLE TO EAT DINNER ON "OBVIOUSLY" IT'S A NICE DARK CHERRY IN COLOR. WELL MY FIRST MEAL TURNED EVERY SEATING AREA WHITE FROM HOT FOOD PLATES. I WAS UNABLE TO GET THIS OUT .IT JUST RUINED IT COMPLETLY.WELL I CALLED TO USE MY WARRANTY AND THEY DIDNT HAVE THAT TABLE ANYLONGER TO REPLACE MINE SO I WAS OFFERED $42.00 OR A $140.00 INSTORE CREDIT. MY 5 PIECES COST 600.00 2 EXTRA CHAIRS WERE 99.00 EACH. SO $800.00 IS WHAT IT COST ME. Bob's Discount Furniture worst quality

DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM BOB"S! I purchased bedroom furniture from them in August of 2007. I also purchased the goof proof which is a complete waste of time and even more of a headache. Within the first 2 months of owning the furniture all of the tracks had broken on the three dressers, I have a giant split in the wood of my nightstand and the backs of the chests are bowing, their response "it is passed warranty" I can not believe how this crap can be sold. If I knew where Bob lived I would use this crap furniture to start a bonfire on his front lawn. He should be ashamed of himself and this sham of a business. The customer service is pathetic and useless. You get what you pay for with this junk. I have an appt this Saturday for them to come take look at it, I already know they are not going to do anything and if they do it will be at my expense, well I have news for them, I will single handedly ruin Bob's little empire if they do not replace my furniture. I will stand by the front door of his showroom and I will show and tell their potential customers what they will be getting themselves into. I will be the last one laughing at the end if it kills me.

Bob's Discount Furniture horrible expierence

My boyfriend and I bought a house two months ago and purchased our Bobs furniture a month before we moved into the house. I spent close to $5000.00, a new bedroom set and my entire living room. The first delivery was fine and great no problems. Furniture came new and the crew was nice and did a good job. However our Media Center was on backorder for 2 months! Each time I called they told me next week next, that went on for the entire month of June. I finally got my media center last friday, but not before arguing with them of why they cant schedule the delievery when I'm home, they said because their computer schedules everything they have no control on the schedule, needless to say I have to have my boyfriends mother at my house at 730am and wait for the table to come. When I got home, the table was full of dust, the draw was broken, had scratches and a dent in it along with a heavy duty staple hanging out the bottom. So I called and demanded a new table, which was fine they said ok you'll have it next week. So that was solved.

Now my bed, after 3 weeks of having it the middle slat on the bottom snapped. I called for them to come replace it, so they came this past thursday. When the tech came he had the wrong piece and in front of my boyfriend tried jamming it into the mail side rail and then sawed off a piece of the middle slat to make it smaller to fit. On top of that put scratches and chips in the bed. Ok so the slat was fixed, but then two nights later the bed collapsed completely while sleeping in it on the side where the tech was working! I couldnt believe my bed on basically on the floor. So after calling and arguing with Customer Service after an hour they said they will send out a tech next week, next week?!?! We're sleeping on the floor! So I called back again and spoke to a supervisor he pushed up the Tech to Wednesday, but I mean come on I want a new bed, I dont want this one fixed, they obviously dont know how to fix it right, cause they just made it worse! So I had to threaten them with a Lawyer and the Better Business Bureau for them to put me through to the Corporate Office and the guy on the phone said I will have a new bed in my house by Thursday. I went through so much crap and so many headaches with their stupid customer service and stupid policies. When your furniture break because your tech didnt know what he was doing you give the customer what they want period! Especially when its only 2 months old and the customer spends $5000 in your store!

Bob's Discount Furniture mattress

In 2002 I purchased a mattress set from Bob’s Discount Furniture. In 2004 that same mattress set was deemed defective and Bob’s came to my home and replaced the mattress. Five years later in January of 2009 the second mattress was deemed defective by a technician and once again Bob’s issued a store credit and allowed me to pick out a new mattress. I visited the store and picked out what I was told was a quality mattress. This past weekend a technician was again dispatched to my home and Wade determined that the mattress placed in my home 6 months ago was also defective with a 2” depression.

In speaking to Bob’s customer service department on Saturday July 18th I was told the options available to me. They included issuing a store credit which would enable me to visit the store to pick out a new mattress set and coordinate a delivery time. I asked for Bob’s to come to my home to remove the mattress set and issue me a full refund; I was denied. The CSR, Marlene indicated that she was authorized to issue refunds only. When asked to speak to her manager, Candice, I was told the same. Marlene indicated that Candice was the top manager of the department and would not authorize a store refund.

Marlene went on further to say that the first mattress replaced in 2004 was not even inspected by technician. I rebutted with the directions I was given in 2004, to take a broom handle, lay across the bed so the depression was in the center of the handle, measure the depth of the depression and send in the results. This was done and the mattress was replaced. Marlene further detailed to me that the warrantee from the first mattress set was carried over the course of the past 7 years and applied to each subsequent replacement.

I did not speak to Candice directly as I was told by Marlene that Candice would not offer anything more nor a refund. Marlene did in act say she felt my frustration and request for a full refund. I simply do not want another Bob’s Discount Furniture mattress set delivered to this house. Within 7 years 3 mattress sets have been deemed defective. At some point, the time being now, this must end. It is now my understanding that I have 2 weeks to take advantage of the store credit offer. Two weeks and counting to resolve this matter with Bob’s.

I am frustrated beyond believe and facing the fact that I will be out of $699 for the mattress and $280 for the box spring. Given the set of circumstances, I feel Bob’s should do the right thing and refund the amount spent on the mattress and box spring. They have not achieved a level of respect as a retailer which provides superior or even great products. The third time was not the charm. Over the past 7 years too much of my time, personal and professional, has been given to Bob’s in trying to reach a mutual satisfactory resolution.

About a year and a half ago I purchased the bob o pedic and right away we had problems with it! it was sinking and uncomfortable.The bed i also purchased was crap too! the foot post came off as well as a piece on the headboard. I called customer service and no one would ever get back to me. i went into the store that i purchased my furniture and was told that the manager was not there and that she would call me the next day. no call. i went in again and met the manager. i was then told that someone from corp would call me...no call! so i decided to call bob himself at corp office. I left a message on his voicemail and within 3 hrs i got a return call from his secratary. she was very sweet i must say. she said it was very unlike the bob o pedic to do that so she sent a new one and had the bed fixed. then about 4 months later the bed started to sink again and was indented on one of the corners that the delivery guy said was just from the cold and would go away. now my bf and i weigh around 185 each so there is no reason for this to happen again. i called again and was told i could go pick out a diff mattress i did and this will now be my 3rd time of crappy bob beds! I cant remember the name of the mattress i got this last time but it not only is sinking to the point were the middle of the bed looks like a mountain but it is lumpy all over the bed. i feel like we havent had a good night sleep in a year. i even went out and got a down feather bed to try and help and it didnt it just made it all worse. Im not happy and am waiting for a returned call again. this time i just want my money back and will go some place else!

Bob's Discount Furniture desk delivered damaged

Have bunk beds purchased at Bob's a few years ago...went back to purchase matching desk, and did so immediately. Desk was delivered damaged, and a new desk was to be delivered the following week. No call, no desk! When I called, a new delivery date was set. On that date, I received a call, telling me VERY rudely that the desk had been discontinued and that my only option was to keep the damaged desk, or return it. I told them that undiscounted, the desk was not worth it (chipped corners, drawers that didn't slide...a floor model, I was told), and to please pick it up. They arrived within 10 minutes to retreive their desk. When I called customer service to inquire as to why I had not been informed that the desk had been "discontinued", I was dealt with in the most trivial and rude fashion. I sent an e-mail to their regional offices, and was told that they INDEED had desks, undamaged, in their warehouse facility, and I would receive a call the following day to get a new, undamaged one. Not only am I still waiting for this phone call (for about 2 months), I amstill being billed for a desk that I do not have!

Bob's Discount Furniture carpet beetles in couch

My kids bought a couch at Bob's Furniture. The first two came in damaged and finally the third couch was ok. In three months the living room was infested with carpet beetles. The exterminator said that they were definitely in the couch as when he went to kill them they crawled back into the couch. Bob's will NOT stand by their furniture. However someone told me that a place where she worked had a Bob's couch dellived also and it was filled with bugs. They did take it back. They will not give us back our money. We had to throw away 2 carpets, bomb the apartment, bring all the clothes to the dry cleaner and stay in a hotel for two nights until it was safe to go back.

Wow, thats awfull. They should at least give you a refund, could you have the exterminator write a letter for you stating it was the couch? Did you keep all of your receipts, including hotel, bug bombs, exterminator, dry cleaners, and the charge for the couch, if so and you could get the exterminater to write the letter for you, it sounds like you have a real good law suite on your hand and you have a great chance to win, plus get the court cost back, if you have all of the for mentioned "ducks in a row"
what are carpet beatles, are they all over in the usa or just certin parts?

Bob's Discount Furniture Overcharged for Products Purchased

I recently made a large purchase at the new Bob's discount store in Yonkers, New York. My purchase included a dining room set, a living room set (with tables), and a bedroom set. The total for my purchase was $4400. At the time of the purchase I thought it sounded reasonable because it was so a large purchase and I also trusted that they were giving me a good deal as promised on their television commercials. However, after reviewing the purchase at home and comparing the prices listed on the Bob's Furniture website I realized that I had been severly overcharged by the people at the store. It seems that the sale person had charged all of the items as individually rather than charging them as packages. The actual cost of my purchase was $3700. That is $700 less. If you are buying anything at a Bob's Discount Furniture make sure you are getting the discount by reviewing your bill very carefully.

The advertising here is very deceptive as well as their sales associates.
It's a very commission driven work place, so the refund/exchange policy
is left out. When I looked at the written language of the policy, it
was also very unclear and I felt that it was purposely left to interpretation.

Regardless if an individual had the policies explained/interpreted properly, the customer service representatives and the sales associates were awful. The once kind and "helpful" sales associate wiped her hands clean from the unsatisfied product I received. The customer representatives were not very informative and kept giving me different information ( One said I had 5 days to exchange, another
said it was 3 months). I would not buy from this place because of it's dishonest nature and lack of transparency.

A scheduled delivery was removed from assigned delivery date without notification to me. I had specifically explained to the representative of the store that sold me the item that I would be away on business and to call my cell phone which I gave to her. Somewhere along the line these instructions were not followed. When I called on the day of delivery to inquire the approx time, I was then informed the delivery had been withdrawn. I explained that I had taken that day from work for delivery of the item. The manager was apologetic but said nothing could be done. I asked if there was a possibility of picking the item up from the store but she responded there was not. I cancelled the order and she responded that the initial deposit would be refunded.

bob's furniture store is a joke they like to sell you anything and everything but when something is wrong will they fix it NO they have the worst customer service and the people that you have to deal with are nasty
the only thing they know is sorry but you still get no results they are the worst furniture store I have ever done business with and will never buy any thing there again and don't buy the worthless goof proof plan it's about as worthless as the paper it's written on. after a year the furniture tore they were not interested in doing anything terrible terrible store If I knew all the complaints they had I never would have bought anything in the store

Never buy anything from bob's furniture in n.j secaucus we bought a sofa in the pit section and the loveseat and chair through bob's department store and that particular furniture has been discontinued problem #1.

problem #2 after purchursing the pit sofa we schedule for pick up for everything yesterday jan 31st. we went to pick up after 6:oo and guess what happened it was being restocked cause we waited too long. what! the f@#@#$$ happen we bought that sofa how can they restock hello...i thought i lost my mind. i cancelled everything. got a refund.

Bob's Discount Furniture crap for furniture

This company should be shut down...the products are made of balsa wood...While I was shopping there (wife's idea), I walked by a bedroom piece of furniture and the whole top part just fell off.. ALL the salesmen just scattered and went out of sight...If I could picket the place I would just so other unaware customers would not be suckered...Everything that was bought there from our freinds was returned at some point...Discount my A_ _ ! If I didn't have a new 59" TV that I love, there would be holes in the screen from each time his commercial came on... Bob belongs in the same room as that "Maze" guy that sells cleaning products...with the key thrown away...

Bob's Discount Furniture unassembled furniture rip off

I purchased an electric fireplace media center. It was not cheap! We paid $600 for it, and it is a lovely looking piece of furniture. The salesman told us we would have to install the firebox into the mantel. He said this 2 to 3 times, so we would not expect a fully assembled fireplace.

However, our good salesman neglected to say the mantel would not be assembled.

So, after waiting 3 weeks (the store carries no stock except for damaged goods in their 'pit.') for it to be shipped from their main warehouse, we went to pick up the item and much to our chagrin, the warehouse person drops 2 boxes into the pickup truck. I asked where the mantel was. He kicked one of the boxes and grunted 'here.'

I went inside. I was told that this was a 'flat pack' purchase. I calmly stated that I expected to put a firebox into an assembled mantel. No, no, no, that was wrong, I was rather rudely informed.

When I began to explain what I understood the purchase to be, the young lady became rather indignant stating that I had to take it as it is.

So...I took the pieces in the boxes, because I wanted this fireplace.

However, next time I want to purchase 'flat pack' furniture, I will NOT spend $600, and I'm sure my 'flat pack' furniture purchase will be made at IKEA or Christmas Tree Shop.

It took me about 4 hours to assemble this (with assistance holding parts). I do not believe it was meant for the average consumer to put together.

Bob's is a rip-off. The minute they get your money, they treat you very different.

I would not recommend this store to anyone.

Bob's Discount Furniture broken sofa

Bought a sofa from Bob's Discount Furniture. The frame broke within 2 years. called Gardsman only to be told a claim could not be filed over the phone, they had to send me forms. I filled out the forms and sent them back only to be denied because "claim was not filed within 5 days of mishap.Got no where with either Bob's or Guardsman. Try calling for service and you get put in a loop on the phone. Try to contact corporate office, you are put back into the same loop try the internet NO WAY how doyou contact Bob for service or even to have him make good his promises in his TV ad's. Bob won best retailer for 2008. Look out if this is as good as it gets.
