Bob's Discount Furniture after delivery drivers left trash in street

What gives Bob's drivers the right to think that they can leave their trash from a delivery in the Street...Bob needs to teach his people about respect. On Sept 4 they made a delivery and unboxed it in the Street...First they had the Street blocked by the empty box and this caused drivers to come to a stop and work there way around the empty box. After the delivery the removed the box but left the bands and the white foam in the road and drove away...This was left on the Street some 4 feet away from 3 trash cans...Bob...if your going to come into my neighborhood you had better show some respect.

Bob's Discount Furniture terrible service/poor quality

I had a bedroom set delivered for my daughter, although we did not pay alot, we did not expect great quality but something decent until she is older, then we'd buy a quality- long term furniture. Well boy did we make a mistake in buying from Bob's. We had to have the original set returned because of crack, nicks and blemishes. The second set was slighltly better with the exception of a dresser, and the third dresser was cracked after we were told the manager will inspect this before it is sent out. What a disappointment- the first time they offered a $50 store credit- what a joke. Never again!

bought a couch fell apart and the stupid goof proof will not fix it. now i have a $1000 pile of crap not even a year old I will never buy from them again go to hell bob

Bob's Discount Furniture bedroom sets

We had bought 2 complete bedroom sets and also purchased the goof proof warranty, the furniture has fallen apart and they want the original paperwork from when we first purchased these bedroom sets or they will do nothing. Buyer beware.

so.. where is your original paperwork ? why don't you call the store and acquire an extra copy?

when you go to return merchandise that's damaged, don't you need a sales receipt, in any store, as proof of purchase? what makes this store any different?

heard it all before. stop complaining about dumb stuff like this.

Bob's Discount Furniture stay away

I purchased a living room (leather sectional) set from Bob's Discount Furniture in their Nanuet, New York location about three (3) months ago. At the time of purchase I paid $2, 000.00 plus additional monies for their goof proof warranty/guarantee policy. I recently noticed that on a section of the sofa a huge stain has developed on the leather. I called customer service which was not very helpful with my complaint in the beginning, and with persistence they finally agreed to send a repair person to evaluate the condition of the sofa. I was shocked and dismayed when the repair person told me that my couch will not be replaced or repaired, even with the goof proof warranty/guarantee because the stain my couch has is not covered, because according to him "the stain is due to my hair products". I asked him "hair products", he answered yes "hair products, shampoo, conditioner and hair sprays; this may have caused the stain and therefore Bob's is not liable". In the years of using the same shampoo and conditioner I have never and I quote never have gotten stains not even on my pillows due to my "hair products". I immediately called the store and after much persuasion they agreed to send another repair person to evaluate my sofa set again in two (2) weeks. I feel like I was duped out of my hard earned money by Bob's Discount Furniture. I felt confident in my purchase, but after my recent encounters and problems with my new furniture that is only about three (3) months old, I am very disappointed and angered. I have researched this company and have read hundreds of complaints like mines and also with the same issue of the goof proof warranty/guarantee that they never honor. Customer Service is uncooperative; the home reps they send are aloof, just as uncooperative and not helpful. This company should be stopped for their false advertising, false warranty/guarantee and repeatedly ripping off hard working consumers.

Any company that has to advertise and have a stupid commercial ever 30 minutes tells you something...don't think Warren Buffet would look at buying them.

You get what you pay for, he pays his employees peanuts so you end up with Monkeys.

Bob's Discount Furniture never again

I purchased living a sections living room set from BOBS from bobs and they delivered the incorrect pieces, not once but 3 times, then the pieces didn't match at the end, I was told I would have to call customer service and have a repair man come out and adjust the furniture so the sectional would connect - match up (this would take a 4th visit.

Oh yes, I call customer service and told them to take the whole sections out of my house. I was so unhappy with Bobs. I would never buy anything from them after being on hold and then being transferred from one person to another to another. Very unhappy customer.

I made a purchase on June 9th, 2009 of 8 chairs, one table and one server at the Stoughton, MA Bob's Discount Furniture. I took the day off for the items to be delivered on the 19th of june. The server was damaged, the chairs had scuff marks & the table had gouges on it. the drivers called Jaime (male) about it. Jaime "scheduled delivery" of another server for the following friday, the 26th & a gentleman to fix the marks on the furniture on the 24th. the gentleman fixed the scuff marks on the chairs but was unable to fix the gouges on the table, he stated the marks came from the manufactorer. i took the 26th off in anticipation of delivery of the server. By Thursday afternoon on the 25th I did not receive a phone call regarding the delivery of the server so I called. I was informed by Sasha in customer service that the delivery was cancelled for no apparent reason. I then spoke to Ashley in customer care (yes, they are two different departments), informed her that I have a damaged table and no server. She inturn said there would be a server and a table delivered on July 3rd (yes another friday I must take off). This morning, the delivery men arrive with the server & no table. I told them to take the server back & all the furniture I already have (the table & chairs) because I do not want to give up a 4th friday for Bob's Discount Furniture because it clearly is not worth it at this time. After spending much time on the phone with customer care & customer service, I was informed by Suzanne Atkins from the corporate office in CT, this would be taken care of. @120 pm, I was called by Tammy, the furniture would be picked up today & she apologized because she could not give me a time frame. That was fine with me because this would be mine last friday spent with Bob's. Can you believe that @326pm, Robin from "team support" out of Kentucky called to say they could not pick up the furniture till next fridat (July 10th). Are you friggin kidding me! Bob's Discount Furniture their furniture is definitely the worst quality I have ever seen!

Their furniture is definitely the WORST QUALITY I have ever seen! I was going to buy somewhere else, until everyone kept talking me into going to Bob's (Brookfield, CT) The color sectional I wanted (or rather settled for) wasn't in stock - so I had to wait almost 3 months before it was finally delivered - but that's not even half of it.

I have never seen such POOR QUALITY/ WORKMANSHIP in my life! I don't see how they can advertise that they beat the competition . . . who might that be? Salvation Army is the only place I can think of that would have anything to compare!

The fabric is so THIN, you can actually see the frame behind it, and then it's loose on top of it - waiting to see how long it'll take to rip open.

The sectional pieces DON'T MATCH UP & HAVE GAPPING HOLES BETWEEN THE SECTIONS, that is, if they're even the same size.

The seat cushions have SUBSTANDARD FOAM that has PERMANENTLY BOTTOMED OUT only after a few months use & they are only covered w/ FABRIC ON ONLY ONE SIDE - the other side has some CHEAP BLACK LINING fabric (that they actually use on the bottom of the couch to cover the frame) - so you CAN'T EVEN FLIP THE CUSHIONS for even wear.

The back pillows are also CHEAPLY MADE/ LOOKING with zippers that don't sit flush & stab you every time you sit down. The interior filling isn't enclosed in a liner, so it's not exactly feasible to wash them if need be - or you just have a big pile of stuffing all over the room.

The PULL OUT BED is enough to cause SERIOUS PHYSICAL HARM should you roll over the wrong way, with a VERY SHARP METAL FRAME THAT STICKS UP HIGHER THAN THE MATTRESS OR COUCH, with a HUGE SPACE on the side next to the couch AND head of mattress - so if you have kids, I could easily see them GETTING A LEG CAUGHT/ BREAKING if not seriously careful moving around it.

Never noticed the PLASTIC LEGS on it until it got here either.

And the WORKMANSHIP upholstering it in general is the absolutely shabbiest job I've ever seen - have to make sure it's against the wall so no one can see the STAPLES & HOW POORLY THE CHEAP FABRIC IS LINED UP *SORT OF*, never mind where it's NOT EVEN FASTENED ALL THE WAY AROUND. WATCH OUT FOR THOSE STAPLES STICKING OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE TOO - they're definitely SHARP!

A couple of grand for the BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK I'VE EVER SEEN!

this was the second & last time we purchase from Bob's discount Furniture. The quality of furniture is BAD and the customer service is worse! with our last purchase of a Lift Chair, They delivered earlier than the 3 hour window they give you; of course we weren't home, so they guilted the grounds maintenance worker into opening our apartment (or we would have to pay AGAIN for delivery). NOT COOL
When I called to complain or maybe speak with Bob about my concerns I was blown off.
We have now owned this chair for a couple of months and we are scheduled for yet another maintenance.

Of course you would say that. If and when customers don't get what they want, when they want, they ALL behave like King Baby! The same can and would be said for any other store.
Grow up.. You get what you paid for! How good of a quality were you expecting for a living room costing $899? I am sorry you had an inconvenience and I do not work for this company, but try and see it this way. Even if you paid alot, you might still have a problem. The question is: did they do everything to resolve it? If so, cut them a break..Good Luck

Bob's Discount Furniture no refund

I purchased a sofa, two end tables and a coffee table from BOB'S DISCOUNT FURNITURE for $1000.00. The order was never delivered and I canceled the order on the the same day. A "BOB" Representative told me I would get a refund in about a week. One month later, I still never received a refund.

wait... you bought it.. waited for it to be delivered and canceled it on the same day? i wish you had said more that had happend... or went into it with a little more detail or SOMETHING.. i am planning to buy a sectional and dining set from them on saturday... and its at the SAME store... hehh.. so more info would have been helpful :P

Bob's Discount Furniture it is cheap

I purchased a full 6-piece bedroom set, a few days after the delivery I noticed the back panels were tacked on and beginning to pop off and warp. The drawers were also warping, and the paint discolouring. It has since worsened and is becoming increasingly unsteady. When I went into the store to complain, the sales clerks tried to sell me more furniture, and blew off the complaints. Customer service asked if I bought the warranty (which I did not, I questioned their quality...) after much debate--Surprise, surprise their was nothing they could do! Do Not Buy from Bob's... It is "CHEAP".

I completely agree Bob's Furniture is the biggest rip off. They promise and never come true. Or they deliver and tell their delivery guys to fix what ever damages they see with a marker or materials given to delivery guys so the customer does not notice the damages. In addition they try to convince you to keep one or two pieces of the furniture until the missing piece arrives and if between now and than you decide to return it you will be charged 10% out of the money you paid them. Meaning you will be penalized and not given the full 100% refund. It happened to my cousin. But when you ask customer service they tell you this is not true.

Word to the wise keep away from this store and tell everyone you know they are not what they preach.

Bob's Discount Furniture abused and disrespected customer

After not one, two or three adventures with this ### company I have once again fell for the cheap Asian oak furniture that is either damaged or doesn't come in when the salespeople "promise" then after literally dozens of useless phones with uneducated inept personnel at the local store and central customer "Disservice" department your frustration level goes beyond any experience.

This one is hard to explain they keep calling me telling me that the TV entertainment unit is in and ready for delivery and then email or call a day later and apologize that a piece is damaged and they’re out of stock after getting all my money.

This has repeated 6 times within the last two weeks and both customer service and mgmt are useless and offer only pathetically weak I'm sorry's. Avoid this amateur, sloppy, low end weasel company at all costs the perceived savings are a menagerie. Stay as far away as you can or get abused.

bobs furniture is [censor] and they use contractors to inspect your furniture that are [censor] too. they are selling garbage and when it breaks they give you the run around.

Bob's Discount Furniture horrible service

I ordered 2 bar stools and was told I could pick them up the following Saturday. On thursday I was called an told they "didn't make the truck", but not to worry that they could instead deliver them to my house on Saturday free of charge. Great. Two hours later I get a call saying they can't deliver them on Saturday after all, but they can deliver them during the week 7-5. Well, I work and don;t want to take off work to wait for a delivery (the whole reason I arranged to pick them up in the first place). They can only deliver them to my house. Not to my work. Not to there store where I could then go pick them up after work. They admit this makes no sense, but this is how they do things. Worst customer service staff I have ever encountered. Takes forever to speak to a human then its always the wrong human. I will never do business with them again and will tell everyone I know to avoid them as well.

Bob's Discount Furniture what a headache

A friend and I went to Bob's for our living room furniture. We purchased a sofa and loveseat, a recliner, a coffee table and two side tables on May 18th. We were told that everything would be ready within a week or so, but we'd definitely have our things before June 10 (because we chose a different colour for the recliner, it was "special order"). June 10 came and went, we called numerous times over a couple of days, and finally got a delivery date for the tables and recliner. (Apparently, our couches were going to take just a couple more days.) We weren't home to receive the delivery, and when we got there, discovered that the deliverymen had damaged the coffee table. I called Bob's, and they said they'd bring us a new table along with the couches, which would be ready, we were told, by the end of the week. That deadline passed, we called and called, got no answer other than "any day now", and finally we drove back to the store on 6/16, nearly a month after the purchase date. At the store, we are informed that the couches we purchased had been discontinued and that someone else had already bought the floor model. But we were welcome to take an altered model of the couches in flaming red (rather than sage green). No one had bothered to tell us all this time, when we asked over and over again about the couches, that we would NEVER be getting our furniture. We had to pick out a brand new set, and when we asked for a small discount, were flatly refused. But I accepted. I just wanted some furniture in my new apartment! I reminded the employee that Bob's needed to deliver my new coffee table with the new couches, as they had promised. They delivered the sofas today, and guess what, no table! We've called, flipped out, and finally gotten them to give us some kind of compensation (they haven't worked out what it will be yet, but I don't have much hope). Too much work and worry. We thought if we followed up on everything, we'd be fine. Clearly, following up with these employees gets you nowhere!

My husband and I went to bob's 4 years ago to buy their BOB O PEDIC bed. While we were in the show room looking around there was a man in there who was yelling about what a rip-off the store was and the products were substandard. (this should have been our first clue of what we were getting into.) We bought the bed and had it delivered, It was as hard as a rock and one of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. I called the store back and they told us that the bed needed time to "break in". we gave it another 3 months and nothing changed, so we called the store back and told them I wanted another bed. So we I took the day off of work and we made the 3 hour trip back to the store to pick out another mattress. we exchanged the BOB O PEDIC for the top of the line pillow top king they carried. For about six months it was great, but then it started to sag, (we rotated it every month) and by the end of the year I could feel the springs. I called the store again and they said they would send someone out to look at it. The man that came did some measurements with a stick and some string and said the mattress had a 2" sag and was defective. I called the store and they told us we could come down to pick out another mattress because this one could not be replaced, it had been discontinued. (I wonder why?) SO, we made the trip to the store again. they told us we could pick out any mattress that was in the same price range as the one we had before, but because the price of their "top of the line" had gone up from the year before, we would have to pay extra to replace it. so we paid the extra money and got the best on the floor. the same thing happened with with this one, sagging within six months and springs poking through within a year. so again, they sent some one out with his stick and string, only to tell us the mattress was defective. made the trip again, and again the replacement was discontinued, but we chose not to pay the extra money. just an even trade dollar for dollar. well guess what? last week made the one year for this mattress and we had them send someone out AGAIN. Now here is the best part. the man they sent did not bring anything with him, no stick, no string. The man asked my husband if he could use our broom to use as a stick, so my husband left the room to get it, then again for some string. When my husband came back to the room the man told my husband that there was a problem, he had found a few SPOTS on the mattress and it could not be replaced. my husband was just a little upset about this and told the man that the mattress had always had a protector on it and was in PERFECT condition before he had left the room. (except for the defects) the man told him that our cat had just jumped on the bed and that is where the stain must have come from. At this point my husband was really mad and went over to look at the stain. It was three little spots of chocolate. He knew at that point that the man was pulling a scam and told the man that our cat did not eat candy and we had no chocolate in the house. The man knew at that point he was not going to get away with his scam ( he might have gotten a clue by the way my husband was yelling at him) and proceeded to wipe the spots off the bed. The man very quickly called Bobs and told them that he had inspected the bed and needed to be replaced because it was defective. I had walked in the door at that point and my husband told me of the events so I got on the phone and told the woman that I wanted a new bed, I was not going to pay any extra money for it and I was not going to take another day off of work to go down there. she told me that I needed to pick one out because that one had beed discontinued, and I told her that at this point I have spent almost $3000 in replacement cost and lost time from work for this junk. just sent me another one of your defective beds and I will spend my time getting information on what I can do about this problem from my lawyer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS A RIP OFF.

Bob's Discount Furniture I don't recommend this store to anyone

Had the WORST experience with Bobs Furniture, and would not recommend it to anyone. Anyone.

I purchased a sofa and loveseat Mid February, it was to be delivered that Friday.

Week 1, it was never loaded onto the truck

Week 2, cancelled due to weather

Week 3, delivered, loveseat has a manufacturers defect in it.

Week 4, new loveseat delivered to be swapped with defect, new loveseat comes with same defect

Week 5, AGAIN, deliver new loveseat with same defect.

After so many calls to customer service, I was told there was nothing else they could do for me. I was told I could keep the loveseat or swap for a new set. I had NO intention of purchasing anything else from there, and basically just surrendered. I received a $75 gift certificate in the mail 3 weeks later for «my trouble". I would not recommend this store to anyone!

I just ordered a chaise and couch from bobs. I really wanted same week delivery. They promised 10 days I would get it delivered. The day before they were to deliver they called and said 2 more weeks! I'm so pissed, I would have gone somewhere else if I knew I would be waiting over a month. They are paying us back the delivery fee. 109$ and giving us a 100$ gift cert for the store. If they can't make the next delivery I will go postal on them...

I have recently been having problems with a purchase from Bobs. I purchased a bakers rack to complete my set that I have purchased from Bobs over the past few years, 7 pieces total. In my most recent purchase I opened the box to my bakers rack upon arriving home to find no instructions included on how to properly assemble this furniture. Upon 5 phone calls and 2 hours of my time Saturday morning, I am still without instructions and the pieces of my bakers rack are tucked in the corner of my apartment waiting for the instructions to arrive, so I can properly assembly it. I was told to wait and call back on Monday morning when the vendor was open to get instructions mailed to me. I was then told to come to the store and view how the piece on the showroom floor was assembled and try to assemble it on my own. I find this frustrating, as the instructions should have been included in the box with the bakers rack. There are many furniture shops in Nashua, NH to shop in, but I have brought my business to Bobs but after this experience I have to question where I will make my future purchase.

I am back. Just found out that the company didn't even send out the screws for my son's bed until today. Why would you tell a customer that you are going to send out the part that day(April 24th) when you didn't even do it until now (April 29th)? Also, the lady from customer service couldn't even track the package as to when we will receive it. How hard is it to tell a customer whether it is Next day, 2nd day, etc.?

I totally agree with the customer. Me and my boyfriend bought a bed for my son on April 21, 2008. Delivery was for Thursday the 24th. They came with the bed but a set of screws was missing from the box to put the bed together. The parts are all over my sons room. He can't even play in his room. The drivers called the company and they said they will have the screws shipped out. My boyfriend called all weekend to track the screws and customer service seems to not know when they will arrive. We figured they would send them out next day. I guess they are to cheap to do that! It is now April 29th and still no screws. My son has been sleeping on an air mattress since Wednesday the 23rd. Once this bed is put together (hopefully with no more problems), we will not be buying anything from them again.

Hello,

I purchased a couch and chaise lounge from Bobs in May at their Totowa, NJ store,and it was delivered on June 6. The cushions are sagging and the material is loose to the extent that there are deep creases in the material. It looks more like three years old then three months old. I called customer service today and I was told a technician is coming out on Sept. 15 to look at it and make an assessment. I was given a three month "free ride" with the payment of the merchandise and now I have to pay in full to avoid finance charges. I don't know what to do. If I pay, I am stuck with the merchandise. If I don't pay, I will owe finance charges which I do not want to pay. His merchandise is definitely inferior yet he clearly states on the little invoice portfolio that he gives to you that is merchandise is of high quality with discount prices, etc. Has anyone had a similar problem? If the technician agrees with me, will I get any restitution?

We purchased a queen firm mattress from your El Cajon store 5/31/21. Delivery was made on 7/10/2021. This mattress is not offering support. We were forced to purchase another mattress.

Two sets of bedrooms and a sofa had bedbugs. I bought them so I can move in clean slate. Three months later they started eating my family's body. We ended up having allergies. Some other people had the same issues.

I bought stuff from Bobs. And it was great have had for years no problems. Still looks brand new. I also want to add they use vendors the same company that inventories ray our and Flanagan puts some products in Bob stores so the quality is good

Just like the saying goes" YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" I really do not bargain shop but I couldnt find the color I wanted until I went to Bobs got the $799. special package...worthless...the set is 6 months old I live alone the couch looks like a family of 4 over weight live there. ITS NOT A BARGAIN...I will be searching very soon for a new Living room set..DO NOT SHOP THERE PAY THE EXTRA BUCK AND SAVE IN THE LONG RUN

Bob's IS cheap/mid-grade stuff. If you go in there expecting ethan allen quality, you're going to be disappointed.

That said, I have purchased my dining room set, my livingroom set, and a matress set from bobs and never had any issues. It's not the best stuff out there, but it works well for my 'bachelor pad'.

Thank you for your honest complaints. I was at Bob's last month to see what I was going to buy. And this week we were going to purchase a sofa set. Not now. I guess I will pay more for a better quality sofa set. Thank again...a family in desperate need of a good sofa set, and doesn't need any headachs.

I purchased a sofa and oversized chair/ottoman in June,07 as well. After have the set for one month, I had to have a technician come out and re-stuff both pieces. My furniture also looks like I've had it for years; I wouldn't recommend Bob's if it were the only furniture store around. It is extremely cheaply made and customer service is horrendous. I am very disappointed in my purchase.
