BlueMountain.com fraudulent charges!

Recently I found out that someone was fraudulently charging my card!
When I contacted my bank and explained the situation they starter investigating who the scammer was and fount out that these charges were made by BlueMountain.
I never ever heard anything about this company and never used them and I have no idea where did they get my credit card details!
When I contacted BlueMountain to see what was going on they said that I signed up and that it was not their fault. Total scam!
Already blocked these guys. But I still can't get how they were able to take my money.

BlueMountain.com free trial period (not likely to be free)

Seven day free trial period is impossible to keep from being billed on credit card. Many other complaints like this. Company is currently owned by American Greeting Cards, a company taken private in 2013. In 2013 they published: AMERICAN GREETINGS CORPORATION CODE OF BUSINESS CONDUCT AND ETHICS - November 1, 2013

From Page 6: REPORTING VIOLATIONS OR CONCERNS

The reporting of any violations of law or this Code is the responsibility of every Associate. Any time an Associate has any knowledge of a violation, the Associate has an affirmative duty either to 1) report such knowledge through the Company’s normal reporting procedures; or 2) report it by calling the We Care Hotline at [protected] (only for callers within the United States) or through the compliance website at https://amgreetings.alertline.com/gcs/welcome; or 3) after reasonably concluding that exhausting such procedures is not feasible under the circumstances, to report it to the Company’s Compliance Officer (the Chief Financial Officer) or the Company’s Legal Department. The hotline and compliance website are operated by an independent service provider 24-hours a day.

I signed up for a free trial and canceled within the alloted time and was billed $9.99 and the end of the free trial period. I have been unable to talk to anyone and the email responses are canned responses and are no help to anyone.

This company charged my credit card without my authorization. When it was discovered it was virtually impossible to contact a person in time to cancel the membership. As a result my card was billed and no credit was offered. despite protests of their fraudlent unethical business practices. Steer clear of these folks!

I have tried repeatedly to cancel my subscription, only to be sidetracked by the automated phone service. Subscribers should be able to click on a link to unsubscribe. I hate to think you have set this up to prevent people from unsubscribing so you can continue to bill their account, but it does seem that way.

BlueMountain.com unauthorized charge

I wanted to send a "talking" birthday card online to my 81 year old mother since her birthday had snuck up on me and was all I could offer her in a timely manner. The ONLY price I ever saw while on bluemountain.com was for $3.99 (which was for a month's subscription.) I went ahead and provided my bank account info. I was informed that I had a week to cancel. The week went by and I did not cancel because I thought $3.99 wasn't that much to pay. After that free trial week, I received a "welcome" message from bluemountain.com. This welcome NEVER mentioned how much they charged my credit card, nor did they ever send me a receipt. Another week went by, in which time I happened to go online to check my bank statement-- that's when I saw that bluemountain had debited $19.99! I had a horrendous time getting through to the company via phone so I emailed them demanding that they credit my account immediately since I had no knowledge of this $19.99 "annual membership fee"-- adding that if I had known, I would NEVER have provided them any of my info. Bluemountain.com emailed me back stating that I had failed to cancel my membership in the week allotted, and referred to the Terms of Sale page... which was NEVER provided to me EVER! Finally, later, I spoke to a representative over the phone. I asked if they would compromise by crediting me $19.99 and charging me $3.99 for a month's subscription. After being put on hold for a while, the rep came back and said "they were unable to do that." I told her that response was BS and if I were her, I would NEVER work for a company that was ripping people off daily! Think about it: $20 x qty "ignorant" people each day = gain by deceit. Unfortunately, my bank could not help me. The only recourse I have is to complain on sites like this and/or my facebook.

BlueMountain.com continuous billing

I signed up to produce ONE card for my wife not be billed continuously for 3 months which I just discovered on my credit card. What an underhanded slimy company. Customer service will not refund the charges even though there has been no activity on the account. Run away from these people.

STILL ONE THING THAT IRRITATES ME IS THE COSTUME OF THE ANCHORS. THEIR DRESSING SENSE IS OUT OF THE WORLD ESPECIALLY THAT OF MEERA'S. I WOULD STICK TO A MINIMUM SKIN SHOW POLICY(IN SAREE) IN A PROGRAM LIKE COMEDY STARS VIEWED BY MILLIONS AROUND THE WORLD. I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT THE WARDROBES ARE FROM THE SPONSORS STILL THOSE WHO WEAR IT DEFINITELY CAN MAKE A CHOICE ON HOW TO WEAR IT.

BlueMountain.com continuous billing despite cancellation

I cancelled my trial membership in time and had the first wrong charge reversed, then was assured my account was cancelled. I have been billed 4.99 every month since. Bluemountain admits in an email that I cancelled in Feb 2012, but denies charging me even though my account is still active and the charges are easy to track. CS is useless and refuses to do anything concrete about it. You can never talk to anyone. There's only an automatic roboline which always hangs up on me because it never gets my name right and gives up. I don't know what more to do. Bluemountain is an outrageous scam -- surely something can be done against them. Did anyone have any success stopping these charges and getting a refund?

We are having same problem. Just found out we are being charged the $4/month even though we cancelled back in 2007. ! At least for the last year we have been charged this amount every month. Any ideas? I haven't even logged on to their site in years. Husband is calling them tomorrow, but am not expecting them to admit their mistake -- certainly not to make it right. :(

BlueMountain.com blue mountain cards subscription fraud scam alert

I signed up for the bluemountain.com ecard service, canceled my subscription within the trial period to avoid being charged, and was charged anyway. This is a complete scam. I wasn't able to remove my credit card, so I am having to dispute the charges and will probably have to get a new debit card to avoid future charges. Signing up for this was so not worth the trouble -- I strongly discourage anyone from using bluemountain.com.

Have updated my Blue Mountain membership - receive notification of various cards but each time I'm unable to bring up the card - merely get a blank empty page. In addition to that I'm reminded to pick up the sent card and again get nothing but an empty page. What can I do to correct this?

BlueMountain.com customer service sucks

Blue Mountain business practices are very sleazy. They offer "trial" memberships that convert to paid in 7 days without notifying you and are non-refundable. My husband signed up when he couldn't remember the password for our existing account. Now we have two accounts and blue mountain won't refund. Plus, they are absolutely imposssible to contact via phone and have an absolutely maddening phone tree. We've cancelled both memberships (no refunds, though) and won't use them again.

Totally agree... all of the above is true...and they are associated with American Greetings. That's who takes the call if you figure out the magical code on the phone tree. Then, guess what? ... oh, our system is down... can you call back in a few hours? ARGGGHHHHH! Blue Mountain Greeting cards sucks!

BlueMountain.com deceptive practices - unsubscribe option

While trying to send a card at Blue Mountain I was sent to a page that looked like a log-in page but was actually a sign up for a "free trial membership". When I tried to back out and send the card again I was sent back to that page. I sent the card and have been trying all afternoon to cancel the "free trial membership".

It is not easy to cancel through Blue Mountain- you can only cancel by phone and their phone service is deliberately bad.

In trying figure out how to cancel this "membership" I learned that there is a class action suit pending against Blue Mountain because of this practice.

If you go to http://classactionblog.mdpcelaw.com/
and then on that site look up Blue Mountain you can find information about it.

BlueMountain.com fraud

Three years ago my wife signed up for BlueMountain.com and used their service once. In the mean time she forgot about them until last month when I discovered what was going on and we decided to cancel her subscription, except that you can't do it. You have to call a "membership support center, " which is anything but support, and mostly a tangled phone maze with no one to help you. To my relief, I thought, I noticed that the credit card they had on file had expired. Moreover, my wife's name on her CCN has changed as well as the billing address associated with the card. To my disgust and surprise, BlueMountain.com must have guessed the new expiration date from the old one and ran their greedy transaction anyway. Very, very sleazy. The whole website design and function reeks of rotten grandma honeypot. Stay away from them. They will leech money out of your account unless you cancel your credit card.

BlueMountain.com scam

I signed up for BlueMountain.com one evening very late at night to send a card to my cousin who is ill. I searched for free cards and blue mountain came up. I went through all the decisions of selecting a card and provided my credit card info.

I realize that was MY mistake, but I was vulnerable, it was late at night, and I was upset about my cousin.

Then I figured, oh well, maybe I'll send some other cards and see if I like the service, and then I WROTE DOWN THE DATE MY TRIAL EXPIRED SO I WOULDN'T FORGET IT!

That date should have been today, March 2nd, and I planned to cancel when I arrived at work, but BlueMountain.com had already charged my account! They did not even give me the full day!

I tried contacting them and was subjected to THE MOST FRUSTRATING, CIRCULAR ON-LINE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I tried the phone number and that did not work either...

I kept wondering how a compnay could make money on this. I am middle-aged; I figure young people don't use these kinds of cards (they know how to access the free ones). Old people don't use these, but maybe people like me, who have enough computer savvy to be dangerous, think they'll try it and then they get zapped!

Ironically, my cousin never received her card! So, I have now paid $30 for a card that was not even read!

During the trial period I did not use bluemountain at all, and I received no reminders or emails from them

I am going to try to get this charge removed from my account, but fortunately, I have a job and I cannot spend all my time on resolving this. I do pledge that if I am not successful, I will use the cards and write on every one that bluemountain.com is a terrible site and people should use one of the truly FREE sites that my husband since told me about.

I hope other people come forward and relates similar accounts so people will know NOT to do business with bluemountain.com!

I canceled my subscription to Bluemountain cards multiple times, and I am still getting billed for it. I sent them an email today stating this problem. Here is what I wrote:

Hello,

I have canceled my subscription to this service. Please make sure that my information is deleted. I have tried to cancel my subscription before, but it keeps coming back. Please delete my information, and cease billing me. I will be forwarding this information to Consumer Affairs.

I have attached a picture of my canceled subscription in case there is any confusion.

Thank you,

Erin Costa

I bought 10 greetings cards from the website www.bluemountain.com. The website is real scam and I won’t advise to buy from them. I got only 3 greetings cards, but after that the seller simply started to avoid me and no info about my order. I tried to reach the seller, but the customer services were the worst. I called, left messages and sent emails, but these jerks ignored me. The worst company, so stay away from them.

Hopefully this will help all the other people out there that have tried unsuccessfully to get a phone number to cancel their "free trail" membership BEFORE they are charged with BlueMountain.com - a website to create electronic and printable cards.

Their website does NOT list a phone number, or if it does, I certainly could not find it. After many searches thru yahoo and finally finding a technical number, who in turn, gave me the actual toll free number to BlueMountain, and after MANY tries thru the automated system, I figured out a way that I finally talked to a human.

My advice is to keep yelling "AGENT" at every prompt until you finally get a real live person on the line.

Do not press any choices, just scream "AGENT" at every prompt!

It is ridiculous that it takes so much time and effort to reach someone to cancel a membership.

Why does the government not stop companies such as Blue Mountain from doing this to people.

I too have been caught up in there scam. I canceled my membership within two days, service was not what I expected, and was told via email that my subcription was canceled. But they drafted my account anyway.

Now I can't find a method to get my money back. I tried the suggestion of saying agent, continually, but now the automated system will just say goodbye if you don't press a button or say what they ask you to say. It's clearly a scam and I intend to contact my local news that looks in to such things and have them assist me in stopping this from happening to more people.

I will not rest until Blue Mountain has paid me back or their name has been posted on enough news show that people will no longer use their site.

Thanks for listening!

I used to get free eCards through this site years ago, so thought I could still do that. Went to their site, picked a card, then they wanted all kinds of information, but when they asked for my credit card number, I stopped, navigated away from the site and didn't give them that info. I didn't want to pay, wanted a free card like they used to give.

Anyway, 2 months later I get a bill from BillMeLater, which I didn't recognize. Apparently, BlueMountain.com had taken the info I had input and used it to bill me, and not only that, BillMeLater was charging me late fees on top of it. I never used their service and never gave them my credit card info.

I tried to contact BlueMountain.com through their so-called customer service phone number, ha, and that was a circular argument with a machine. Then I emailed them and received a canned email back telling me that I had passed the trial period and could not receive a refund - trial period of what? I never signed up.

Now I have copied all the aforementioned documents and am sending a letter with attachments to BlueMountain.com - which is a subsidiary of American Greetings by the way... and to BillMeLater. This is total BS~! what a scam.

Please email altsupport@bluemountain.com for assistance. Please include your membership information like your email address and/or customer number. I'll have some one look into this. The only way you would've been charged is if you completed the sign up process. It would be impossible for us to bill you unless you completed it. Speaking of which, to use Bill Me Later you need to enter part of your social security number and pass a credit check so it sounds like you did complete the process and forgot about it.

Sincerely,

BlueMountain.com bad service

It took me 45 minutes to send an email because everytime I tried to send it, I got a message back saying that I couldn't send a message with a URL, which my email DID NOT contain. I was unable to reach a live person on the phone and when I tried emailing them to ask about the problem, they canceled my membership, which I DID NOT request. I'd just signed up 2 weeks ago and would have lost my entire membership fee. I finally got on the American Greetings site (they own Blue Mountain) and after another 10 minutes there, finally got a real person. She finally told me how to get a live person at Blue Mountain - you must go through the New Membership option. She was very nice and accommodating and agreed their customer service stinks. Turns out the country name to which I was sending the email (where my friend is for work) is a banned name. It had nothing to do with a URL. Once my customer service rep told me that, I was able to send the card. they'd also automatically set my account up to be charged for annual renewals; I had never asked for that and I quickly canceled all renewals.

BlueMountain.com cancel membership

I signed up for the 14 day free trial subscription for Blue Mountain. I block cookies ordinarily, but to log-on I had to change my settings. I set it up to accept First Party cookies and Prompt for Third Party. There had to be something like 50+ Third Party cookies. So of course I want to cancel my subscription. Shock and awe the server doesn't recogonize my email address. How odd since it SENT ME LIKE 5 EMAILS! Now I can't cancel the subscription using their online form because the server says I don't exist. I bet they remember my credit card number though...
Interesting to note: The membership trial period is for Fourteen (14) days . It takes your credit card company Fifteen (15) days to cancel any charges.

This place is a never ending scam -do not even sign up for the free trial - they will charge you, and you will end up in a never-ending cycle of disputes. There is no information for what the cost would be on their website, and even if you CAN find the phone number you will be disconnecteed about dozen times before you can speak with a representative, who will basically tell you tough luck!

I sent my son a Birthday Card on May 6th with a gift card for $25.00 . Blue Mountain had to receive authorization before they could send it out. The next day, May 7th, I got an email that all was checked and they would mail it out that day. He received it on May 8th. He saw it had a gift card and thought it was a scam and he deleted it. I'm writng you now about what do I do concerning this gift card. I'm Ethel M. Barr ([protected]@yahoo.com.) and I sent it to Robert Armbruster ([protected]@yahoo.com.) BlueMountain.com unable to contact customer service/scam

They advertise free cards, which they have, then offer an upgrade 30 day trial period. I signed up, gave CC info, then sent a couple of cards. A couple of days later I called and cancelled (this is only option for canceling) received verbal confirmation but no confirmation code. Then I began getting bills from "Bill Me Later" saying I owed money to Blue Mountain. I refused to pay and told them I wasn't going to pay. I tried calling Blue Mountain to no avail. However there must be a huge problem with this because you are advised quite often as you navigate their phone system that "no refunds of charges for membership fees that have been made for Accra past trial period will be issued." I never was able to talk to a real person. bill Me Later representative gave me an "alternate contact number" from their system and advised me to try that number. Again I had a long navigation through Blue Mountains system to no avail. I took the precaution of canceling a second time to avoid further charges. My bill by this time had accrued to well over an absurd $120.
my belief is that this is a scam and Blue Mountain Ecards is making a small fortune along with Bill Me Later collection agency. My husband finally negotiated a lower amount to stop the harassing phone calls that were coming multiple times per day! Beware of Blue Mountain Ecards and Bill Me later

BlueMountain.com unable to cancel subscription

I signed up for a one week trial on a Saturday, 19 March. I found the selection of cards poor and could not find suitable cards on the two occasions that I tried to use the service. On Saturday, 26 March I went online to cancel my membership only to find that you cannot cancel the membership online. Instead one is directed to call their 800 number but that is only available 8AM-8PM Mon-Fri. So you can't cancel your membership over the weekend. I forgot to call on Monday and just remembered when I saw that my credit card had been charged. When I called, after navigating a horrible automated system, I finally spoke to a real person. But I was told that the charge is non-refundable. I tried to explain that it was physically impossible to cancel the membership on the day that I tried to do so. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold for about five minutes. CSR came back to say that no supervisor was available.

What kind of reputable company doing business online does not allow the customer to cancel the same way as they've signed up?

BlueMountain.com unable to cancel membership, unable to stop charges

I signed for a free trial with intent of subscribing for a year, gave my paypal information, they have charged my card and now I have no access to the services of the cards...they say I am not in the system. I cannot access them through the 800 number no way to access an actual person the the help menu cuts you off...no email contact on the website...they make it impossible to cancel membership without charging. What's up with this company...

I have attempted to cancel for three years. I am tired of this.

When I was called I was told that the charge is non-refundable.

BlueMountain.com took money for a

In June I was billed $15.99 from Blue Mountain. I had ordered a couple of cards from Blue Mountain in 2009. Now in June, I am charged $15.99 for a membership fee. No notice or email-just the charge. When I called the above number to see what the charge was and/or to cancel, I was told "No refunds" I have an unwanted membership and I am unhappy. SCAM!

BlueMountain.com rip-off

I was charged without consent for a trial membership. I cannot find
any way to contact them. I was also charged more than I was
supposed to be charged.
The website will not allow me to go into the site to order an e-card. It tells me that my e-mail address does not exist.
I am very angry about this, and it makes people leery of using the
good websites.
It's really a shame they have to scam people, because they do have
a good website that I would have used.

BlueMountain.com In-depth Review

In summary, BlueMountain.com is a convenient website for sending e-cards for various occasions. It offers a wide range of designs and personalization features, although it operates on a membership model which might not suit everyone. The site is generally user-friendly, but some improvements can be made for mobile users. Now, let's dive into the details.

Website Navigation and User Experience

The navigation on BlueMountain.com is straightforward. Categories are clearly labeled, making it easy to find the type of e-card you're looking for. However, sometimes pages take a bit longer to load, which can be a bit frustrating.

Range of Products and Services

They offer a broad selection of e-cards for all occasions, including birthdays, holidays, and special events. Additionally, they provide printable cards and gift subscriptions, which add to their range of services.

Quality and Variety of E-Cards

The e-cards on BlueMountain.com are of high quality with beautiful animations and music. There is a good variety, ensuring that users can find a card that suits their taste and the occasion.

Customization Options

Customization options are quite good. You can add personal messages and sometimes choose the music for the e-cards, making them more personal and special.

Pricing and Value for Money

BlueMountain.com operates on a subscription model, which might not be ideal for everyone. However, for those who send e-cards regularly, the membership can offer good value for money.

Membership Benefits and Features

Members enjoy unlimited access to all e-cards, printable cards, and can schedule card deliveries up to a year in advance. These features are convenient for those who plan ahead for special occasions.

User Interface on Mobile Devices

The user interface on mobile devices is functional but could be improved. It's not as smooth as the desktop version, and some users might find it a bit clunky.

Customer Service and Support

Customer service is available and helpful, with options to contact them via email or phone. They seem to be responsive to customer inquiries and issues.

Delivery and Reliability of Service

The delivery of e-cards is generally reliable. Cards are sent via email and usually arrive on time, although there can be occasional glitches.

User Reviews and Testimonials

User reviews are mixed, with many praising the card selection and ease of use, while others have concerns about the subscription model and customer service.

Payment Options and Security

BlueMountain.com offers standard payment options including major credit cards. The site uses encryption to protect personal and payment information, which is reassuring for users.

Special Offers and Discounts

They occasionally offer special discounts and free trials, which can be a great way to test the service before committing to a subscription.

Accessibility and Inclusivity

The website seems to be accessible, with clear text and easy navigation. However, there is no specific information about features for users with disabilities, which would be an area for improvement.

Environmental Impact and Sustainability

As an e-card service, BlueMountain.com helps reduce paper waste associated with traditional cards, which is a positive for the environment.

Corporate and Social Responsibility Initiatives

There is no clear information available on their corporate and social responsibility initiatives. It would be beneficial for the company to share how they contribute to societal and environmental causes.
