BlueMountain.com customer service sucks

Blue Mountain business practices are very sleazy. They offer "trial" memberships that convert to paid in 7 days without notifying you and are non-refundable. My husband signed up when he couldn't remember the password for our existing account. Now we have two accounts and blue mountain won't refund. Plus, they are absolutely imposssible to contact via phone and have an absolutely maddening phone tree. We've cancelled both memberships (no refunds, though) and won't use them again.

Totally agree... all of the above is true...and they are associated with American Greetings. That's who takes the call if you figure out the magical code on the phone tree. Then, guess what? ... oh, our system is down... can you call back in a few hours? ARGGGHHHHH! Blue Mountain Greeting cards sucks!

BlueMountain.com deceptive practices - unsubscribe option

While trying to send a card at Blue Mountain I was sent to a page that looked like a log-in page but was actually a sign up for a "free trial membership". When I tried to back out and send the card again I was sent back to that page. I sent the card and have been trying all afternoon to cancel the "free trial membership".

It is not easy to cancel through Blue Mountain- you can only cancel by phone and their phone service is deliberately bad.

In trying figure out how to cancel this "membership" I learned that there is a class action suit pending against Blue Mountain because of this practice.

If you go to http://classactionblog.mdpcelaw.com/
and then on that site look up Blue Mountain you can find information about it.

BlueMountain.com fraud

Three years ago my wife signed up for BlueMountain.com and used their service once. In the mean time she forgot about them until last month when I discovered what was going on and we decided to cancel her subscription, except that you can't do it. You have to call a "membership support center, " which is anything but support, and mostly a tangled phone maze with no one to help you. To my relief, I thought, I noticed that the credit card they had on file had expired. Moreover, my wife's name on her CCN has changed as well as the billing address associated with the card. To my disgust and surprise, BlueMountain.com must have guessed the new expiration date from the old one and ran their greedy transaction anyway. Very, very sleazy. The whole website design and function reeks of rotten grandma honeypot. Stay away from them. They will leech money out of your account unless you cancel your credit card.

BlueMountain.com scam

I signed up for BlueMountain.com one evening very late at night to send a card to my cousin who is ill. I searched for free cards and blue mountain came up. I went through all the decisions of selecting a card and provided my credit card info.

I realize that was MY mistake, but I was vulnerable, it was late at night, and I was upset about my cousin.

Then I figured, oh well, maybe I'll send some other cards and see if I like the service, and then I WROTE DOWN THE DATE MY TRIAL EXPIRED SO I WOULDN'T FORGET IT!

That date should have been today, March 2nd, and I planned to cancel when I arrived at work, but BlueMountain.com had already charged my account! They did not even give me the full day!

I tried contacting them and was subjected to THE MOST FRUSTRATING, CIRCULAR ON-LINE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I tried the phone number and that did not work either...

I kept wondering how a compnay could make money on this. I am middle-aged; I figure young people don't use these kinds of cards (they know how to access the free ones). Old people don't use these, but maybe people like me, who have enough computer savvy to be dangerous, think they'll try it and then they get zapped!

Ironically, my cousin never received her card! So, I have now paid $30 for a card that was not even read!

During the trial period I did not use bluemountain at all, and I received no reminders or emails from them

I am going to try to get this charge removed from my account, but fortunately, I have a job and I cannot spend all my time on resolving this. I do pledge that if I am not successful, I will use the cards and write on every one that bluemountain.com is a terrible site and people should use one of the truly FREE sites that my husband since told me about.

I hope other people come forward and relates similar accounts so people will know NOT to do business with bluemountain.com!

I canceled my subscription to Bluemountain cards multiple times, and I am still getting billed for it. I sent them an email today stating this problem. Here is what I wrote:

Hello,

I have canceled my subscription to this service. Please make sure that my information is deleted. I have tried to cancel my subscription before, but it keeps coming back. Please delete my information, and cease billing me. I will be forwarding this information to Consumer Affairs.

I have attached a picture of my canceled subscription in case there is any confusion.

Thank you,

Erin Costa

I bought 10 greetings cards from the website www.bluemountain.com. The website is real scam and I won’t advise to buy from them. I got only 3 greetings cards, but after that the seller simply started to avoid me and no info about my order. I tried to reach the seller, but the customer services were the worst. I called, left messages and sent emails, but these jerks ignored me. The worst company, so stay away from them.

This place is a BIG ripoff, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to ever speak to a real person or to get a resolution to any compklaints! I urge people NEVER to pay for this service! It is so easy to get free greeting cards on the web so ther eis NO need for Blue Mountain to exist!

Hopefully this will help all the other people out there that have tried unsuccessfully to get a phone number to cancel their "free trail" membership BEFORE they are charged with BlueMountain.com - a website to create electronic and printable cards.

Their website does NOT list a phone number, or if it does, I certainly could not find it. After many searches thru yahoo and finally finding a technical number, who in turn, gave me the actual toll free number to BlueMountain, and after MANY tries thru the automated system, I figured out a way that I finally talked to a human.

My advice is to keep yelling "AGENT" at every prompt until you finally get a real live person on the line.

Do not press any choices, just scream "AGENT" at every prompt!

It is ridiculous that it takes so much time and effort to reach someone to cancel a membership.

Why does the government not stop companies such as Blue Mountain from doing this to people.

I too have been caught up in there scam. I canceled my membership within two days, service was not what I expected, and was told via email that my subcription was canceled. But they drafted my account anyway.

Now I can't find a method to get my money back. I tried the suggestion of saying agent, continually, but now the automated system will just say goodbye if you don't press a button or say what they ask you to say. It's clearly a scam and I intend to contact my local news that looks in to such things and have them assist me in stopping this from happening to more people.

I will not rest until Blue Mountain has paid me back or their name has been posted on enough news show that people will no longer use their site.

Thanks for listening!

I used to get free eCards through this site years ago, so thought I could still do that. Went to their site, picked a card, then they wanted all kinds of information, but when they asked for my credit card number, I stopped, navigated away from the site and didn't give them that info. I didn't want to pay, wanted a free card like they used to give.

Anyway, 2 months later I get a bill from BillMeLater, which I didn't recognize. Apparently, BlueMountain.com had taken the info I had input and used it to bill me, and not only that, BillMeLater was charging me late fees on top of it. I never used their service and never gave them my credit card info.

I tried to contact BlueMountain.com through their so-called customer service phone number, ha, and that was a circular argument with a machine. Then I emailed them and received a canned email back telling me that I had passed the trial period and could not receive a refund - trial period of what? I never signed up.

Now I have copied all the aforementioned documents and am sending a letter with attachments to BlueMountain.com - which is a subsidiary of American Greetings by the way... and to BillMeLater. This is total BS~! what a scam.

And as others have reported (and I've experienced) they make it next to impossible to cancer the service once you sign up. I was lured into subscribing when I received a nice card from a friend. But after my experience, my advice is to steer clear of this unethical company.

Please email altsupport@bluemountain.com for assistance. Please include your membership information like your email address and/or customer number. I'll have some one look into this. The only way you would've been charged is if you completed the sign up process. It would be impossible for us to bill you unless you completed it. Speaking of which, to use Bill Me Later you need to enter part of your social security number and pass a credit check so it sounds like you did complete the process and forgot about it.

Sincerely,

Customer Support Manager

BlueMountain.com bad service

It took me 45 minutes to send an email because everytime I tried to send it, I got a message back saying that I couldn't send a message with a URL, which my email DID NOT contain. I was unable to reach a live person on the phone and when I tried emailing them to ask about the problem, they canceled my membership, which I DID NOT request. I'd just signed up 2 weeks ago and would have lost my entire membership fee. I finally got on the American Greetings site (they own Blue Mountain) and after another 10 minutes there, finally got a real person. She finally told me how to get a live person at Blue Mountain - you must go through the New Membership option. She was very nice and accommodating and agreed their customer service stinks. Turns out the country name to which I was sending the email (where my friend is for work) is a banned name. It had nothing to do with a URL. Once my customer service rep told me that, I was able to send the card. they'd also automatically set my account up to be charged for annual renewals; I had never asked for that and I quickly canceled all renewals.

They continued to charge me after I canceled my service. As others have observed it's nearly impossible to communicate with then directly. So I'd like to share some hard won information- the contact information for their CEO:

it was amazing how fast I got a response when I used this email address after failing attempts requesting assistance.

BEWARE... This company should be ashamed of themsleves. They claim they keep copies of every email they send, but not the ones you send. They charged my card 29.95 renewal fee without my approval and then claim they sent a email warning they where going to do this. NO refund was given. CONSUMERS BEWARE... I guess i should have read here first and so they are nothing but gangsters.. will also post on Facebook as well!

I tried the 7 day trial and cancelled the very next day. My credit card was charge nonetheless. I tried on four attempts to email the cancellation to no avail. One year to the date later, they charged my card again. This is wholly unacceptable.

BlueMountain.com cancel membership

I signed up for the 14 day free trial subscription for Blue Mountain. I block cookies ordinarily, but to log-on I had to change my settings. I set it up to accept First Party cookies and Prompt for Third Party. There had to be something like 50+ Third Party cookies. So of course I want to cancel my subscription. Shock and awe the server doesn't recogonize my email address. How odd since it SENT ME LIKE 5 EMAILS! Now I can't cancel the subscription using their online form because the server says I don't exist. I bet they remember my credit card number though...
Interesting to note: The membership trial period is for Fourteen (14) days . It takes your credit card company Fifteen (15) days to cancel any charges.

I purchased the 30 day trial, cancel at any time, but was unable to download the card I wanted. I emailed them the next day and told them I wanted to cancel-no reply. Now I get my credit card bill with the charge and I am told by the computer voice I do not get my money back! Will it do any good to contact my credit card company? What a scam! I am really ticked off!

This place is a never ending scam -do not even sign up for the free trial - they will charge you, and you will end up in a never-ending cycle of disputes. There is no information for what the cost would be on their website, and even if you CAN find the phone number you will be disconnecteed about dozen times before you can speak with a representative, who will basically tell you tough luck!

BlueMountain.com e-giftcard

I sent my son a Birthday Card on May 6th with a gift card for $25.00 . Blue Mountain had to receive authorization before they could send it out. The next day, May 7th, I got an email that all was checked and they would mail it out that day. He received it on May 8th. He saw it had a gift card and thought it was a scam and he deleted it. I'm writng you now about what do I do concerning this gift card. I'm Ethel M. Barr ([protected]@yahoo.com.) and I sent it to Robert Armbruster ([protected]@yahoo.com.) I'll wait for a reply from you on this matter. I must say I was hesitant about sending this through the email way, but decided to take a chance.

BlueMountain.com unable to contact customer service/scam

They advertise free cards, which they have, then offer an upgrade 30 day trial period. I signed up, gave CC info, then sent a couple of cards. A couple of days later I called and cancelled (this is only option for canceling) received verbal confirmation but no confirmation code. Then I began getting bills from "Bill Me Later" saying I owed money to Blue Mountain. I refused to pay and told them I wasn't going to pay. I tried calling Blue Mountain to no avail. However there must be a huge problem with this because you are advised quite often as you navigate their phone system that "no refunds of charges for membership fees that have been made for Accra past trial period will be issued." I never was able to talk to a real person. bill Me Later representative gave me an "alternate contact number" from their system and advised me to try that number. Again I had a long navigation through Blue Mountains system to no avail. I took the precaution of canceling a second time to avoid further charges. My bill by this time had accrued to well over an absurd $120.
my belief is that this is a scam and Blue Mountain Ecards is making a small fortune along with Bill Me Later collection agency. My husband finally negotiated a lower amount to stop the harassing phone calls that were coming multiple times per day! Beware of Blue Mountain Ecards and Bill Me later

BlueMountain.com unable to cancel subscription

I signed up for a one week trial on a Saturday, 19 March. I found the selection of cards poor and could not find suitable cards on the two occasions that I tried to use the service. On Saturday, 26 March I went online to cancel my membership only to find that you cannot cancel the membership online. Instead one is directed to call their 800 number but that is only available 8AM-8PM Mon-Fri. So you can't cancel your membership over the weekend. I forgot to call on Monday and just remembered when I saw that my credit card had been charged. When I called, after navigating a horrible automated system, I finally spoke to a real person. But I was told that the charge is non-refundable. I tried to explain that it was physically impossible to cancel the membership on the day that I tried to do so. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold for about five minutes. CSR came back to say that no supervisor was available.

What kind of reputable company doing business online does not allow the customer to cancel the same way as they've signed up?

BlueMountain.com unable to cancel membership, unable to stop charges

I signed for a free trial with intent of subscribing for a year, gave my paypal information, they have charged my card and now I have no access to the services of the cards...they say I am not in the system. I cannot access them through the 800 number no way to access an actual person the the help menu cuts you off...no email contact on the website...they make it impossible to cancel membership without charging. What's up with this company...

I have attempted to cancel for three years. I am tired of this.

BlueMountain.com rip-off

I was charged without consent for a trial membership. I cannot find

The website will not allow me to go into the site to order an e-card. It tells me that my e-mail address does not exist.
I am very angry about this, and it makes people leery of using the
good websites.
It's really a shame they have to scam people, because they do have
a good website that I would have used.

BlueMountain.com no such thing as a free trial

I signed up for BlueMountain.com's 15-day free trial membership. After 5 days, I decided to cancel. I followed the cancellation link provided by BlueMountain, provided the necessary information, and cancelled the account. After 15 days, I was charged the annual membership fee of $15.99. The company does not provide helpful customer service and claims that "membership fees are nonrefundable" regardless of cancellation status. This company will rip you off. Do not sign up for anything unless you plan on paying the annual fee because they will not allow you to cancel and will not reimburse you.

At least you found a link to cancel your account with Blue Mountain. I tried to cancel my free trial online too but had to email them through their link as I am an international member. Of course, no replies after countless attempts of emailing. They just kept referring me to a 1-800 number which I cannot even call of of the States! I have to call my bank to cancel the card and reported it as a fraud. as it is still during my trial period when I made my initial request to cancel, they have not charge my credit card yet. Phew! Now they never will

BlueMountain.com billing

I am not happy with the business practices of this company who has a practice of autonewing their members without notifying them. They use Bill Me Later and this company does not include information as to what you are being billed for when you receive a statement. I have researched the BBB and found the following information that I think is important for all consumers to read before using Blue Mountain and agreeing to their billing practices. I also urge you to file a BBB complaint if you are unhappy with this company's billing practices:

"The BBB has identified a pattern of complaints, in that most of the complaints concern difficulty in canceling memberships within the free trial period, or at the annual renewal date. The company had requested that memberships be canceled by phone, even though consumers signed up online. Many consumers report difficulty in reaching the company by phone to complete the cancelation process and are then subsequently billed for membership. The company has responded to some of these complaints by issuing refunds. In other cases, the company refused to issue refunds, stating that the cancelation request was made after the grace period.
In April 2009, the BBB contacted the company, seeking its cooperation in addressing the underlying cause of these complaints. The company informed the BBB on May 12, 2009 that it is working on procedures to simplify the cancelation process, indicating that some changes in its phone system have been made already and they anticipate that further changes will be in place by mid June 2009. The company states it implemented an online cancelation mechanism around July 2009.
However, as of January 2010, the BBB continues to receive complaints from consumers who allege difficulty with the company's cancelation process.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the business's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB processed a total of 364 complaint(s) about this business in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total 364 complaint(s) closed in the last 36 months, 197 were closed in the last 12 months."

BlueMountain.com unauthorized charges

Beware of this company which does not conduct business legitimately. All of a sudden I noticed $2.99/month charges appearing on my credit card for Blue Mountain membership. This was never authorized and was still very difficult to cancel. After much effort they still refused to refund all charges and insisted on keeping $2.99 for the first month. I also ordered them to remove me from their mailing list which they agreed to do but to this day I'm still receiving weekly marketing mail. How this company can operate as they do within the letter of the law I'll never know. ### of the highest order and thieves by any legal definition I'm aware of.

I have an unauthorized charge on my credit card, posted on my credit card on May 13, 2010, in the amount of $15.99. I would like it removed and get credit since I never
renewed to BLUEMOUNTAIN CARDS. I would appreciate you in removing me from your
list and crediting my account with American Express.

I do not send cards out any more due to sickness and other reasons.

It was nice dealing with you.

Can you please reply?

Thank you
Joan Hevey

BlueMountain.com talking to a real life person

Contacting Blue Mountain Cards Customer Service is almost impossible (by design I imagine).

I was getting charged $2.99/month for an account that was not active and I could not find a telephone number anywhere on the website and canceling the account with the online option was not working because I did not have an active account. I searched online for the phone number and got these ones:

[protected] (correct number)
[protected] (gets you to the same place)

Both of these numbers get you to an incredibly aggravating automated phone service that never directs you to a person and eventually hangs-up on you.

If you want to talk to a person:

1) call the [protected] number
2) in the first menu of options choose "new membership"

This will put you on hold to talk to a person. Wait. I repeat wait a long time and eventually you will get a person. They are very nice and in no way responsible for this corporate designed marketing system that encourages you to hang-up and give up. In fact the person on the phone is well aware of the problems with their customer service and will tell you exactly what I told you here for getting in touch with a person.

Good luck and be wary of Blue Mountain Cards.

BlueMountain.com lack of customer service, charges to account

They charge me for a Create & Print account that I do not use, now going on two years that I have paid for this account and not used it at all. Refuse to refund charge and when I finally got a human being they would not help me. Even when speaking to a manager, he would not help and told me I could write to the corporate address. I asked him if a human being would open the letter, read it, and respond to it and he would not commit to that happening.

Too bad, because I have used the ecard account for years and would like to have kept it. They would rather lose all of my business rather than make right on the fraudlent charges.
