BlackBerry cell phone instrument repair - turnaround time breached

On the 13/12/2011 I handed in my cell phone for repair. Based on their contractual turn-around time of a maximum of 30 working days for repair, I returned to follow up on progress. 1) The phone had been returned to the branch and nobody had bothered to notify me. 2) It was returned unrepaired and marked "Quote rejected" when no quotation had ever been drawn or communicated with me - even according to their own system records. 3) I was told to hand it back in for repairs and it would take... ANOTHER 30 WORKING DAYS. 4) When I called in to escalate the complaint, the call centre repeated their scripted response that I was to wait another 30 working days - in a tone that said I was an interruption to their business and not the purpose of it. Surely if we are to legally obligated to honour contracts that we sign with these service providers, they are legally obligated to honour their contracts with us? They wouldn't accept a late monthly payment for services (not even by one day) so why do they think it is OK for us to accept late delivery on a product or service that has been timeously paid for? Oh, and why charge us at all when the product that enables the service has been withheld beyond the contractual time frame? Can someone tell me the best way to take this further because NASHUA MOBILE's website provides absolutely no guidance on customer complaints! A little presumptuous don't you think?

They phoned me about a cell phone contract from Vodacom. I told him I will only take the phone if I can keep my number. When the phone arrived it had a different number and after a day or so they could not sort it out. I phoned them the 15th June and cancelled the contract and wrote down the time and person I spoke to. The 1st of July I phoned again to make sure the contract was cancelled. The lady that answered told me that it still was not cancelled but that she will cancel it immediately. What am I to do?

BlackBerry playbook return fiasco

I bought a Blackberry playbook tablet and within 2 days it developed a image burn-in issue. I called the customer support and they asked me to do number of things like software update to resolve the problem but the result was the same. After calling BB technical support like 5 times and they agreeing the item was defective, and they asked me to call BB customer support for refund. When I called BB customer support I was shocked when they asked me to go over the problem all over again. They finally said I will get a RMA and refund. Amazingly I did not hear any for next few days, when in called again they assured me they will do it within few days. Again no response, so I called again and to my sheer disbelief the customer representative said, my complaint was not with them. After a painful explanation again they have assured that I should receive the return instructions soon.
The most shocking part of this is it has been more than 3 weeks the defective playbook is sitting with me and my money with BB. Its been a customer service fiasco and I would not buy a BB device never again. No wonder with this kind of customer service where BB is headed.

BlackBerry poor service

I have a blackberry 8520 cellphone that was purchased on the 8th september 2010, I took the handset into mtn for repairs because the buttons are not working. The stupid lady there immediately put it down to water damage and wrote the handset off. She stated to me, that it would be a waste of hers and mine sending the handset away. I took it home and started to open the handset to see where this “water” was, as I started taking the screws out I noticed the square water indicator sticker was still white, so it was impossible to be water damage. I double checked this on my blackberry handset and I even googled it to get more information and to check that I was right. I immediately smsed the one very helpful lady at the same department leonette le roux and I told her the whole story, including the fact that I had now started to open the handset, she came back to me and said I must please bring it back. I immediately took the handset back to mtn. Leonette sent the handset away for me, but now because of me loosening the screws, I have lost my warranty. All I get now is, sorry warranty void and do I have insurance, well maybe they should ask if the lady that helped me has insurance.

Because of mtn’s human error. I have always received excellent service from mtn & blackberry, I have a number of handsets from mtn & blackberry and I am now very disappointed in this service.

BlackBerry keyboard key problems

I renewed my vodacom contract (vodashop kenilworth centre) in june 2010 and received a blackberry curve. On 29 october I took it in because the keyboard keys wouldn’t work. I got an sms to say it was forwarded to jhb because a higher level of repairs was needed. 4 weeks later I called to enquire about it and was told a replacement phone was at vodashop kc. I collected it and couldn’t get email and bbm to work – and was told by the help desk that the phone cannot be registered and that I need to take the ‘new’ phone back.

Two weeks later I call to enquire (no sms received) and am told it is at the shop – I collect it last night, phone the help desk to set up email and bbm only to be told that it cannot be registered and could possibly be a handset that was ‘previously registered on another network’ and that it has to go back. So, almost 2 months (come 29th nov) without the blackberry, but still having to pay all related charges… i’m taking it back to vodashop kc tomorrow – am not holding my breath…

My experience: the customer just doesn’t matter…can’t wait for the contract to end june 2012 so that I can go elsewhere…

BlackBerry fraud

This is the scam:

These guys have thought of everything. I have seen a couple of posts (hello, jaden) which have now been deleted again which sang the praises of this pink digital limited company. This is where I first went to check if there are scams regarding this company and there I found posts saying these guys are wonderful. I believe they do these posts themselves in order to create that trust in them.

I ordered via email 2 blackberry playbooks. When I spoke to this jaden person from the mentioned company he said that they definitely have stock. I must transfer funds and the next day they will deliver the playbooks (see banking details). As soon as the money hit their account I received a mail stating that they suddenly ran out of stock and that the stock will be delivered from their uk branch via fastlinc. Then faslinc (see mail address) mails and says you have to pay duties to get your parcel. This is then a surprise for jaden as well and he prompts me to pay this to get the playbooks and he will refund this money. So stupid, I pay this as well. Yet no delivery ever.

Then faslinc mails again saying there is a problem as there are more units in the package (items I did not order) and that I have to pay the import duties. But not to worry. I get to keep the items. He got it right the first two times and now he wants to milk me – “the mark” for a little more. Now I get a bit upset and want my money back, but promises and promises and yet I receive nothing. This guy is the sales person. Next step is to talk to the manager. The same person. So I want to talk to the owner (md) or anyone else with a bit of clout.  no luck. Then I get even more upset. This guy is very cool and no matter what I say he doesn’t get upset. All of a sudden all cellphone lines are off, emails are ignored and they run with your money. Now I have found various references to faslinc with regards to scams and I reckon that this should be made very public.

Thinking back I now realise that both the guys from pink digital as well as fastlink both sound the same. Somalian, nigerian, who knows. I feel strong enough about this that I will be taking out add space in the weekly papers in gauteng, mpumalanga and cape town to warn people to beware of this scam. As I said this is a well-oiled scam which I believe have been going for quite some time. I have opened a case of fraud against these people but yes, we are in south africa where crime pays.

Obviously I have learned an expensive lesson and unfortunately ligit companies now all fall in the same category. I will never purchase anything via email, or at least the deal will go down (cash on delivery). Let this be a lesson to all. Don’t pay any monies unless you have the package in front of you and please open the package to make sure your items are inside.

A fraud case has been opened against these guys and I will keep you posted. However, I am not very optimistic.

BlackBerry didn't work

I bought a blackberry playbook on sunday oct 2, 2011 from geosat electronics. He told me that to save taxes there would be no receipt for purchase. I asked "what happens if it doesn't work?" he said just bring it back. I called him later that day to tell him that the product didn't work, and he said bring it back in the morning. I came back to his store the next morning and he proceeded to check the merchandise first. He could not get it to work either, then went on to tell me that in this business, there are no returns. I got upset and asked to talk to the owner, and he is the owner. I pleaded for my money back, then he just told me to take it up with blackberry. I said "how can I call if you didn't give me a receipt? Maybe i'll just call the cops". Then he started yelling at me to get out of his store and said "go ahead, if you calle the cops, i'll f*k you up! You don't know who I am." he tossed the playbook back to me and said "this is your sh* now, not mine!" is there anything that can be done?

Tell the store's owner that it is not your fault that the Blackberry Playbook was defective. Refund or no refund, he has got to take it back like he promised. Hire a lawyer and take the matter to court if necessary.

BlackBerry bad service

I have asurion cell phone insurance through att. I made my first claim after paying it for four years. I had to fax all sorts of documentation. Two days ago I was told they have it, now... Two days later they still say they have not. Asurion is a joke! Don't waste your money. Put that money up every month to purchase a new phone if something happens to yours. I am persistent, if and when I get a phone out of these jokers, I will cancel the insurance. Definately not worth the extra money every month.

BlackBerry bad customer service and hardware faults

I bought a phone a little under a month ago on contract upgrade, its a top of the range blackberry torch 9800 from mtn south africa from the waterfront branch and I was assured by the salesman that I had a very good phone and that I will not need to send it in for anything. I purchased the phone to travel with, I purchased the phone on the 9t of december 2010.

In indonesia on the 31st of december 2010 (three weeks later) the phone went into wht they call an "infinite reboot loop". This means that on startup, the progress bar will go to a certain level, then the phone will switch off, and startup again, repeating the process indefinitely. The blackberry torch is the best blackberry currently on offer, and is the most expensive, the phone is three weeks old and is rendered unusable. I have tried to contact the blackberry support on the 2nd of january 2011, the automatic receipt came back with a confirmation and saying that they will get back to me within 24 hrs. It is now the 5th and I have not heard a word. I am in singapore now, I had to go to the research in motion head office in singapore today to sort it out, where tey initially told me that they could not do anything about it, I had to go through my carrier (mtn south africa) but when I told them the story they have got onto it.

Thanks mtn, for leaving me dry with a bloody expensive faulty phone overseas, with no tech support!

My blackberry started swtiching off power at will, regardless of battery being fully charged and it cannot be turned on until it decides to a few hours or days later. Found out that this is a very common problem with Blackberry when they over 6 months old. They used to fix this problem. Not any more! I was told at repair shop that BlackBerry has ordered no more fixing...and that the client must pay R1 800 and then only receive a used old reconditioned phone in return and you don't get your phone back! Reconditioned phone! Puh! How dare they! This is their software problem, no-one elses! The repair shop says they are getting loads of complaints about #Blackberry .But that their hands are tied. I will vote with my money...I refuse to pay...and will buy another make on gumtree.

I have been with Vodacom fo the past year and a half and recently their service has been pathetic. For the past three months there has barely been network (EDGE) in the Newlands East Area (Durban) I have contacted Vodacom customer services on many occassions and they always seem to have different reasons as to why there is no network. Last week Wednesday (12/09/12) I called Vodacom regarding this "so called network problem" I was advised that within 24hours the problem will be sorted out, on Friday (14/09/12) the network problem was worst, I called Vodacom again and was advised that when they say 24 hours they actualy mean until they resolve the problem. I received a call from Vodacom advising that someone was working on the problem, on Sunday (16/09/12) I received a sms saying the problems was resolved and I for once after so many months had network access. This was short lived as yesterday morning the problem started again, I called Vodacom and the service advisor has now told me that when I purchased my phone I was suppose to ask the sales person if there is EDGE/3G in the area that I live in. This has surprised me as I have lived in the same area from the time of purchase of my blackbery. I have went on Vodacom Network map and typed in my physical address at home and work and I was surprised to find out that there is only EDGE/3G for a few hours a day {meaning 2hours) This is unacceptacble, I have been with other networks, namely MTN previously have never did have a problem with them. I haved also asked around and discovered that many other people that stay in the same area have complained to Vodacom yet nothing has been done about this problem. When will I ever have a decent network coverage? And why does Vodacom continue to add new clients to the network if they currently can not keep their present clients happy? Is the Vodacom network over crowded? What explanation can they give us for this persistent problem? Will it ever get solved?

I’m so annoyed by this stupid phone that I am on the edge of moving to nokia or sony erricson. Can you have so many issues with a blackberry there is just so much —- that a person can handle I wonder if blackberry even take there customers complaints seriously… Its convenient to have this phone but I’m thinking of actually just paying more for unlimited internet access and dwnloads and just use my Ipad its ridiculous to have so many issues after eachother…I hope that they read my complaint because I demand last months service to be refunded to me including my BIS that I activated yesterday…

BLACKBERRY SUCKS that’s all I have to say…and to my knowledge I have the right to take legal action against these people who are making me lose out on business everyday…

I have purchased a Blackberry Bold 2 just 9 months back for Rs- 21500.00 from my saving. Wid great excitment of purchasing a phone of a world famous & reputed company. To my bad luck there was a theft in my car after purchasing of 10 days my all things were stolen except phone & box(which I found from few steps away from my car) . There was a problem right from first day. There was a problem wid software d phone usually hangs & gets restarted 5 to 6 times in a day & dat to sometimes wen its gets restarted a battery logo wid a red colour cut mark on it displayes on d screen.

Sometimes a ERROR appears on d screen. After which I have to take out d battery den only it starts again. Sometimes wen I put d phone at charging it charges but also gets heated from d back side. My mummy had told me several times to throw that phone take some other phone she says ” jaan hai to jahan hai “. I can’t do that because its my hard earned money. I had compromised wid d defect because I didn’t time to go to any service centre. But recently wen I visited there they said dey need d bill. But now d water reached to head mark. I had contacted service centre but dey they didn’t do anything.

I was going to consumer court but someone suggested me to contact u. Looking forward for ur kind co-operation and positive feedback. Hope u will help me. I REQUEST u to take necessary. & appropriate action. Thanking you.

Date : 15/October/2011
To,
Sir/Madam
Myself Gauraav Singh Taunk and today i have recevied blackberry 9530 with 3G mobile phone from indiatimes shopping on date 15/october/2011 which ordered on 8/oct/2011.

My complaint is against the product which is not in good condition as it is used phone and accessories are duplicate (made in china) which is not at all possible because as we all know blackberry is from canada.

And, i had word with the concern person in indiatimes shopping customer care service and in that whole conversation we had they said to me about the procedure of replacement of product service.
I am not convienced with them in certain points which seems quite risky for or can say not in my favour at all when i had already paid full amount of rupees 9, 999/- plus 299/- for delievery charges on the spot.

Blackberry storm 9530 with 3G (Complaint issues)
1) Handset (used phone)
2) Earphone (damaged and duplicate)
3) Battery (seems duplicate by packaging or coverpaper of battery)
4) Charger (not in working condition and duplicate)
5) Software CD (not running at all)
6) Mobile box is old without mobile model no. and tagged with again made in china which shows the product duplication.
Note : Accessories are duplicate and made in china

My concern is that in what condition should i believe in your terms and procedures because in that procedure they want me to give this product back to your concern person or will courier by myself to the address and then i have to wait for your time duration for 10 to 15 working days, In that case i have to wait till the new product comes in my hand during this period of time the cash which i had paid in the name of your company (indiatimes shopping) will be in your side in that return i will have nothing left during this replacement procedure for that i am unable to believe in this or making myself confident for this.

So, please give me some best option considering my first deal in indiatimes shopping to make me believe in you.

Thank you
Gauraav Singh Taunk

A couple of days ago my phone started freezing, the screen just goes blank and it drop calls for no reason. I contacted Hi-fi and ask them what to do now. They informed me that I need to bring the phone in for repair that will take 2 weeks. Now first of all, why must a product i purchased just a few weeks ago be repaired alrady? i paid in cash for the phone, and believe me it was expensive! On top of that, i am mooving to mosambique in a couple of days time! can anyone please tell me if there is anything else i can do? i do not want a repaired thing!

I have a BlackBerry Bold on contract and my screen is giving problems. The display is blurry and patchy. On Sunday 18 September 2011 I went to the Bayside Village branch where the saleslady, Shahieda Smith, gave me all the wrong information. It will take 3 weeks for my phone to get fixed and I will loose all my data on the phone. She also promised me that the store manager, Faldielah Valley, will give me a call by the following day as I insisted that should they take my phone that I will need a handpiece to borrow as I have a business and all my emails are on my phone, etc.

It is now Tuesday 20 September and nobody has contacted me and my phone is getting worse by the minute. I even offered to take my phone to the repair center to try and save time, but I got zero service and NO help. My phone is still guaranteed under contract – I’ve only had it for a year. I think it is disgusting – I spent almost R700 per month (sometimes more) and I’m never behind with any of my payments. As a customer I expect the service that I pay for.

BlackBerry faulty new handset

To whom it may concern,

I have been a customer with vodacom ever since I can remember, and my spend has increased quite considerably per anum, especially over the last 4 years. I must admit that I have had a tiff with vodacom at least once a year, and every year I promise myself that when the time comes for renewal of phone or data contracts, I will stop punishing myself and just swap providers (it’s easy, and you can even keep your old number I tell myself)

That being said, I had a yet another weak moment nine days ago when I walked into a vodacom store and upgraded my phone contract for another 24 months.

As I was standing in line at vodacom menlyn park, I was asking myself, are you sure you want to do this? Remember that you had a couple of badly handled unresolved disputes with this company in the past? Nevertheless I patiently cued for another half an hour reading your nifty vision/mission statement and customer charter (oozing with ironic [censored] by the way).

Angie (the sales lady) helped me into signing another 24 months of my life away, and gave me a spanking new blackberry torch. As we stood at the counter finalizing the transaction, my subconscious forced me into clearly asking her whether she has had any comebacks on this model, as I have been the unfortunate victim of vodacom giving me a new handset, only after a couple of days finding out it has to go in for repairs. 'no sir', was the friendly and confident reply from angie. I was still not convinced, and I asked her again ‘’angie, are you sure? I am in the middle of writing my final exams for my masters degree in business, and I really have neither the time nor the patience to return and cue again to get things resolved’’... 'no mr burger, I am sure' was the second reply.

I must admit, by the time I reached my home and started playing around with the functions on the flashy new phone, I almost entirely forgot the promise I made to myself and uneasy feeling of joining vodacom yet again.

My fears were realized and I got what I deserved only a day after I received the new handset. Whenever it chose to, it either went on sos or was switched on and indicated that it had full signal, but just never received any calls/mails/text messages. I have to at least once a day switch the handset off, and back on again to receive or make anything.

You know what is funny about this whole thing? My brother and mother upgraded their contracts with vodacom within a week of mine, and after the third day of my beautiful phone acting up we realized that this was no isolated case, but that all three of our handsets are doing exactly the same thing!

As you would hopefully remember me stating earlier, I am currently completing my mba, and just in case you aren’t aware, that means that I practically did not sleep for an entire week last week! So after I slept the entire saturday, I decided to phone the vodacom customer care line to log my (and the rest of the family’s query) I was instructed that the batch of handsets we received is faulty, and that we have to return them with the original packaging for an exchange (already I am quite pissed off, as you can imagine, remember the friendly reply from the vodacom sales lady agnie?)

Monday was the first day back at the office after study leave, and as you can appreciate I got home quite late. Today I strolled into the vodacare centre in menlyn park, and patiently cued again for 20 minutes, staring at your empty customer service charter and mission statement, thinking to myself I deserve this, I broke my promise.

Eventually when a consultant was available, I received the news that most upset me (and I must admit I did not expect anything else from vodacom) – ‘’sorry sir, you will have to submit your phone for repairs, you cannot get a new handset because of the 7 day return policy’’.

Now i’m really angry with myself... All these years, all the money each month spend with vodacom (please check my account for reference)... And this twit does not want to exchange your phone? My words to angie resounding in my ears ‘’ are you sure the handset is fine, I am writing final exams and do not have the time and patience to come in again!’’ I mean I received a new handset, but eventually it was a faulty handset that I was earlier informed needs to be replaced. I expect a new handset in return, and not another couple of days without a phone and # promises that I was promised something new, only to receive something #t-up, and a slip saying they need to repair it.

As you can imagine, I could not wait to relay the good news to my brother and mother, who are now in the same boat as me...

In closing down, nothing will come from this mail, and a reply would probably even piss me off more, but as stated in the subject line I guess that in doing so, I am getting closure of some sorts.

Vodacom, please enjoy the revenue generated by myself, my mother and brother, as this is the absolute #ing last time you will ever # our conscious into upgrading any account with you ever again... And I guess that’s the reason for me putting this in writing (for the first time after many frustrations experienced in the past). I am going to print this letter, and give each family member a copy to keep, and when the time comes for an upgrade, I will send you another e-mail filled with rapture and joy, because finally we will be free of your #!

Kind regards,

Pieter burger

Sir,
Kind Attention : Mr. Shah
Reg: 1) Collection of Excess Payment of S$ 475.00 by your goodself.
1) Delivery of Duplicate Piece of BLACKBERRY 9800 (CHINESE MAKE)

With reference to the above.

It is with regret that I have to address this letter to you as you have tried to cheat me by collecting Excess Payment of S$475.00 and also supplying me with a Duplicate Blackberry 9800 of Chinese Make which does not have BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) and the Torch apart from a duplicate keypad.
1) First the issue regarding the payment of excess amount of S$475.00.
On 27.05.2011 when my wife, son and myself approached your shop, you and your partner who called herself JENY told us that the cost of the BLACKBERRY would be S$485.00
After negotiations you were kind enough to bring down the price to S$475.00.
And you and your Partner confirmed that the BLACKBERRY 9800 would be the Original piece with the Torch.
But you said that the BLACKBERRY 9800 would reach your shop on SATURDAY the 28.05.2011, and to confirm the transaction, your partner gave us a CASH MEMO of an advance of S$ 50.00 which was paid by us to your partner.
However when my son approached you in your shop on the 28.05.2011 at around 13.00 hrs., you said that the BLACKBERRY 9800 had arrived and you had given it for the input of necessary software which we had not asked you to do and which was not informed to us earlier. MAYBE it was a reason to prevent us from using the piece in SINGAPORE as it would reveal your MALAFIDE intentions.
On the 29th of MAY 2011, when my wife with my son and myself arrived at your shop, you were pleased to give us the BLACKBERRY 9800 which you said had the required software and the Internet facility, BUT it should not be used in SINGAPORE as otherwise it would get locked when we would reach INDIA and switch it on.
Believing that you were a Gentleman, we did as told and as you had agreed to accept the payment by CREDIT CARD, I gave your PARTNER Ms.JENY my American Express CARD for the transaction to proceed. Ms. Jeny swiped the Credit CARD for S$475.00 and the slip was duly signed by me, and handed over to Ms. JENY.
At the same time, you were selling another Phone to my wife which was in the shape of the FERRARI CAR and was a RED COLOUR PIECE.
THE COST of the Ferrari Phone was given by you as S$250.00, and we also liked a BLUETOOTH which you sold for S$50.00. NOW YOU started insisting on cash payment for reasons best known to you. The total costs of the BLACKBERRY 9800 and The errari Phone and the Bluetooth came to S$775.00.
Since my wife said that we would have to pay the balance in cash, it would be better to pay the entire amount in cash.
My wife therefore paid S$ 800.00 to you and you were kind enough to refund S$25.00.
When I reminded you that payment of S$475.00 had already been made by AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD, you asked me not to worry and you would ask the American Express CARD people to give the necessary CREDIT.
You took my CARD again for giving the CREDIT but there seemed to be some problem with the machine and you said that you would make the necessary calls and get the transaxction cancelled.
On the 30th of MAY 2011 at around 13 hrs, when we were leaving for the Airport to catch the flight back to MUMBAI, my wife and my son met you and you were kind eneough to tell them that you had informed the American Express Card office to cancel the transaction of S$475.00.
Believing you, I did not feel any reason to take further steps.
But I was surprised as on reaching INDIA when I casually checked with the AMERICAN CARD office and found to my disbelief that the transaction of S$475.00 had still not been cancelled.
I tried to call you on your landline no 0065-[protected] and found that the number was not in working condition, and your fax line no 0065-[protected] was directly connected to the FAX machine.
I therefore asked the TOUR MANAGER of SOTC to ask you your MOBILE no. Which you gave him as [protected] on the 01.06.2011.
But when I tried to call you a number of on 01.06.2011 on the given mobile number, you disconnected the line a few times and then allowed the Mobile to keep on ringing till the ringing stopped on its own.
Please find enclosed copy of the CASH memo given by you on 27.05.2011 for S$ 475.00 and which shows an advance for S$ 50.00, and then the BILL dated 29.05.2011 for cash payment made for S$ 775.00.
I shall request you to inform the AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD OFFICE to cancel the transaction of S$ 475.00 as the total amount of S$ 775.00 has already been paid by us in cash.I am also informing the American Express Office to take necessary action.

2) The second issue is about the DUPLICATE piece of BLACKBERRY 9800 given by you when all the time in your shop you were saying that your shop was the cheapest in SINGAPORE for BLACKBERRY Phones or other Mobole Phones. The BLACKBERRY 9800 daes not have a TORCH and BBM and is made in CHINA. When we tried to put in our SIM CARD in the Phone to activate it in SINGAPORE you fed us a story about how the PHONE WOULD GET LOCKED in INDIA and therefore we should do the necessary check in INDIA. ALSO you mentioned that since the entire software had been loaded and even the INTERNET was activated, it would be advisable to switch on the BLACKBERRY 9800 in INDIA. Thinking you were a GENTLEMAN, and as we were supposed to reach INDIA on the 30.05.2011, we accepted your advise.
However, on reaching INDIA, when we encountered some problem with the BLACKBERRY 9800 on switching it on, we took it to a regular dealer in MUMBAI, whose statement shocked us as the Dealer said that the BLACKBERRY 9800 was a DUPLICATE and a CHINESE MAKE piece, and did also not have BBM and TORCH as assured by you (KINDLY see the copy o the CASH MEMO dated 27.05.2011) which are the main features of BLACKBERRY 9800 .

It is a regret that you have tried to cheat us on both counts by collecting excess payment of S$ 475.00 by not canceklling the TRANSACTION as ASSSURED by citing non-working of the MACHINE as the reason, whilst we were in SINGAPORE, and by delivering a DUPLICATE CHINESE MAKE BLACKBERRY 9800
We shall therefore request you to return the amount of S$ 475.00 paid in cash and also cancel the transaction on the AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD of S$ 475.00, at the earliest. We will try to ship you the BLACKBERRY 9800 on receipt of the amount.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,

MAHENDRA KALANTRI

I know your frustration I am now on my 3rd BB torch and it is still dropping calls while I am talking, if my caller says on the line it reconnects again (but most just hang up and I have to place the call again). The part that pisses me off is that they don't send new phones they are refurbished phones, so you get someone's elses problems with the ones you are experiencing.

BlackBerry faulty replacement phone

I recently had multiple blackberry failures with problems ranging from distorted speaker audio to "initialization failures". I sent my first device in for repair and as they could not repair it, they replaced it. The history on this phone is unknown. Within 30 minutes of leaving the store the replacement lost network connectivity and would not function. The problem was intermittent as the store associate had it working for several minutes and would then fail. I returned later that evening to once again, get a temporary phone.in three weeks I was informed it was water damage and they wanted 360 dollars to fix it. I protested stating that I didnt even have the phone home before it died. Despite talking to everyone at telus in customer service, I was informed it was my word versus theirs and I would still have to pay. Telus could see the records indicating I returned it the same day I picked up their replacement, yet they failed to use logic and a little trust. It was 360 to repair their faulty phone or 400 to be finished with a company who, in my opinion, could care less about the individual customer. I chose the latter. Worst customer experience yet!

With all of the Problems I have had with my Blackberry Bold 9700, which are still ongoing and have never been resolved; this will be that last Blackberry Product that I will ever Buy.

"R. I.M. / BLACKBERRY / BAKA / BELL" are just large Corporations that love to take your money, and then if there is a Problem; DENIAL, DENIAL, DENIAL; just like the Customer is always wrong.

The Battery Recognition Problems with the BlackBerry Bold 9700, are well documented on the Internet. ( And Yes My Battery is a Genuine BlackBerry Battery)

Three times my 9700 went in for Service, due to the Fact it would not Charge from dead, but would show a Battery Symbol with an X through it, and three times I was given a Loaner.

Each time I was told it was a Battery problem and to buy a new Battery, and yes they had thoroughly checked out my Phone, and upgraded my Firmware.

Bell replaced the Battery and SIM CHIP as well, and the same B.S.

Each time that it happened I lost all of my Data, Contact Lists, Pictures; enough to drive a Person Crazy.

The Phone works fine as long as you do not let it drop below about I/4 Charge, then no go.

In one instance I waited for the Loaner and kept both Phones for three days swapping the Loaner Battery out with My Battery and Vice Versa, just to prove it was not my Battery, but a Problem with My Phone.

I even took the Loaner Phone Battery out and switched it with My Battery; No Problems with my Phone at all; proving to me that it was my 9700 that was not recognizing my Battery when it was Discharged below a certain level.

The Loaner Phone had no Problems Charging My Dead Battery at all, and ran Beautifully; in Fact, if I put my Discharged Battery in someone else's Blackberry, it will Charge right up.

BAKA, could not explain why this was happening and all I could do was Buy a New Battery, even though I informed them that Bell had already changed both My Battery and SIM Chip. ( Bell could no longer Help me)

So what I do now is make sure to Charge my Battery any time it falls below I/2 Charge.

So, in December when My Damn Contract is Up with Bell, and my Extended Warranty is over with BAKA, then it is BYE-BYE to "R. I.M. / BLACKBERRY / BAKA / BELL".

I bought this Damn BlackBerry 9700 Bold, because I wanted to Support a Canadian Company, and this is My Reward.

What a Frustratingly Horrible place to put a Dedicated Canadian Customer.

If that is how BlackBerry treat its other Customers, then I know which way BlackBerry is going;

BlackBerry disappointing blackberry service

I’ve wanted a blackberry for some time but was put off by the high priced contract plans. So I eagerly bought a boost mobile blackberry 8330 with high expectations.

Those expectations soon turned into frustration and disappointment when I found that I was unable to make or receive phone calls when roaming, even if five bars and 1x are showing on the phone.

I was unable to get any help from boost mobile. One boost mobile phone person told me that I should be able to make and receive calls when roaming and that my phone must be defective. Another was not sure what roaming was. He seemed unfamiliar with that particular english word and hung up on me.

I was advised by a non-boost mobile cell phone expert that my phone was probably not provisioned properly, although I had re-provisioned it a couple of times just in case that was the problem.

After wasting $60 for 28 days of service I returned the phone to best buy for a full refund.

But I am left wondering whether the phone was actually defective or whether boost mobile is lying when they say that nationwide roaming is enabled on their blackberry 8330.

I really like the prepaid plan and I would really like to have a blackberry. But I need a cell phone, and my experience was that my boost mobile’s blackberry

BlackBerry broken track ball

Just had the worst customer service experience of my life with Sprint. After almost two years, and several insurance claims (our fault for lost or broken phones) my daughter called about her track ball which has broken on her phone - it has broken three times (since replacement in January 2010). The sprint store directed us to service center and the service center refused to look at it because of a small crack in the screen (which happened last February and is unrelated to the track ball problem. We were directed to customer SERVICE which is a complete misnomer. We were on the phone for an HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES. Apparently there are seven levels of customer service, and we only made it to level four before they completely wore us down. Along the way, they all had the same script - you can pay for an upgrade or go back to the service center and fight it out there.

Potential Sprint customers... do NOT be sold by the retail/sales guys. Go to the service center - call customer service. If they can't resolve this issue by just sending a replacement (track ball problems are infamous and many) to a customer with 4 phones for 2 years who is coming up for renewal... they will undoubtedly treat you worse. I will NOT be renewing my contract, to state the obvious. One of the reps even told me that she went out and bought a better product on Craig's List. Can you believe that? I got NO satisfaction from Sprint - sadly, my daughter's first experience trying to handle her own customer service. AT&T anyone?

BlackBerry sub standard blackberry product and refusal to register complaint

Dear Sir,
I am shocked with the insensitivity shown by Redingnton staff who have refused to even register my complaint regarding sub-standard blackberry bold handset purchased only 5 months ago for Rs. 33, 000/-. The handset is giving a worn out look and the entire metallic panel is off the metal colour. The battery gets completely discharged in half a day. The Redington staff have only registered a complaint with regard to battery. I want a complete replacement of the handset and/or body of the mobile and the battery. Also, the cheap endorsement hand written on the job sheet in the remarks column, which is not even readable, shows that they somehow want to extort money from bonafide unsuspecting consumers even for handsets under warranty on some false pretext. I am an Advocate-on-Record in the Supreme Court and am suffering immensely on account of not having a blackberry hand-set. The same has resulted in pecuniary losses apart from causing inconvenience. I also have clientèle abroad and need to be constantly in touch with them through blackberry mail/e-mail. . I am going to personally take up the matter to Court and would ensure that bonafide consumers are not cheated by either Redington or Blackberry. I have given my blackberry mobile at E-48/4 (1st Floor), Okhla Industrial Area, Phase II, New Delhi-110020 vide work Order No. K-94. The Unit Serial No./IMEI No. is [protected] and MSN No. 20960E15, Model No. Blackberry 9000.

I had purchased my Blackberry Gemini 8520 from a mobile store in Chennai and only after purchase I knew it was a officially unlocked device and not a usual Airtel Blackberry, I was upset at first as I have nearly 3 years of experience with Blackberry service at Airtel and its just awesome they do it so professionally. I used a Rs.999 (approx. USD $20) worth cover for the phone from case mate, after a month and few days the display brightness diminished to very low level and I had taken it to the Redington India Ltd. service center in T.Nagar and they told me about the Rs.730 charge if there is water lodged in the device and I was 100% sure that there isn't any possibility for the same, so I gave my device for service and was waiting for about 2 weeks and I received a call from them saying there was water lodge in my device and they want me to pay Rs.730 to get the device back and the most important thing is that the device isn't serviced. I was like what the hell? Why would I pay these cheats the money just to open and take look at it and return? These people don't have the basic common sense that if I had known there is water why would I give it for service to pay Rs.730 unnecessarily? I would rather go to private service center and get it done for same price or something additional, finally they sent me some fake snap shots of water damage and stuff. I doubt if they had done it on their own to rip off the money. Today I got the device back and the display totally doesn't work. They spoiled it even more. Blackberry has to stop sending officially unlocked devices let the people get good service from Airtel, Reliance and other service providers. Never from these local Redington guys, I wonder if they have ever seen a Blackberry phone, these guys would only have experience in spoiling local basic phones like Nokia, Motorola etc. Now giving the service order to these guys Blackberry is spoiling its reputation in India. I need a brand new device and also my Rs.730 to be returned and I am not going to live them till then.

People beware of these guys. Redington India Ltd is totally a fraud company. Redington India Ltd rips off the money and spoils your device. Redington Group has to replace my device and pay me my Rs.730 back. Redington Group has to stop the scam in the name of service Blackberry devices. Redington India Ltd should no longed be an authorized company to service Blackberry devices. Blackberry has to stop the contract right away.

BlackBerry cash back scheme

We have purchased a blackberry 8320 from mobile store on 20-08-2009. They had a 5% cash back scheme going on at that time. They had promised the cash back within 10 days. After n number of visits & calls we get the same reply, cash back will be given within 7 days. It is now 2 months and still there is no positive answer from mobile store. Infact some of the representives at the store stay "do what you like, keep waiting or you will not get the cash back".
It is not the matter of 5% cash back, but it about cheating the customers. We had not asked for any cash back scheme.

Dear Madam/Sir,

One does not realize how valuable something is until it is lost...
And thus feel same when our handset is LOST..
It is not only the HANDSET we lose but an equally important DATA also..
And considering all these consequences our company planned to launch MSM ie Maverick Secure Mobile Application.

What is Maverick Secure Mobile(MSM)?
Maverick Secure Mobile(MSM)is a security application.Secure mobile helps you to protect your data, track your stolen device, retrieve your phonebook
& disable the stolen device remotely. The application works in hidden mode & cannot be viewed in the device. To launch/Customize this application one has to press pre defined short keys and password. After installing MSM in the device one must as "Reporting Contact" in the application.Reporting contact can be your second number/friends number or any other number on which you want to receive all the reports.

1.Protect Your Data :Incase of thief/loss, the moment SIM change is detected, MSM will encrypt all the data on the device like the Phonebook, Images, Messages, etc.Now one can be assured about the privacy or misuse of the data on the device.

2.Track Device :Incase of thief/loss, the application will send the Phone Number, Device Id, Country Code, Operator Name and Area Code(location) to the Reporting device through sms.
Secure Mobile will also report about activities performed on the stolen device via SMS like Outgoing Calls Made, Incomming Calls Received, Sms Sent/Received, New Contacts Added to phonebook detailed...

3.Retrieve Phonebook :The most important data on any device are the contacts.using MSM one can retrieve phonebook from the stolen device, the entire phonebook will be retrieved by sending sms contact=all from the reporting device. As soon as the stolen device receives sms it will start sending the entire phonebook through SMS, and the funny thing is by using the data plan of the thief.

4.Spy Call :If the owner calls from the reporting device to the stolen device, it will be termed as Spy Call. Spy Call will switch the Loudspeaker & Mic of the stolen device remotely, so that the caller can actually listens to the conversation. This call will not give any notification/ring to the stolen device.the person who receives spy call will not be able to know he is being called by the owner.Even if he comes to know about the spy call, he cannot disconnect the spy call.

5.Raise an alarm and disable the phone :To disable stolen device remotely, send sms=hang from the reporting device to the stolen device, and it will raise an alarm and start playing a loud Siren.MSM will also display a customized message. Here, one can put his Name, Address, Alternate number and Award Amount.

6.Data back Up :Secure Mobile has a distinct feature of incremental Data Backup.Using this feature once can backup all the data from the device to secure remote server .So now all your data is very much secured and you can retrieve it without any hassle.

It not only works when STOLEN but also can be used as PARENTAL CONTROL and many more…

BlackBerry defective charging port

I have a 4 month old blackberry curve. The charging port quit working. A couple of the pins inside broke, under normal and gentle use. This is an every day used part of the phone. How is it that it is not under warranty? Blackberry and its providers are refusing to treat this as under warranty. You claim that it is user abuse or some such thing. They tell this to providers also. I see hundreds of complaints online of the same thing blackberry defective charging port. I just want you to stand behind your product and replace or fix the phone.

I bought my daughter a blackberry curve for Christmas. it has been sent of once already and we got sent back a new one, which the screen kept going white with an error message. the one we got sent back has now also broken as we sent it of for repair O2 sent it back and said it was unfixable and it is still under warranty as it was purchased in June and I would like blackberry to tell me why they do not stand by warranties and replace this phone or fix it. 02 have said it is not possible to course the damage inside the phone that blackberry have said. I can not stress how ANGRY I am with this phone they are supposed to be good phones and there clearly not.

To whom it may concern, i purchased a blackbeery curve from the carphone warehouse in august, on the 5th of december i took it back to the carphone warehouse due to camera not working, on the 20th of december i went back there to collect my device and was told my device could not be fixed and blackberry have sent me a new one. I took my device home to find out that the device i had been given was barred and i could not use it as the imei number that was on the system had been reported lost or stolen.

The carphone warehouse have told me that another refurbished phone should be at the store by the 22nd december. I am not happy that blackberry have sent me a refurbished phone due to being told on the carphone warehouse website “track my repair” that my device had been fixed it was misleading as when i got to the store to collect my device i was told blackberry had sent me a new one but i wasnt given any choose if i would like my device back even tho the camera did not work.

I was very upset to find blackberry had sent me a lost or stolen phone that i could not use. I hope to hear from you soon.

It's time for a class action lawsuit against RIM to make this admit this a product defect.

I have been thru 2 blackberry curve 8330's, the first one, brand new would not charge and the port became loose and verizon replaced it with a new one, now a month later the same problem. The port is loose and it will not charge. Will never buy a blackberry again and will strongly advise against buying any products from RIM as you see the quality you get.
