My vet told me not to take my dog here, and my vet was right!
Under the previous ownership, I would have rated Biscuits & Bath 5 stars. Under the new management, I would not.
Biscuits and Bath is negligent, at best. I left my dog while I was on a business trip to LA for three days.
When I arrived at Biscuits and Bath, I told the representative on duty that my dog had a free boarding pass for the stay. She said that she was aware and that my dog would be fine. During my trip, I received several calls in a five hour period: one stating that my dog's vaccines were not up to date and that my dog would be walked home. Then I received a message that my dog wasn't there. When the flight landed in LA, I called Biscuits and Bath, and the receptionist said that she was unaware of the phone calls and that my dog was up to date on his vaccines and was fine. When I returned to NYC, the receptionist charged me for the full stay. I explained, again, that my dog had a free pass. She then told me that I would have to pay, if I wanted my dog. (Ransom?) She told me she would talk to the owner, John Zeigler, on my behalf and would call me. I waited two days, and then I went to Biscuits and Bath and asked to speak to Mr. Zeigler. Both he and the representative were not available. I was reassured by this representative that I would be called at noon. I never received a call. So, I emailed Mr. Zeigler and the other personnel involved. The response I received was nasty, and they called the previous owner and asked the previous owner to pay for my now personal bill without my knowledge or consent. UNCLE! Really? The whole time my dog was referred to as a "doggie", an attempt at feigned endearment. The staff does NOT care about anything but making a profit and protecting Mr. Zeigler, whom one never sees. It's a living nightmare in technicolor...the Wizard of Oz gone haywire!
If you bring our dog here, don't forget to bring your green-colored glasses, because appearance is not reality. And, your dog will not be treated like Toto.
