Bill Me Later HARASSING CALLS, BILLS, REFUSAL TO WORK WITH DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY

I HAVE RECENTLY RECIEVED A BILL FOR $3, 032.09 FROM BILL ME LATER, BUT THE MINIMUM PAYMENT THEY WANT ME TO PAY IS $485.00 WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO BE DUE 4/28/2010. I CAN'T PAY THIS AMOUNT, BECAUSE I AM WORKING THROUGH A DEBT MANAGEMENT CONSOLIDATION COMPANY REGARDING THIS BILL.

I HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO BILL ME LATER THAT I AM WORKING WITH AND THROUGH A DEBT CONSOLIDATION COMPANY ON THIS, BUT THEY SAID THAT THEY DON'T DEAL WITH THIRD COMPANIES. SO I TALKED TO MY DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY ABOUT THIS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE WORKING WITH BILL ME LATER. BILL ME LATER STILL INSISTS THAT I HAVE TO PAY UP FRONT.

NOW I HAVE BEEN GETTING HARASSING PHONE CALLS FROM BILL ME LATER, AS WELL AS BILLS FROM BILL ME LATER. I AM SICK OF IT. I AM TIRED OF IT. I HAVE EXPLAINED IT TO THEM MILLIONS OF TIME, BUT THEY DON'T GET IT.

WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO? I NEED HELP.
THESE CALLS AND BILLS HAVE TO STOP, BILL ME LATER HAS TO WORK WITH MY DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY INSTEAD OF HARASSING ME.

They constantly call me at work on my cell phone. My consolidator told me to let them know that they are calling and harassing you during work hours and that it is a violation of Federal Law. Let them know that if it happens again, you will report them to the Federal Trade Commission. She told me that the FTC takes stuff like that VERY seriously and that they can incur hefty fines. You can call the FTC at [protected]. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO ANYONE USING BILL ME LATER!

Sometimes with the debt management programs you will still receive calls for a couple months afterwards. Sometimes communication gets messed up while setting it up. Just give them the name and number of the contact and remind them that you have given it to them everytime they call. They will eventually get the hint.

Bill Me Later False Late Fees and charges in order to charge the deferred interest charge

Bill Me Later is a scam. I purchased airline tickets and used Bill Me Later. I set up automatic online payments through my bank so that they would be paid off three weeks in advance. They move the payment due date each and every month. It was the 15th of the month so I set it up to pay the 15th. The next month they moved it to the 14th of the month and charged a $39.00 late fee and $2.00 finance charge on a $10.00 monthly minimum payment. I had paid $450.00 instead of $10.00 minimum and was charged $41.00 because they moved the payment due date. I paid off the airline ticketsearly - before the promotional period expired - but because of the late fees, I had a $12.00 balance. They charged the full $54.54 finance charge because my balance was $12.00. The customer service tells me they always pay off their late fee charges first, not the purchases. Then they charge me another $29.00 late fee on the $54.54 that never should have been charged. Supervisors on the customer service line were totally unhelpful. I finally cancelled my card. This is a horrible company in my opinion.

Bill Me Later Letter received

I received a letter from this company denying me credit at Walmart.com in connection with a purchase for $514.98 on January 12, 2010.

I never filled out an application. I was not in Walmart on this day. I have a fraud alert with my name and social security number.

I resent a letter of this kind. It goes against my credit every time a company fills out an application and requests an inquiry.

I would like to know what is going on?

The complaint is not useful to me because no reply has been made. I, too, received a letter of unapproval for some request I did not make. The request was to open a Bill Me Later account for a $492.17 at PayPal. Here are the problems with this letter:

>I have no PayPal account.

>Until this letter I had no knowledge of Bill Me Later.

My concern is where the request really came from, if this is a fraud attempt to steal the $492.17 from me via a false account.

Bill Me Later Hidden Finance Charges

I had submitted a full payment on a purchase online through the Bill Me Later program. I made the payment within the one year term in full and was told personally by the customer service agent that the enitre bill will be paid off with the submittiona of this payment a month ago. Weeks later I constantly recieved phone calls on my cell phone without leaving any messages, I never answer unknown phone numbers. I think this is a way to accumilate finance charges because it shows on record that they repeatedly tried to contact you. Lately I have been getting a call from the same number so today I answered it and it was Bill Me Later. The agent was calling from collections about an outstanding balance of aprox. $500.00. I had explained to them my situation and they transfered me to another department and my records did not show that I was responsible for this extra finance charge amount. The lady came back on the phone and said that a representative will contact me later when they figure out what is going on with my account. It sounds like they need some time to figure out how to explain to me why they are trying to collect an extra $500.00 from an honest customer.

Bill Me Later Fraud Investigation Against Bill Me Later

Has anyone from California used the Bill Me Later option for online purchases? I’ve read stories about consumers being charged inflated finance and interest fees – some exceeding an APR of more than 100 percent.

These charges are unfair and illegal according to California’s consumer protection laws. Bill me later is not subject to California Law, only federal and Utah Laws. it says that in their Terms and Conditions. though I have heard many complaints about their billing practices as well, yet companies continue to use it after nearly two years.

Bill Me Later Billing for services not requested or recieved.

I recieved an email offering a "FREE" greeting card. As I am following the link and conpleting information when it became obvious this was not a "FREE" offer. I aborted the process but not early enough as this company had my name and address. I then started to recieve a statement from BILL ME LATER for a service which I did not order. I continued to recieve billing statements that showed late fees and intertest again for again something I did not agree to.

Two phone calls to BILL ME LATER had no results and after letters to them, their collection agency and the Florida Consumers services, I recieved a letter from BILL ME LATER that I should have read the "fine print".

These companies, Blue Mountain Cards and BILL ME LATER both prey on unsuspecting individuals through the offer of "FREE" items and the billing of unsolicited services which were not agreed to or used.

I will not use the services of any website that uses BILL ME LATER and recommend to all my friends and relatives to "BE AWARE" as well.

Bill Me Later Refused to honor promotion

Bought a $80 item online. In checkout I chose Bill Me Later because they offered a $10 off promotion. I paid off the balance within a month. Now 3 months later they are charging me the $10 plus interest. They give you the run around and asked for proof that the promotion existed. DO NOT DEAL WITH BILL ME LATER--THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS.

BML is an aweful company! I have a 22K credit limit on a major credit card and decided BML would be a better option due to convienience and security. I began using the service, paid first bill weeks before it was due. Then, every time I would spend hours shopping BML would decline my purchases just about every time I attempted to use the service. So in the end I would wind up using my credit card anyway. What a scam. I have the best credit rating possible and BML treats me this way. I have decided to pay my balance in full and let everyone I know to run the other way when offered this service. I would opt to use my credit card ten times over then provide any revenue to this sorry organization. Don't be fooled. Decline this service!

Bill Me Later billing scam with Jet Blue

Beware ! Jet Blue with the assistance of Bill Me Later will charge you full price for a cancelled ticket that you've never ordered. I reported the Internet fraud 2 months ago and followed up in writing to some place in MD. They wrote back, too bad, that I will be billed full price for this cancelled ticket because it has my name on it. I've never booked a flight with a Jet Blue rep. I don't even live in the city where the flight was booked from. I've never opened a Bill Me Later account. I've never been on a plane. I also learned today that they didn't even close the Bill Me Later account after I reported the fraud in December and the rep assured me it would be taken care of. What kind of consumer theft is this anyway?

DO NOT USE BILL ME LATER. I purchased a ticket in JetBlue using Bill me later and cancelled it. Now Bill me later is charging me the full amount and when i checked with JetBlue they say the tickets are cancelled but Bill me later keeps sending me the letters for me to pay. I opened up a dispute with them and they say that I need to file a dispute within 60 days or i will have to pay the money.

Bill Me Later 90 days to pay scam

I purchased $270. worth of Xmas presents on Amazon on 12/5/2008 At checkout, I was presented an offer of 90 days to pay from Bill Me Later. Being Christmas, I thought this was a good idea and accepted the offer, filling out an online form with all my pertinent info for Bill Me Later. When I did not receive a bill in 30 days, I contacted the company, who informed me that the bill had been sent out, but to an address that I had moved from 4 years prior. When asked why the bill was sent to an old address rather than the address I provided on the online form, they had no answer. They claimed I had applied for credit from them in 2004 and that was the address I used. WHAT? Regardless, a bill had been rendered and was now late. I asked how could it be late if it was 90 days to pay. They responded they did not know, but would have a special "team" look into it. They corrected the address and said they would resend the bill. When I received the bill I saw that not only was there no 90 days given, I was charged a late fee and interest! I contacted the company again and the rep did adjust the late fee "this one time", but said they could not adjust the interest until the special "team" concluded their investigation. I was to call back a week later. When I did so, I was told that me claim was denied because Bill Me Later claimed IT NEVER HAD A PROMO ON AMAZON! I have several other credit cards, so if it were not for the 90 day promo, I would have used my Discover and at least got cash back. They said there was nothing further they would do. I contacted Amazon and they did verify the promo and did reveal that Bill Me Later and Amazon were no longer business partners as of 12/31/2008.I just wonder how many other Amazon customers were scammed by this offer and then billed interest. I paid off the bill with one payment and am closing my account. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, THEY ARE DISHONEST AND MISREPRESENTATIVE.

Also signed up for Bill Me Later. Supposedly had 90 days to pay. Sent my payment with 10 days to spare. Later received bill for $35 because payment was "LATE." My account statement revealed that payment was not processed until several days after due date. Since I am professional writer, I slew them with my pen; they acquiesced immediately. Moral of the story: Never underestimate the power of a properly formatted and tersely-worded ("just the facts, m'am") business letter sent via the USPS. Don't forget to pay for a return receipt. This becomes a legally-binding document which cannot be very easily dismissed--unlike the "rant-and-rave" emails composed by far too may dissatisfied consumers.

Bill Me Later Unauthorized billing

I noticed on my Bill Me Later statement that I had been charged twice for an item I ordered. The charges appeared on different days, so I called Bill Me Later to have them clear it up for me. They accepted ZERO responsibility and told me I had to contact the merchant. I told them I would not pay the 2nd charge and would not pay any finance charges on it either. All the representative would do was make a note on my account. I contacted the merchant and they are supposedly looking into it although they said they only saw ONE invoice to Bill Me Later.

I am appalled at how Bill Me Later will not attempt to resolve the matter for me. I have no insight into their accounting system nor the merchant's. Any bank or credit card company I've done business with in the past has always stepped right up and done everything to resolve the issue promptly. Bill Me Later is a joke and I'll not be using that service again.

After years of doing business with Ace Hardware store i will Never return or use Bill me Later that thier website is affiliated with. Bill me Later harassed us for 6 months... of phone calls and letters demanding payment for an item that was returned, by the stupid store cashiers, at Ace Hardware. Even after multiple telephone calls mailing in receipts that we provided evidence to Bill Me Later they are totally looney !

This company pushes email notification of bills. But the email notifications are prone to "junk" labeling by email systems. I had paid my bill in full, but according to BML a few days late. Then some stuff purportedly from BML shows up in my junk mail, but since I'm used to EBAY and the like showing up there, I ignore, thinking that some enterprising jerk has decided to use BML as a phish. Then I get a bill in the mail saying I owe more than $20 for late fees with a 161.94% APR.

I can't help but wonder if this wasn't intentional, if this isn't one way that BML makes money. Seems actionable to me.

I've gone ahead and sent a $25 payment to them, just because I never want to hear from them or have anything to do with them again--except participate in a class action lawsuit.

I bought something on line using Bill Me later. I returned it to the store and the store said they had refunded me the money on my credit card but never told Bill Me Later. I owed the credit card I believe and they are saying I owe them. So I am paying for this twice. I do not know how to fix this because the item I bought was $500.00 and now I am paying 1000.00. I offered to pay them off and they refused. So needless to say I am being charged finance charges on both. Helpful hints in needed badly. So I feel everyone's pain in dealing with BILL ME LATER.

Bill me later has very bad customer service. I missed a payment because with all the events going on of my grandpa passing away . I paid my balance in full as soon as I received the late notice and called to have my late payment reversed I also received other charges which I was passive about and just wanted the late fee they charged paid back. The representative behind the phone was very rude and did not seem to care or understand my situation. The least they could do is give me some credit for a future purchase. I wish I had taken down the name of the person I was talking to. I will make sure not to use this service anymore and hopefully they don't do anything to hurt my credit. So just be aware before you sign up. Hopefully with all the negative experiences people are having with this company, they finally do something about it. PayPal is a great service by adding Bill Me Later they have been hurting their reputation.

I purchased material for $77.24 and was using paypal to pay for it. Instead of paypal I got a service called "Bill Me Later" which appeared to be part of Paypal. Two months later we received a notice(the first one) about bill me later. We contacted the company to find that we owe them $99.24 which comes to approximately 26% interest. This is usury. Not being informed about late fee interest and not receiving notification of the bill. We paid the $99.24 bill by check today.

We paid off the bill in March (and had not received a statement since then) and did not receive a notice that any payment was due until 2-3 days ago (early October). However, this statement was from a debt recovery agency saying that we owed the same amount we had paid off in March. We called and the company said they had no record of us paying it off. We haven't called Bill Me Later, but I am sure they will be equally helpful. It looks like we will be paying it twice. I won't use this company again and would not recommend using this company. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am having problms with Bill me Later, Supposely I had a charge in Dec 2017 for Wal-mart for the amount of 29.45 and In Aug 2017 I received a collection agency letter sayin I owe 95.00/ I never receved a bll and when I called bill m later I told them I had a diferent emailand I moved, and they told me eerything is at this collection agency. So when I called the agencey, I contacted 5 times and told me Bill me later would email me a bill never got it. Then in Dec 2017 I received another letter from diffrent agencey and whn I called them I was being harrassed and told me if I do not pay something this charge will still be on my record. I ended paing 35.00 bt I still feel this charge is not mine, nd especially I have a Walmart credit card.
Last week I nt a register letter to Bill me later and gave them my address and email and wanted answers nd I gave them a week. Still have not heard from them. Where to I go to send this complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

Bill Me Later Featured a Holiday Matching Game where you could receive up to $100 off a purchase of up to $250. After playing the game several times, I won a $25 credit toward a $100 purchase. The credit should have appeared on my statement, which it has not. After having called twice to inquire about the credit, a CSR informed me both times that he would put it in the system to investigate the credit. The last time I called, I asked to speak with a manager to which I was told that there was no manager available and one would return my call. Also, the CSR stated that the manager would tell me the same thing that they would investigate the credit; and the manager didn't have the power to apply the credit to my account. Bill Me Later seems to be operating on some unethical business tactics and should be closed.

I ORDERED A CAR COVER FOR MY 59 MERCURY ONLINE AND USED THE BILL ME LATER PROCESS. AFTER ORDERING THE COVER I REALIZED THAT A LARGE CAR BY TODAYS STANDARDS IS NOT THE SAME AS 1959 STANDARDS.THE COVER WAS DELIVERED TO A LOCAL WALMART WHERE I PROMPTLY ASKED THEM TO RETURN IT. SINCE THEN I HAVE TOLD BILL ME LATER THAT COVER WAS RETURNED NUMEROUS TIMES.YET I STILL GET BILLS SENT TO ME EACH MONTH AND OF COURSE AMOUNT DUE HAS BEEN GOING UP. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT LANGUAGE THEY SPEAK BUT IT SURE IS NOT ENGLISH. I GET HARRASSING PHONE CALLS ALL DAY LONG BUT I REFUSE TO PAY FOR AN ITEM I DO NOT HAVE. A WORD TO THE WISE AVOID BILL ME LATER.

On October 1, 2017 Bill Me Later charged me $1960.00 from US Air for a purchase I did not make. I pay all of my bills online so I did not notice the charge until January. I notified Bill Me Later right away. They said I needed to contact US Air and ask them to charge it back. I did but US Air cannot locate the payment with the information I had received from Bill Me Later, they think it is a Bill Me Later accounting error since there is no US Air confirmation number with the charge. Since I missed the 60 day deadline for reporting the error to Bill Me Later (I missed it by 8 days) they will not help me track the payment. Basically they have stolen $1960.00 from me. Now I am out $1960.00 in addition to the interest they have charged me and I received no goods or services for it. I made a complaint to the MD Attorney General and the BBB. Hopefully I can resolve this without a lawsuit.

Bill Me Later late fees, finance charges, missing bills

I had problems with them also. First of all no billing statements, then finally after four or five months you get one, with late fees and finance charges out the wazoo. Did you ever notice the 42.74% annual percentage rate. Is this legal? DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. IT WAS FOR CONVENIENCE, AND BELIEVE ME THERE IS NO CONVENIENCE, ONLY MISHAPS AND AGGRAVATION AND BAD CREDIT REMARKS BECAUSE OF THEM.

I have had nothing but problems with bill me later - I have NEVER received a bill until it was already late. No bill ever shows up before it has late charges already printed on it - I have a friend who has had the identical problem with them. In fact, the first time I mentioned bill me later he shook his head and said "Late fee scam" - they claim to have sent the bill and claim it has never arrived back to them yet somehow the bill with the late fee attached always arrives just fine. This is a class action suit waiting to happen.

I have had an almost identical experince to yours. I opened an account several years ago at a different mailing address. When I moved a couple of years later, I made a new purchase with Bill Me Later and changed my E-mail address and billing address MULTIPLE TIMES. I did not hear anything for MONTHS when all of a sudden I started receiving collections calls from Bill Me Later. The first few phone calls they claimed not to have the new address, then in later phone calls they claimed to have mailed the bills - but I find it extremely difficult to believe that I did not receive MULTIPLE bills. Very mysterious how I receive bills from everyone else without any problems . . . When the collections calls kicked in again a few months later and I informed them that yet I again I had not received a bill in the mail they then decided to inform I had apparently elected to receive E-mail statements only MONTHS EARLIER? Even if this were the case, I never received Email statements. When I finally began receiving E-mail statements they were sent only the afternoon BEFORE they are due - oh and be sure to notice they are due by 4 pm EST? And my interest rate is 64.83%! MY EXPERIENCE WITH BILL ME LATER WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. IT IS A SCAM AND A RIP OFF. My $45 flower purchase became a practically $200 flower purchase and a huge headache. I am disappointed at the number of site that endorse Bill Me Later's services. THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THIS!

I finally got a phone number and they basically told me to take a flying leap. I told them someone got a card in my name and they said "They could help me". CIT Bill me later is a SCAM. I’m filling a complaint with the Better Business Burial.

Bill Me Later Dishonest cheats

I made a purchase back in July/August 2007 from a online store and paid it through "Bill Me Later" - 6 month finance purchase offer. Being an IT person and working for a big bank, I deal with all my payments and invoices online. Upon receiving their very first statement, I signed up with their online website, selected the option to get statement online (paperless), used my checking out to set up payments spread over 6 month period to utilize the offer.

I have been getting emails that my statement is ready from them and also my bank has been prompt with all payments. This month being the 6th (last month), I logged into their website to check my payments and to make sure that I didnt miscalculate the break up of payments. To my surprise, "Bill Me Later" didnt not honor the 6 month finance purchase offer and have been billing me finance charges from SECOND month onwards. I was SHOCKED, I called the Customer Service right away, and Brenda the rep was laughing at me that I didnt check my statements and she said there is no way they will go and change their system to credit me the finance charges. She kept pointing the finger at me that I should have checked my statements, And really mocked at me when I said I want to speak to the supervisor. This is atrocious, that you will trust a company thats giving you an offer only to be cheated. How can a company like this not have the ability to make changes to payments? Their Message: WELCOME TO BILL ME LATER - THE BEST WAY TO BUY FAST, FEEL SECURE AND PAY LATER. - seems such a sham when they want to us to pay the finance charges because they cannot correct their system or charges WHICH shouldnt have happened at FIRST place if they had set things right at the first instance.

Is this how they make money by not honoring the promotion and blaming the customer for not checking the statements and not calling early enough. It doesnt surprise me that there a loads of complaints against this company and its billing system.

I have logged a complaint through BBB and couple of consumer/complaint websites. Hope to recover the charges.

Same story, man.

I signed up for Billmelater because they were offering a promotion - no payments for 4 months. When it was about time for promotion period to expire, I started checking my account frequently to see when should I pay (I always pay in full to avoid interest charges). I kept seeing "No payment due". When I signed in for the last time, I saw a finance charge of $13.68 applied. This was very unpleasant, since phrase "no amount due" assumes i don't have to pay anything. I called them, and the unfriendly rep said that even though there was no payment due, the interest would still be charged. I asked if I could have it refunded, since it was a very sneaky, but she said no because "it was stated in the terms that you have to pay in 4 months". I paid in full and asked to close my account.

Brilliant, Billmelater! What an inventive way to make deadbeats pay interest charges!

Bill Me Later contact information

I had never heard of Bill Me Later, Inc. until I received a letter stating that they "regret that we are unable to approve me for service at this time" because they were "unable to verify some of the information that was provided with the purchase request"!
I never applied for this service, and when I tried to correct this mistake, I found that the letter did not contain a telephone number that I could contact, or even provide the name of someone to speak with. I was informed that if I had a need to respond the the letter, I would have to contact them at their P.O. address at the top of the letter!
I did find a customer service number on the internet, and I was informed that their representative had no more information than I did, not a telephone number or name to contact, and that I should write a letter to the P.O. address.
Then I was counseled to call three credit agencies and put a fraud alert on my credit cards, but there might be a cost for this! I know she was trying to help, but this is ridiculous! How can a professional corporation send out a letter without providing the means to be contacted if there is a question or problem? Especially in this day when credit fraud is so prevalent, not to be able to get answers after receiving this letter is frustrating.
I do believe the Better Business Bureau will be involved with this company in the not to distant future if their practices don't change.

I received a notice from the 3 credit bureaus stating my credit
score dropped 27 points because of an inquiry from Bill me Later. They stated that this would be on my record for 2 years. That's ridiculous. Who can I speak to about this? Please help.

I am not an employee of Bill Me Later (former CIT Bank). I just use the service.

Bill Me later Inc. lets you know by E-Mail FIRST if you had been denied service.

Since that never happened with any of you other than credit caard theft and fake letters. I have no choice but to disagree with you.

I have an account with Bill Me Later service at my own consent for the last year. Each bill that I got has a telephone number, personal account info verifying SSI digits and Account number, and a Privacy Policy pamphlet. Now, there are some people who take people's identity. Bill Me Later ONLY requires the last 4 digits of the SSI number as well as your billing info. Other than that, credit is to be checked. When identity hijackers use this, they forget that companies like Bill Me Later track e-mail address info and if that info proves to be fraudulent, the hijacker would be tracked and arrested for fraud.

Also, if you do set up your account on Bill Me Later, no one is allowed to get into your account other than yourself and usually there would be "voice confirmation" as a security measure.

So if you have a bill me later bill without phone number info and shows a different p.o. box than what is usually printed as well as the letter being in black and white with the logo black and white, I would call Bill Me Later fraudulent claims office by phone. Just tell the operator in Bill Me Later that you would like to file a claim for fraud and they should be able to transfer you.

I received the same letter. It does smell like a scam, but I did have my credit card information stolen a few weeks ago. CapitolOne took care of it for me. I must say they did a great job on that one. GOOD LUCK everyone I think we are going to need it.

I received the same letter as all of you "denying" my request for "credit" in accordance with BlueMountain.com, an e-card business online. Since then I have been being billed $2.99 a month for usage! Isn't this FRAUD in the LARGEST sense? I need some help here!

I received the same letter stating they were unable to verify information provided on the application. I’m at ease knowing this person was not able to open an account under my name, but vivid that I know have a “hard inquiry” on my credit report!

I think it's a scam! I got the same letter a couple days ago. I called Bill Me Later and they could not give me any information. Totally useless people. All they said was I should put a fraud alert on my credit.

They very conveniently put Equifax Credit Bureau on their letter. I called and someone tried to sell me a monitoring package for $15.00 per month.

Reeks of scam and they should be shut down for these kinds of business practices!

Wow! Thank 's to Bill Gates and all the wonderful rich genius' that brought the computer into my home so I can find out that I am not alone in this ridiculous ###! On the other hand; Were it not for these magical devices, perhaps there would be hell of a lot less people in need of answers and justice? The new age of technology has made our lives more convenient, but along the way as it has added so much undue cost and stress to our lives. I really wonder if the degree of comfort will be worth the final cost?

When I was a youth you could be careful of your money and hold it in a few semi-safe places and check it regularly! Of course there were thieves, but you knew who they were. A bad guy was in the form of a robber, or someone you thought you could trust. Either way you weren't left to wonder who the thief is and if they will ever be brought to justice while dealing with the burden of trying to be your own lawyer and dectective. Why then can't we be the judge and jury if we do find the dirty pitiful theifs?

I received bill me later stating the same problems they had, and mine was dated dec 07, 2009 for a purchase o f$ 116.94 for walmart.com and i never in my life had credit cards, i used cash or debit card from my bank, if you can just sent me a copy of this purchase i would be happy to even know who did apply for that, and that we can do something about it. the ref # is [protected]-[protected], thank you charles cortright phone #[protected]

I also received the same letter, it was written in my husbands name. My husband just happens to be incarcerated and has been for over a year. So I know that he is not trying to obtain any kind of credit. The whole world has got enough problems just trying to live, without something like this added to their survival plan. The fact is, " everyone should have their credit monitored as long as they live."

I agree, let's get them quickly or at least in a timely fashion!

Bill Me Later Fraud

In July 2007, I orderd furniture from Gately's www.designdining.com website. I chose BillMeLater as my method of payment. I already had an acct w/them and had never had any problems. At the time the order was placed, I took advantage of the 3 months-deferred-payments plan. My furniture was supposed to arrive weeks after my order. The furniture didn't arrive when it was supposed to. I went to the furniture website and entered my order#. It said that the dining set was on backorder and that I could "click here" to PROCEED with waiting, or NOT click so that the order would self-cancel. I elected to self-cancel.

Fastforward to my first bill from BML. I shouldn't have received it, first of all. The order had been cancelled. I had not RECEIVED it! At this point, I try to call Gatelys & couldn't get a human on the phone (always a bad sign). So then I call BML, who tells me how to file a formal complaint. The next day, I sent a certified letter to BML, along with the complaint form PLUS a copy of THEIR (BML) terms of service. Per #7a at https://www.securecheckout.billmelater.com/paycapture-content/fetch?hash=PD4106KD&content=bmlweb/bmlwebtnc.html, I am covered and should NOT be held responsible for the bogus charges on my account. Of course, they could care less about their own terms of service (oh but they will!). In early January, I received a written response to my complaint stating that all charges would be reversed, and they were. I thought that was the end of it. Boy was I wrong.

I received no statements for Feb and Mar 2008 b/c there was no activity on the account. This month (April 2008), I received a statement. I thought, "Here we go again." Now here's the kicker. BML allowed Gatelys to charge my account for the charges BML REMOVED IN JANUARY! So now I'm right back where I started. So once again, I call customer service, who tells me that this is NOT a chargeback, and that Gatelys was the merchant that put the charge on the account. I was told, once again, to file a formal complaint.

Let me say this first. Less than one week after I ordered the furniture, Gatelys filed bankruptcy. However, their sites were still up and running and TAKING ORDERS from consumers for at LEAST 6 weeks AFTER filing bankruptcy. When I tried to login to their site in December (when I first complained to BML for the erroneous cill) it stated that it was "temporarily closed" for "updating". What a crock. They were also no longer listed on BML as a BML merchant. So how in the heck are they charging my acct now when they don't even have a merchant acct w/BML?

Back to the story. On April 17, 2008, I filed my second formal complaint. Today, April 26, 2008, I received a response. BML has changed their tune now. They're saying that the charges are valid "“because the merchant states that you were beyond the timeframe to receive a refund.” Uh, no. That's a lie. There WAS no cancellation policy. There WAS no refund policy. No "refund" policy includes a merchant CHARGING YOU for merchandise you NEVER RECEIVED - CANCELLED OR NOT! I NEVER GOT THE DA*M FURNITURE! BML is in FULL and WILLFUL violation of their OWN LEGALLY BINDING TERMS OF SERVICE by continuing to bill me for this. They cannot provide any evidence of this said "cancellation" policy, no "refund" policy, etc., , and just b/c that fraud of a company Gatelys SAID there was does NOT make it true. And they also cannot provide me with a delivery receipt, much less one bearing my signature. Yet they say I'm responsible. We'll see what the Attorney Generals (in at least 2 different states) have to say, as well as a judge. I'm only 4 hours from Maryland, so I'm happy to go to court b/c they don't have a leg to stand on.

Their worthless Consumer Dispute dept in Timonium, MD is a joke. In the letter I sent to them, they COMPLETELY ignored my questions (which were in bold, underlined text) asking why I was responsible for items NOT received. I'm complaining to the CEO of the company now, and if that doesn't get me anywhere, I'll complain to the Attorney General in my state, in Maryland, and in Nebraska (the CEO is in NB). I will also be filing complaints with the BBB and FTC. I will also complain to TV news "troubleshooters", and last but not least, I am going to hire an attorney. I will fight this, and I will win per THEIR OWN TERMS OF SERVICE. I'll also request reimbursement of all legal fees, travel fees, etc. that I incur in fighting this flim-flam company.

This company does NOT offer "zero fraud" protection - in fact, it's FAR FROM IT. I want to say that I've never been ripped off before, and I'm very savvy about things like this. So, don't think it can't happen to you. It's best to avoid this company AT ALL COSTS. Their service isn't worth the headache you'll endure if you encounter a problem. They could care less if you are ripped off b/c I'll bet that most consumers just roll over and allow it to happen, but they have chosen the wrong one to rip off this time. Unfortunately for them, I'm not going sit by idly while they try to stick it to me. I plan on fighting it tooth and nail every step of the way, and I am going to pull out ALL of the stops as far as media and agencies that I can report this to.

My local CBS station, whose demographics cover over 2, 000, 000 people, LOVES it when people contact their troubleshooters and a big-name company is involved. The more well-known the company, the more this network loves it. So we'll if the old saying about "there's no such thing as bad publicity" is true, because they're about to get some. I'll give them copies of all of my paperwork, including the letter I'm sending to the CEO, and they Google BML and find all sorts of complaints and mention that too (they always do that with big name companies). Hopefully, I won't have to go to this extent, but I will if this isn't resolved VERY quickly.

I made a transaction in Nov. 2010, bill me later had promotion 0% APR and no late fees etc. until Jan. 2012. There is a 17.99% after the remain balance. They changed the promotion in Jun. 2011 no more at all, so I got interest charge and late fees after Jun. 2011. I called them regarding the promotion has been changed, they said " we never offered 1 year 0% APR and no late fees, " I said could you double check the promotion for me please? few week later no any respond at all, I got another interest charge and late fee again. I couldn't find the promotion at all, and they changed the website, because it has been 8 months. DO USE BILL ME LATER WHATEVER THE PROMOTION ARE. They're kind of legal loan shark.

Wow! Wow!...How this company is allowed to do business anywhere by any government is beyond my comprehension! Where's that so called Credit Reform you ran on Mr. President?
A $19.00 late charge fee on a $138.00 charge that is only 10 days late? ... Lets see!... $1.90 per day charge, multiplied by 365 days...that is a total of $693.50 a year fee on a $138.00 loan. that comes to the astronomical" rate of 503.6% . Al Capone did not charge these rates.
Pity on the poor man who may be late on his payments with these "scammers" who are owned by "PayPal", shame on you all! (including the government)

My next step is close the acct. ...then the BBB, and then the Federal Consumers Bureau and then...maybe a good law firm to start a Class Action Against PayPal.

So I started getting calls from bill me later on my cell phone, at first it was annoying, mostly because the calls would come and I would wait on the phone just to learn that the call came either after or before business hours. How can a company call you when there's no one there to take your call? I only stayed on the line to explain that the person they were trying to contact wasn't me, didn't live with me, and they had the wrong number.

After a couple days of this I got tired of it and found a customer service number. I finally got to talk to someone about this, explained that I was not the person on the account and that they were calling my personal cell phone which cost me minutes every time they called. At this point I thought it was over, wrong. I get a call the very next day, I talk to someone about the problem again, they saw that it was noted that this was the wrong number and noted it again. I get a call the very next day and talk to someone a third time, this time they told me there was notes on the account stating they had the wrong number, but because they didn't have the right number they would keep calling me until they get the right number.

Now how can you do business like this? I'm obviously not the right person, I don't know the number, I don't even have an account you have no right to call me, and yet you're telling me it's in my hands to get you the right number? To me this just screams fraud, they waste my time and money and have the audacity to tell me I'm responsible to get them the right number? Do your job and get it yourself! Stop bothering me about it! I will never do business with this company ever! I would suggest the same to everyone else as well, unless you like being bullied by people over the phone.

Went to make an online purchase and used "Bill Me Later" Some how a 2nd account was created. I got a phone call for an idiot that told me I was three months over do on a payment. The original account is current as always has been. The person on the other end of the line told me this is a "programming error" and it was known as a "ghost" account? The amount owed was 37.00 they were trying to gouge me for another 100.00 in late fees. I called back and got another person who took the late charges off and I paid the 37.00.
Please beware...and do not pay the late fees. This scam is worse than any that have circulated Ebay.

I regret applying and getting approved for a Bill Me Later account. I have been using PayPal for years; transferring, paying and receiving money, and making purchases every month with no problem at all. My transactions were detailed and in plain sight, easy to read, etc.

PayPal kept showing this advertisement asking me to apply for Bill Me Later. I finally did. It has been a nightmare since then. The moment I choose to use bill me later, the money would come out of my PayPal account and my bill me later account...both, then credited back to my PayPal account later, on the same transaction, but yet, no single transaction of it. You would have to click the plus sign next to the purchase to see the info. It is too crooked. Too misleading and completely unnecessary.

When dealing with Bill Me Later's service on the phone, they have been nothing but total idiots; obviously with no skills at all.

They need to be shut down. Their business is crooked to say the least. I was given a measly $1250 limit when opening the account last month. I used nearly $1100 and paid it off right away. The spending/usage experience with extremely unpleasant from the beginning. This company is a SCAM!

Worst yet was when they put a freeze on my account and never bothered contacting me. I noticed it when logging into PayPal and saw my current balance was $82.50, but available credit was $0.00. I called them to inquire and as usual, ended up dealing with an idiot! I told the idiot to close my account right away. I paid the balance right away and demanded they close it.

What an awful company. I hope to God they go bankrupt!

BILL ME LATER -I was a vicitm of FRAUD- BEWARE!While placing an order on the Buy.com website they offered a $20 savings for purchases over $100 using Bill Me Later as a form of payment. As soon as I submitted the order for 2 video games, there was an immediate $1561.41 unauthorized purchase to my account for a gas grill I did not order. I contacted BUY.COM immediately who was no help in fixing the problem.They insisted there was no order with my shipping address or email address. I explained that I was charged for a $1561. item by BILL ME LATER.COM. They said there was no order to cancel and yet BILL ME LATER states I an responsible for this charge. BEWARE OF BUY.COM and BILL ME LATER.

Bill Me Later is a joke...
I used it for the gifts for my wedding for our wedding party because we had 22 poeple and that is a lot of money so I did it under the terms of the 90 days intrest free..now keep in mind I still made some payments well, when I got the bill a few months later it was double of what it had said it was going to be, so I called and gotr the run around from a very rude little snit...so, after I got no place with her I paid the bill in full and guess what I got yet another bill for 69.13 for what? So, now I am in a war with this joke of a company..what a mess, my advise is not to even mess with this company they rip you off and charge you for God knows what..after you pay a bill in full it is paid off and one other thing...I told her I wanted to close my account and she became even more of a snit then she was being during my call it the "customer service number" cutsomer service my ###..She was telling me that I was dumb to close my accout and I told her that I was dumb for having open the account in the first place. That is how I find this extra amount hard to figure out the account was closed and paid in full? Stay away from these people..

Bill Me Later Bill Me Later tries a bait and switch

We made a purchase from Grizzly Industrial and used the Bill Me Later offer. This is the only purchase we've ever made using Bill Me Later. As this was being offered by a company that we had grown to trust, we didn't think twice about taking advantage of this "deal."

Each statement clearly said the promotional period of zero percent interest ended 3/1/08. Each month we made payments, the last one being Feb 11th which paid the balance off in full. They received it and processed it on Feb 20th.

Due to the frequency and similarity of similar problems had by others, it's clear these "problems" are not the result of poor systems or incompetent staff. Much more troubling is that it appears to be a very core concept of the business model at Bill Me Later. Something like this doesn't happen repeatedly to so many people just by mistake.

It's on purpose.

This company is making money from people by being dishonest.

It's a shame that otherwise reliable businesses are going to be tarnished by having such a dishonest "partner." I'm letting every business I come across who uses Bill Me Later that I'm LESS likely to use them as a result.

Bill Me Later was certainly dishonest with me, too. BML is a PayPal Company! I always trusted Paypal, but no longer. They made a big mistake getting into this shady business of manipulating your due date and payment methods available so your last payment is late and they can rape you for that 19.999% interest.

Hi there,

I’ve read several stories about consumers being charged inflated interest fees – some exceeding an APR of more than 100 percent.

Not sure where you're from, but these charges are unfair and illegal according to California’s consumer protection laws. I work with a law firm investigating Bill Me Later for illegal billing practices and they want to hear from California residents taken by this scheme who may be interested in participating in a case. Yes, that is what AGs are for, and fully plan on complaining to them, loud and clear, and BML. They tout "zero fraud", and if that's not a crock, I don't know what is. They say there's no such thing as bad publicity, so we'll see if that's true when I go on TV on a station that reaches a demographic of over 2, 000, 000 people and tell my nightmare of a story. BML tried to bill me for furniture I never received. I complained and the charges were removed. Now almost 3 months later, they've recharged my account and say that the charges are valid b/c I didn't apply for the refund within some certain timeframe. That's a LIE. And on top of that, I NEVER got the merchandise! It was a solid granite-top dining room table, plus 4 chairs. It was to be delivered via freight. There would be a RECORD of that delivery, along with a piece of paper containing my SIGNATURE. But BML can't seem to come up with that. According to their terms of service in section 7a at https://www.securecheckout.billmelater.com/paycapture-content/fetch?hash=PD4106KD&content=bmlweb/bmlwebtnc.html, I should be COVERED by BML. They're willfully disregarding their own LEGALLY BINDING TERMS OF SERVICE, so let's see how that works out for them in the media. And with the AGs, and in a court of law.

Bill Me Later Scam charges!

Beware of Bill Me Later Payment scams. II am so furious with them. I've had a bill me later account for over 5 years and have always made my payments on time and before the promotional period ends. I view and make may payments online thru their website. I usually only make one purchase at a time, but this holiday season I bought an iPod in September and some movies in November.

The iPod was a promotional purchase for $400 that expired on 1/1/08, and the movies were non-promotional purchase for $225. Since I made over $550, worth of payments between 10/1/07 and 1/1/08, I assumed my iPod was paid off, prior to the promotional date. I got my January statement, and was told I owed finance charges on my iPod purchase, because I did not specify how I wanted my on-line payments allocated.

When I pointed out to the customer service rep (Sonya) that there is not an option to "reallocate" my payment on-line, she told me I would have to call to make that request. I asked her if she could reallocate my payment, and she told me she couldn't because the payment has already been processed.

I asked to speak to a Supervisor. Supervisor Kimberly, told me that was their "policy". I told her I thought the policy was unfair, she said "sorry you feel that way". I requested to close may account, she said "sure and hung up."

BILL ME LATER IS A SCAM, you're better off using a credit card. At least with a credit card, you know what your getting.

BillMeLater is not a scam in law, but its extremely scammish, NUMEROUS users are scammed by them for real!

Bill Me Later Scam billings!

I Knew that my payment was due the end of december. I send the payment in on the 12th of the month to make sure that it won't be late. I think this company is scamming people by delaying posting the check until is overdue and then slapped me with a 49.28$ finance charge. That's just crap. I'm not paying for something i don't owed.

I am being called up to 5 times daily about a bill which I never incurred. I have tried researching this with Bill Me Later directly over several months; and promises have been made to do so. All I continue to get is a higher bill each month. I have never bought anything through Bill Me Later. They have given me an account #[protected]. When I did ask; what I was being charged for originally, all they could tell me was that it was something recreational. My latest invoice shows a balance of $146.00 and I still cannot get an answer of how this came about. One customer service rep told me it had to do with a bid of 3 points I made a year ago for a Cheesecake Factory meal card.I didn't win that bid and heard nothing more from it. It was through Dash Deal. Evidently Dash Deal may be a part of this scam. I can't get it sorted out; and I won't pay for anything they can't verify. I want the phone calls and invoices to stop.

I called after viewing my account online and they drummed up some ridiculous

Late fees.They raised my account. balance and refused to remove late fees.

I don't need these people reaching in my pockets, I am to busy to chase these crooks down .I will never do business with this company again.

Bill Me Later Dishonest

This is my second posting since my earlier posting doesnt show up on this site.

Events happened on (12/12/07) 11:00 AM EST

I made a purchase back in July/August 2007 from a online store and paid it thourgh "Bill Me Later" - 6 month finance purchase offer.

Upon receiving the very first statement,

> Used my bank's BillPay system to set up exact payments spread over 6 month period to utilize the finance option.

My final payment was due in December, I logged into BillMeLater.com account, to double-check the last due amount and to make sure that I dont incurr financial charges, To my disbelief, "Bill Me Later" didnt not honour the 6 month finance purchase offer and have been billing me finance charges from SECOND month onwards. I couldnt believe the statements, I checked and re-checked my due dates and my banks payment structure which were all perfect.

Called up the Customer Service right away, and Brenda the rep was laughing at me that I didnt check my statements. She said I should have checked my statements and should have called during the SECOND month, she refused to do anything about it and asked me just accept the charges. She said that their system doesnt allow any modification to old statements. She kept pointing the finger at me and really mocked at me when I said I want to speak to the supervisor.

This is atrocious, that you will trust a company thats giving you the offer only to be cheated. How can a company like this not have the ability to make changes to payments? Their Message: WELCOME TO BILL ME LATER - THE BEST WAY TO BUY FAST, FEEL SECURE AND PAY LATER. - seems such a sham when they want to us to pay the finance charges because they cannot correct their system or charges WHICH shouldnt have happened at FIRST place. They goofed up with the account set-up which resulted in me being charged.
Is this how they make money by not honouring the promotion and blaming the customer for not checking the statements. It doesnt surprise me that there a loads of complaints against this company and its billing system.

I demand an apology and agreed that their system cannot modify old statements BUT they can always give a refund after doing the cumulative APR/APY calculations.

Today its 01/04/2008: Heather from Bill Me Later, contacted me on 12/18 via email after going through my earlier complaint, but my yahoo account tagged it as BULK and I didnt notice the mail in BULK folder until New Years, I replied to her on 1/3/2008 and 1/4/2008. And to my surprise, the orginal complaint was removed from this site (I guess, it was reported as resolved or incorrect complaint or person cannot be traced!).

I was charged by FICO.com for an automatic renewal, that I was unaware of. Bill Me Later never sent an invoice until there was a late charge attatched. I had no idea that I owed the money ... I called FICO.com and they credited the account and cancelled the automatic renewal. Bill Me Later is charging me with the late fees along with interest. Is this legal. In all actuallity the charge never existed, and to make it seem even more "fishy" the company didn't even have my current address. (my mailman delivers all my mail from my previous address) I never received any invoices. Bill Me Later calls me day and night now. They are harrassing me for money that I don't feel that I owe.
