Big Slice Pizza / ignorance toward autistic child and parents

1 United States Review updated:

Dear parents, relatives, friends of children with autism. Please know that if you spend your money at Big Slice Pizza, you will be giving your hard earned funds to a person who would accuse you of being a bad parent if your child happens to have a meltdown nearby him. The ignorant ### who tried to order me and my 4 year old daughter away from his kiosk, and then called mall security when I dropped the f-bomb back to him, claimed to be the owner; it was not just some idiot who happened to work there. I understand that he is trying to run a business. But if he can't take a child in distress for 15 minutes(he tried to claim he was putting up with it for an hour)...anyway, anyone who's been in my shoes or knows someone who has: if you're hungry, before giving him anything, please consider the autistic child you know, and their parents, and ask yourself if you should.

Depending upon the degree to which your child was being disruptive, and 15 minutes is a long time, should he have forgone the comfort of other patrons who were probably just as bothered by your child's melt down? Don't get me wrong, having a child with autism can't be easy and my heart goes out to you, but making the store manager out to be a monster or some tyrant is a bit much. You, the parent may need to seek alternative measures for when your child has a meltdown. Maybe take them to the car and sit for awhile, outside with them, comforting them until the meltdown blows over then return.
