My mother was admitted from Nov end to early Dec, 2007 for about 15 days. at the Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital.
She walked into the hospital by herself and had to be taken out on a stretcher. We have to buy medicines in the hospital pharmacy - later I come to know at huge prices.
Later I know that healthy people are scared into heart, this and that surgeries - all under guise of a charitable institution.
When I brought the unnecessary tests, cheating at heir pharmacy with examples etc my final bill was reduced by Rs 3000 and several of the tests disappeared.
I sent them a letter on 15.dec however they have not responded to date - with data.
This is going on at all major hospitals - doctors have become money crazy.
The triumvirate of Insurance + Pharma manufacterers + Hospitals is cheating people of their funds.
Why do docotrs have to think that the Med Ins belongs to them - so do tests , tests and tests - with commissions mind you all the time for the doctors for referring (upto 40% is paid for a MRI brain scan by the Scan centres) - if 2 days required, they are kept for 1 week.
Unnecessary Surgeries and on and on
In fact Med Ins is a bane with doctors gunning for the money and no treatment.
I wrote to the Jain Trustees - but no word. All are cheats behind the big talk, corporate facade and trusteesship etc.
And these guys say eating meat is a sin and very bad for health - what about cheating? It's fine with them I suppose.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Jain Hospital is worst in ICU nursing care and diagnosis as well. They don't have trained nurses and nurses are very cruel in ICU New building, they don't take care the patients properly who stays in ICU. Duty doctors are not well experienced. Hospital don't have good cardiac competency to handle critical cases.They just do lot of experiments on the patients who got admitted.one of the heart patient died due to over cardiac surgery, they don't have skilled cardiologist. Hospital has Floor coordinators that they doesn't respond properly, they just follow up with the due bills. The land is given by the state Government free, but still they harass the patients by billing more.
There are cheaters and fraud, my grandmother surgery was there at the hospital at the time of surgery there told me it cost 40000 rs after the surgery the fainal bill is showing that the surgery cost is 70000 rs, when I asked about this to management none of them are ready to answer or respond to me finally every one told me to meet ( dr Preeti) administrator, I went and asked her regarding the bill, but I was really shocked of her way of speaking and attitude towards a customer, she is saying that I should pay the amount mentioned in bill without paying I can't leave or discharge my grandmother, I told for what reason I should pay Such amount but she was not ready to respond me, she says only one thing that pay and get out from here or if u can't pay leave your grandmother or our person will take your car as the bill amount, I need to now it's called trust and there are giving service to customer or doing rowdy some, I was really feed up with them and had not power to fight with them so finally I had taken 2days time and I payed 1lack 12 thousand as two days penalty charges, it's one of the worst hospital I ever had seen, till I pay the full bill there didn't let me to see my grandmother
Even I have also faced the same thing & they have also cheated me and my personal belongs of Gold ring even after my wife was declared dead. Such person and the institutions should be seriously dealt with.There is no complaint assistant in the hospital at Girinagar & vasant Nagar. Their Administrative Manager My Ajay kumar has no reply to the theft taken place. His behavior is unpleasant and have erased the CC tv footage.
Jain Hospital at Vasanthnagar, Bangalore is one of Worst Hospital. They don't have good team of doctors and poor in diagnosing. Nursing care is very worst.. ICUs are very worst and nursing team is very cruel. People should avoid going to this hospital for diagnosis.Patients are becoming victims of this hospital.
Agenda of that hospital is caring with compassion right? Thea psychiatry dept has failed at that. The Dr present there has no clue of what compassion or care is. Basics such as patience, rapport building and just empathy or even understanding is not there. He is in such a sensitive field and having such a [censor] approach towards people is bad. He has no sense of how to talk or ask questions, repeats and writes everything that is said like a parrot, very bad service. If this is the way he treats all his patients, i feel very bad for them. He is arrogant and looked half asleep. He was so disinterested and mean, it's a shame to the profession. Instead of being approachable, he looked more like a dictator. Very bad service, really disappointed.
Well even me being a Jain say that these ppl have put in shame the name of Bhagwan Mahaveer by such immoral, unethical practice.
I have seen many of my relatives (all Jains) suffer in this hospital.
I will never recommend anybody to this hospital.
But that doesnt mean all Jain hospitals/schools & colleges are money making institute.
I have studied in a jain school and can say that they practised professionalism to the core. the selection proces was not handled by trustees but by principal & administrator.
As said by "nonofurbiz" it is better you go to a trusted doctor than to a big hospital. (I have a doctor near my house who charges only Rs. 10 :) and it works ;) )
I can't agree more with your assessment of these cheats. My mother is suffering from Cancer and I blame myself for having brought her to this cheat of a hospital. But then I try to console myself by assuming that the story would have been no different at other hospital.
You and me and all the other people of this world are hostages to doctors of this world. Our pockets are theirs. Our money is theirs. May God punish this class of cheats.
Hospitals today are no longer hospitable. Please read the points below:
1. Students aspiring to become doctors have to shell out huge sums to get into a medical college. Then they have to bribe the corrupt officials to pass their final practical exams and like.
(By this time these young doctors would have forgotten that they wanted to be doctors to serve the society, they are now more keen to pass out and start making money to compensate for the expenses that made them reach this point of the career.)
2. They look at suffering patients as though they are one of those experimental dead specimens they had operated during their college days.
3. All the classy hospitals who would have invested heavily on infrastructure and equipments also need to compensate for the expenses. This is done by having a word with their doctors to recommend the patients to take all possible(unwanted) checks so that the cash is in flow and at the same time the equipment is also in use(which would rust in the corner otherwise).
4. They build false hopes (even when the patient is dead) and recommend some emergency operation costing a fortune.
5. Things like above start happening frequently, and the docs are more used to it and want it to happen again and again as there is such a dirty gush of money flowing into their pockets.
6. One of my relatives died in this hospital.
He had a small infection in the nose, doctors took it extra serious and put him into an ICU. None of my ignorant relatives questioned as to why he was in ICU. He died in a week with stitches on his abdomen( at the kidney area). I came to know that he was in charge of the Junior(freshers) doctors team and that the report had mentioned something about kidney.(Why the hell did the examine his "Kidney" when the problem was "nose".)
There are many such cases I don't want to discuss here.
From my experience all the big establishments are commercial establishments and are more interested in money rather than health.
At some point of time one of our family members had a serious sickness. We tried all the big hospitals and private doctors. The sickness was getting worse than better(We nearly had spent Rs. 75000 by this time).
Then we decided to go to a smaller govt. hospital. The doctor there was old and experienced. He solved the matter within a month. (It cost less than Rs. 500.)
I know its true, as a Jain some of us are ashamed of our people. They do not think twice, but it's world over i can assure you not just Jain hospital, bangalore.
Why arent there complaints about the medical profession compared to others?
If people take it strictly and governments enforce all commissions paid by centres in medical services the fraud by doctors will come to an end.
