Early Decemeber 2012 i contacted the company for replacement of countertops with granite. They were able to do the work very quickly(within 3 days, maybe I should have been concerned ). Originally it looked great, but within the first few days I noticed that water left for a few minutes would stain the top. It would eventually fade, but it seemed very odd and i have had granite in three other kitchens. I went out of town for a week and when i came back i noticed a stain from a pan that had been left on the granite. This one did NOT fade, so i called the owner but received no call back, so I called again the next day and left another message telling him i was concerned about the staining, Again i did not receive any call back! So i waited three days to see if he would call back and heard NOTHING, at that point I cancelled the check. Surprise once he realised what I had done he called back, 11 days after my original call. He has refused to deal with the issues and claims the tops were fully sealed. I have a kitchen with new granite that stains with just about anything, liquid, grease, water!

EV: It's passé to worry about what cabinets are made of. If you like the way they look, don't worry about whether they are particle board or real wood. Believe me, unless there are water leaks to the cabinets, it won't ever make a difference. Particle board is cheap and in my experience, holds up fine...just don't drench it with water. I remember how my dad used to complain about "borax furniture" in the early 1960's. That was because he grew up in an era where everything was made from real wood. They used to use the phrase "solid oak!" . That phrase was pertinent back in the day when you bought furniture once in a lifetime...unless you were a Rockefeller. It had to last your entire life. Today... not so important to most people. Everything is throwaway. Get with it.

I have been ripped off by this guy too. He sold me cabinets of poor quality, particle board etc. He originally advertised them as "American made, quality" cabinets. When I recieved them and saw they were junk, I tried to return them. "Perry" would not take them back saying "no refunds, " and if iinsisted he would charge $600 as a "re-stocking"' fee. This guy is a piece of work.
@Rarely Complain, I would be inclined to consider your response if I did'nt know first hand how this snake operates.

There are all types of granite and its the luck of the draw what you get. Some is easily stained even when "sealed." Some is resistant. You really have no way of knowing. This is the reason we don't have granite. It's a natural product and because of that, there is no guarantee what you are getting. That by the way, is why you never leave stuff sitting on it. Granite is not practical. Use manmade stuff because its substance can be controlled to a great degree. And, its cheaper.
