Best Price Moving And Storage Will not Delivery my things

On 3/17/09 I was given a estimate of the phone to have my things delivered to Oregon from Michigan from Best Price Moving and Storage of $2016.00. On 3/30/09 they came and loaded my things and quoted me a new cost that was more accutrate of $2316.00. I made an initial deposit of $342.72 and when they came to pick up another of $850.00. Then they called and said I would owe another $2310.88 and it was downhill from there. Once I asked to have it re-weighed once it gets to Oregon and made another $1100.00 payment to schedule my delivery, they "lost my payment" even after I sent the cashed receipt of my payment and would not deliver, so then they wanted to charge me for them having to wait to deliver and the truck driver had the nerve to say that the lost payment was my problem and if I did not pay what he said we would also have to pay for lodgeing and food for him and his crew while we figured it out. In the end they found it and offered us nothing for the hassel and since I was hung up on 21 different times (I actually counted) and I still do not have my stuff and if I do not pay they will not deliver so I will also not be able to re-weigh it unless I want to sue and wait a year for ALL of my things! So I am stuck. They said they would delivery it next week if I have their payment ready so I guess I have to pay and pray my things are in OK condition. I am just in tears!

Well my things were finally delivered and it was not easy and I had to pay what they asked as they threatened us and would not allow us to have our things re-weighed if we wanted our things...Pictures are just a FEW

I had similar problems with Best Price. It even took months to get someone on the phone to get a date for my delivery, and then they never showed up. Finally I had to get an attorney to get my things and had a number of items missing. I thought that was the worst of it, but then several months later I learned my identity had been stolen and there were bank accounts, credit cards, cell phones and more that were opened with my stolen documents. It was bad enough trying to get my things back, now I am trying to get my life and credit back. I shouldn't have been surprised when none of the movers spoke english...

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!

Best Price Moving & Storage is a nasty, sleazy, rip off company that no one should do business with ever. They will lose/steal and break your belongings. I moved from Chicago to Phoenix with them and it was a nightmare.
It took longer than I expected for my things to arrive at my new house so I tried to call someone to ask about it. I could not get a hold of anybody because all I got was disconnected numbers and the email address on their website is not real. Imagine having everything you own on a truck somewhere and you call to check on it and find the number has been disconnected.
I guess I'm lucky that the majority of my belongings made it to Phoenix in one piece but I had exactly one box of personal things that I took the time to write BREAKABLE in great big letters on and [censored] if they didn't drop it and shatter what was inside. It wasn't anything with monetary value but it was irreplaceable things some of which I have had since childhood.
They wont unload the truck until you pay them and they wont even let you see your stuff unless you pay them.
Also I never received my microwave, blender, and a box of car parts from a 55 Chevy. I don't know if that stuff was lost or stolen but its difficult to replace parts on a car that old, they were all original.
I filed a claim but to no avail, they decided that my missing and broken stuff wasn't even worth an apology.
F*ck you Best Price Moving & Storage. I hope your company shuts down in the worst of ways so that you can't do this to anyone else.

I used these charlatans in Febuary 2007 to move from Ohio to Arizona. They quoted me $1200 first, then it went up to $2500 a month later which was still the cheapest price. We agreed to have them move us. The day they came they didn't bring a large enough truck so I had to leave a third of a garage full of personal items and my master bed and mattress was taken apart and strapped to the back of the truck or I would have had to leave that too.
A semi shows up 2 day later than what they quoted me in Arizona. I asked what happened to my truck and he said he had no idea what I was talking about. I called them only to have them explain to me that instead of bringing my stuff directly to me the drove to Chicago and put my stuff in a warehouse then loaded it on the semi to bring it to Arizona. I never agreed to that and they said it was a direct trip when I was on the phone with them getting the quotes.
The semi truck driver then tells me that I owe $14, 386 and he won't open the trailer till he get the money. I had to eventually succumb and pay the man so I could get my stuff. The crew that showed up came in an old SUV that I don't think made it back to wherever they came from. It was a crew of 5, only 2 spoke english, and 3 of them quit half way through unloading the truck.
My stuff looked exactly like the pictures above. Every piece of furniture I had was scratched, dented or damaged beyond use. I had 4 DVD players and over 400 movies, all my DVD players were missing as well as about 100 movies and the movies were clearly gone through and closed back up. In total I had 5 pages of items that were scratched, dented, completely broke, or just plain stolen grand totaling over $7000. After I took pictures and made the list and sent it to them they offered me $300 as compensation.

NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!

Best Price Moving And Storage Worst Nightmare - Misled

I wish I had read these negative reviews sooner. This move has been an absolute nightmare, and it continues to this day. Brian Slater, the sales person I spoke with was very pleasant. I didn't know he was also a liar. He said that everything would be included in my quote (less the weight of my stuff if it was heavier than what I thought). Turns out if you sneeze the wrong way, they charge extra. This costing me hundreds (and counting) more than what they originally said...but that's the least of my complaints. After 11 business days, I finally received a call from the movers saying they were going to be delivering my stuff (it was supposed to be delivered in 5-7 business days). No call, no show. I had re-arranged my day just so I would be available for the delivery. SO UPSET. I spoke to about 7 people who all did not take any responsibility. Furthermore, they wanted to charge me an additional $230 for a shuttle fee because their 18 wheeler semi couldnt fit around the corner. All in all, my original quote was $1200. By the end of it, I'm paying $1700, and God knows what else they will choose to charge me for next since my stuff is STILL not here. Today makes the 17th day. Please, do not put yourself through this nightmare if you can help it. Their staff are liars, theives, and they DO NOT CARE about their customers.

Best Price Moving And Storage Lost boxes/damaged items

Best Price Moving was brokered by Nationwide Relocation Services to move my items from MI to IL. They are unethical and lie. They lost several boxes (how do you lose boxes in 2 days when supposedly mine was the only load on the truck? The lied about using boxes for packing that they didn't and damaged items and all this is "not their fault because a friend of mine signed the paperwork they threw in front of him not knowing what he was signing and they didn't speak English so they didn't explain to him what it was for). They took advantage of knowing I wasn't there to watch them.

Then, they lied about weighing my items as they are legally supposed to do and overcharged me for the weight. I knew what it was since I'd moved recently before and they only refunded that money when I demanded they weigh my items with me present. It 800 pounds less.

Never use them and learn from what I unfortunately had to learn.

I ended up buying a membership called prepaid legal. They have helped me even though I am STILL dealing with Best Price who are just horrible. Something to keep in mind too the longer they have your things the worse condition they will be in. By the time I got my things I was shaking it was in such bad condition. I wish I had called the cops while they were there and forced them to unload my things before I paid them anymore. The driver was very hostile and everything was busted and sideways and falling all over and missing. I do not mean to make you nervous but just something to think about. I wish I told them to fly a kite and keep my things with the way that they delivered them. It was awful. Anyways Prepaid Legal is a good why to avoid being taken advantage of by companies like these. Let me know if you would like my reps info. Good Luck

I'm going through the EXACT same thing with North America Transfer out of Simi Valley, CA. They more than doubled our moving bill AFTER they collected our things. Now, my wife and I are stuck trying to figure out what to do, as we have some really important items that are in their possession. We were quoted $1275 and now they want $4500. Called FCMSA and AMSA who are both trying to help, but we're seriously consider telling them to keep our [censored] and not fork over another dime on sheer principle alone. Who knows, they may never show up anyway.

If anyone has any experience with how to avoid being screwed, please let me know!

Yes this response is all true and my issue is the same and on going with Best price Moving and storage. They have my things hostage since March and will not take my calls and want more and more money. I have all the details if needed:

I am currently in the process of trying to move from Michigan to Oregon (by the way we will still be listening to you guys!)...Anyways, my husband and I hired a moving Company: Best Price Moving and Storage. They are currently holding our things hostage and they have had our things since March. They quoted about $2100.00 over the phone. When the guys came to move our things they adjusted this quote to about $2300.00. I understand these are estimates from "professionals" so I figure add another 10% just in case. They have since lost our payments even after proof of cashing was sent to them. They have hung up on us 21 (seriously!) times. Their driver was supposed to make a delivery 5/20/09 and the driver said we need to pay our entire balance again because a lost payment is not their problem and if he gets there and we do not pay we will also be charged lodging and food for him and his crew until we pay. Needless to say we did not pay and therefore all our stuff was moved off their truck and back into storage for additional fees. I have asked to have this delivery rescheduled. They said we need to pay them another $1200.00 more then the 2300.00 we have already paid them or they will not deliver our things. They now are saying our weight was that much off their estimate. They will not answer our calls. They will not let us re-weigh when they get to Oregon. They will not let us know what storage unit our stuff is in so that we can have a police officer go over there and verify our things are even in storage and in good condition. At this point we have said we will do what ever we have to in order to get them to deliver our things. They are saying they will not let us look at our things or re-weigh or unload until we pay. OK so we will have to I guess. We can not do anything. I am reading so many reviews of people that have gone through this with this co. It is like dealing with High School kids that have everything that you own so what recourse do you have other then to give them what they want to HOPE you get your things!

What was the price quote and weight Nationwide gave you, and what was the Weight and Price Best Price gave you. If possible can you post the Price Quote and Bill of Lading that was given to you and we can help you figure how to get your money back to you so people don't think your a fake person posting slander about this company. We are trying to keep this review site reputable.
