This is in response to the comment from (iwillgetmine.) First of all, we took the deposit in question over the phone and in good faith that you had authorization for usage of the credit card. We were then contacted and advised by Evelyn Slaughter that you had in fact “fraudulently” used her credit card. Ms. Slaughter informed us she had reported the card stolen and requested a refunded. To date a full refund has been issued. As for the slanderous comments from Randal Slaughter aka iwillgetmine aka I wish I knew, are not valid and the facts have been misconstrued. We are an upstanding company and are registered with the State of Arizona.

Thank you,

In response to your comment (JGC.) When you purchase assets of a company, you purchase the stock. In this case engine blocks, office supplies, and a backlog of work. We do not have any affiliation with “Best Engine Exchange” or “Let’s Make A Deal” under the management of Aaron Arietta, Roman, or Dennis. As far as having some of the same employees, their expertise has played an important role in the expansion of our business. We sympathize with your situation and we understand your frustration. However, please try to understand our side. We did not build your engine, nor have we received any monetary compensation from you. Again, we are Engines Rx, not “Best Engine Exchange” or “Let’s Make A Deal.” Feel free to call us at [protected] or email us at enginesrx@qwestoffice.net.

Thank you,
Management

If you are not affiliated with Best Engine Exchane, then why are the same employees working at EngineRX? If you purchase a businesses assets you purchase all of it, even the warranties.

I called in today to the Engines RX number (finally I found the damn number to reach them because of this complaint board) and TAMMY had told me that the owner died and it messed up the company somehow so they couldn't grant my five warranty I had on my engine. Only using the engine for maybe a five months, I had it towed to a shop after it gave out on the freeway, they said that something was loose in the engine. I told them not to touch it because it was under warranty, but now it looks like I'll have to go spend way more money than I should have to and ask them to repair it. About four months ago I had noticed something wrong with the engine, and we called them at his point too. They were still in Mesa at the time. I spoke with a woman who said she was going to have Rachel cal me back on the matter and she never did. They also never answered my calls after that point. I want to help get this whole family behind bars and am willing to do so however I can. CierraHuff@gmail.com

We took our engine to Best Engine Exchange 8223 E. Mesa, Az 85207 in March, we were quoted $995.00 for a complete rebuild. After two weeks they wanted to charge another $175.00 because they told me the engine I brought them was different then what they thought. From that point on everytime I called they said the engine was still at the machine shop and would be done in 3 days. That went on for 25 days. Then I was told they broke the head and had to replace the crank. I spoke to Roman on April 13th, he said it would be done on the 15th for sure, if it wasn't done they would take $150.00 off. I went to Best Engine to pick up my engine on April 16th from Prescott, AZ and it still wasn't back from the machine shop. Then they charged me another $125.00 for the crank, but they would ship it to my house for "free". Engine never ran right after installed. Friday, October 30th I lost the #1 cylinder no compression. We called [protected] # is disconnected. justincluff@gmail.com

Best Engine Exchange Bad service

On February 11, 2017, I purchased a re manufactured engine for my 1995 Dodge Caravan from a business then known as Cash and Carry Engine Exchange, then located at 1716 West Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ 85202. I was told the warranty would be 5 years and unlimited mileage. I specifically inquired as to the warranty terms if installed by the consumer and was told the warranty would remain in effect so long as maintenance records were retained. I purchased the engine from this business because time was of the essence and the owner, known as Roman, indicated he had the engine in stock and could deliver it the following day. I then paid in full for the engine and awaited delivery. The following day I had not heard from the establishment, and when I contacted them, I was told there was a problem and the engine would be ready the following day. This pattern continued for eight consecutive days, until the engine was finally delivered. Two days after installing the motor, a freeze plug blew out of it and left me stranded. I contacted the establishment and advised them of the breakdown. Roman indicated he would have the vehicle towed for repairs. Four days later, I was told the vehicle was ready, but when I arrived to pick it up, Roman advised me I owed him for the repair and the tow bill. I refused to pay the bill, as the fault was within the engine build, and not the installation. After two thousand miles, the engine began making a loud ticking sound. I contacted Roman and brought the vehicle to his repair facility to have him observe the noise for himself and to have the problem corrected. Roman advised me that since I installed the engine, he would have to charge me $65.00 to have his mechanic step out to the front of the office and listen to the engine, to which I refused. He then indicated that if I removed the engine and returned it to him he would honor the warranty. On June 2, 2017, I removed the engine and attempted to return it to Cash and Carry Engine Exchange. However, upon arrival to 1716 West Broadway Road, Mesa, I discovered the business was no longer there, having a landlord eviction notice being posted in the window of their former business office. I later learned that Roman was now doing business at 19 E. Broadway in Mesa, under the business name Best Engine exchange. I contacted Roman there, and advised him of my intent to return the engine for warranty repairs. He responded by stating that he remembered me as the guy who wouldn't pay the tow bill, called me a "liar, " and stated that he was "through talking to me."

I persisted at the business office and was greeted then by a gentleman calling himself Aaron. After explaining the situation, he advised he would have his engine builder look at it and he would call me on Friday (June 6.) He then had two Hispanic employees lift the engine out of the back of my truck and hand carry( the 600 lb engine) into the building. I then requested a receipt for the return of the engine, and was given a work order stating that I had returned a "core" engine. (This is the term used in engine rebuilding for a damaged / inoperable engine in need of rebuilding). Aaron refused to specify on the receipt that this was in fact their newly rebuilt engine, I suspect in an attempt to make the receipt appear as though I was in fact returning my original inoperable engine. I then personally wrote on the receipt that it was the rebuilt engine being returned for warranty work. On June 6, I received no call from anyone at the business by noon, so I attempted to contact him there by telephone. However, each of my repeated telephone calls were either put on hold and then hung up, or I was told no-one was available to speak to me.

In doing research on this company, I have discovered that the individual known As "Roman, " who claims to own and operate this business, is selling inferior rebuilt engines and is building them with poorly or untrained employees. (Aftyer disassembling the motor later at a credible machine shop, I discovered cheaply made gaskets, leaking freeze plugs and fender washers on 4 of the 16 head bolts.)

He has had numerous complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau, but is not a member. He does not respond to the complaints, rather, he exhausts his consumer base and then changes locations and business names and begins the cycle again. (He was evicted from his address at 1716 W. Broadway, as evidenced by my photographs of the landlords notice of eviction for failure to pay rent.)

His most recent business name was "Cash and Carry engine exchange, located at 1716 W. Broadway road Suite #101 in Mesa.

Aftyer 8 days, Roman advised me there was no problem with the engine and wanted $300 to reassemble the heads.

I took it to a reputable machine shop, where we disassembled the engine and found that the number 4 piston had been improperly assembled, causing the piston to be unable to rotate freely on the piston pin, causing damage to the piston and the cylinder wall.

this company is an absolute fraud. They have been doing this scam for years. Thus far, they have operated in Mesa under BEST ENGINES, LETS MAKE A DEAL, and now ENGINES RX. Rachel (ringleader) plaYS ALL NICE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE, UNTIL SHE GETS YOUR DEPOSIT! She has trained her daughter Erika quite well in the art of lying and steeling. I got sooooo lucky. I had my vehicle towed to them from northern AZ, and tryed to arrange an After-Hours drop off, well, EricA, gave me a bogus phone number, and when I tryed to call the # to arrange for them to let me in the yard (hence was told they live 10 minuites away) there was a guy who told me that I had the wrong number. Therefore, I tryed to Google the company name, and NOTHING came up but this COMPLAINT BLOG. I called my tow drived back immeaditly, and had my truck dropped at a frinds house rather than at Rachels pretend auto repair shop. I finally reached Lisa off of an e-mail, and she had told me, "My mother Rachel reciently purchased the business in September from the old owner who was a non-professional business man, and these COMPLAINERS (me and others on this page) are just upset because ENGINES RX (Rachel) is not honoring the other owners warrenty obligations." LOL! My response to Erica was, funny, if your mom Rachel purchased the business back in September, how com there are complaints on here that were posted 8 days ago saying the same thing I am saying? She couln't answer my question. People, there are now 30 or so of us that have been "took" by this family, and enough is enough. I have been informed that the attorney General is aware, but we need to make him completely aware. WE also need to get together and file a class acton lawsuit so some of us can reclaim our losses, and we can prevent these people from defrauding anymore hard working Americans. I fortunately pais with my debit card, and now the fraud department will be getting involved from Bank of America, so possibly these people will be facing FEDERAL FRAUD charges. Please contact me at www.kmassey1982@yahoo.com or on my cell at [protected] Also, this time these people screwed with a person that has nothing to loose, and knows and runs with some very scary and intimidating individuals that will not give up until he sees his $900.00 deposit back! what I have in my corner as well as that these people never saw, or touched my truck, and I never signed anything. One way or another, I will get my money back, that is, if these people dont run back to mexico before me or my people get ahold of them. Please contact me, and lets get thes people out of our state and out of business. Thank You

My dealings with "Best" Engines and now Engine Exchange have been less then admirable. Perhaps Mike Val would like to explain his connection with Best Engines as he seems to be defending them(see the multiple comments). Have you purchased an engine from them? If so, what type and when? Are you an employee or are you an owner? While Nigel is correct about the race issue. I think his attitude toward the business would be different if he had spent the money and had to listen to the excuses that us the customers have had to endure. In my situation, I have had to hear that the mechanics that I had install my rebuilt engine didn't know what they were doing, yet all the cars that they install other companies engines into are still running. I have had my car in their shop three times, each time they tried to charge me and still the engine blew. In respond to Mike Val's comment, I would like to know how many engines they sell and to whom, if the customers are reputable repair shops the shops should have no problem stepping up, since the product they are selling is so great. I would recommend that Best/Engine Exchange provide us, the consumers, a list of their customers that could give us glowing recommendations. Perhaps, I would feel better knowing that "we" are the their "few" mistakes. And to Best/Engine Exchange, I AM NOT GOING AWAY AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THERE IS JUSTICE!

Why did you find it necessary to specify the race of the employees that hand carried your engine? The description of the said employees, in this case, is irrelevant. Do you always say, for example, these 2 Hispanic guys, or these 2 Black guys, or these 2 White guys, or these 2 Pacific Islander guys, or these 2 Asian guys, etc. when you speak about anyone? Why must you point out the different races of people? Is it in order to make yourself appear the superior? (This is true for ANYONE out there reading this.) Again, the description of the said employees had absolutely nothing to do with your story.
Also, I doubt that your Caravan engine could weigh 600 pounds. A small block chevrolet weighs 575 pounds WITHOUT accessories, so I cannot believe that your V-6 or 4 cylinder engine weighs 600 pounds. Did you take the engine AND transmission assembly for them to inspect? I understand that you're upset with these dishonest and incompetent dirtbags, but please be accurate in your descriptions, it tends to discredit your story somewhat. And please, just stick to what is relevant next time.
Thanks for letting me put in my two cents. Have a great day. (-:

I strongly disagree being the fact that it is a rebuilt longblock and still using exsisting parts. As long as I have been a mechanic I have seen there are some coustomers that will buy whatever else is needed to make the car work right. This sounds like a coustomer that wants everything to be working fine with all the old parts. Wich probably never told the new shop what his existing problems were. I do feel bad for the mechanic shops that have to take this kind of slander with the coustomers who dont know what they are talking about.
