dangerous stove top - shoots 10"-12" flames - they won't respond
My husband and I purchased a benchmark home on 10/31/2014. The stove top has always been very hot and had very high orange flames. It has always been this way, but I was inexperienced in propane stoves. A home inspection concluded they likely did not install the proper conversion kit or regulators for the propane. I have called twice and been very clear this is a health and safety issue but was only allowed to leave a message. They never returned my call. I also emailed them including a photograph of flames - again NO RESPONSE AT ALL.
Poor customer relations—difficult to get items under warranty repaired
We bought a Benchmark home in Clovis, CA and the office manager Diane was very difficult to deal with once the papers were signed. We needed some generic information about the house as we came from another state and she was very unkind and refused at first to give us the information. Their loan officer at Home Street Banking was very unorganized and continually asked for information up until the day of signing the loan. Mike Byron their Customer Relations Manager is very unreliable and in a two month period was a no show to five appointments without an email, text or phone call to cancel. We have tried to have a short list of repairs taken care of for over 8 months--half of them were either done incorrectly or not at all. Also, Mike tries to blame the home owner for many problems that existed when the house was purchased and he does not follow through with the problems you contact him about. Our neighbors have the same issues we do. The homes are built with the cheapest materials and appliances.
