Bench Craft Company scorecard advertising

They provide false numbers to make it seem like advertising with them will increase business. But, in reality you waste your time and money. They never provided the final scorecard proof, only a copy of what I had sent them. So, I actually do not even know if my ad is really on there. I have not received one lead from 3 campaigns running simultaneously in 8 months. Company rep was standoffish and even stated, "Do you expect them to just drop their club to run and call you?" He also stated this is a word of mouth campaign, I do not like that?

Bench Craft Company golf course advertising

This company only cares about making a sale, at the cost of everything else. They accept 0 responsibility for errors on their end and do not make reasonable efforts to resolve issues. As an established business who advertised for 3 years through Benchcraft, I would not recommend advertising at any golf course through this company. Once they have your Credit Card number they cease to provide customer service to get your ad placed accurately and properly.

An issue arose on a purchase of over $1, 000 and despite a call back to the company on the same day they processed the credit card payment they refused to make any corrections or reasonable accommodations to resolve the issue stating the contract says no cancellations. They stated the transaction was Business to Business so there is no grace period allowed for cancellation.

This business will no longer be placing ads that are sold through Benchcraft.

Bench Craft Company advertising to golf courses

Reviews help potential problems...
This is my worst experience with any advertising company to date.
The sales person that sold me on Benchcraft has been let go. They over charged me $750.00 and still haven't refunded it. In fact they are arguing with me in saying I approved the charge yet I have 3 contracts for $750.00 not 4. I agreed to the first golf course guide for $750.00 the sales person called me back soon after with another similar offer at another course for $750.00 and soon after that the third call and email was for 2 courses for $750.00. They charged me for 4 at $750.00.
The sales person said the guides will be going out in May, we are in September and they still haven't been received by all of the golf courses. The size of all of my adds were suppose to be at least business card sized but some were smaller and near impossible to read. I was promised hard copies 2 months ago and haven't received them. They offered me comps for next year to make up for the issues and today I was told if I go after the $750.00 to forget the comps. I will not stop posting the truth about Benchcraft until I get results. I don't think they are deliberately scamming people but they are very broken and the sinking hole is getting deeper and deeper. Words of advice... "Never be dragged down with a sinking ship."

Bench Craft Company golf bench advertising promotion

The worst advertising decision I have ever made in my life. I originally agreed to a one year term of one bench for $375. Now I find out that I "signed up" for a two year term and only paid the initial $375 and another $375 is now due for the crummy bench from which I have received zero business. Very, very low life marketing company and I will never do any business with Bench Craft again.

Bench Craft Company s-c-a-m

If you ever get in their system, they will scam you. Here's what happened:
I placed an order for a golf course ad course guide (which was stupid in the first place) for which I paid $375 last year. Then back in May, some slickster calls me (and it's always after hours like 6 or 7pm) and rolls off some stuff about my artwork blah blah blah. I'm thinking they are just making some kind of final adjustments or something. Then I get a text that my card was charged $375. I called customer service and eventually got the most rude and arrogant little piss ant I've ever dealt with. Here's an example: I said "You'd better refund my card now" and he replied "Or what?" After some very hot word were exchanged, he refunded the amount. THEN later on June 30 I get a call from them again...same fast and slick talk. As soon as I hung up I got another text...this time $750. Called and spoke to "Ryan". He assured me I had agreed to it but that they were only supposed to charge me $375. I told him...refund the $750, and if you can show me proof where I agreed to this I will pay the $375. I know for a FACT that I did NOT agree to this. So...we will see if he actually does what he said. Do NOT do business with these guys. Once they get your card number they try to slide other crap on there. TERRIBLE company with a motive to SCAM.

Bench Craft Company failure to follow through

I wish I had known about the complaints previously against Benchcraft! We paid $750 for ads at 2 different golf coursesin our area to appear in their guides in Aug of 2013. Tried for 6 months beginning in April to get somewhere with them after we found out the guide was not at the local course (for WHATEVER reason, never did get a clear answer as to what happened, they said one thing, golf course said another) and finally was promised a refund in November 2015. When it didn't show on my credit card in 28 days i filed a dispute since it was charged on our credit card, which they contested and i am still fighting with them to get my money back.. as others have said THEY ARE A SCAM I may never see the money but I will keep trying and make sure i spread it ALL over the internet as well as contacting Attorney Generals in Oregon and Georgia.

Bench Craft Company advertising scam

When Bench Craft called me asking me to advertise through them, I agreed. This was only because they told me that I would be the ONLY landscaper advertised with my local golf course. After seeing that there were three other landscapers advertised, I double checked the written contract sent in the mail AFTER the phone call. It states that this contract contains the complete agreement and any verbal agreements, Bench Craft is not bounch by. Then, it states electronic counterpart acceptane is effective in lieu of signature. However, I did not agree to this contract. This is a scam. I'm sure they tell every person that they will be the only doctor, lawyer, ice cream shop, etc. advertised, and then change the terms of the contract/agreement. I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company.

Bench Craft Company $395 collected; no service provided

I paid $395 to sponsor a course guide at Duckers Lake Golf Resort in Frankfort, KY, on March 9, 2012. I finally received a proof, but I h ave not seen a final product, and was told on June 26, 2012 that we would have a sample of the final product within ten days. On August 6, 2012 we were told the company is awaiting final approval from Duckers before beginning the print job. If this were a legitimate business service, it would have been completed in time for the begining of golf season, which at the latest, is May 1, 2012.

I would like my $395 refunded. I intend to contact the Attorneys General in both Kentucky and Oregon, the home state for Bench Craft.

Bench Craft Company unethical billing practices

Our company was contacted in 2010 to place an ad through Bench Craft Co. We decided to go ahead an place an ad. Bench Craft double charged our credit card and it took many, many calls and about 6 months in order for them to take off one of the charges. They contacted us again in 2011 to replace the ad. Since I am not the one making the decisions, I told the rep that I would ask the owners if they wanted to place the ad again. The rep said that he would go ahead and send me the contract to sign. I never received the contract and the owners did not want to place the ad. I did not authorized the company to go ahead with the ad. After receiving our credit card statement 3 weeks later, Bench Craft charged us for the ad. The charge was the same day of the call. I called the company to let them know that we did not want to place the ad and was put on hold for over 30 minutes, then miraculously was put to their voice mailbox. I called back again to speak with management and was placed on hold for a while again. I finally gave up trying to dispute the charge directly through the company and will try another route. I am sure it will take another six months to reverse the charge. READ THE OTHER COMPLAINTS! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Bench Craft Company what a scam!!!

I was contacted by a representative of Benchcraft golf cards in November of 2010 and he said he was selling spaces on a local golf course score card for the up comming winter season here in Florida. I went to the local golf course and looked at one of the cards and decided this might not be a bad idea being the location of the golf course was very close to my charter fishing business, WHAT A VERY BAD IDEA IT DID TURN OUT TO BE! They took my $375, had me sign a contract. I than submitted and business card for them to use as my ad. Couple weeks later I got a proof of my ad in the mail which I O.Ked for print. Our busy season here in Florida starts in Febuary. I returned to the golf course in February to see if my ad had been put into the scorecard, which it had not been. I called Benchcraft to see what to hold up was and OMG you have never seen such a run around, an hour later somethere was able to locate my account and said the cards were on the way. I returned to the gold course in March still no scorecards and called again, same runaround again and was told they are on the way. I returned to the golf course in April still no scorecard mind you six months later after they took my money! Season is now over for Florida. I called yet once again and was told again that they were on the way by this time I was seeking legal advice. In August I once again went to the golf couse to see if the scorecards were in where I was informed by the owner of the course that I was not the only person who had shown up looking for their ad. The owner informed me also that he had personally called himself and got the same runaround, than decided to discontinue all business with Benchcraft because now they are giving his golfcourse a bad name also by misrepresenting him as a legitmate business owner. A week later I was informed that the scorecards had finally showed up with my ad but unfortunatley he was not putting them on the carts any longer being he contracted another company to publish his new scorecards but would hand them out to people who did visit the golf course looking for information. End of story! I wished I had read this complaint section first before I sent these CROOKS my money. I hope this complaint helps someone else before they are a victim of the same FRAUD that I was.

I have the same story to tell. I paid them over $1000 for 3 ads at two different golf courses. The books have never made it to either golf course. I too have been given the run around and when I push them for answers they hang up on me. This company is a joke! They do not understand customer service. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS COMPANY!

Bench Craft Company fraudulent business practices

BEWARE of SCAM ! I verified the information by the salesperson with the Authorized agent of the Golf course and he could not verify the information promised to me by the Benchcraft salesperson. Benchcraft very misleading regarding the # of pieces to be printed. As I pressed the salesperson he outright lied giving me a "reasonable" explination. That was verified by the Clubs agent to be incorret and FALSE as well.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY ! BEWARE of SCAM!

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I was looking for a new job and got an email from Benchcraft. I went to the interview, and was made a bunch of promises. I started work the following week. When I would make calls, I actually had to read from a script. This is not selling, an 8 year old could do this job. They would have us lie to customers to try and get the deal done. We were told to say we only have a few spots left so you need to do it right now. You will be the only business of this type on the scorecards, when in actuality the whole card might be full of the same types of businesses. If the cards even ever got printed. I felt worse about the job and loosing my integrity everyday I worked. I quit after a couple of days. Funny story though, they actually hired a new guy the same day as me. He stayed for about a week longer than me, but was fired for not having a sale for a day and a half. This is a joke company full of unethical people. A good company will not harass you or say if you don’t do it today, then you can’t ever get it. Take the time to do some research before investing $400-$500 for them to do absolutely nothing. Thats another thing we could sell the ads for $399 all day long, but we made more money if we sold them for $499. If you are going to use this company, and I dont know why you would, at least make sure you get the ad for $399.

Bench Craft Company misleading

The caller left a voicemail with a phone number that did not match the caller ID. He said it was regarding a project at golf course. We are a painting company, so the obvious assumption is that they were calling for a painting project.
I returned the call and the person answered simply "Bench Mark". This set off a red flag immediately. Our company wasted our money on them in [protected] for advertising that never happened. I confirmed the nature of the call which had nothing to do with painting. I told the Bench Mark representative that I don't appreciate the misleading voice mail and that there is no way we would ever do business with their company again. I told him that I don't want to receive any calls from them in the future.
His response was that there is no legal requirement for a "Do Not Call" list for business to business calls, therefore they do not keep a list. I asked him why that is when other businesses keep such lists as a courtesy to other businesses. He repeated his comment about no legal requirement.
I find it amazing that they will continue to contact businesses that they have already ripped off in the past.

Obviously this company is a ripoff, scamming small businesses, who are looking to increase their bottom line. It's really pretty pathetic and twisted that a plethora of ### allege they sell ad spaces both in magazines and on scorecards, only to rip off people that are actually providing a service. These are the kinds of sleazy salesmen that need street justice, and broken pelvic bones, to teach them a lesson. I got the call this morning, and was suspicious, since I run an entertainment company and the golf course in question does NOT have a club house to hold events. Secondly, the caller id and number given did not match. Third, the caller ID gives the impression that they are 'benchmark.com' a reputable furniture company.

I will be doing the following: posting what ### these jerks are on my blog, and to 900 facebook followers.
Then I will contact benchmark.com, and get THEM to take legal action against these guys for misrepresentation, and after that, every time some nitwit telemarketer calls to offer house repairs, my new phone number they will be referred to shall be: [protected].
let the losers who telemarket scams hassle each other.

Bench Craft Company scam artists

There is a company located in Portland that is a total scam, ruining the lives and dreams of people everywhere. Bench Craft's owner, Charlie Cobb, makes a very nice living off hurting others. He steals thousands of dollars off people's credit cards offering advertisement that doesn't exist on golf courses that do exist. He offers seemingly inexpensive advertisement space. He puts families out of business on a regular basis. Here is someone who will do anything for a buck, and doesn't care who he hurts while doing so. Also, if you don't want to work for a tyrant, this is not the place to go. Bench Craft is known for their cruelty towards employees, foul insults and violence take place in the office on a regular basis. This is ### central. This company should be shut down, but unfortunately they have a good attorney. The best way to protect business owners is by spreading the word. So please inform your friends and family, especially if they own a small business.

Bench Craft Company bad service

This lowlife pathetic company cold calls people trying to sell advertising on Golf Courses. They call REPEATEDLY, sometimes up to 3 times a day. Despite numerous demands to CEASE and DESIST, they continue to annoy and harass people. Apparently, that's how lowlife's resort to soliciting business. They have a C rating with the BBB and numerous complaints against them online. I wouldn't do business with such a ### operation if they were selling water in a desert.

Bench Craft Company false information

My experience was like many others before me and most likely many after me as well. I was solicited by Bench Craft for an inexpensive advertisement that seemed like a sure deal. In reality it was all just lies. I paid for4 years of "Bench" ads but was put on ball washers or a driving range bench when I was promised hole 1 and 2. Also I was promised a free year of bench ad for purchases the score card ad. I was never even put on the score card and only 3 months later was contacted to renew my Bench ad. When I asked about my free year I was told that associate doesn't work here and we cannot honor when he said even though I had a contract stating that my payment include the score card and bench ad. Luckily I always paid by check never debit or credit card. Thanks to reading some reviews, I knew they will automatically charge you without your consent. This company is heartless and will do or say anything to make a buck. I am honestly surprised any of them can sleep at night. I would strong advise anyone to not do any business with this company.

Bench Craft Company fraudulant sales practices

We started a new business in january 2010. early february 2010: Benchcraft Sold me advertising space on golf courses in central texas by phone. Told me they fund me at the chamber of san marcos. phone number from arlington tx.
When i bought in one golf course, was called several days later and offered a "deal" if I signed up for three courses for price of 2. Cc payment over the phone (they were pretty insistant on getting that done before any service was offered and we should have taken note of that !)
The same week I sent the graphics to their "art" deptmt trough the email provided. 2 weeks later, I was sent an email asking for the graphics. I told them they had it and asked when all this was going to be done since golfing season is starting soon. They told me next week the art dptment was going to finish proof ...
went down hill from there: I called a couple of time and pretty much got shut down when I started complaining. I then checked BBB (a bit late) in early april and found numerous complaints.
then got a letter showing the proof and telling me I had so many days to review. It is now may and still nothing. I called and told them to hurry up and get the stuff in place but i am not expecting anything from these scammers. I do not understand how they are in business with so many complaints over the whole country.
Let you local chamber now about these scammers !
The owner will probably start a new one after this one gets shut down: HE needs to get in jail !

Bench Craft Company processing credit card without authorization

I purchased a goft course ad in sept 2009 for 2010 year from the atlanta branch office, Travis Schug. He was very nice and very professional even though I received no business from placing this $375 ad at local cecil field golf course. The home office out of Portland, Steve (Stephen) called and wanted me to place a new ad that would carry me into the 2011 year. I specifically told him I needed to check with my partner before agreement. The guy said ok and hung up the phone. He then ran my credit card that they had on file and charged me for the ad. I called everyday for four days, speaking with Travis, another man in his office, then customer service, Steve and steve's boss Tim M. Travis' office and employees were very professional, Tim and Steve were not. Tim even laughed at me, Steve lied and said I gave him my credit card info, Tim stated that I cursed him, which I did not, but I did raise my voice, after the 6 phone call and continuing run around the office was giving me. Tim then stated they do not keep credit card information on file and I had to have given Steve the information. Then after getting Tim to say that he will then indeed give me a refund, (he never asked for my credit card information to submit the refund to-so that proves he has it on file and that he lied) he stated it would take 24 hours, so I told him I would call him tomorrow at exactly 24 hours, then it said it would take 24-48 hours and that I was being unprofessional. I told him to give me his credit card and let me charge unauthorized purchases to it. To get the refund I had to become unprofessional. I will never do business with this company again.

Bench Craft Company paid for advertising - never received

I'm a business owner who purchased advertising at a golf course with great hopes. Unfortunately, I never received any advertising or anything. I would frequent the golf course in search of my ball and my signs and to no avail! Although I occassionally found my ball.

Anyway, I spoke with the golf pro who told me how things work. Apparently, Bench Mark will provide FREE Benches if the golf course will have them place it at a tee or elsewhere. Then Bench Mark will find somebody to advertise and charge them (mine was 1700 bucks) for a year to have their sign out for that time. And supposedly under contract.

Anyway, my signage was never placed. For a year! I'm still fighting with them, but would encourage everyone to pay after the sign is out!
