Becker Animal Hospital & Pet Resort - Flea dip visit and nail cutting for my pet

On Wednesday, December 23, 2015, I called and scheduled a flee dip and nail cut for my Ole English Bulldog. After we picked him up, he got sick and with a cough and has been sick since that visit. I don't know if they mistreated him as well. He's seems traumatized since the visit. Please be careful when you take your pets there!

Becker Animal Hospital & Pet Resort - Malpractice

On January 3rd, 2014 I brought my 10 lb lap dog in after she was hit by a car. I found her on the side of the road, limp, after she was let out by an irresponsible mental midget of a housekeeper. I carefully picked her up and placed her in the lap of my friend who was in my passenger seat and arrived at Becker roughly 13 minutes later- even though it is usually 45 minutes away. Luckily, there was no traffic- and no police. I bring her into Becker, choke out the words that it is an emergency, and they bring her in the back to "stabilize her". All they did was give her pain meds, and not even enough to stop her pain spasms that had her screaming every 10 minutes. Then some Indian "doctor", Dr. Banga, who can barely speak English tells me that my beloved canine companion "Just walk bad way. Slip disc. No good. Never walk again." I explain to the guy that I found her on the side of the road, about 8 feet down a small hill that she must have rolled down a little bit. He assures me it is merely a slipped disc from walking the wrong way. I demand an x-ray, which Dr. Banga (and I use the term "doctor" very lightly) was very reluctant to do. He finally agrees and says "Dog also have broken pelvis. Probably from roll down hill. No car hit." Now, as you could imagine, I could not see very well through all the tears in my eyes. It was also about 1 A.M. and very dark. They refer me to a specialist for surgery on her pelvis so it could heal. After being assured over and over that my baby would never walk again, they gave me "the x-rays" and the address of the specialist. I immediately head over there with Snowy, my 10 year old (at the time, she's 11 now) 10 lb Maltichon. They take one look at the x-rays and tell me that there is nothing wrong with my dog and to leave. After arguing with them for a good half hour and being told to leave multiple times, they called Becker. It turns out, Becker sent over THE WRONG X-RAYS. Not only were the X-rays FROM 2012, but they were of A DIFFERENT DOG. NAMED PENELOPE. After examining the X-rays, the specialist showed me them. I, an untrained non-medical professional, immediately saw what the specialist was trying to show me. Not only did Snowy have a broken pelvis, but she ALSO had a BROKEN LEG clearly snapped in half that Banga missed! A broken leg that, because Banga can't read an X-ray, I SUPPORTED HER ON when I carried her! They then looked at her under a light, my eyes were dry now as I was given a minute to calm down, and there it was- a tire mark on her rear. If my vision wasn't blurry from the tears and distress, I would have seen it clear as day. But Banga was there with unaltered vision. Yet he claims she was not hit by a car. Then the specialist told me, word for word, "Dr. Banga is an idiot. For her pelvis to be broken from a fall, she would have to have fallen 4-stories." Then, the good news, the specialist told me that Snowy will make a full recovery. She will walk again. Which she is, by the way. She is walking perfectly fine.
So, now to deal with the evil doctor that screwed up the diagnosis, caused great distress by telling me she would never walk again, missed the broken leg, and then sent over the wrong x-rays which almost denied Snowy the treatment to save her therefore putting her life in danger. I drove up to Becker, turned on the "record" on my phone, and walked in. I asked to speak to a manager, I have a complaint. I was seen in about 15 minutes. I explained what had happened, the "manager" told me she would be right back. 45 minutes later she returns with the REAL manager. I then re-explain what had happened, and demanded a refund and compensation. I received the refund and was promised compensation and an apology from Banga. I called about a month later whilst waiting at my car dealership for them to finish the car wash and the manager I spoke to, John, said that he would have Banga call me as soon as he gets in. I asked about the compensation and after deflecting for a few minutes he had the audacity to say "I don't recall ever offering compensation." to which I replied: "Oh you don't? Really? Is that so? Well don't worry, I have you covered. I recorded it." after a short pause he said "Recorded what?" and I answered "Our conversation." he then asked "How much did you record?" and I told him "All of it. From the time I parked my car to the moment I got back in it." and he replied with a very disappointed sounding voice "Oh. Great." at which point in time, I got a $150 credit to use at Becker.

So, as if the staff aren't shady enough, here is the next part of the adventure.

On Christmas day I walk into Becker with my sister. We adopt a cat. They told us they had the cat for 2 weeks, that it was dewormed, that it was a boy and that his name is "Anjuelio". We adopted the cat only to find that she was in fact a girl. Really, Becker? 2 weeks and you still couldn't figure out that a vagina means female? She also had worms. We renamed her Athena. 3 days later we take her back to Becker to get dewormed. The lady behind the counter tells us that there is no record of the cat ever being there and no record of us adopting it. After about 30 minutes of arguing, the staff that opened the cage for us to take the cat home on Christmas finally said "Oh yeah, they were here on Christmas and adopted it." 5 minutes later, the lady FINALLY "sees the file."

The record keeping is a joke. I get anxiety every time I am forced to go there as it is the only 24 hour vet and the vet in Boerne, Herbst, is also run by people who's medical training consisted of nothing but countless hours of humping a doorknob.
I get so uneasy regardless of the poorly trained staff, the bad record keeping alone is enough to scare you to death!
You want grooming? They'll get confused and beat your animal with a hammer. A flea bath? They'll euthanize it.
I just want a safe place to bring my beloved canine companion to make sure she is okay and taken care of. But obviously that is too much to ask for.
