I got an really good estimate from NY to Cali for $1500 less than the closest competitor. So trying to save some money I decided to do business with them. BIG MISTAKE! I put a deposit down for 700 bucks (a reputable mover never asks for a deposit) they got here the day of the move and packed everything into there truck. AFTER everything was in there moving truck... they CHANGED there estimate and FORCED me to sign agreement papers. I refused! they said that they will sue me and take my belonging and force me to pay 200 bucks for every hour they were their and a additional fee for every box they used. The final estimate was MORE THAN TWICE the estimate. This is ILLEGAL! I ended up agreeing to pay them much more than what I would have paid a reputable mover. est went from $1250 to $3600. THIS IS ILLEGAL! they are not suppose to go 10% over there estimate.
What was I suppose to do? My flight leaves the next day and I am stuck. I had no choice but to sign and pay. BIG MISTAKE!
So I am at Cali waiting for my things in an empty apt... one week passes two week passes three weeks passes FOUR weeks passes. They said that my stuff would be there in one week. LIARS! LIARS! LIARS! I called every other day to check up. By the second week they said that my stuff was at Houston TX was on its way. LIARS! It was never there. When my stuff got there they insisted I pay money order or cash NO CASHIERS CHECK... WTF! this is BS i was so pissed. then the mover said that I had to pay an additional 300 buck to get my stuff into my new place. (I am so pissed). I paid reluctantly desperate to sleep on my bed. Most of my stuff arrived in one piece. there was damaged and missing furniture.
I was talking to the people unloading my stuff they said the manager asked them to lie when i called my stuff was never at Houston during second week it was in Brooklyn. wtf! IT DID NOT LEAVE NY until 5 days prior to coming to my place in Cali. Man so pissed.
I have been trying to get insurance clam since JUNE its NOV still have not received it. I have been calling everyday to try to speak to there Manager VICTOR but he NEVER returns my phone calls.
They promised me money for damages if i sign a paper with copy of my drivers licence. after faxing it to them they never sent me money owed.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I hired Beckens to move my son to Texas. I was quoted a price of 950. I have all the emails to prove their quotes. We were told originally that it would be “their” truck and they would label all the boxes with a scanner system and we would get a printout of the inventory. We sent them an inventory list prior to the move.
We were to meet them in the A.M. on a Saturday morning to weigh the truck in and then load up and weigh again.
Three men in a budget rental truck showed up 5 hours late and said they could not weigh in and they glanced at our inventory and said it would be about 1800.00.
They had no intentions of getting the truck weighed before and after they picked up our stuff even though Becken’s stressed that the price was to be calculated by weight. The driver told us that Beckens was just a broker and they outsourced the move to them.
We sent them on their way because I knew once they had our things, we would be at their mercy.
BEWARE OF LYING THIEVING MOVERS!
This company sets you up with a low ball estimate for a service it never provides but contracts out to some intimidating foreign thieves. The first of who came and created the drama of loading my stuff while re-figuring the estimate upwards. In this case Beckens sent Experienced Van Lines of Brooklyn New York. They hijacked the price from $1750.00 to $2400.00 and I had only three extra boxes from the inventory I gave Beckens to get the original quote. It gets worse. The Experienced Van lines crew refused to leave without a15% tip (they wanted twenty percent). It gets worse still. Experienced Van lines turned my goods over to Olga Van Lines of Brooklyn New York. They delivered my stuff three days after the promised delivery date. The Olga crew refused to give me my $25.00 change for the cash payment I made for the $75.00 I had to pay over and above the final balance because there were five more stairs than in the fine print of the contract. Den from Olga van Lines indicated the money would be kept as part of the gratuity he was asking for. They also left furniture disassembled.
There was not a moment that I did not feel threatened and intimated.
I never thought I would write a review for a moving company, but Across U.S.A. Moving really outdid themselves. My roommate and I were moving from an elevator building to a 2nd floor walk-up. I called Across U.S.A. Moving when I was price shopping and they immediately came in lower priced then most of the other people I spoke with. They assured me this would be quick and easy. The guys came on time as scheduled and wrapped all of my furniture in moving pads to assure no damage. They quickly moved everything to the new walk up in no time. In a word: WONDERFUL.
We moved to a 6th floor condo -- they had everything up there and in the correct room and our beds put together in 2.5 hrs. Professional, courteous, and all around wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend them! Love!
They completed the move with a great deal of professionalism. They worked as a team and were very efficient. They took great care with my furniture and were very pleasant to work with. They packed, loaded and transported everything and were very professional.
The company provides very good services i am completely satisfied from the services they provides. I asked to moving some of my goods, they took them 100% without any damages and stolen.
I prefer to go with them if you are in need for any movers.

finally an easy move!
I have moved many times in my life and it rarely ever seems to go as I would like/plan it too. Beckens Moving Company did everything so professionally, I was truly impressed with how everything went so smooth. The pickup was seamless, they were right on time, and very efficient. The delivery also went great, and of course, I counted all the items and made sure there were no damages

This company shouldn't be in business. They are unprofessional, have no concept of ethics, and usually subcontract work out to companies that have no credibility and are not qualified to do your move.
I am currently working with an attorney to file a lawsuit for misrepresentation and theft of my property with this company. They really do a disservice to their profession. I have worked with Joe Cohen from the NYC office, with Victor who is their manager from the California office, they are unprofessional and unfit to be in business. Do not work with Beckens moving.
