On 1 July 2010 I joined Be2 for a 6 mths membership, after not being able to access any real information from the Free trial aspect of the site. I put the membership onto my credit card. I was only signed up for a couple of days when I tried to cancel my membership because the same members where sent to me each day and most were from overseas not NZ as I thought they would be (give it is listed as a NZ site) and I suspected something was not right. The terms and conditions where hard to find and when I did find them they were contradictory and confusing. I am having ongoing communication with Be2 to cancel my membership (as no cancellation code came through when I tried to cancel my membership, which also made me suspicious as well). Although I want to get my money back (I would be happy to pay for the few days I did have a membership). The communication I am having with Be2 is less than satisfactory - polite but they are intent on taking my money not for the 6 months I signed up for BUT NOW they are claiming I signed up for a 1 year membership - what utter rubbish. ALARMS BELLS ARE RINGING. I have since found blogs stating Be2 is a scam - I wish I had found before I committed to the membership. This company has no integrity and I firmly believe this is a scam. I have yet to get any satisfactory solution from Be2. I plan to escalate to the legal authorities in my country now to investigate and to see if they can help me. I don't want others to have to go through this and if Be2 are a scam the world should know about it. Match dating site are becoming a normal way to meet new people in this busy world we live in. I have successfully met a number of gentlemen on other NZ sites and we have become good friends. I only tried Be2 because it is based on personality type. Be2 need to rethink their charging regime and the so called service they say they are providing - IF they are a legitimate service (which I doubt) they have a lot of improvements to make if they are to provide the quality successful service they are making claim to. I personally want others to be able to make informed choices and for me personally I want my money back and if Be2 is a fraudlent company for the authorities to have Be2 removed from the website and prosecuted to the fullest extend. If the 20, 000, 000 clients Be2 are all being ripped off and paying a couple hundreds each - it's a pretty good money spinner for someone. I am not happy to be a part of that scam.

Hi .. I really wish I had read these posts before signing up to Be2!
I signed up 7 days ago and I have subsequently found out personally that they are a very deceptive organization. When I signed up for the free trial there were lots of matches in my local area. Of course I could not contact them. So I decided to give a 1 month membership a try. I was pleasantly surprised at the advertised price of $19.99.
After signing up I suddenly found that many of the local contacts just vanished. I also then checked my credit card to find out I had been billed $79. When I dug into the billing I found the fine print that stated that $19.99 was a weekly figure not a monthly. Their website is clearly designed to mislead people in this regard.
I am now desperately trying to cancel the 'automatic' renewal. I can see no process on the FAQs for doing this other then sending a fax (who has fax machines anymore?). I guess I will have to cancel my credit card to ensure that this deceptive organization cannot take any more money from me.

trying to cancel my be2 membership has been a nightmare. Nowhere on the website is there an email address to contact them with. They do not make it easy to contact them unlike any other online dating site. There is also no way that s member can set their account to not renew and to cancel membership. There is a postal address for Luxembourg... but it’s an online dating site - why expect a physically letter to be posted. I had thought that I’d sent a communication to cancel my membership but I could not prove that. I hadn’t used the membership after a month of joining as I was going through some health issues and dating went out the window. I’ve ended up getting emails because my renewal failed as my card I used in PayPal had expired. It took a number of requests and elapsed time for them to communicate with me for me to finally get s human (I assume) to respond. I was and still am very skeptical that this isn’t a scam of some kind and wanted confirmation that they would cancel my membership once it I paid. I provided them a scanned letter requesting membership cancellation, stating I would pay once they confirmed they would cancel my mbership when payment was made. They confirmed they would cancel the membership once I paid but before I managed to do this they’ve sent my account to a debt collector.

Wow I wish I did my research before signing up and checking where the company was located. Premium membership is a waste of your money and now the company is trying to extort more money for a crap service. The site is full of fraudsters who more or less string you along to waste your time and collect details about yourself or photos. I was rather suspicious when trying to access someone from their customer service team and did not get a reply. Cancelled my credit card details via the bank at least so I would encourage others to do so they cant charge you again then. But flushing money down the toilet is still not fun either for a year. Be2 is a lot of [censored]e people so if more and more people stand up to this crap maybe these offenders will be deal with by the law. Do your research and check for scams sites before signing to avoid going through these experiences that the rest of us have had.

So many people does not know what to do to easily cancel their account on be2, the site is a very complicated one, that's why people think their money can not be returned, if you want to cancel your account, write to accountcancelliation@accountant.com, I had problems with be2 brazil for my account cancellation and a friend referred me to write to that email, and after filling a reconciliation form, an email was sent my account after 5 working days that my subscription with be2 has be cancelled . my bank also write me about the be2 cancellation, take this advantage now...good luck

The same here! I am a victim of be2 from NZ! They charged me $270 on my credit card initially for 6 months in January 2014. I tried many times to cancel the membership / unsubscribe online and also by email, but my attempts were all unsuccessful. Then, in July 2014, they charged me another $270 for renewal of further 6 months. Then, I faxed to them and finally got cancellation confirmation for membership from them. Also, I went to my bank to complain about the unauthorised payment and cancelled my credit card. Luckily, I got payment back from my bank. Last week, I also got emails from be2 and they said I owed $291 and were threatening taking legal action.
I want to know what should I do, please. However, I am NOT going to pay them even 1 cent!

Yes, same as everyone else. Send an email to the customers service email address and when they reply with the usual rubbish, thank them for receipt of your original email (in which you advise them that you are terminating any further association with them or the their service) which they usually enclose on return email. Ignore them from there on. Make sure to lay a complaint with you Consumer Affairs.

To anybody out there who has any inclination of subscribing to BE2 don't they are scamsters please just read the above complaints and you will agree with me, I subscribed for a month and at the end of the month I was billed for R1449.00 without my consent, OK so they say read the fine print but have been on other dating sites and this is not normal practice.

I registered with be2 on 26/5/13 and paid £5.00 for a months subscriptionUnfortunately, i then read reviews online and was horrified.I attempted like many to cancel membership the following day and had no luck at all.I then contacted my bank and cancelled my credit card. They were very sympathetic and know about be2 automatically taking people's money without consent.Upset and very stressed by the whole episode.

I am a victim from Singapore. BE2 closed my account 6 days after it was opened. I had paid for 1 year subscription. The only reason BE2 customer service gave was that i have "used their services for denied purposes", which is utterly ridiculous as i had done nothing inappropriate. BE2 customer service ignored all my emails requesting for clear explanation on why my account was blocked.
Since joining BE2, i have been swarmed by scammers.
I am really worried of identity theft. I am afraid BE2 may use my profile to interact and scam other genuine BE2 members.
I have since lodged a police report and terminated my credit card.

I too Joined the dating site for $5.00, and after two weeks tried to get out of it, sent emails to their customer service area and got the standard response. they gave directions of how to cancel the account but of course it did not work.
also tried to call there service at night, of course not answer either. I did cancel my credit card and after the first month they tried to take out the funds and notified me to say " could not get any money out Etc'.
I am still getting their threatening letters, not very nice. its now April 2013 and this was back in January 2013.
I do not know what to do I have supplied them with the information and emails to show them i tried to cancel but it has made not difference to them.
I will now sent everything i have to to he fair trade commission in Australia.
They make things so hard and not very nice to deal with and the scamer's on their site - WOW we will not go there either.

I have had much the same experience as everyone else. In my case I smelled a rat when I got their confirmation email - 'The special [$5 months' trial] Premium Membership is followed by the 6 month(s) Premium Membership for the price of 234.00AUD. Paid with Credit Card. Account number: xxxx xxxx xxxx [etc]’.
l thought: TRIAL is supposed to mean TRIAL, you try it out and continue if you like it, but this email didn't seem to be saying that. It was that present tense verb: 'IS followed' ... (Not even ‘will be’ – just IS.)
I deleted my profile, emailed Be2 cancelling my 'trial $5 months’ subscription' and cancelled my credit card (on my bank's advice) - all within A FEW HOURS of first responding to the Facebook ad. All on the same day (some of it even yesterday in Europe as I’m in Asia/Pacifica). So the Be2 defense that there is a only 14-day window for cancellation (they use this fact against people) doesn't apply in my case.
Plus I have not used the service (tho they did send me very quick smart a ‘You have a message from someone special’ email – which I did not follow up – and looking back I think it was to lure me into using the service so I couldn’t claim later that I hadn’t).
Also, against their instructions, I *didn't* fax my signature to Luxembourg (NO WAY!). I couldn't find out how to cancel online (I did try, but just went round in circles). I DID phone their customer service line several times, but guess what. Unavailable.
In any case, I have read that others who have written to Luxembourg find their letters have been lost etc, people who have tried to fax can't get through … so many excuses Be2 use to keep taking our money.
As far as I’m concerned, I have done everything that should be reasonably expected. It is their expectations (eg FAXING your signature to cancel, when they were only too happy to take your details online to join you up) that are unreasonable.
Now, after they tried to take funds out of my credit card account, and failed, I have had the standard threatening legal letter and am waiting to find out what next. I have been Googling Be2 and tho many have been threatened and frightened I haven’t found an account of anyone being taken to court ... so far ... But I hope that if this does happen, the magistrate will dismiss the case once I reveal the facts (and evidence thereof).
I see that complaints about this firm go back years. More fool me for not checking them out. But a real warning – on your ‘own’ Facebook homepage you do feel safe …. And you are NOT. Remember, Facebook have been taking advertising money from this mob for years - and Be2 have half a dozen at least Facebook pages. One hand washes the other.

Has anyone recieved an email instructing solicitors to take you to court to recoupe a subscription that they could get as I had blocked them on my card.
I tend to agree that this seems to be a scam as I've had no emails to notifiy me that my subscription was due or that they had tried and failed to charge my card.

The only way that I managed to get out of the membership with be2, was to order a new visa-card for my account. Then they couldn't charge me for the payment any more. But then I had spent a lot of time for more than eight months, trying to cancel.

As another disgruntled customer of be2, I have made a lot of legal inquiries, , now be2 has not provided any credit only a service they are not entitled to try to recoup money from your Acc, this is illegal on there behalf .. and If they are not a registered money lender or to a financial institution they are unable to tarnish your credit rating as well, , What they are doing in some countries is highly illegal and if caught they face time in jail for fraud ...you can get free legal advice so do that .. I live in Australia so I have filed a complaint against them with www.econsumer.gov they investigate scams as well ..I enough of us file complaints against them we may shut there site down..Give them a blunt email see you in a court of law the judge will rule against them for an unfair contact to start with and they may be charged with fraud on top of that ... Good luck to every one been bitten by be2 dating ..LETS STICK IT UP EM

It seems that we are all having the same kind of problem with be2. I agree that the terms and conditions are confusing and it should state quite clearly that an email cancellation is not sufficient. So far my bank, who intercepted the request for payment, have not paid for the continuous membership. Once I paid the £5 free month trial and realised that this would be followed with a payment of £149.99 I cancelled immediately, heard nothing more from be2 either in response to my email or 'matches' until they had a problem receiving payment. I have been dealing with customer service and not finding them helpful at all, rather they are threatening me with their recoupment procedure. My problem is still ongoing.

Subscribed to the trial offer membership, which to be fair forgot about canceling the next thing i knew was they had taken £146.00 from my credit card wouldnt mind so much if the site wasnt a pile of ### and a complete waste of time, was just told i should have read the terms and condition.Would have been better spending the £146.00 on going out more chance of meeting someone avoid this site do not give any payment details.

I too have tried to get my money back from this site. It is such a hassle to have to deal with automated mail. This site has ripped me off another $270.00 as I have tried to cancel my membership but they have not responded and have not given access in order for me to do this. They are very ignorant and I think its high time that the authorities were involved.

I have had some problems with BE2 also. Got me a premium membership but the site was...well, to put it like this, I wanted out fast again.

So I wrote them an e-mail to cancell my premium access/account and filled in all the information they needed. Then after some time they billed me again for a new premium periode from my credit card. I was not pleased by this at all, so went to the web site and in the contact form they have going there, I delivered a "letter" to them explaining what happend and said that I was expecting them to pay me back the money for the last billing.

I got no answers on either, so now I have sent a new complaint.

If Be2 want to be taken seriously they should atleast send a e-amil back when somebody contacts them, but...yea...

Wow! Bad, bad experience! I joined be2 some time ago as well, but had no problems to unsuscribe - their customer service was really helpful and guided me through a rather easy process. I just saw someone from be2 contacted you to solve your problem, I would really try that. I know it by experience, they are willing to help.
Well, good luck. Did you at least meet interesting people? ;)

Dear Darla,

I am writing to you on behalf of be2 as we are very disappointed about what happened to you. From be2 we have never tried to cheat anyone. So if you don't mind, could you tell us your email or your be2's user name to try to solve your problem? You could contact us through our customer service department or answering to this comment.

We would be pleased to help you.

Best,
