BCBG Max Azria Outrage

Was yelled at for not complying with their illegal request to show ID while using my Visa card at their store. My wife and I were making a purchase and they asked us to leave because we did not want to show ID which is not required by VISA and clearly states just that on the VISA website. (“merchants cannot make an ID a condition of acceptance. Therefore, merchants cannot refuse to complete a purchase transaction because a card holder refuses to provide ID. Visa believes merchants should not ask for ID as part of their regular card acceptance procedures”.) When my wife and I returned to Florida from our Las Vegas trip, I tried in vain to contact BCBG. I left voice mails for customer service and wrote a letter which was sent to their corporate offices in California. They refused to reply or respond in any fashion. I filed a complaint with VISA who again assured me that their vendors may not ask for ID. BCBG's behavior is outrageous and their lack of a response shows just how much they care about customers.

Somebody stole my husband's wallet out of his gym locker one night and hightailed it to the mall and maxxed out our checking account (well over 2k) at an Express store. I am perfectly okay with vendors checking ID even if it's not a card policy. Just show them your ID, it's really not a big deal unless you aren't the card holder.

BCBG Max Azria return policy

I don't usually shop at BCBGMAXAZRIA, but I made the huge mistake of going there. I returned a dress I purchased and the retail rep gave me a store credit in the form of a receipt. I was told that as long as keep this receipt I will be able to use my credit store. A month went by and I went back to the store to finally use my store credit. I'm not sure what happened, but I was told that that store credit was cancelled and that they had to keep it. They had to do some investigation with their "corporate" office. I kept waiting for a phone call back and it never came. I called the store back and they told me that they had no idea what I was talking about! To quote their manager "we only give store credit in the form of a gift card, are you sure you have the right store?"

BCBG Max Azria returns policy

I just bought a bikini, a skirt and dress online. I had seen them in the store and they did not have my size so I ordered online. Whether they were on sale or not, I never would have ordered them if I had known that I could not return them. Now, having to return them, I looked at the policy and could not believe that there are no returns on sales items or bathing suits. How barbaric is that? It was not even clear as I went back to check because I was so mad that I had missed it. It is hidden in the babble here.

I spoke to both the customer service rep and a supervisor and absolutely no exceptions are made according to Devon. I will NEVER order from BCBG again when I can get their products from Bloomingdales, Lord and Taylor and Nordstrom where they will happily take them back. I COULD have ordered the very same products from any of those sites and returned it and I am outraged at this policy. I have $300 worth of clothes I cannot wear and in this economy Devon suggested I give them to relatives, friends or the poor!

I am completely outraged as the same thing just happened to me! When I asked the supervisor (Mark) where it stated "final sale", he directed to me to the customer service tab - under return policy. It is clearly a bait & switch...they DO NOT clearly outline final sale on their website. The only reason I purchased from their website is because I thought BCBG was a reputable company...CLEARLY NOT. I am calling their corporate office to see if someone has any couth in this organization. DO NOT BUY from this company that would rather take advantage of their customers vs. focus on customer service.

The same thing just happened to me! I am outraged ! I spent 450 for clothes that dont fit! Such a waist. I am so so mad. What kind of company doesn't accept returns. I will never never buy bcbg clothes ever again. I talked to a supervisor as well and they wouldn't budge at all. That is a bad company!

BCBG Max Azria Store Credit Policy

I purchased a jacket for approximately $200 on April 26, 2011. I decided it did not fit well, so I returned it on April 28, 2011 with the receipt and tag still attached. I was informed I had to take a store credit. I was given a receipt that looked like an original purchase receipt. I inadvertently shredded the receipt a few weeks later since it looked just like all the other receipts for purchases the weeks before. BCBG has NO distinction whatsoever between a store purchase and a store credit. There is no distinguishing characteristic. I was not advised that the receipt was the one and only store credit receipt that would be accepted by BCBG. I notified the store manager where I purchased the jacket and was informed that, at this time, they could not give me the credit due me. When I told them I had accidentally shredded the receipt, the response was that someone could go through my garbage and piece together the store credit. I shredded the receipt with numerous documents and additional receipts. It would be impossible for anyone to piece together anything related to the receipt. BCBG will do ANYTHING to get out of giving me my credit. I intend to file a claim with the Consumer Protection Agency of the State Attorney General's office in California as well as the Better Business Bureau. Consumer beware of the unfair policy imposed by BCBG.

BCBG Max Azria Sent damaged item

I received a dress from BCBG.com and there was a black streak on the back of the sleeve. It looks to be dirt or dust. When calling BCBG.com to tell them about this, customer service told me I could return the dress and they would give me a return shipping label (so I wouldn't have to pay to have it shipped back to them). Initially they said one day and I should get my return shipping label via email. So one day goes by and nothing. I call back and then they say another 24 - 48 hours. Wait again, and still nothing. I call again and they tell me they have too many requests and they will push it through and I should have it the next day. Again, I wait and nothing. I have waited 7 days now for a shipping label for a damaged item they sent. When calling today, they told me it would take another 5 days. First of all, how do you miss a black streak on the back of a sleeve? Second, it really takes two weeks to send a shipping label via email? This is ridiculous! I have a dress sitting here that I can't return and money being tied up because of their idiotic mistake. Get with the program BCBG! Zappos.com sends you a shipping label before you even get off the phone. I will never shop at BCBG.com again!

BCBG Max Azria Return Policy

I purchased dresses for my daughter from bcbg.com, they did not fit her. When I went to return them, I noticed in the small print no returns on sale items. I called customer service to let them know when I was making the purchase there was no alert to the return policy. She explained to me that it is on there, you have to read their policies. In other words you have to hunt for the answer, they hide it in small print. I have order items before from Pottery Barn that were sale, before I pushed the final button and alert came up to let me know that they would not be returnable. I can not believe the policy BCBG has in place, what happened to customer service. I was a loyal BCBG shopper, but I will not shop there ever again and I will make sure I let all my friends know to steer clear of that store.

I had the same experience with BCBG'd horrific return policy. I cannot believe that a store that only offers store credit or exchange does not post this. Furthermore, when someone spends over $2, 800.00 you would think the store employee would treat them with some respect - not at BCBG! They basically told me 'too bad'. Needless to say, I will be buying any future BCBG dress from a department store with a reasonable return policy.

I agree, BCBG's policy sucks and especially if you got something on sale and the next day it's even more discounted, you can't get the difference. We're in the 21st century! Banana Republic return policy is awesome. I was a loyal BCBG buyer, but now it's almost impossible to buy anything even at their outrageous prices!

Don't shop at BCBG or Potter Barn! Don't waste your money on so-called "name brand" merchandise ... it's all made in China anyways, and a lot of the time in sweat shops! Wake up America and stay away from Corporations! They are evil and the ignorant American public indirectly supports these sweat shops by shopping at these stores! And like you see, the corporations are shady! We work hard for our money and they get a shirt made for a few cents and then don't let you return it...so immoral.

Wow, Stealth Pilot, that's kind of rude. Did you even look at the bcbg.com website? The wording for sale on returns IS hidden - you have to not just click on return policy (which is 30 days) but then on "Return exceptions"! I know because the same thing just happened to me. Returns may be accepted as a courtesy, not a right, but every online clothing store I know will tell you if the sale is final and returns won't be accepted!

BCBG Max Azria Hidden &no refund& policy on sale items

I was in Macy's during the pre-New Year's sale and saw the fabulous Adrice over-the-knee boots. It was a madhouse in shoes, so I tried on the 6.5 sample, and found it was too small to pull all the way on- but really close. It was on sale, but I didn't have time to fight the crowds, so I came home and went online. Found it on sale for the same price on BCBG.com, and ordered it.
The boots arrived, and what I determined is that I have an incredibly high instep - I get my foot down to the ankle, and there's no room to slip my heel down. It took me 15 minutes with a shoehorn and a lot of muscle, and finally slipped my foot past the ankle - once in, they were super comfy and fit great - but really, who has 30 minutes to put on a pair of shoes?!?! So, back they went - or will go, except...
When I read the refund instructions, it said NO REFUND ON SALE ITEMS. Now, I understand no refund on items marked FINAL SALE, but the BCBG company HIDES THEIR POLICY to encourage you to buy. I went to their website and went through the process to buy the boots again, to make sure I didn't miss a big warning sign - nothing. There is NO MENTION of this policy in the online checkout process when buying a sale item. So as far as I am concerned, this is UNETHICAL, bordering on fraud. I called their customer service and explained to the woman that a) I could have bought these elsewhere and returned them, and I will never shop at BCBG again if they don't take them back, and b) I checked online to make sure I did not miss something and confirmed they do not advertise this policy during checkout.

I am supposed to get a call back from someone in management with a decision. Let me tell you something, this policy is unbelievable - no reputable company has a no return policy like this, let alone hides one. I want more than an apology, I want an explanation and I want them to change their business practice. They are banking on teh fact most people will not go through the hassle to fight the policy, and that's incredibly poor customer service that I'd expect from some bargain basement joint - not a 'name brand', especially one tied to a couture line.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY until they change their practices and make their sale policy transparent.

Could you post here and let us know what happens? I just did the same - I bought a ton of stuff on bcbg.com, including two different sizes of the same pair of pants, just to see which one fit better. I got the box yesterday and when I was repacking things for return, I noticed the same small wording on the invoice! I looked online since I remembered reading about a 30-day refund policy and only then found the "returns by exception" policy! I just e-mailed customer service and got the reply that they were sorry but sale items are final. They are the only site I've shopped at online that don't have the "sale items final sale" or other suitable wording on the sale page! Or at least let me know before I checkout! Not sure what to do with over $200 of BCBG stuff...!

I went to my local BCBG store and I too was informed of there no exchange or refund policy. It made it very hard for me to purchase my item. Fearing that if when I brought it home it would'nt look right with anything I had and I would'nt be able to exchange it. I think that's ridiculous! It turned me off from ever shopping there in the future.

BCBG Max Azria Bad service

After having spent most of the morning walking into the shops at Leesburg Outlet in Northern, VA, I was greeted by everyone with a "Welcome to ". Friendly clerks, warm faces and an invitation to shop and enjoy yourself.

Unfortunately, this was not the case when I walked into the BCBG Outlet. The clerk, literally, welcomed me with a 2 minute lecture until I finally had to leave.

He told me, "If you try something on, you will have to bring it back and hang it back right where you found it. We are tired of hanging things back up and are tired of cleaning up the dressing room after people. So, if something doesn't work out, you will have to be courteous and I was absolutely appalled and just ended up leaving.

Upon deciding to come back to let him know how this had soured my mood and was completely unnecessary, his response was that he had not used any profanity. He told me that customers tend to be rude and don't put back their merchandise in the correct place.

I am at a complete loss. From this, am I to understand that BCBC's philosophy towards its customers are as follows:

1) Customers are a pain and are extremely rude.

2) Customers are supposed to hang up their own clothes.

3) Customers who have never, previously, stepped into the store should receive a lecture and be reminded what a pain their are.

4) Customers should feel honored that they didn't have to hear profanity upon walking into the store.

I will never shop here again. I have let the company know of this along with Leesburg Outlets themselves. While BCBG has not responded, at least the outlets did by letting me know that they do not want one person to sour the experience at the mall.

I plan on letting everyone know to avoid this store at all costs. Nothing justifies rude and uncalled-for actions from a clerk.

BCBG Max Azria refund policy

I too was very taken aback by the BCBG store policy. I purchased a few outfits for some upcoming events. I took them home and picked the ones I like the best. (i have limited shopping time so I quite often decide later.) I realized the skirt I purchased was unflattering...and I bought it in part because the clerk was so pushy. The item was full price. I returned the item 4 days later, with the receipt, in the tissue with tags...and was told that only a store credit would be offered. The item was not on sale or promotion. I am used to strict return policies with boutiques but not with national chains. The BCBG items sold at Nordstom's and Macy's however, are fully returnable. The policy is stated on a small sign near the register but this wasn't mentioned to me. So now I have a store credit for several hundred dollars at a store I never want to shop in again. : (

Esbee333 I agree with you regarding the return policy in bcbg. I just bought three blouses from bcbg today. I got them from the rack marked 50% discount +30% additional discount. After I payed the clerk said that all sales were final because the items were on sale. When I looked at the receipt I noticed she didn't give me the 30% additional discount but was unable to to complain because the sale was final and had already paid. End up paying $70 more then I should have:( I know I got a great for the blouses but why put up a sign(on the entrance window and around the store) stating you will receive an additional 30% discount and not give it to people.

BCBG Max Azria No exchange on shoe purchases

I bought a pair of shoes and a dress yesterday at BCBG in Los Angeles and the salespeople were very nice. I read the receipt which stated exchanges were fine within 10 days with receipt and "All sales final on sale items, accessories and swimwear." BCBG carries necklaces and rings and handbags as well and shoes and clothes. i assumed this was what was meant by "accessories" and was not told any differently.

i wore the shoes for about 10 mins on carpeting last night and they hurt my feet terribly. I had to take them off - they seemed too small and today i called a couple of stores to see if they had a larger size i could exchange.

the first two stores i called didn't even tell me that shoes were considered accessories and non-exchangeable. the Beverly Hills store did - and said i should have been told at checkout shoes are a final sale. i was not.

The RECEIPT IS PURPOSEFULLY MISLEADING. Even on this "Complaints board" website, when choosing a "Category of Complaint" - i chose "Clothing, Shoes, Accessories" - there is differentiation between shoes and accessories... who would assume shoes especially at this price point are "accessories" ...? no explanation of terms was given when paying and the receipt is deceptively vague. it is not explained on the receipt or in store that "shoes are classed an accessory" how does a shopper make an informed choice? it never occurred to me i couldn't exchange if needing a bigger size... and it's not as if i am naive on these things. i was careful to read the receipt at purchase and it appeared straightforward.

shoppers are too discerning now to put up with this kind of misleading and deceptive behavior, particularly at this price point. there are simply too many other options.

I will never shop BCBG again. i recommend you don't either. the best i was offered by them was that "everyone who buys that shoe has sore feet after the first few wears... have them stretched by a shoemaker." i routinely shop high-end product and will never buy there again.

I recommend going to another store and telling them the product is defective. That way they can return it to the manufacturer. They can see the soles are not worn then at that time. And when they ask how it's defective, say something along the lines of 'They hurt my feet a lot and only wore them for about 15 minutes at hme on the carpet!'

This should work as I used to work at a high end shoe store. Typically no returns unless the product is defective. Pain while wearing qualifies as defective when the item is priced at a rate I am assuming is going to qualify as 'expensive'.
