Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) fraudulent bank services

I've had multiple upon multiple times of BB&T posting my largest charge first so then my smallest charges cause my account to go negative, and then I begin to incur their overdraft fees. They offer no assistance, they do not give any grace periods to deposit or transfer money like some banks do, and they will only waive fees—if you ask them—once every two years. Just this year alone I've already paid over $200 in overdraft fees. They also collect a $12 maintenance fee that I was never told about, it was never made clear to me that I would be paying this and why.
Just earlier this month I paid an overdraft fee for a less than $1.00 charge, it was because of my HSA account and I had no control over it— I never could've predicted that it would've cost me. My HSA account deposited and then withdrew the same amount so why does there need to be a fee, especially if it's less than one dollar, there's no mercy with BB&T. If your negative above five dollars they will charge you their fees no matter what. There was also a time when a company began to fraudulently take money out of my account, I even closed and reopened my account and let BB&T know I was doing this and why. They then told me that they would contact me before they let anyone try to take money out of my account. They contacted me for one Incident of money leaving my account, but then they did not contact me for another amount that was larger and then my account went negative. I contacted them to say that the company should not have been taking money out, they did not have my permission, and they did not even have my new bank account number so how could they take money out. It's frustrating to deal with a bank that doesn't have your back.

I travel often on business and my primary client makes regular deposits into my business account. So often that not only do the employees in the Florida Branch where the deposits are made know him, the Branch Manager and some of the employees at my branch in North Carolina know him as well. On November 19th, 2018, my client entered the same location in Naples Florida that he always makes deposits into my account. Then he emailed me a photo of the deposit receipt to verify he had made the deposit, as he always does. There were no indications of a hold being placed on the deposit. The deposit receipt said nothing about a hold. The Teller at the branch in Naples where the deposit was made did not give any indication verbally or on the receipt of a hold being placed on the deposit.

The following day, I paid bills and used my debit card as usual. Then to my embarrassment, my card was declined for a transaction. Thinking that something was wrong, or that possibly BB&T's system might have gone down, I called the 1 800 number for after hours customer service. It was at that time, I was informed that there was a 10 day hold placed on the deposit and that I had incurred over $600 in over draft fees. Having to go back out of town early the following morning, I sent my wife to the branch to discuss the issue with the branch manager. He stated that although he didn't agree with the hold being placed, it was out of his hands. He was able to release the hold but claims he does not have the authority to refund the $600 in overdraft fees. My wife showed him the photo of the deposit receipt and she was told it was not good enough and needed to produce the original receipt in order to get the overdraft fees back.

I contacted my client who like anyone else would do, had thrown out the receipt as he figured it was okay since he and I both had a photograph of the receipt. He then contacted his bank, (Wells Fargo) to check if there was a problem in the deposit going from his account to my account at BB&T and maybe that was the reason for the hold. Wells Fargo informed him that with in 6 hours of him making the deposit, the money had left his account electronically through Automated Clearing House (ACH) and the money was in BB&T's possession.

This is nothing more than THEFT by the Bank.

Therefore, this brings to us another question of what is BB&T doing with MY money while they decide to hold onto it for 10 days for no other reason than to have 10 days of its use to make money first from overdraft fees and then again by having a 10 day interest free loan on my money to use to invest with. Think about it...with all the depositors that BB&T has, if they have ONLY 1000 depositors that they are holding just $1000 for 10 days, that is having a free ten day loan on $1, 000, 000.00 (ONE MILLION DOLLARS). If they do that every 10 days over the course of a year, they are borrowing $36, 500, 000.00 (THIRTYSIX MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND) DOLLORS, INTEREST FREE! AND WITHOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS PERMISSION! Not only that, but they are charging their customers overdraft fees on money that they have stolen from their customers!

With a $36, 500, 000.00 free loan, (And that is based on only 1000 depositors at a time) if they invested the stolen money and made a measly 4% APR (And we all know that they are not settling for that little amount of return, as anyone who has ever used them to buy a house, car or applied for a consumer loan through any bank can attest) they are making a profit of $1, 460, 000.00 on that stolen money.

When I look at it in this perspective, Not only do I believe that BB&T needs to change their policy, I believe that the executives and employees behind this Ponzi Scheme need to go to jail, as I have seen far less on episodes of the hit television series American Greed!

The problem is BB&T continues to get away with this practice because they believe that Joe Consumer is not intelligent enough or has the energy to go up against the corporate giant that is nothing but a bunch of white collar thieves wearing suits and acting like they care about their customers. In truth the only difference between BB&T and a Chicago Mafia is a Bank Charter License. BB&T thinks that they can get away with it, and if one or two complaints are made loud enough they can settle a suit or pay off a customer to get them to shut up about it. Look at Wells Fargo, they were recently assessed a One Billion Dollar fine for fraud and it hasn't fazed them because they paid the billion dollars with money they made from stolen money as well. BB&T just hasn't been caught YET. Let me emphasize the YET part.
BB&T believes they as a corporation are too large to fail. They need to take a look at some of the other institutions who also believed they were too large to fail, such as Countrywide Home Loans, Freddy Mac, Fannie Mae, Circuit City, Sears Roebuck, , , The list goes on...They also fail to realize the power of the internet and the negative press that they are getting ready to receive when I post my story on every social media site from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, just to name a few. And we wont list every newspaper editor that will be receiving an editorial letter from me in every city where BB&T holds a branch location.

I urge all people who have complaints on BB&T to not just stop at this web site where you post your complaint. Do as I am and make the next step and file a complaint with the Federal Reserve. They are the senior governing agency over financial institutions. If a lower agency is over BB&T, they will forward the complaint to the proper agency based on the complaint. If enough complaints are taken to the next level, we collectively can put BB&T back in the stone age where they belong.

If you are reading this, and wish to join me in shutting down BB&T and wish to have your complaint heard by the Federal Reserve, Go to this web sight to down load the complaint form and for instructions on filing your complaint.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft fees

I have been a BB&T customer for several years and have had overdrafts here and there, but I received 3 overdraft fees due to the way BB&T posts and pends activities specifically, between 10/12-10/15.
I contacted customer care about this, several times today. The first time I called, there was a wait of over 30 minutes and I did not wait on the line. My second call, same wait time but I requested a call back. The agent that called back talked as if she was reading a script, didn't listen to my questions, but made a point to tell me about the overdraft refund policy. When I asked for a supervisor, she told me that they would tell me the same thing. I then told her that I asked to speak to a supervisor, I did not what she thought they would tell me. She put me on hold for several minutes then I was mysteriously disconnected. I called back a third time, there was a wait time of 41 minutes, I requested a call back and the young lady that I spoke to was at least apologetic for my inconvenience and her peer's inadequate customer service and filed a complaint on my behalf about my situation, but politely told me that the bank's system won't allow her to bypass the overdraft policy (no more than 1 refund in a 2 year period). I understand the policy completely but, if I am looking at my balance and trusting the accuracy of the available balance, why then on Monday are items shuffled for the bank's convenience? In the end, my balance is -$115, mind you, the 3 overdraft fees equal $108. These pendings were strategically posted so BB&T could profit from the overdraft fees.
This is the same practice that 5/3 Bank did to me years ago and I was part of a (successful) Class Action lawsuit because of it! I am going to reach out to the same attorney that litigated that action to find out about options available to me and I'm sure others.

XXXX & XXXXX, LLP class action attorneys are investigating similar overdraft fee claims from customers of XXXXX Bank who have been assessed overdraft fees. If you or someone you know has a XXXX Bank checking account and has been assessed overdraft fees contact us our class action attorneys would like to gather additional information about your transactions.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) checking account hold and fees

My husband used my card before I could let him know that my deposit was not yet in. When I went to make my deposit the bank had charged me over $200 for Overdraft fees for barely over $100 debit card use.
I deposited over $3000 and the same day I was charged more Overdraft fees for over another $100. They had put a 7 business day hold on my PAYCHECK!
And then said since the hold was on there anything out would still be overdraft!

This is OUTRAGEOUS and I want my MONEY BACK!

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft charges

The available balances online do not correspond to the actual balances of my account, I have only been a customer for 2 months and have been hit with 5 overdraft fees. The latest 3 were on the same day during Hurricane Michael. I went in to my local branch and was told that I should try using a register to keep my balances. Why even offer an online product if it doesn't work. I have been with Chase bank for 15 years and only had about 3 overdraft fees. There seems to be a lot of customers that have the same complaints. I believe I will be taking my business to a bank with more updated technology and better customer service skills. Thanks but No Thanks

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft fees for service I didn’t request

I requested that they cover Overdraft protection for CHECKS ONLY. They kept allowing me to overdraft (even with minute amounts) with my debit card! I requested them to change it 3 different times in 3 different ways (in person, on the phone, and email) to no avail. I closed my account and they allowed TWO MORE ITEMS to overdraft that were automatic payments. I refused to pay them with how much money they owe me in overdraft fees. And I believe they still owe me. For pain and suffering if nothing else.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) checking/disregard to customers

10/1/2018
I have been a BB&T client since it was switched over from National Penn. I cash all payroll checks as well as an insurance check I recieve from my father passing. I have been cashing and depositing this very same check every month for few years now. When my payments increased another branch put notations on my account to not place holds on my check because this was what I was living off of and paying my bills and such with. Today i went into my normal branch to a teller I've gone to many times and she stated there would be a 2 day hold. I have a car payment and other bills due as well as a vacation booked this week . So I told her no, I have been cashing this same exact check over a year with no issues and that there was a notation on my account. She checked the account and stated she couldn't find it. At this point I told her she as well as every other teller in this branch has been cashing this exact check without a hold every single month at the same time for over a year. She said she was going to talk to a manger and disappeared for a good 10 minutes. The bank was very full at this point with not enough tellers to care for clients. She came back and in front of the other 7 or 8 people waiting had asked why I received this check and what is was for to which I had to get into details about my father dying and it being an insurance/ inheirtance payout. I was clearly emotionally distraught and felt after such a long time no questions needed to be asked, this check clears every month, I've never bounced a check or over drawn my account there was absolutely no reason for how she was acting. The manager came out and in front of everyone explained to me about how people get scammed for months on end and later owe all this money for checks that weren't valid. AGAIN This is a check I receive from my father passing. A legitimate insurance company. They made it look like I was doing something wrong by asking this hold not be placed since its never been before and it was the same check I've always cashed. I felt humilated. After all this they took the hold off cashed the check which i just deposit anyways and took my phone number for the regular branch manager to call when she was back. NO ONE should be treated like that ever.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft fees

Bbt is liken to a bunch of buzzards siting in a tree waiting for an honest man to make a mistake and when he does they pick his bones dry.they take all his money so his account is negative then charge him $36.00 because he doesnt have any money in his checking account.these fees are outrageous and unfair and trying to talk to anyone is futile.bbt collected millions in these fees in 2017.they dispense these fees without mercy or understanding..i hope they are sued and loose.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) savings account/transfers

I have been banking with BB&T since before with Susquehanna Bank. I have never been very happy with BB&T, especially since no one in my local branch with whom I had a relationship is still there.

I had opened a savings account 2 yrs ago for the specific purpose of transferring money into it from my Vanguard account. Money never stayed in the account and it was almost always at a zero balance. This purpose was explained to the banking person who opened it. For almost 2 yrs there was never an issue.

10 days ago, I transferred money from Vanguard. On Tuesday, I checked my BB&T accounts on-line and the account I set up to accept the money from Vanguard was gone. Upon calling my local branch, I was told it had a $0 balance in it for 2 mths and at the discretion of the bank, it was closed. I was furious. I had never been contacted. I had never been told I needed to keep any amount of money in the account or I would have.

Now, what is really eregious is that the money has still not been rejected by BB&T and returned to Vanguard. It will take up to 2 weeks to be returned to Vanguard! So, they can sit on my money and make interest. I was not able to use the money for the purpose for which I originally transferred it. And, I am not able to make money on it in my Vanguard account.

I would be very careful if deciding to bank with BB&T to find out what exactly you are getting into.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft fees

I never realized until today how many overdraft fees I've been billed by BB&T. It's been time I've overdrafted my checking account and immediately transferred over the money from my saving to checking and I was still billed a $36 fee ! They don't give a 12 or 24 hour grace period like other bank or prepaid debit card vendors do. My husband and I have already canceled our cards will be withdrawing our money and finding a new bank Saturday. It's ridiculous. Then when you ask them to reimburse you they say no. I'm over hem and I'll never recommend BB&T again.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Overdraft Charges

I am desperately seeking help on an overdraft matter regarding our checking account with BB&T and have tried twice now with our local BB&T branch and the Resolution Department but have had no luck whatsoever in a fair attempt in any sort of resolution.

My husband, Bob, works for Target, and they have just cut his cut his hours from 35 hours a week to 18 hours a week and it has thrown us into a major tail spin financially. I am on permanent disability and not able to lend anymore or able to provide any additional assistance to our already tight budget. My current disability check and a small pension I receive are already go into the account via direct deposit.

Our problem this month has been is that we have several automatic withdraws from this account that we could not stop them in time so they would not come out of our checking account which caused our account to become overdrawn.

We have been trying to stay ahead of the withdraws by transferring money into the account every way possible using maxing out our BB&T credit line and credit card but 3 transfers hit the account the same day the overdraft charge did.

These transfers did not make it into the bank/account quick enough which has led to three overdraft fees totaling $108 for the past 2 ½ weeks.

We are doing everything possible to stay on top of this but can not afford $108 right not in bank charges. Is there anything you can do to reverse all or a part of these charges? I met with one of the bank tellers today at the Huntingdon Valley, PA location but said they could not do anything because we have one reversed in 2017 and the bank policy is every 2 years. We really don't know what to do would like to know if you could look and see if you might be able to work some magic somehow. Now we are being told that if we do not put more money in immediately which we do not have till next week we are going to be charged another $36 for having a negative balance. This is absurd to think we are being penalized for not being afford our checking account.

Here are the dates of the overdraft charges:

• 08/21/2018 - Over Draft Fee - $ 36.00
• 08/20/2018 - Over Draft Fee - $ 36.00
• 08/16/2018 - Over Draft Fee - $ 36.00

Please any help would be appreciated.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) customer billing and credit reporting

Around 9 November 2016 I contacted BB&T to arrange for deferments on two vehicle loans. Seeing that I had to stop working to take care of my wife 24 hours a day after she was seriously hurt in a motorcycle accident and there was no way I would put her in a nursing to wake up everyday not knowing who she was, how she got there or who all the strange people were. After receiving a TBI from 3 skull fractures and other injuries she needed to be in a surrounding that would best aid her recovery. I contacted the bank because I had to have time to get my finances in order and come up with a plan that would keep everyone paid and not ruin my credit. I figured if I bought a few months so to speak I could refinance my house around April of 2017 and borrow against the 100, 000 in equity and that would keep my credit score of nearly 780 intact and provide the best care for her. Anyway, the deferment was approved on 16 November 2016, exactly 31 days after my one vehicle loan had been due for payment. It never even entered my mind that they would report it as a late payment seeing as it was approved to be deferred, WRONG.. Seeing that I was sort of busy about 24 hours a day taking care of my wife and children I waited until January 4th 2017 to go online and check my statements. Both vehicles showed the next payment due as January 15th and 23rd. At that point in time I paid $700 on one and $420 on the other leaving a small amount to pay at the end of the month when I received my military retirement. Around 4 February I again went on line and when I looked at the right side of the statements it said I was already over 40 days late and it did not show what had happened to the money I already paid. It did show under the amount paid year to date, but not were it went and not why it wasnt credited to January like it should have been. After numerous calls to BB&T and with no one being able to explain or care to figure it out, I finally had to complain to the better business bureau and consumer affairs. After a brief wait, over 3 months, I finally received an explanation from BB&T that the information on the right side of my statements was wrong and the payment had been applied to December. At this point every month had already been turned in as a missed payment and even with being provided inaccurate information and being told why it was so important that it not be on my credit report they did nothing. To stop the continuous hits on my credit I attempted to redo the loans thru BB&T at their suggestion and after about 2 weeks had passed was told it was denied because my income was too low? Thats why we were doing it in the first place. When I asked why I was told it was handled by a different department... So once again I had to resort to asking for the second deferment for the months of May and June 2017. After making sure all the payments due up and including April 2017 had been paid, the deferment was once again approved. At that point when I had been told by their employee that I needed to pay $240 on one of the vehicles to complete Aprils payment that the remaining $400 from the money I sent in would be applied to the July bill, only to have the July statement have all kinds of conflicting amounts due and showed I still owed payments on the months I deferred. So once again due the their error I was right back in the same spot as before and still receiving statements that had conflicting information. And yes BB&T told the Better Business Burea back in April that they were diligently working on fixing the issue. Not only did they turn in the months of October through December 2016 as late payments, they likewise turned in the entire year of 2017 as late even though they caused every bit of it. Due to 14 missed payments they turned in after I contacted them to make sure I did not end up with any, my attempt to refinance my home was denied because my credit score had dropped to under 600. Since that time they have gone back and removed the months of Oct thru December 2016 as late on both vehicles and they have removed May & June 2017 but have done absolutely nothing about the fact they totally destroyed my credit and made it impossible for me to get any type of loan to keep other bills paid and take care of my family. The executives at BB&T couldnt care less about what harm they caused and have done absolutely nothing to correct what they did and to this day I still have inaccurate information on my statements. So please feel free to spread this information across any public forum out there and to show exactly how poor of a choice using BB&T to finance anything would be I will attach the exact statements I received from them. Seeing as they dont feel any obligation to help with the financial harm and stress they caused my family at a time we were already dealing with a wife and mother that woke up everyday for over 4 months not knowing she was in her own home all I can say is I feel obligated to ensure that anyone considering using this company to finance anything better think twice.

Seeing as all my statements are in pdf form I will gladly send them to anyone that wants them. [protected]@aol.com

Sincerely

Elden Ray Gillespie

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) gap coverage on our totaled car

My son totaled our 2009 Mercury Mariner in August 2017. When we filed the claim Regional Acceptance and BB&T claimed our Gap insurance had expired in August 2017 even though the gap insurance was tied to our vehicle contract which had been extended several times was still in force. We fought Regional for months and they said we would have to speak with BB&T for a decision. Now our credit is ruined due to hits on our credit score and they are still not paying the Gap amount they were contractually obligated to enforce

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft

On wednesday my account had $50.55 opening, I debit posted for $20, they charged me $36 overdraft fee, they wrote in explanations that there were 2 items pending, one for $8.97 and one for $35.23, which caused insufficient funds to cover the $20 charge of -13.65. Assuming they intend to pay the other two items without an overdraft fee, I have no issue, I was not feeling well and I made a mistake. However this is not what happened. On thursday they posted the two pending items, and charged an overdraft fee of $36 for each of them, total of $121. They contend that the $56 they charged for the $20 + ovd fee left my account in the minus and there were no funds to cover the other two. But, there were funds to cover the $20, pending should not be deducted from your account in order to ovd posted. These is so wrong, the logical is incorrect, there were funds to cover two of the items. They were also very rude and condescending, they acted as if I am an imbecile. I am 62 years old, have had checking and savings since I was a teenager, and this is not how things are done. They contend that your account must cover the total of all items pending and posted daily or every item is subject to an overdraft fee, it is the total not each individual item. This makes no since. They said I should read the fine print! Of all things! Logic, reason, and the way it has always been should prevail. Just because I am older and walk with a cane, does not mean I am stupid, I have three college degrees, one graduate, and I still work fulltime, I am not in error they are! They are unreasonable, illogical, stupid, and arrogant! I took every penny out of my accounts immediately, I want my $72 back, and I do not want any further issues from them which I am sure there will be. The play dirty and underhanded!

Katherine McLaughlin
Checking ends in ****
Savings ends in

Please, Help with this, I?m not sure if I turn all of these Bb&t charges under Fraudulent charges?I know the Computer System is set up for Customer Service only able to do so much. I also know that they have removed around a hundred on a iTunes computer mistake with a $1000 worth of overdraft fees.

Right now I feel really taken advantage of from Bb&t. I would not have a Negative $700+ on my account. I feel robed by the whole situation. All of my family banks with Bb&t and I have for many years. I would never imagine having these issues with my bank and having my family go days without.

Please Forward e-mail to the correct Associate or Management that is able to help if you can not.

Thank you again for any help you can be for my family.

I have been noticing that my bank account has shrunk considerably, and with all of the various fees being charged. I am so broke now that I simply had to stop using BB&T here in Bristol. TN and had to use another local bank, Please note the employees are very courteous and have tried to resolve my concerns... I am or was getting a Social Security monthy income of $472.00 since January of 2018 when I found out that each month, my squirrel money that I used to have saved to offset this pittyfull situation... I had money in my savings account but saw a monthly increase in fees..and had to apply to SSA for SSI which I am getting a wee bit more money on my other bank account each month $606.00 and very limited income resources.. If there is a Class Action Suit about the excessive fees... I would like to be placed and considered for my losses thru BB&T.

I have been a customer with BBT for over 20 years. In the last year I have been charged over $600 in various fees. They told me my opt in/out status, was changed via computer, which DID NOT happen. They also have held automatic deposits until debit purchases have cleared so they can charge me more fees. I have called my local branch as, well as corporate. They are rude and could care less that I live paycheck to, paycheck as well as my power and water getting turned off because all my money went to fees. As soon as I'm able I will be going to another bank and using social media plus any complaint board I can find to, discourage anyone from banking here.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft

set up my mortgage to come out of my online banking to be paid by 29th it started pending the the 27th but not to be paid until 29th. I had a direct deposit pending for the 29th for almost 2k. I didnt have enough to cover the mortgage but enough to cover everything else. The bank charged me 5 over draft fees for my pending mortgage because it started pending the 27th even though funds were to be paid until 29th. They could clearly see the money would be there the 29th to cover it. When I called they wouldn't do anything about it. This pisses me off because they can charge me for a pending transaction but disregard the pending deposit. I bank with BB&T. And my mortgage is still pending direct deposits have gone in... and still have $180 worth of over draft fees called the 1800 number and they cant do anything supervisors are more rude then customer support. Spoke to Lourdes Hernandez at local branch and 0 help.. . BB&T has gone down hill these past few years. I will be switching banks very soon! Your app is a waste of time and effort and is confusing on when exactly I'm paying stuff. And it makes me delete recurring payments to change my date. The app was way better before you went to U!

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) loss draft department

I sent claim check and documents to Loss Draft Department. They were received on June 15, 2018. Some documents were rejected. I corrected and returned them as instructed. One of the documents was rejected for another reason. I did manage to speak with a representative and get it accepted. I need to receive my money so my contractor can begin repairs. My loss took place on April 13, 2018. It has been 12 weeks since I could live in my house. BB&T seems to care less about my situation I have requested to speak to a supervisor. I have been passed to 3 representatives and have been on hold for 40 minutes. I need to speak to someone who actually has the power to do something. I will never do business with BB&T again. I will make sure everyone I know realizes what kind of company they are.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) unexplained charges

I have the bbt app and I linked my SunTrust account to the app so I could perform transfers. I transferred 90 to checking from SunTrust and $50 to savings. The 90 disappeared for almost a week until I pitched a fit and then I seen that the $50 had posted but it was on pending/administrative hold ( what is that!?!) .well I called them and SunTrust several times and nobody seemed to know what was going on, oh because I forgot to mention bbt charged me twice $50 ..one for the actual funds, okay..then some random idk what! Well the next day I look at my account and I have been charged $2 for about 10 customer service and support phone calls! When did they start charging for that!?!? They don't! I'm switching banks that was the last straw

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) fraudulent services

I've read all of these complaints and feel like such a fool. I banked with KNBT since 1999. When they were bought by BBT and the trouble started I was told countless times when I called in that I have to "educate myself" on the difference between them and the "new practices" of this bank. I thought I wa the only one who was confused on how one transaction one day could go through in two days and then another take 8. It's like they intentionally wait until your account goes down and hold all transactions pending and then decide to put them through at will to accrue fees that you never should of gotten to begin with. Today is the last straw. I had a fraudulent iTunes account opened and for the last 3 months my account has been charged $10.59. Not with my permission. I called iTunes and they refunded two of the charges, but said that's all they could do and to ask my bank about the the third. In dealing with them I knew that was a lost cause but the last $10.59 transaction accrued a NSF fee so I called BBT and told them that I cancelled this account from iTunes I've been charged for for three months and could they at least refund the $36 fee that I shouldn't of gotten to behind with...here's the clincher. The money was set up to be removed through PayPal so when I told them that's where the refund went, they refused. They said if we can't see it refunded into your account we won't refund the fee. I told them I could email proof and still No. WELL, I cancelled this account and three days later, guess what, (it was not paid the first time because I had other fees accrued... same thing as all of you. Fees I don't understand but we were in between paychecks) . They put it though AGAIN, after I cancelled that account! And I had put a check in the bank and it wasn't covering anything because, you guessed it, PENDING! I'm so done. I didn't want to switch everything over but this isn't gonna stop and my hard earned money is too valuable To keep letting these crooks take it. I'm in for a lawsuit!

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) overdraft fees stacking

I have been with BB&T for over 20 years and have been abused by their overdraft system many time but this last one really makes me so mad I wish I knew who to contact since my branch manager had the perfect explanation as to why I was charged $36 OD. On 5/17/2018 my account balance was 161.32, I knew my car payment was coming through so on my way home at 9.25 pm I made a cash deposit through the ATM for $50.00 and got a receipt timed 9:25 pm stating available balance 211.32. I awoke on the morning of 5/18/2018 with a low balance warning, so I immediately checked my balance and it stated $8.12 I knew this was wrong so I checked my account and they posted my auto payment, then my OD charge of $36 and then stated the deposit in a pending status. It was cash! I called them and was told the computer posts these items and the OD fee can not be refunded because I had an OD fee refunded in April 2017 and the computer allows only 1 refund every 2 years. I earn no more than 11, 000 a year and they don't care if they make you homeless. They took my $50 cash and they took my $36 OD fee and a million reasons why they have to be fair to every client. WTF, I am thinking if we allow computers to determine how to handle our account and no live person can intervene do you realize what will be next. BB&T as well as most banks who do the same our going to ruin all of us who make less than $50, 000 a year. I would love for someone to reply and tell me who I need to speak to next. $36 will feed me for one week and they just took my food of my table.

I would like to add... if their is a lawsuit going on please add me to the list. BB&T won't even treat you with respect when you are trying to find out who to speak with in an authorized position to help you. They are rude and do not care. I was told the bank has to make money too.

I have called branch manager, customer service, "Gina Mitchell" in the file a complaint department. The manager of my branch manager "Lauren W." who's voicemail keeps coming on.
