Baytech Web Design Job description false

Horrible company with no organization.

I am a photographer, contracted to shoot photographs for this company. They wanted me to go from San Jose to San Ramon by 9am on a Wednesday. The job only paid 150 plus 35 for gas. The promise was that there would be ongoing long term relationship with them.

I get there at 8:35am and ring the doorbell of a residential house since I was told I would be taking house cleaning photos for a house cleaning website. I get there and no one knows what I'm talking about. I have to wait until 9am to call Bay Tech to ask what is going on. First I was transferred to multiple people, finally someone figured out that I was sent to the wrong address on the wrong week! There was no job for me to work at. The human resources manager, Neetu Makhija couldn't get it together and sent me to some job that doesn't exist.

When I call her direct line, its not even her phone number. I should clarify that her email interactions had poor spelling, bad grammar and improper usage of words.

This caused me to really worry, was I punked? Did I just get some scam telling me where to go so they can jack my equipment? I got really scared. I start investigating and the HR person had replied to me with a gmail acct. What corporate business does that? Their website was generic...I had to even ask them...are you even a real company?

What is worse is that the day before I had emailed her to confirm, date, place, time and job description. You would think she would at least take the time to verify her calendar.

In my angry state at 9am I was transferred to someone named Gigi, she sounded Chinese. I was told she was a director of operations. She apologized, and offered to pay me the travel fee of $35. At this point I'm ready to tell her to shove it. Or reimburse the full 185, which is the amount I would get had there been a legitimate job to do! She asks if I could be patient to wait and see if she can get approval for the reimbursement. She promised to call back same day. I decided to cool down and politely agree. She never called back. when I called back a day later she told me the CEO was busy and was the one to give the go ahead for reimbursement. WTH! its $35 bucks! It has been one week already and still no word from them. I fear they've become ghosts and disappeared.

I hope this company sinks to the ground with their unethical use of good people. I am a professional photographer that does not appreciate being treated as if I was just some joe with a nice camera. No one should be treated this way, passed around like a puppet. If I could give this company negative stars I would!

Baytech Web Design Rip Off

I had a extreme terrible experience working with this company. Most of the terrible things happened to me are like the other bad reviews from this web site, www.yelp.com and /link removed/

I have Baytech to design a online printing web site for me around 2007 and 2008. Right after they finish the web site, the economy crashed and we dropped the project. We didn't test the web site thoroughly because we thought we were no longer need the web site and I signed off the paper work to except the completion of the web site.

Last year 2011, we feel the market start to have potential for printing again. We went back to try to use the web site again. We found tons of problems and the web site was a trash.

The major problem - No way we could input our product size and weight for shipping! There also tons of problems.

Another problem that they've never fixed for me is a server error. Everytime when we log in to the backend administrator page, it gave us an "server error

After I spent thousand of dollars to let them fix the problem, they came back to me and said they need more money to fix this problem.

Another issue is we paid $1600 back in 2008 to add a real time shipping module for UPS and Fedex. After 3 years of time I understand the web site need to have a update in order to work with UPS and Fedex system. This time they want to charge me $9600 to update. I'm not a technical person and if anyone have knowledge about this, please help me to judge it.

I've had no problems with Baytech's services. In fact, I've had a great experience with the company. They created a beautiful website for me, got me ranked on the first page of Google and provided very friendly and professional services. I've tried many web design companys and Baytech has been the easiest to work with.

It is hard to find a good web agency in Silicon Valley. I search the keyword "san jose web design" from Google and find Baytech Web Design lists in the first page. How Baytech did it by SEO techniques?

I also saw Baytech Web Design is rated "Top Web Development Firm 2008" by "San Jose Business Journal". I am still waiting to make sure of that. I called serveral refrences and they said Baytech usually offer 30% off at the end of first and last week of each month. Maybe I can wait for a while. Is there anybody can pass me some information?

Baytech Web Design Baytech Web Design /Baytech webs?

Baytech Web Design: What level is Baytech indeed? I have contacted Baytech Web Design for a while and going to start the project. Although Baytech gave me free consultation: drawing the wireframe and writing the documentation, I am still carefull to start the project.

Baytech sounds very nice and professional, but I have to find feedback to convince myself because money is not easy to make in the bad economy.

I have contacted other local web design firms and they do not provide wireframe and documentation. It is hard to make a decision. Who can give me further suggestion if I should start my project?

We are the wall street company and looking for a quality web design company for our website. I have to make a deep research about the provider. I saw BayTech Web Design is rated "Top Web Development in 2008" from San Jose Business Journal, and browsing through their website www.baytechwebdesign.com. I noticed they have famous clients like Honda and Visa and other big local corporation. I still keep cautious that if BayTech can do the same best for me.

lol. if you came here you're most likely just going to find complaints about Baytech. However not me, I've had a positive experience with Baytech. They've developed many versions of our site. Anon, you're incorrect, they do have a team in Shanghai. But you should not discount them on that, Shanghai is an international city, much in the same way Silicon Valley is. They are a leading global company as their portfolio shows.

We too are a large company out of the Midwest that focuses on transportation management. We are currently completing our second phase with Baytech. They have many fully qualified team members on their staff that have masters degrees. They've worked for Ford, and Hewlett Packard respectively.

Baytech web design is really just an office of project managers. They use people in Japan as their programmers and lets just say if was a horrible experience and a waste of a lot of money. You don't have direct contact with their programmers and they also will say they can do anything but we noticed that they can't and won't provide every thing asked for. Be ware of the contract and make sure every they said they would do is in there, if you dare take a chance with them.

Baytech Web Design Website does not perform as contracted

We contracted with BayTech to build our website. It has now been more than ten (10) months since it launched and it still does not perform as per the contract for which we paid $70K. BayTech said that this is not their area of expertise and we should hire someone (at our expense!) to fix the website that they built for us. They do not return phone calls or emails since January.

We have been to several attorneys and although they all think we have a good and well documented case for a refund of our fee, it would cost us $20-25K in attorney fees (which are not reimbursable under BayTech's contract). In addition, even if we do obtain judgement against BayTech, there are no guarantees that we would be able to collect from this LLC.

We are looking for others that have been similarly ripped off by BayTech so that we can start a class action lawsuit. Thank you.

Baytech Web Design provides not only web design and development service but also SEO and PPC service. I doubt how a company can do so many things. Is it the truth? My company is the leader in the line of data storage; I need the reference to prove it.
Baytech gave me several references like Powerfile.com (keywords is “Storage evolved”), but I am still waiting for the further information. Baytech says that it takes one to two weeks to make the keywords to be listed on the first page in Google, however, other agencies says it is hard to believe. In order to make it clear, I called Powerfile.com which is a 100 more people big company, the IT director said Baytech did this for them; it took about one week to get keywords listed on the Google first page. Is this man trustworthy?
Maybe you will laugh at me why I am so paranoid. The reason is that I have to be responsible for my boss. I don’t want to screw things up in the weak economy.
If somebody can give me some information, I will be appreciated.

I can't agree with the above negative review more. This was the worst experience I have ever had in my professional career. Despite paying them tens of thousands of dollars to design a site for us, they provided a nearly worthless site that in the end averaged no more than a handful of unique visitors a day.

Here we were as an industrial company with no experience developing websites. Rather than try to do it ourselves, we did what any smart business people do, and we hired a company that we thought were experts in the field. If we had only known then what we know now about web development, we would never had paid such a ridiculous amount of money for something that should have been so simple.

What We Asked For

We asked for a backend interface for us (who are not super website tech savvy) to be able to use. We also wanted a site that would take advantage of web 2.0 characteristics (user generated content) and be SEO friendly. What we got was a site with little functionality, terribly SEO unfriendly, and a terrible development process.

Main Complaints

1. We performed all troubleshooting/debugging, for the entire project. We also were the only ones that brought up several problems with their design (despite not being experts at anything web related, we pointed out the lack of meta data inclusion, extremely long URLs, etc.)

2. The project was projected to take 3 months, and ended up taking over a year.

3. Our "SEO package" consisted of us performing all keyword research, selecting all the keywords, writing all the SEO descriptions, and inputing them into the site. We also did all of the content writing, published a blog with 50+ articles, press releases, and the majority of link building. All they did was submit us to a few directories, and "optimize" a few of our pages. In the end, of the 100+ pages we had, we had dozens of pages with the identical descriptions, duplicate pages, multiple URLs for the same articles, and no meta data on many key pages.

4. We seemed to be the experts when it came to designing the site to be SEO friendly. We made them redesign the site to include a blog, we took issue with using an opensource forum that cannot be crawled/indexed by google, and forced them to include the ability to edit meta data (in the end this only partially worked on a few pages).

5. Instead of using several opensource components (such as wordpress) to build our site, they insisted on creating a completely custom site architecture that according to other professional programmers/web design firms, is "terribly subpar", and lacks more than half of the functions that opensource components have, in addition to being nearly unindexable by major search engines.

Conclusion

In the end, we ended up doing a vast amount of the work ourselves, the project took substantially longer than they projected, tasks that required expert knowledge (SEO) fell on our shoulders, and when problems were pointed out, they failed to accept responsibility and correct them.

In fact after terminating our relationship with Baytech, our in-house people were able to create another website for our company, that ended up having a good percentage of the total functionality as the one they built for us (tens of thousands in costs including our peoples time over roughly a year) in one week using wordpress. Our current site is ranked #1 for several of our target keywords, while they never were able to get us off the 5th page despite over a year of development, and 6 months of overlapping SEO work.

In Addition to all of the above, after posting a similar review elsewhere on the internet, I was contacted by Baytech and threatened with a lawsuit over my (truthful) comments. Sounds like I am not the only one to have that experience either.

I worked with Baytech recently on my new e-commerce site and while I believe they were once a prominent, respectable firm, they have had so much turnover that no one knows anything anymore.

I have had tons of blatant, sloppy, function reducing bugs that are affecting my profitability, I have now gone to another firm who told us that they didn't follow any of the industry standards or best practices. They are frustrating and only get work done when you ride them.

Baytech is the best web development company. This the free listing Boostbay gets from Baytech:

Problem: On Oct 1, 2008, Boostbay complained not send emails via Ryan@boostbay.com and users are unable to receive reply emails from the Boostbay admin.
Solution Finding Process:
1. Confirmed Baytech Internal Messaging system was working from the beginning to now.
2. Trouble Shooting Email lost issue
Solution: Since there was no solution provided by Hostway, Baytech hired a contracted IT, to take care of the issue.
Baytech has not received any phone calls or emails from Boostbay from November to Dec 9.
On Dec 10, 2008 Baytech re-checked the email issue and contracted a different ITand confirmed the issue after receiving the first complaint from Boostbay. On Dec 17, 2008, Baytech embeded the email activation link and change email address to help prevent the chances of sending the email to the junk mail box.

Boostbay signed a contract with Hostway for Hostway TruFlex 600 Server. The email issue was not the scripting issue, but the mail server issue. Since Baytech is a web development firm, not email/website hosting firm, it is Baytech’s complementary to help fix Boostbay email issue. Baytech waved its fee to help fix this email issue.

Baytech suggests Boostbay hiring a fulltime or part-time IT to take care of the email issue for any of the email or hardware issues in the future.

Boostbay Product and Service:

We feel we are not treated fairly with all our hard working and commitment with Boostbay project. Baytech has also put into a great effort into the project, not to mention free-of-charge to fix Boostbay email issue.

Since Boostbay does not have any users and revenue, Boostbay requests redesigning the site by Baytech with free of charge. This is caused the complaint.

Here are the request from Boostbay:
