Bassem Zakhary / Misrepresented vehicle
I bid on and won a car on ebay from Bassem Zakhary. Description of vehicle stated "No body damage, no roof damage, runs good." The vehicle is not as described and costs to repair items will exceed $1000. There is damage to the top, to the body and to the interior that is not mentioned. Upon arrival (after traveling over 1500 miles), the seller informed me of an overheating problem. He had not mentioned it earlier. I was also disappointed to find 2 holes in the convertible top, stains on the rear seat and floor, an approximate 3-inch tear in the driver's seat that was stitched in an unprofessional manner with contrasting thread and a cracked front bumper. In addition, the vinyl on the driver's side door is peeling at the window and the door handle on the driver's side is attached with a non-factory screw. Pictures of the vehicle were taken in such a way as to not show these defects. I had noticed a blemish on one picture and when I specifically asked about this, I was told it was only a scratch. This blemish turned out to be a cracked front number. None of these issues were mentioned in the description. Used vehicles are understood to have blemishes, but should be clearly described, and pictures should not be taken in manner as to purposefully exclude the blemishes. These faults were not described, nor were they operant in the photographs. At the time I intended to take the vehicle, the owner also stated the vehicle had not
been used for two years. Seller offered to have the overheating problem repaired. As over one week from the initial deposit had passed, he had sufficient time to repair it prior to my arrival and his failure to have done so, worried me. He then offered to discount the price to make amends for the damage, but I was no longer confident in the vehicle. He then further offered to refund all monies after deducting the realist
costs. He has not refunded any of my money. If I had known of these issues, I would never have bid on this vehicle. The vehicle is not as described.
