My wife, son and I were sitting in our chairs browsing through books when one of the employees snatched a stack of books from our table. I told him that I was not finished looking at them and he replied, "you're not looking at them now". There was a total of 12 books (Mostly magazines) on the table. I approached the manager and complained about his employee's behavior and he took sides with the employee. I've been a loyal customer and bought countless books over the years from them but not any more! Too many other alternatives.

The employees at the B&N in Gulfport are the most uneducated, rude bunch I have ever seen. There was a time I would be there all the time probably have spent hundreds of$$ there. However, since the staff keeps changing and generally going down hill I reckon I won't be back. They seem to keep the cocky sarcastic ones and fire people that I was familiar with who seems to know their job and enjoy doing it. Having a clique in high school is fine but it just doesn't work at a book shop. Many, many people I know say that Barnes and Noble just doesn't do it for them anymore. So as the policy is employee right, customer wrong. Good luck to them this financial quarter if they don't clean up that strange and pathetic staff.

Hmmmm...Maybe you got bad service because you're pretty much a [censor]. Have you ever heard of punctuation? Or proper spelling and grammar? They employees probably look miserable because they have to deal with idiots like you.

In it's own sense, I can understand the book seller groaning a touch at the size of the pile and hoping that you were planning on buying them all. Not going to lie, many people stop us from touching product, saying they aren't done or plan to buy it and we find the pile still there an hour later. The most that book seller should have done was asked if you were done with the books/magazines and told you to enjoy. Even the manager was out of line. Makes me think the store I work at is pristine.

Apparently those commenting can't read, spell nor perform simple math problems. There were three people in my family sitting at the table (also one more non-related that I didn't mention). That would be three books apiece. Also chairs are supplied (more comfortable than at the library) so I would believe that a reasonable assumption would be that you could browse through the books without fear of some fool doing what he did. Also I am very careful to shelve the books back correctly and I am not a slob. I have been a critical care nurse/nursing supervisor for 28 years and have dealt with the public everyday of those 28 years. You are not to treat customers without respect especially for no reason.

so what exactly is your complaint? That you're a fricken slob and you need to hoard as many magazines as possible that you know you won't put away. And even if you say you do put them away, I bet you just shove them quickly anywhere back into the newstand. who the hell needs to read 12 magazines in one sitting anyways?

It is annoying to me that any one person needs to have 12 books to look at. How many of those books/magazines were you planning on re-shelving (correctly)? As the poster before me said, it's not a library!
