Bank of America poor service; criminal activity

Today, I went to deposit a business check at the Muirs Chappel Branch in Greensboro, NC. It was the single most upsetting experience I have ever had at a financial institution. The entire staff conducted themselves like child-thugs; complete with obstinence and face-making. After sitting in the drive-thu line nearly 15 minutes, watching 6 or more customers stream through that were behind me but in different lanes before I was even acklowledged, I entered the bank to personally make the deposit. I found two staffers rough-housing in front of a lobby-full of customers, pretending to kick each other in the genitals, as a line streamed out the door with a number of visibly angry customers. The teller who made my deposit, told me there would be a hold and then gave me back the check I was depositing, a major error, which I'm sure they'll discover at the end of the day. She sent me to the bank VP, Jeff Pack, who was nothing short of contrite and condascending before I even discussed the situation with him. It was as if I had interrupted his internet surfing and was nothing more than an inconvenience rather than a concerned customer. He proceeded to have me wait in his office nearly 30 minutes, only to return saying they could not waive the hold because I had five overdrafts in 180 days. When I disputed this inaccuracy and asked him to substantiate this claim, he said he could not and would not because he was not accusing me of anything. I was nearly dumbfounded but went on to explain that I was concerned about fraud on my account since I have NEVER bounced a check in my 12 years of business there, as reflected on my banking statements. Again, he told me that he could not help me and gave me an incorrect customer service number to contact. Also of note, at no time did anyone ask me for ID yet freely doled out personal information about my business account. When I demanded to close my account, he again said he could not help me and that I needed to go to my original branch in Washington State. As I left his office and walked through the loby, clearly upset, he yelled for all customers to hear "I hope you have a real nice day", thick with sarcasm and hostility. When I finally found the correct customer service number to inquire further, they confirmed that my account was in "excellent" standing, "flawless" since it's inception in 1998. Further, they indicated Mr. Pack did not have access to the information he claimed and confirmed he had "lied" (their words, not mine). They indicated a complaint would be made and disciplinary action taken, including a formal apology to me, but I will be astounded if that is in fact the case. Effective immediately, I am closing my account and will disuade anyone and everyone I know from conducting business with BOA. I hope the SCC shuts them down with the current fraud charges to spare honest citizens from the humilation and abuse they have subjected me to. Down with BOA!

Bank of America payoff and claims dept

My wife and I lost our home of 22 years to a housefire on July 8, 2009. We called B.O.A. on July 9, 2009 to inform them of the fire to the residence. It was a total loss. On August 18, 2009 the insurance submitted a check to us along with B.O.A. for the balance of the loan. B.O.A. deposited the check on August 25, 2009.
I called on August 27th to confirm the check was received only to find out that nothing had been done with it because I had not submitted a letter of intent of which I had no idea I had to do that. I submitted through fax the letter of intent. On August 31, 2009 I called B.O.A. to make sure they received the fax only to find that they could not submit the letter of intent until I gave them permission to do so. Again I had no idea I had to do that.
They finally submitted the check fo payoff on September 3rd. I was promised that the loan would be paid off between 10 and 14 business days. As the 14th day approached I called to check on the progress of the payoff and to request that they expedite the refund from my escrow account. They said that it had to be re-submitted on the 15th. By this time I am unable to think clearly as I have already been put on hold since September 3rd (and over 30 calls to B.O.A.) 9 hours and 23 minutes and talked to over 8 people in India, and at least 30 more between Simi Valley, California, 3 cities in Texas, and two in Arizona. I finally demanded to speak to someone in Corporate and a nice lady by the name of Rhonda in California (I think), hooked me up with Marie in Texas who in turn made a phone call and got the loan paid off within 20 minutes on the 14 th day. I have been bruised menatally from the chaos and the run-a-round dealings with Bank of America. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the State's Attorney General over the treatment and misinformation and lying that has went on. there is a man that works for B.O.A. in Ft. Worth Texas by the name of Reuben that should count his lucky stars that I was not within range of his smug arrogant self. I was pushed to the limit by this lethargic arrogant, little over minimum wage individual. I can honestly understand how some people may be lead to do things they noramlly would not consider. I have been lied to, told I would receive a call from 13 different people all of which has never happened. The real kicker, they won't have my escrow money of 32, 000 back to me for 10 to 14 days. In addition I am getting foreclosure notices daily from them on a property that is no longer there and they owe me money. That's Bank of America. No wonder people go over seas and hide their money.

This is Richard Hobson, Bank of America account number [protected]
I received a phone call from your Claims Dept. that they need more
information on my claim before they can approve my claim.
My claim is that I was deceived by an entity known as "AntiVir" who
raided my debit card account of (under but near $100).
Apparently there are two AntiVirs (one valid (2) one fake; and I got
deceived by the fake one.
They claimed that they would cleanse my software of any & all viruses.
But they were a Trojan Horse or malware or spyware entity and
instead spread more viciously viruses which totally disaabled my computer.
I took my computer to Staples & they supposedly cleansed my computer
to the tune of $99.99. Is there any more information you require and
should I mail it or email it?

Bank of America scam charges

We have a mortgage with Countrywide. We are now being harassed and threatened with foreclosure. Countrywide had inflated my husbands income on the application and also added my daughters social security that she draws from her dad who is deceased. This money is for her care, not for the home but they inflated that also. We have attempted to contact them numerous times to have them work with us to lower our payments so that this would not happen but each time they refused or became so rude that they would eventually hang up. They are charging us escrow when we told them that we would handle the taxes and insurance ourselves and also charging us late charges when on the transaction statement for 2008, under the "late charges" column it is all $0.00. They have raised our payment 3 times. Our contract is for $490.05, then it went to $642.81 now it is $697 beginning in Feb. My husband does not have a job that makes us millionairs, we are just hard working honest people that do not want to lose our home of 14 years but what can we do? We cannot fight this Predatory Lender that is an American Terrorist preying on the hard working people to cause them emotional, physical and mental abuse. There are currently 260+ homes in the state of Tennessee alone that Countrywide has as foreclosures. 15, 108 in the United States, how many more are going to be allowed to become victims? I'm sure we will, we have purchased a 27' camper and plan on moving into that just so that we can get away. How sad is that? America used to protect us against terrorists, maybe we are fighting the wrong ones? I hope that someone will read our story and find it in their hearts to help us so that we don't lose our home and make Countrywide stop all of their illegal and predatory practices.

Bank of America card information used to make transaction at gas station

November of 2008 There was a charge made on my ATM at an Arco gas station at 5am that made me go over (negative), but my card was in my wallet and my pin # was used. I went to a BofA branch, my card was cut up and a new one given to me and all the charges were reversed while they did their investigation. A few weeks later bank of america check card fraud said that my claim was denied because my pin and card were used to make the transaction therefore it was valid use of my atm card. I made a police report and in may of 2009 my account was charged off and now in collections even though theres a pending investigation with the P.D. I called check card fraud again and I asked the lady "michelle" if i can prove that it wasn't me who made that charge if they would reverse all the fees and contact the credit bureaus to clear that up and she said no, that it was basically now my problem to fix and I would still have to pay the amount owed. Who are these people? its $45 that was charge and two overdraft fees, but i am not going to pay for something im not and shouldn't be responsible for. Bank of America is stealing from people and someone needs to stop them.

I just been a victim of online Visa Check Card fraud - issued by BofA. Some $200/- been charged to my account last week, thru purchases made at MSFT Xbox! website!

I instantly made a complaint and alerted my bank - BofA in Los Angeles. I told them that I am now working overseas and cant come or call them - they have to call me or send me email, or deal with matter thru Live Chat customer support. They declined to help - regardless of where I am. Either come to us, or call us! Thats theonly way they said they can file complaint, review, investigate! the fraud!

Daaaaaamn BofA - been client of them for past 30 years, and this is my first incident of card fraud, and this is what I get in help and support. God Daaamn BofA, god damn the entire US Financial System. They ruined our economy, and the world's economy, and now after me!

Bank of America Deposit hold

I have been a customer with since 1982 (at that time North Carolina National Bank) I deposited $855.00 into my business account on 09/17/09, the next day I checked my online banking and my account was overdrawn $310.00. I immediately called customer service, as I viewed my account there was a debit hold for $420.00. This amount did not match any deposited check nor had I authorized any charge to my account. I had several things to post thru the account on 09/17, but the deposit covered those items, but not when B of A put the hold on the account. When I inquired they told me they could not see what the debit was until it posted thru. Today 09/23 after 6 phone calls I fianally learned that they debiting against my deposit. So it looks like I owe the bank money. The problem is that their hold has caused legitimate debits to bounce. The have charged me 6 overdraft fees at $35.00 each. They said that it really was not my money because they had not collected it yet. Well this is a LIE! I contacted all the check issurers and had them check to see if they had cleared their banks. Of course all 4 checks I deposited had cleared their banks. One cleared on 09/18! When I told the B of A customer no service rep this she stated, "Just because the item has cleared their bank does not mean that we have the money, sometimes it can take 10 business days for us to collect the funds. We (B of A) can hold your funds up to 45 days." How stupid does this sound. I have filed a complaint and will close this account when resolved. I changed banks today! I guess loyalty means nothing!

Bank of America is causing me to lose my business and my employees. It’s been two weeks since a garnishment was released off my account. Bank of America was supposed to release my fund 48 hours later right after the released. It has been two weeks that they have been giving me the run around about giving me access to my fund. I have not been able to pay employees and our bills. We are trucking company , now we have to park our trucks because we can’t purchase fuel, we can’t pay insurance and can’t even pay our monthly parking spaces. While they have all the company funds they are talking about

Investigation . Employees need to pay they rents, their kids day care but they can’t because they can’t get paid. The company account have millions deposited through it already. Why now after the garnishment they want to investigate. Try to reach out to them every day and every day I’m getting the same answer for two weeks “ in 48 hours” now it’s been over 300 hours have passed and still no resolution. Tomorrow is Friday and we won’t be able to pay our employees for a third week just because Bank of America and their legal team don’t care about their customers.

I made a counter check deposit of $14,400. I was told $5000 would be available the next day. The rest 3 days later. The dates were on my deposit receipt when the funds would be available. I then received a notice 2 days later stating there has been a delay in the hold. It’s now been 8 days business days and still nothing! I will be changing banks once I have access to all my money.

I'm going through the same thing! They were just sued and had to pay a ton of money because of deceptive business practices and faulty fraud prevention software. I deposited a check for $15k at their ATM., the check was drawn from BOA as well. It went on hold for 3 days inwhich my entire account was frozen. The hold lifted and a few hours later was put back on and the only thing 6 reps and the branch could tell me is "24-48 hours"! Oh did i mention the check cleared 24 hours after deposit? Its amazing having 3 kids to feed and no access to my money to do that. I'm going to look into a lawyer.

Bank of America Unauthorized Charges

I had been paying perfectly thru their auto debit program for 7 months, when they made an unauthorized charge. I called in advance of an upcoming debit, and talked to a representative Kalib in their Brea, California call center and he "guaranteed it would be changed". Just kept saying no problem, "wont be an issue". Basically spewing lies just to appease me. In my experience the representatives there with some few exceptions don't care, and worse don't seem to know what there talking about. They sound like their half asleep. FIA must employ some of the bottom of the barrel front line service people within the industry. I guess it works Bank of America who owns FIA, states its a profitable division for them. However all that being said when and if you can ever reach a manager they seemed (as they should) more engaged and educated. Good luck in getting thru the front lines.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you.

A couple of months ago, my credit card statement from these clowns arrives. The statement arrives the literal day before the statement due date. Paid online, then called to complain. Customer service was not particularly helpful. I have two cards, and this card isn't the one I use most often - in fact, it's a rare month when I pull it out, because of past glitches with it mainly.

So, for the last two months, the card had not left my wallet once. Not swiped, not used. So it was no particular surprise that no statement came for January from them.

Except I had forgotten a website I own was registered with this card, and its renewal fee hit. No credit card statement came, however, until yesterday, when I was hit with a late fee, a finance fee, and past due warning. Oddly enough, this statement hit with a payment due date 3 weeks from today.

I have canceled the card, naturally, after spending another unproductive hour on the phone with these jackals. I religiously pay my credit cards off in full every month, precisely because I do not want to pay the usurious interest rates these companies charge.

In relation to Bank of America and FIA I, as a somewhat educated college attendee, agree wholeheartedly with your complaint. I have done everything in my power to solidify facts about my repayment plan. I am a college student and am poor as dirt and this credit card (originally from 5th/3rd, then bought by Bank of America) was my only means for a year to make sure my education was paid for. Suddenly interest rates were raised, then when I couldn't make even minimum payments they were raised again. So here I am, for upwards of 5 months trying to get facts on this 'repayment agreement' and I still have no idea what to expect from FIA. They call me early in the morning (sometimes 5am) from God knows where, each with a different story on when I'm suppose to make a payment, how, and how much. I have encountered so many contradictory statements from "customer service representatives" that have ruined my credit (read: DESTROYED), and run my debit accounts dry that I often end up in tears and worse off than before at the end of the phone conversations.

I have asked for managers and sometimes they do prove to be helpful (one sent me three letters acknowledging an error on their behalf AND refunded me for fees charged), but on the whole they are just as conniving and unhelpful as their lower employees.

If you are with Bank of America, you can use a chat feature on their website to answer specific questions. Because calls are not monitored with FIA (at least, not to our knowledge!), it becomes hard to dispute conflicting statements . With this chat feature you can save your conversation on your computer, making it a file that you can use to your advantage. I have started doing this to answer any kind of question I have and am building a very convincing case against the "ethics" of this company.

There is power in numbers, I believe. I hope to find an organization that can fight against FIA, even if it is a naive way of thinking. I'm all for consumerism, but FIA gives America a bad name.

Bank of America mang. acct online is a fraud

Bank of America is evil... the problem with this company is they state you can manage your account via checkbook and online but they hold your atm/debit postings back tell a date they fill is worthy of posting. Causing massive overcharges and fees on your account. Be for worned as yesturday I had the account manager of a California branch tell me that you can not count on the online system to manage your account as they state due to there internal system does not mimick the online and online you will not see all your transactions. The bank was rude and said there was nothing they could do since it was there system that held all my drafts tell the 8th of the month even though some of my debits were done back on the 4th of the month causing several about ten over draft fees in the amount of 35.00 a pop. They said it wasn't personal but I have had several people tell me this bank has done the same thing to them and they wavied it but I came in polite and they refused and made fill like I do not know how to manage my account. If you can avoid this company due so with all your might. They are greedy and do not care about there customers. They will blame you tell the end. How are you supose to know that a debit charge that should come out on that exact day would not hit your account tell four days later. They said it was due to a holiday and a weekend but when does the computer for atms transactions shut down? I have made several transactions with this bank on a weekend and never had them hold my money tell four days later in less it was credit debit always came out on the same day. They hold your money tell it is fit for them. Do Not Do Not Do Not go to this bank... You will have mulitiple poblems on all of your accounts. And I have had all kinds of accounts with them that I have gradually closed out due to rude, mean, and non-understanding company. And yes some two over the overdrafts are correct and I was more than willing to pay them tell I had to wait an hour to be seen at the branch and had a manger acuse me of not being able to manage mymoney. Below you will se a copy of my online transaction history that shows my balance being postivie than going negative due to an overdraft fee they charged me and said was for some holds on the 8th that had not posted. Mind you this would not have been an issue had they posted all of my transactions on the date and time they were done. Not waited tell the date the company thought it should be posted. Than on top of that they take out big items first and little items last to add more nsf fees. They are greedy!

This is a copy of my transaction history below as you can see I have taken out the Names of the places but you still see a postive online account in the begining than all a sudden a hit for NSF fees.

I've had constant problems with BofA.

I call and complain and they return part of what they purloin.

I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and The Office of the Comptroller of Currency. below are their web sites where you file a complaint electronically. I also found this organization and filed a complaint with my congressman.

there was an article in the new york times or a video actually. They hold all your debit card purchases and rearranges them from the highest price being withdrawn first this way they can get to the overdraft fee much much quicker. Their argument is that customers want the highest amount to be cleared first. The APR on a 20 dollar debit purchase for a 35 dollar fee is like 1, 587 %. Multiply this by $35.00 x 3 an average for an individual when they only messed up once times a couple hundred thousand people is a lot of money. Its a billion dollar scams like how they scammed our government in giving them our tax money to bail them out.

Bank of America bank of america problems

In sept 2008i talked to my mortgage company at the time countrywide, about a special forberance due to hurricane gustav. I had never been late on my mortgage so they gave me a three month forberance .My arm was going to adjust and i knew i would not to be able to afford the 500.00 a month increase on my note, my husband is in the construction business and things had really slowed down, we tried to refiance with countrywide but needed 30, 0000 . So in Dec, countrywide fedex's a 10year interest only modification i did not like it but we accepted it had it notarized. Started the payments as stated in the modification, but countrywide called three or four time a week asking when i was going to make my payment .everytime i talked to someone i had to go through the whole situation, some knew about the modif some did not.
Somedays i would talk to to or three different people all saying different things. but the hope program knew what was going on and said it would take countrywide at least 120 days to update their records.they never did.
Then in june 09, i was told on the phone my modification was canceled stop making the payments and no one knew why. I did not listen kept sending in my payments then in july they sent my check back, so i mailed one in august they cashed it. Now they tell me i am in review for the making home afforable program but said i probably won't qualify because my expenses were over budget 300.00. but they will put it through and for me to call back in a week. I have been dealing with this crap for a year, I have never in my life seen a business run like this. many times i wanted to just give up. but they will have to drag me out kicking and screaming i won't give up. I will call my congress, president anybody i need to.

We to have also been thru this after them telling us that we first off werent ever late or behind they couldnt help us until we were behind thats BS and a horrible practice but it seems all mortgage co have that policy. We begged i also called hope alliance which country wide said they never recieved anything from them and I assume after the hell we have been thru in the past few months they just plain and simply recieved but didnt do anything but throw them in the trash just about like there notes system when you call them. We called them and when we got no where we offerd then the deed they of course told us we had to list the house for 3 months with a realtor so we did we had to get it pre authorized for a short sale and give them the realtors name an all that jazz Our realtor then began to deal with them and well they treated her the same as they treated us we due to the fact we were lied to when we bought the house thought hard and begged them to help us when they said we did qaulify for anything we had a family discussion and came to the conclusion maybe our prayers was answered by them not wanting to help us we can try to sell and if we cant sell we will offer them the deed and becuz we had done everything they asked they would accept that and we would walk away and lose all the $$ we had already paid and all the hard work we had done to the house but that would be the end of the nightmare! BOY DID WE EVER THINK WRONG! they denied our deed in lou and we are still fighting with them. We moved out of the house and in with our kids we didnt even get all our stuff out of the house and they had someone BREAK INTO OUR HOME and change the locks our realtor called them and spoke to her contact who swore it wasnt them that broke in and changed the locks but the notes on the door clearly said it was them. this was just after we had barely missed 2 payments they also informed the neighbors we were in forclosure which screwed the only offer we had on the house the people were friends with the neighbors and when they heard we were in FC they were scared away they call and harass us daily we tell them the same thing everytime they have yet to file forclosure on us o yea they cancelled our homeowners insurance also becuz they contacted our agent and demand that they add some vacant building coverage which our agent said wasnt nec since we had the house on the market and was really trying to sell it anyways i shall stop rambling my question to you is did you find anyone to contact about there practices and the way they treat there customers? I need to know who I can write for help with these idiots.

Bank of America modification loan rip off

Bank of America recently bought out Countrywide and refuse to honor an existing Modification Agreement I have in place. They have refused to accept anymore of my Payments in accordance w/my Modification Agreement and have turned my Home of 20 years over to a Third Party Law Firm who is filing Foreclosure on my property. This Bank is all about theft of property while their executives have been given millions by Obama Administration for the stimulas plan, however; no one internally knows how is works yet! I have hired a Lawyer to go after this white collar fraudulant company who all hold titles of Vice President.

There has been a court ruling on these modifications by the xourt. The investors in these funds never agreed to the modifications and are suing to put a stop to it. not saying I agree at all though, just passing information...http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/20/business/20bofa.html?_r=1&ref=business

It doesnt matter if it was TJ, or Puerto Vallarta, whenever taking money from a Foreign Account, there is a Currency Exchange Fee.
YOu went to a Mexican ATM and Took out PESOS. then were charged an Internationsl Currency Fee that OVERDREW the ACCT. IT IS DEFINITELY Your Fault, No Fault of the Banks.

Bank of America credit card fraud by bank of america

I am both a mortgage and credit card customer of Bank of America (BOA). Earlier in the year I held two BOA credit cards. Under promotional rates I transferred balances to each credit card. Around March 2009, BOA took over the Upromise credit card program from Citi. At that time my two existing BOA credit cards were enrolled in automatic payment plans with Bank of America.

When I received my new BOA Upromise card, I also set that up for automatic payments. According to a BOA rep, BOA then added a "profile" for my new Upromise card to my online account access. According to the same rep, that process always cancels anything that is set up on my existing online banking accounts. They specifically told me that their update of my profile reset my automatic payment enrollment option to "No." Of course I was not made aware of this, nor did BOA obtain my consent to do this.

The result of BOA's actions were to charge me late payment fees and increase my interest rates. On my call to BOA, the rep immediately acknowledged the issue and corrected the problem, agreeing to credit the over charges. I specifically asked that all features be returned, which includes balance transfer promotions. I was assured this would be reflected in the next billing cycle and that my auto payments would resume again at that time.

Long story short, the balance transfer promotions have been cancelled and BOA has been charging me excess interest for the last 6-7 months. BOA has simply stated that they cannot comply with my request at this time. BOA will not provide senior management contact information and has solely directed me to their "Customer Solutions" mailing address.

This amounts to fraudulent activity and theft in my opinion. I will attempt to contact BOA one last time over the weekend before attempting to contact senior executive Richard Struthers. That failing, I will certainly file suit.

If you have experienced a similar problem with BOA, please feel free to send me a message using this website. To the extent a class action suit is filed, this will be helpful. To the extent my issue is resolved, I can provide you with information about how it was resolved.

Bank of America has solicited me for balance transfers in the past, and I have alway been a perfect customer. However, they have done a complete turnaround now and cancelled two of my cards. One of them was the Upromise, and I had completely paid it off. This hurts my credit score which was over 700 before this. When I contacted them, the young man was nasty, nasty.

Paperwork for the Loan Modification program was submitted last September, 2009. BAC stated I was approved for modification in December and three trial payments for Feb, March, and April. I made a fourth trial payment in May 2010, and was told their paperwork was a little behind. Just today I received a fifth trial payment, then 1 hour later received a Fed Ex stating I was denied. In the interim they lost my paperwork twice, which was promptly resubmitted. I feel like crying, but no one really cares. I'm about to lose my home of 22 years.

I am going through a similar thing with Bank of America. We requested a modification on our loan a year ago because my husband went out onto disability and we needed assitance. First they denied, then in August they resubmitted our application for a different modification. A week after Christmas we received approval for our modification. We sent in the first payment February 8th. I followed up on the payment on February 19th only to find out the paperwork we had signed was sent on ERROR and that we had not actually been approved for a modification. Now we are back waiting to get a new modification in place, everytime I contact Bank of America they transfer me from department to department. NO ONE knows what is going on with our account which is why they keep transferring me. They do this until we get cut off and I have to call back in. I am SOO frustrated and feel like we have the most unreliable bank ever! It's frustrating and stressful in a time like we are in.
Hope things start looking up soon!

Bank of America mortgage loan

I have probably had the poorest customer service experience of my life with Bank of America which has continued for the last two months. They lost my mortgage check, told me to put a stop pay, then found it over a month later and attempted to cash. I was charged for a stop pay and they have not reimbursed. They promised to take of late charge, and would not. They even had a copy of the check that was lost in processing.

I faxed them paperwork three times that they said they were processing. The last time I called, a rep said someone dropped the ball and he realized that it was processed wrong, so I needed to fax recent information again. They said it would be another 45 days. I received conflicting information from multifple customer service reps. i even have proof from a loan officer who was on the conference call. It's pathetic. I can never speak to the same person, because they won't let you. I waited on hold for hours only to be transferred five times. I am not exagerating. My friends and family will be cancelling all cards . If I could move my mortgage, I would.

This is the worst bank in history! Don't bank there!

BOA's representatives are the worst I have ever dealt with. When I contacted them to see why they had reduced my limit, I had the misfortune of talking with a very cocky, rude rep who told me that I hadn't been paying enough over the minimum; and that my credit rating was bad. I have always sent in at least double the amount requested; and my credit rating is listed with Experian as "Excellent". It upset me so badly that I told him off; and requested that he cancel my account immediately. I called back to speak to this idiot's supervisor, who defended this rep! I then paid off the $700.00 I owed them; and I will never deal with Bank of America again. In the meantime, I will continue my blogs about them to any and all who will listen.
They're a worthless business run by "cheeky" people who have no problem lecturing a client - absolutely unbelievable, their nerve!

I used to work for Bank of America in the mortgage operations department and let me tell you that you are by far not the first person this has happened to. I was disgusted on a daily basis at how horribly run the entire company is. I am honestly shocked that they are still in business. It only got worse after they bought Countrywide. They started making overtime MANDATORY at 8-16 hours per week and having mandatory Saturdays. What was funny to me is that... here is this company who already sucks at doing mortgages... Bank of America legacy (as they call it internally, referring to the original BOA prior to Countrywide merger) who already sucks at gaining market share. They can't seem to figure out why though so they just keep buying up other lenders and making them adapt to the "Bank of America way", which sucks to begin with. So they brag about their expansion although they did NOTHING to earn it except rape people in fees on their banking side so they would have enough money to keep buying out competitors. NOW here comes along their biggest competitor, COUNTRYWIDE in all kinds of financial ruins. Where as most logical minded folks would RUN from this sinking Titanic, BOA decided... LET'S BUY THIS HUNK OF CRAP! Then, as if they couldn't get any dumber, they retain MOST of the same upper management IDIOTS who drove Countrywide into the ground! I worked there for 3 years and to be honest I truly can't understand how they are still in business. The majority of their management structure is people who have NO mortgage background to begin with. As a mortgage professional for the past 9 years I can honestly say I love this business because it can truly be amazing when you deliver great products to great people and help them accomplish the America dream of home ownership. Unfortunately BOA has found the way to suck any possible joy out of this process in an effort to just close more and more loans... faster, cheaper more. That should be their company motto "faster cheaper more". Their sales force or "Loan officers" are ABSOLUTE idiots. They are mostly literate but not all of them. Honestly your BOA sales rep probably knows about as much about mortgages as you do as a first time applicant. They provide them no real training except how to take an application and to shove it into the system. I never once had a single loan officer ask me if I thought the applicants could actually afford the house they were buying. It was only just "how can we make this loan work?" Not that I can blame them because their income was largely based on how many loans they got shoved into the system, not how many of them actually closed or continues making their payments. Internally of course they used to "claim" that customer service was a high priority. Oddly enough 100% of our bonus was based on production and low QA errors so that the loans would be sellable on the secondary market. They tried to base it on customer service for a short period of time once however that didn't work out because literally NO ONE could hit the meager goal. That doesn't mean the employees were bad... it means the company isn't willing to slow their process down enough to allow people to do their jobs completely in order to actually satisfy the customer. They honestly just refuse to accept the reality that the faster you work, the more quality suffers. I tried pointing this out to my site leader once and she told me "we have to have both". As if she could redefine the laws of nature (that going faster leads to sloppier work) just by refusing to accept reality. It was absolutely maddening. I profusely sympathize with any non mangement level employee at BOA because we were all like battered wives and/or sweat shop laborers. I've been gone for over a year and I'm still on anti depressants. I worked there last year when they announced to all of us that because of the economic climate, they were not doing annual raises. I found that HILARIOUS since they suddenly found the money to repay their TARP funds and to pay Ken Lewis a couple million dollars. So here we were, the people on the bottom rung, holding that [censored]hole together, working "mandatory overtime" so they could cut our pay and still repay the government just in time for upper management to get nice fat bonuses. Even when I worked there I secretly wishes that the government would let them and all these other big banks just fail because they TRULY deserved it. Bank of America should have gone down in smoke with all of the other big banks and created an opportunity for the little man and local banks to make a come back. The political scare tactic worked though because they made everyone think there would have been another great depression. Little did anyone mention that the great depression was also sparked by severe droughts, hunger and disease which is what helped cripple the stock market which was much more heavily based on agriculture then. Long story short as long as there are still credit worthy people in the world and still some folks who have money, there will be lending. It just wouldn't be this HUGE "big box" model of lending we are so used to today where the end user "customer" means absolutely nothing. One thing I have learned from working at BOA is that the employees and customers mean nothing. The shareholders are the only ones with a voice and their voice is always the same... MORE PROFIT, LESS COST. Whatever happened to slow steady growth by delivering a quality product and earning repeat business? I guess that is just too slow for CEO's who want to make 30 million dollars a year and retire by the age of 50 as millionaires. For the life of me I can't figure out WHO in this entire country is worth paying more than the president of the United States. That may sound silly but honestly, what could one person possibly do to justify making millions and millions of dollars a year? Unless you have cured cancer or AIDS, or have single handidly rescued some third world country, there is NOTHING you could possibly do to be worth that much money. It is just pure old evil greed. The sad thing is that even if it would be possible for one person to create some type of cure for some type of disease, the drug companies would quickly buy they up and patent it for themselves anyways. I truly believe in capitalism however I also think the only way it can work is to allow it to fail when people get too greedy and unfortunately, we didn't let that happen. Now most of the people who have gotten rich based mostly on circumstance, can keep their money and keep sucking it from those of us who actually add value to society. We little people have to quit taking loans from these pigs and start becoming cash based like people used to be if we want to suffocate these greedy ###. I am almost 30 years old and have now paid off all of my debt except for my mortgage (which is now my #1 priority over the next 8 years) and once that is done I will never take another loan from these big companies again. If I can't buy something in cash I can't afford it and don't need it. I want my money to stay where it belongs... with ME! I went WAY off topic from your original compaint but short story made VERY long, I couldn't agree with you more.

I am currently experiencing the same problems posted. I have been trying to have my mortgage issues addressed and have tried countless times to reach an agreement. It only seems as though BOA is interested in nothing more than seeing how many families they can displace. They make no effort to contact me, I have initiated all contact. I was not informed that they purchased my loan from my original lender until the payment was two months in the rear. Since then I have had no luck in coming to a reasonable aggreement with these people have been met with nothing more than poor customer service demonstrating no concern and major attitudes as if I was robbing these people. We are in review process but after reading all the posts from several different sites it seems as though my efforts will bare no fruit. I will be contacting the media and have already contacted representatives in D.C. Class action law suit only seems fitting.

Bank of America FIA Card Services promised to lower my APR, scammed me, then cut my credit limits when I complained.

Earlier this year, my girlfriend was laid off. I have been supporting the both of us on my modest paycheck. As such, the costs of paying for a house, expenses, and various insurances are nearly exceeding my income. So when needed, I have been using a 5.9% APR credit card. This card has a low limit, and I did not realize when I had exceeded it until it was declined at a restaurant. Fortunately, I have another card which has a very high limit, and which I keep around for situations where my other card doesn’t work for whatever reason.

I called FIA Card Services and found out the limit had been exceeded on the 5.9% card, so I asked representative (ID # 90VTATLU) to simply reallocate funds from the high limit card to the lower limit one. She did so easily, however she informed me that because I had gone overlimit, my new APR was somewhere around 22%. The representative then said that because I had been a customer for 5 years and had never missed a payment, that she would refund the charge and reset the APR.

Fast forward to today, where I see I’m nearing the limit again and ask to reallocate credit from the high limit card to the lower one. The representative does this for me, then mentions that the APR for the lower limit card is still 22%. After numerous transfers (including one person picking up, saying “Hello?” and not introducing themselves, then immediately hanging up), I was put in touch with Mark Gillespie, a “senior account specialist” or some such nonsense.

Mark Gillespie of FIA Card Services was able to locate a note about the conversation I had had where the issue was supposed to have been resolved, but of course the representative had never fixed the APR or reversed the charge, nor had she notated that she had agreed to do so.

Mark Gillespie then told me that he would be unable to produce a recording of the conversation that had taken place, so it was now my word against representative # 90VTATLU.

I was very upset at this point. Mark Gillespie of FIA Card Services said that the only solution was to run a report and see if he could lower my APR using that information. I told Mark numerous times that I did not want to have a report run, but he stated that he could not assist me unless he did so. At NO point did Mark Gillespie state that there could be any negative consequences of running his report, nor did he state that he would be running a credit inquiry on me.

After running the report, Mark Gillespie declared that because the report showed I had high outstanding debt, he was going to cut all of my FIA Card Services credit limits down to the balance owed, with no breathing room. And just like that, he wiped out an additional $25, 000 of credit that I had on my secondary card (and wiped out the $10, 000 I had just reallocated to the lower limit card). I am now just a few dollars beneath the limit for these cards, and I cannot afford to pay my bills and make payments on a 22% APR card while supporting two people.

My hope was that with my girlfriend’s job returning in the fall, my financial burden was going to be eased and I could pay everything down. Now, Mark Gillespie’s actions may well ruin my life and my girlfriend’s life.

This is no way to treat a consumer who has been loyal for five years. FIA Card Services should be ashamed of itself for these underhanded tactics, willfully screwing consumers during the worst recession of our lives. I was blatantly lied to by FIA Card Services’ Representative ID# 90VTATLU, and FIA Card Services’ Mark Gillespie lied to me about the need to run a report, omitted the fact that he would be running an official credit report, and never mentioned any potential consequences of the report. I did not authorize this, and I am now deeply personally affected by his malicious actions. Why am I being made to suffer because one of FIA Card Services’ employees lied to me about lowering my APR? And when trying to get the problem solved, why am I then further punished by having my credit limits reduced to the balance owed?

I pray to anyone who can help me in this situation to please right this by contacting the appropriate people at FIA Card Services, who desperately need to retrain their employees on disclosure and customer service. If anyone can help me, please, I am a hard-working man trying to start a family. Let FIA Card Services know they have some bad apples that need removed, and that a loyal customer is being punished for no reason.

If anybody wishes to contact me, I can be reached at [protected]@hotmail.com

Bank of America ripping me off more than $3500.in over draft charges

I thought that I muct be the most inept person on the planet to not be able to balance a checking account. This bank has literally robbed me. A company put a payment through my account for $500. and I filed a claim to their check fraud dept. and Norma (the person in charge of my claim) Indicated that it was not a bank error nor is it illegal for a company that has your banking info to use it and take any amount of payment! I was shocked. But that one cost me about 800. in fees. To make a long story short, It has happened several times, I have stopped payment on these items and BofA still allows them to go thru and when they do they steal so much money in overdraft fees it has now reached almost $4 thousand dollars. I cannot close my account because it has to be at a zero balance and everytime I get it to zero, some other fee or payment goes thru that night and not only does it not close it is usually up to another $300. or more the next day. I have literally been trying to close this account. I have called so many times and talked to every person there that will listen, praying that I find one person that will help me either freeeze my account or close it. But its been over 4 months and I am not back up to negative $754. and I just put in a thousand dollar payment friday and I promise, everybit plus $754. has gone to overdraft fees. I think this bank is literally stealing from me! I have the biggest resentment and I have never felt more violated by anyone, let alone a BANK. I have transferred my direct deposits but the account just continues to grow and I owe everywhere fees and payments since they returned every payment and check I should have been able to pay no problem. I have literally cried on the phone and when I get off the phone with them more than 5 times. I just don't know what I can do?

You need to go through the company that is making these transactions. Why would you not go after them and sue them for the trouble they're causing you?

Hire an attorney and sue BAC immediately. That is the only way you will get them to close your account. They probably can't block these electronic charges but they should close this account .

Alternatively You need to talk to the headquarters people not some local yokel at a branch. You are the victim of identifty theft. You need an consumer attorney not some local idiot that doesn't know anything about these problems.

Also you can complain to the Comptroller of the Currency, Administrator of National Banks, the federal agency that oversees all federal banks. You can call them at Toll Free: [protected], do it today.

Bank of America constant phones calls

I get 10 calls a day from this company it always begins with this is not a sales call then slowly proceeds into one . I have seen as many as 10 calls a day on my caller id and they have NO respect of other peoples time
the last thing I want to do when I get home is listen to some person who can't get out of bed before the sun goes down trying to sell me crap,
I have told them to remove me from there calling list, and instead they increase the calls per day . I am at the point of filing a law suit to get there attention this company is by far the worst to get a call from . I m sure that I am not the only one getting these calls I am on the do not call registery and yet they still call What does it take to get it accross to these idiots not to call ?

Bank of America worst customer service

I have never been to a bank that is worse than Bank of America. Everything about this bank is bad. I am not the only one complaining about them I have done my research and have got to know that there are many people who think the same about this bank. I have never had any problem with any other bank but this one from day one I have had a tough time dealing with. The customer service here is the worst. It is the crappiest service you can get as a customer. You can never get respect here for them respect is like something out of this world. I wish I never had an account with them. They are terrible. Every time I think about this bank I regret it. Bank of America is by far the worst bank I have ever come across. Please stay away from this bank you will lose your patience dealing with them. I give this bank a -100 for customer service and overall too.

Several Complaints here.. I have just had it with this bank. They treat their customers like second-rate citzens even after we bailed them out with OUR tax dollars.

First, I had to fly out to Las Vegas because my Uncle became ill. While I was there he found out that he had terminal cancer and had a short time to live. He asked me to take care of some things because all of his family is from Michigan. He had a notary come to the hospital and filled out a General Power of Attorney and a Medical Power of attorney so that I could access his accounts and safety deposit box. I arrived at the bank and the manager denied me stating IT HAD TO BE ON THEIR FORM. I called the notary and she said that it was a legal document and they had to honor it. She even payed a visit to the bank manager and they still refused. We got the bank form but by that time; my uncle passed. I will now have to go back to Nevada several times over a VERY small estate that will cost more to settle than what he had. In the mean time; THEY FROZE MY BANK ACCOUNT! and put a FRAUD ALLERT ON IT! They had no compassion or care! It took over an hour to get it straightened out.

I arrived back in Michigan and needed a few bank statements to reconciile my Dad's account. I waited 30 minutes at their Telegraph location and finally spoke to someone who told me we would be charged. I was NEVER charged when it was Laselle. All of the kind tellers we had when it was Laselle were now gone. I was upset and left. I went to their Michigan Ave location and waited 40 minutes. Today, I went in to find out why I have not received my current statement and was told "Check with your local post office". I walked out and decided to file a complaint via email. I was now emailed back twice stating that all complaints must be sent via the US POST OFFICE only... so I stopped here... I hope they do not have any other policies or procedures when I go to withdraw all of our accounts. I feel more than an appology is necessary at this point.

I totally agree. I received a government refund check in the mail that was drawn on Bank of America, but I did not cash it right away. Today, I needed the monies, so I stopped at Bank of America at 3821 Minnesota Avenue, Washington DC 20019 to cash the check. The teller asked me if I had an account with Bank of American and I told her no. She asked me if I would like to open an account today, I told her thanks, but no thanks due to other reasons. Well, she was very nice until she found out that I did not have an account with. BOA. She directed me to sign the check and put my right thumb print in the middle of the check. Well, I did that but she claimed that it was not good enough and that I should do it again. So, I did and she proceeded to hold the check up to the window while saying very insulting smart remarks. I tried to explain to her that the ink irritates my skin due to medical issues, but she just started to over talk and talk down on me. She thrused some change into the small window drawer along with an envelope (did not bother to tell me that she place an empty envelope in the window). Well, due to her very nasty rude and abrupt attitude, I thought she just put the monies in the envelope, so I took the change up that she threw into the window and proceeded to walk away. She called me back and stated that she did not put my monies in the envelope. I explained to her that most banks put your monies into the envelope prior to placing it in the window for the customer. Wow, she really went off then. She stated that she did not put the monies in the envelope because she wanted me to count it before leaving the window. I tell you, this teller was absolutely rude. I thought to myself, I see why I never opened an account with Bank of America because that teller was just plain old out rude. Then she had the nerves to tell me to have a blessed day. Wow, what a hypocrite. BANK OF AMERICA, YOU REALLY NEED TO TRAIN YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES. ANYWAY, YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD AT LEAST HAVE MANNERS DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC, LET ALONE A SENIOR CITIZEN.

Sincerly,

Dissatisfied Customer

The entire country will celebrate when this Supreme FRAUD of a bank goes Chapter 11. NEVER bail this [censored]bank out! Put their CEO in a dark hole for the rest of his life.
The problems and headaches with bank of america are so many, so enormous, I have lost count. The worst of all, is their incessant process to block my card leaving me with no access to my own funds. They have done this incessantly and in the worse moments. Try having that done to you when you are 9, 000 miles away in another country, have arrived late at night, and can't withdrawn your money to pay your hotel bill and have nowhere you can go, no local currencies or cash to make a call, for taxi, for anything because the bank has blocked access for you to your own money. Not only is it embarrassing, but it has caused so many delays and losses in business as well. In asia I was once stuck to sleep on a dangerous train station because B of A had blocked my card to access my money so I could not get to my hotel, or pay the hotel bill which is charged in advance in some countries! I was basically like a homeless person, while I had thousands stuck in my own account with no access to it. On another occasion I had over $11, 000 in payments to make for a business meeting in a hotel when B of A blocked my card. Hotels will not take payments until the day of a meeting which makes it more complex to cover incidents like this and payments are often far greater than my credit card limits so I pay with my checking card (or, tried to). I was unable to process any payment, and was stranded without a room to stay in (the hotel wouldn't give me my booked room since they were unable to process the payment) and the hotel security harassed me for two days over a weekend to pay the huge charges - which I could not get access to because the bank had blocked my card. All because of B of A! It doesn't matter how many verifications and statements you issue to this bank that you will travel and not to block the card. They will still do this and there is no stop to their incessant harassment. Everyone hates Bank of America. I hope they go bankrupt and their CEO will get some incurable disease and suffer for years before he croaks, f***g [censored]bank!

B of A has put me in many dangerous and complicated situations by blocking my card, leaving me stranded. Their f***g CEO should be executed or jailed for life.
