We're pretty sure that if Bank of America showed up wayyyy more often on ComplaintsBoard and paid more attention to reviews and complaints, it would lead to better results. But for now, the resolution rate doesn't show successful interaction with customers. We advise reviewers to be careful when communicating with Bank of America and be ready for the chance your problem might not get a response. It's also good to start looking for other solutions if your issues aren't fixed as you want.

Bank of America I am being charged $175 in fraudulent overdraft fees

Bank of America charged me a $35 overdraft fee when my available balance in my business account was $2.92. That fee put the account in a negative balance ($37.92) and then I was charged with a total of $175 in overdraft fees. Customer service was not willing to reverse the charges and neither was the manager. This has caused me major problems to my business.

Bank of America checking account closure - predatory

I opened an account on 9/28/2018 and the bank representative Bobbie D'Anastasio was easy to work with. I explained my situation as a disable person, who was at the age of 36 diagnosed with cancer, and I was looking for another banking option. I'm on a fixed income and disabled. I chose Bank of America, opened a checking account and it was the wrong choice. Today, only one day later after having to take time out of my day yesterday as a DISABLED person - I was told that my account was closed, and they refuse to say why. Once I entered the branch today I was NOT greeted in a friendly way -- I told the bank representative Stan Mladenoski my situation he called a number that told him the same thing I was told over the phone: "They can't say why they closed your account" but to call back on Monday, and they would " mail me a check" back (even though I made a cash deposit to open the account). I demanded the money but he refused, so I left the building. The bank cannot in good faith indicate why they denied me ( I have a clean Chexsystems report), and a refusal to do so violates federal law, as a result I will be including all of these individuals indicated above as well as branch managers ( Dan included) with complaints which have been and will be filed with the CFPB, FED, FDIC etc. This does not end with this review -- I will vigorously pursue actions to ensure that Bank of America does not discriminate against disabled persons and provide proper notice at the time of the credit decision ( again required by law). Bank of America and this branches employees clearly have no issue violating my rights and they will do the same with you, please due yourself a favor and stay away.
Keep in mind my account was open, supplied all of my documents to prove my identity, and then the very next day my account was closed for NO reason and they cannot say why nor will they give me my money back when requested in the format it was deposited. Disgusting institution! Stay away from Bobbie D'Anastasio, Stan Mladenoski, and Dan ( the branch manager) of the Clinton Township MI branch.

Bank of America service

Branch 13700 Riverside Dr, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423 worst service ever! Today understaff, no branch manager and child endangerment. There was a toddler behind one of the tellers. I left and came back due to the long wait and the child was still there. OSHA should investigate this and look at illegal child labor as well. Didn't know BofA was a daycare center, explains why I always have to wait almost an hour everytime I go here.

Bank of America cash advance transaction

I went to the location at 345 Park Avenue South, New York NY 10010 to do a cash advance from a card. I had my work ID that had a current picture on it, I also had my Bank of America Debit card. Bank of America has a copy of my driver's license in their system. The bank teller named HUNNA refused to perform the transaction without my driver's license. I went back to my office to retrieve my driver's license which cost me 20 minutes of my time. When I returned to the bank, HUNNA stated that my transaction was declined. I asked to speak to the BRANCH MANAGER, she came out and claimed that she could not try to process the transaction a second time. I explained to her that there must be something wrong because I checked the balance right before I came to the bank and it had the funds there. The manager refused to try to process the transaction again. The manager told me that I should try another branch. I called the card company just to make sure nothing is wrong with my card. They found NOTHING wrong with it, they said that the bank must have been doing the transaction incorrectly. I experienced such poor customer service, I have been a customer at B.O.A for 10 years but I am seriously considering to stop being a customer there. Bank Tellers and BRANCH MANAGERS there need to be trained better.

Bank of America mishandling of fraudulent online purchase claim

Ordered metal replica items online for $90 (complete impulse buy, but was a deal I couldn't turn down - lesson learned..) which turned out to be from China, and not metal, nor a replica at all, but instead $5 worth of plastic toys. I mistakenly thought providing images and descriptions of items purchased (being "metal" and replicas - authentic looking-) and description of item received (package labeled as "toys", made of "plastic" -shown on the shipping label- with "value of $5") would be enough to warrant a charge reversal. Not so.

To make it all the worse, it took hours of my time and 3 weeks just to be denied. The reason: I did not provide a "2nd opinion from a merchant why the item received and the one purchased were not of the same quality". Are you kidding!? This is not a $2000 TV. And it's obvious what the problem is!

Paid off balance, cancelled card and took frustration out by cutting it into a million pieces. I would think that a financial institution would want to protect not just it's clients, but citizens of it's country of origin. Obviously an international scam, but Bank of America is run so poorly they do nothing but cause frustration rather than get results. Will never touch another BofA product and will let everyone know who even mentions using their services how poorly they treat their clients. Pathetic.

Bank of America holding twia claim funds

Bank of America has purposefully delayed returning funds from TWIA claim for repairs for my home. I have spoken to at least 5 different agents and each one tells me something different... they all where not telling the truth... one agent would say that all I needed was this and the next said all you need is this. It appears they want you to foreclose especially if you have a significant amount of equity in your home... DO NOT TRUST THE PROPERTY CLAIMS DEPARTMENT AGENTS. I put a new roof new A/C units (2), new Aluminum gates and fences ceiling fans repaired the deck and then the property claims department told me I have only repaired 5%. They said the bulk of the repairs are inside but they won't give me the funding to fix my home. NEVER use Bank of America. They are dishonest and are just delaying to collect interest on the insurance checks.

Bank of America checking

I have a checking account with Bank of America. Every single time I deposited my check, they put a hold on it! This went on for OVER a year. Each time, I got a different answer. The FINAL time they didn't release the funds in my account, and my cell bill payment was returned for NFS. I called B of A and asked why it was not paid, after I was advised by another B of A it would be. Her ONLY explanation was, "We don't pay any bills if there is a hold." Now wait B of A, you will let me take out $200 in CASH and TRUST a check you were given, but you don't trust the check enough to release all the funds? NOW I have a NFS from you AND my cell provider. Folks STAY WAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA!

Bank of America unauthorized maintenance fees on checking account

I signed up with my daughter for a no-fee eChecking account in 2011. After we had the account for years, I noticed today that Bank of America without authorization started deducting $12 per month for the past six months from the account, draining the balance. I called today to complain and the customer service operator admitted that the bank discontinued the eChecking free service we had signed up for, but purposely did not send an email or a letter to customers telling them they were discontinuing that service and asking if they wanted to continue with a different service for a monthly fee of $12. Instead they just started deducting the $12 per month, so that our balance was depleted. We do not use this account often so did not notice that the balance was been drained down by $12 each month until today.

Bank of America checking account

On 9/14/2018 I went to a BOA ATM and put $600 in the machine to deposit. It was on the processing deposit screen for a long time then...an error message came up and said items can not be returned and it came me a reciept and it had a number on it to call. I called the number and the lady I talked to seemed unbothered by my situation and what had just happened to me. Mind you...my account was in very good standing uptil this point! After speaking to this lady I was told I would get an email with info on how to followup with my claim via online banking. I followed prompts on email and tried to log into my account it said I was unable to use online banking and it had a number at the bottom of the message...I called and it connected me to the account closure Dept...no answer as to why my account was closed...after the 6th call I was finally able to get in touch with a reasonable person that seemed concerned and still was unable to see why my account was suddenly closed without warning. It sucks that I have to jump through hoops to get something that's rightfully mine. They say it could take up to 45 days...I can't even talk to a human! Each time I call to check on my claim I takes me to the automated line because my account number does not work any more and I can only use the last 4 of my social.

Bank of America fraud department-overdraft recovery services; reporting my name to chexsystems

Hi, my name is Rhonda Barlow and in 2015, my name was reported to Chexsystems by Bank of America due to a money order I submitted into my acct at the time that was reported to them, as not being not valid, which I was not aware of when it was deposited into my acct. I had been a customer with Bank of America for sometime prior to the incident and had not had anything like that to happen, and was in good standing bank. Bank of America immediately closed my acct with no regard as to the situation or even cared to contact me, since I had been a customer with them. I called the bank, explained to the Manager that I was unaware that the money order was not valid and was thankful that no money had been lost, but they stated due to policy my acct would be closed. I was not even aware that I was listed on Chexsystems until I attempted to open another acct. I then contacted Bank of America and spoke with a Branch Manager, explained the money order situation and was told that my name would be removed off Chexsystem as clearly I was the victim in the matter. Fast forward to 2018, I assumed I was not on Chexystem, until I went and applied for a different acct and I was told my information was in fact on Chexsystem, the reason for the denial. I requested a copy and it was Bank of America, listing my information as fraud activity on ChexSystems. I attempted to contact Overdraft Recovery Services, as Chexsystem advised and they provided me the number [protected]) I spoke with a Representative, on 8/24/18, to try and resolve the matter and they were very rude and unhelpful and told me to walk in a branch, I informed them there is no branches in Ohio and the reponse was "it's not there fault there is no branch" and began to repeat the same information offered no other solution, because they could not locate my information for whatever reason. I simply want my name removed from Chexsystems! Period... it should not have been listed in the first place and especially after speaking with the Branch manager, who stated that it would be removed. Thank you in advance for your assistance. I can be reached at [protected] or email address - [protected]@aol.com

Bank of America checking account

BOA continues to display poor customer service with their holding policy on on Personal checks. A check was deposited in to my BOA account through one of their ATMS and BOA has placed an 8 day hold on the deposit releasing zero funds. I have already contacted the other bank and they verified the check has cleared 1 day after the deposit. With modern technology and the ability to electronically transfer funds, I find it frustrating that a major commercial bank would hold this deposit a total of 11 days (Holidays included) when the other bank is happy to verify funds and confirm they have already transferred. The delay is costing me fees and penalties and will be the major reason that I FIRE BOA permanently

Bank of America banking procedures

Bank of America again gives a client of mine false information about my business and my business activity. A call came into one of my bank accounts that a transaction is fraud. Bank of America tried to get the client to go along with the claim. The client well knows my finance manager and told the bank there is no scam. Something has to be done about this bank's procedures. I so far have lost 75, 000 due to the scare tactic. I am still waiting if I will recover the business money and client. If I do lose this client I may have no option but to bring a claim in court for Bank of America behavior. Even after my bank said there is no fraud Bank of America continued. I will have to file another complaint on Bank of America. Pleas stop Bank of America.
