Baby Age And Amazon / Promotion not honored
On August 20, 2009 I placed an order with Baby Age through Amazon. There was an advertised $40.00 promotion. When I placed my order for a Step2 Naturally Playful Sand & Water Center for the advertised price of $57.63 a $9.99 shipping and handling fee was added and then the $40.00 promotion was applied bringing my total to be charged to my credit to $27.62. I received a confirmation from Amazon that this item would be shipped from Baby Age either on August 25 or August 26. Then on August 23 I received a cncellation notice from Amazon with no explanation. I called Baby Age and they said that it was cancelled because the $40.00 promotion was not suppose to have been advertised. When I called Amazon they told me the order was cancelled because the item was no longer available from Baby Age. Baby Age does have the item in stock. Obviously I was getting a run around because I was getting two different stories. Neither of them would take responsibility and have the item shipped and billed to me for the price I was told it would be sold for. The girl from Baby Age said that the advertised promotion was an error and they would not be honoring it. As I pointed out to her if an item in a store is mispriced the store still honors that price. At that point the girl I was speaking to got rude and ended up hanging up on me. I will never deal with this company again. I feel that between Baby Age and Amazon I should have the item I ordered for the price I was quoted. Both these companies are not being responsible. It is not the buyer's fault that something occurred.
