I am writing to complain about my cat that I bought from donna lawver at summerwood savannas. When we pick up the kitten she handled it and it seemed fine and loving. When I got her home it took six weeks for me to even touch her I had to sit along side of the bed and just dangle a toy underneath the bed until she came out. As of today, 6 years later, I am the only one that can touch her, pet her or talk to her - she hisses at everybody else she was never humanized nor socialized.in addition I wanted to shorthaired savannah and donna never told me about the long hair. I now have the only long-haired savanna that exists in the world. I did talk to her about the cats behavior and she didn't really have anything substantial to help me with. I would not recommend buying a kitten from this breeder she does not socialize her cats. Never buy from a breeder that keeps their cat in cages my cat is mean to everybody else and hisses and claws and runs.
I am the breeder Donna from Summerwood. As she states the kitten was loving when she picked it up. It is sometimes hard for f2 savannahs to adjust to a change. Some do well others will take more time. Kittens here are not raised in cages. Moms have kittens in bedrooms in the house. Kittens are then brought out of bedrooms and are placed in the main area of my home . They can be right in the middle of the family room and kitchen. They are given play time but are put in multi level ferret cages in the living area of the home for their safety when they cannot be watched. I have bred savannahs for over 15 years and have many Supreme grand champions including many years of regional winning savannahs in the Great Lakes for TICA. She got the kitten at a large discount due to the longer hair. Barbara signed a contract stating the kitten was discounted due to the longer hair. I have my copy of the contract that she signed August 16, 2011. So stating that she did not know this is incorrect.
