Avon.com paid for 11/02/09 have no avon

I am a very unhappy person about the funraising that was done with Avon and I am a big one for Avon. However at Union Educational Complex in Mt. Storm, WV there was a fundraising for the cheerleading which is under Rhonda Nichols, [protected] and her sister Joy, [protected]. I placed an order from one of the girls that selling this Avon for the fundraising for the amount of $53.41 on Nov.02, 2009. Here it is De.14, 2009 and no Avon. I called both girls up and they gave me all sorts of excuses such as there was no order turned in from me and I know there was, I have the check from the bank from where Rhonda Nichols put her name on the part of the check "pay to the order of" so I know the girls have my money for my Avon or just cashed the check and not ordered it. This a bit ridiculous and not right. I know for a fact that Joy has hauled around Avon in the trunk of her car when the temperatures was really cold here. So I know when Avon has been froze or kept at a room temperature. So either I get my Avon before Friday Dec.17, 2009 or I want my $53.41 returned to me. I will not order or give Rhonda and Joy no good reference for selling your product.

Isn't it possable these girls selling the products for cheerleading got your products and just didn't deliever them to you? Maybe they used them or accidentaly gave them to someone else and are scared to tell you. The Avon representatives take the order from them cheerleaders and put them in. They have to trust that the cheerleaders give them your order and your money.

"Why does Avon continually advertise products they do not have" to answer this: it is impossable for a company to know how much of any product they will sell. Sometimes there is more demand for products than they had expected. This is like getting mad at walmart for being out of oranges. However I have found if I order off of the representatives website it is less likely to be unavaliable because it comes from a different wearhouse with more stock.

I just want to say that I have been a avid Avon customer for over 20 years. I laud the fact that you have finally stepped up in the type of products that you distribute. I just have a small complaint, you may call me a hoarder as I am a horder of cosmetics. On a weekly basis I purchase up to $35-$50.00 in Avon products--Yes, weekly; I look so forward to receiving my products the following week from my representative but, it is truly disheartening that every single week something is missing from my order and/or Avon does not have the item in stock. Why does Avon continually advertise products they do not have when representatives arrive to pick up the orders. I went through the same thign with another representative I had a few years back; now I'm going through it with my new representative. This becomes truly frustrating for me as there are times in which I make up birthday baskets for individuals and/or holiday gifts. That one missing item can make a big difference in the baskets which I arrange for them.

Avon.com backorders/shortss

I have been a representative for 14 1/2 years and I am totally fed up with the amount of back orders and shorts and the amount of time my customers have to wait for some of their items, and I am sick and tired of hearing Avon is trying to correct this problem or a customer service rep saying I apologize for this. It certainly does reflect well on Avon especially when it is a new customer. How do you expect them to re-order with this kind of service. Also I have really had it with the amount of fixed earnings products in the brochure. How do you expect us to make any real money when you can only make 25% on so many items. I want to choke when I see the commercials on TV about how being an Avon representative can give you such independence When I think of the hours that I work and what I have to deal with and what I make at the end of the campaign you would have to give me six figures, before I would recommend anyone be a representative, and I am the top selling rep in my district and have been for a number of years.

Wow. Anyone looking to be a distributor needs to know that IF this is what is happening to AVON reps is nothing short of a form of robbery. Please note: AVON and others like it which are PUBLICLY TRADED are much more driven to ensure their bottom line is in the black. Watch out for what I term 'Corporate Shenanigans' that are 'Bait and Switch' or which compel reps. to invest /buy MORE PRODUCT due to things such as changes to their commission/compensation structure requiring more monthly/quarterly volume from you and your team for example or worse, commission structures that 'roll back' at the beginning of a period essentially putting even top producers at 'entry level' commission structures thus accruing greater profits for the company vs. the rep. This is how publicly traded companies can show greater profits on paper thus attracting more stock investors.

Honestly, while the economy is bad for most industries you'd think a mega-International company such as AVON could come up with something better than hurting their USA based reps. with the examples I've seen here and elsewhere on the Internet! They deserve no less than 50% profits on products they retail to their customer base and a minimum of 10% of all downlines no matter how 'deep' meaning, if they have 100 reps. under them and those reps. recruit another 100 reps each etc. then the one at the 'top' should get 10% off the group sales of all of them too.

I am guessing that most AVON reps. failed to do 'deep' research to decide what commission structure they were really looking for by comparing among the various MLM companies. Any AVON reps. with complaints, seriously consider running some of them by a few attorneys, you never know if by violating your contract, you might have a vaid lawsuit or class action lawsuit against them if they are violating your contract agreement with them.

Also, just my 2 cents: remember ALL of these companies profit through the sale of their products/services and 'get off cheaply' because you as a distributor of PRODUCTS are basically a 'MULE' FOR THEM ACTING AS A 'FREE' SOURCE OF THE KEY EXPENSES OF ANY BUSINESS NAMELY: *WAREHOUSING *OVERHEAD:IE: YOUR HOME OFFICE WITH PHONE, COMPUTER AND INTERNET TO SELL THE PRODUCTS *GAS:IF YOU PERSONALLY DELIVER AND DRUMROLL: *ADVERTISING WHICH IS A HEAVY COST THAT IS THE MAJOR WAY YOU WILL GENERATE LEADS AND SALES FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR MLM COMPANY DOES NOT PAY FOR YOUR CLASSIFIED ADS AND ACTUALLY MAKES A PROFIT OFF OF ANY LITERATURE OR SAMPLES YOU BUY FROM THEM THAT YOU GIVE OUT TO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS.

ALSO, YOU EVER NOTICE HOW NONE OF THE MLMS HAS ANY SORT OF 'PRO FORMA' FOR YOU AND HOW ONE OF THEM USES THE ANALOGY OF THE BUMBLE BEE HAVING WINGS TOO SHORT TO FLY BUT DOES IT ANYWAY? THE REASON IS THEY KNOW THAT MARKETING IS THE GREATER COST AND FOR EVERY 1000 PEOPLE YOU PROSPECT ONLY 1% TO 3% WILL RESPOND AND PLACE AN AVERAGE SIZED ORDER OR BECOME A PRODUCING RECRUIT FOR EXAMPLE AND YOUR 'BUSINESS' AS A REP. IS TO CONSTANTLY PROSPECT FOR BOTH CUSTOMERS AND RECRUITS BECAUSE THE ATTRITION RATES ARE VERY HIGH FOR ALL MLM COMPANIES SINCE IT TAKES 1 TO 3 YEARS MAYBE MORE BEFORE YOU CAN EARN INCOME BEYOND THE EXTRA SPENDING MONEY THAT MANY JOIN FOR.

PS: If you join any company like AVON which is an MLM don't do it 'to make ends meet' in today's economy because your return on investment of expenses and time will make you want to call a crisis line when you find your company will not fill your new orders bec ause you still owe on your backorders!

We have BACKORDERS and they want you to PAY for it in ADVANCE! And as time rocks on you forget about it and they never send the product. And Bait and Switch...that's common in Georgia they always charge the HIGHEST price and will even change the product number!

For those of you experiencing the backorders and shorts with AVON, what city, state and country are you in?

I am considering becoming an AVON Rep. And fully aware that success with any business requires consistent marketing and customer satisfaction.

I am in the Western US, California and Nevada border so, whether or not I can deliver AVON products in a timely manner is important-are the AVON suppliers for the Western states problematic or are the backorders and shorts occurring everywhere or in specific regions?

I found you through comments on Fortune Magazine's article with Andrea Jung discussing marketing AVON overseas. I can't help but think AVON's success overseas is linked to delivery of product as ordered at least 99% of the time!

I am a consumer of Avon and not a Rep. After being a valued customer for many years, I was seriously considering not purchasing from Avon anymore. I have made 2 orders in 3 weeks time (campaign 21 and campaign 24" and only half of my order has arrived each time. My Rep gave the excuse of "Avon said the product can no longer be ordered" and instead my Rep gave me a replacement for some of the non-shipped order, but she still expects me to be a loyal customer to her. It has been very frustrating and it makes me want to blame my Rep. It seems as though she isn't placing my order in time.
Should I have faith in understanding that it is Avon's fault? Should I keep purchasing from this Rep? Or is she doing something completely wrong?

My grandmother sold AVON for 25 years, my sister sold AVON for 2 years, and I also sold AVON for 2 years as well in the past. Recently, I returned to AVON only to be disappointed. AVON has changed for the worst despite technology. I cannot make money when most of the products are late and on backorders. More over, it is unfair for AVON to bill the independent representatives for products that do not arrive in the same campaign. In addition, most of the customer service workers are in India, and some of them cannot speak proper English. It is frustrating to talk with people who cannot speak the language properly and who have no clue on why the products did not show up. Often, AVON will bill the independent representatives for products that do not arrive in the shipped UPS boxes. One spends hours trying to figure out which products on the invoice actually arrived. The business model of AVON does not permit true independent business women to become wealthy. The advertisements are very misleading. Plus, the "leadership" system is simply a "carbon copy" of AMWAY. In other words, a pyramid scam involving "derivative" income.

Im starting to agree. I remember AVON when I was a girl in the 70s, its been around forever, and I do enjoy the products. As a matter of fact it really is not the products that are bad, nor is the company, just like any establishment with more than a few "know it alls" at the helm, we have alot of problem ppl. HOWEVER, I am having my own problems with them, but I like their products and most of my family and friends do too. I will probally continue to be a Rep, but I will not worry about their BS When they send me the wrong product, I dont say anything, just "you didnt send me what I ordered, ITEM MISSING" I figure for all the BS I put up with maybe you should pay more attention to the PRODUCT NUMBERS TOO!
So I will be my own best customer, and my family and friends will continue to order from me and the ANEW reversalist items are my favorite, and at less than 60 dollars for the set of cream and serum which last me forever, compared to the department store and drug store prices on products just as good. No contest. the only reason I will stay with AVON is the prices. And they wont make money off me buying a bunch of BS. I just buy what we want not what they want to send to us. Like I said. The law is very clear. IF YOU DIDNT ORDER IT! IT IS YOURS. YOU CAN CONSIDER IT A FREE GIFT FROM THE DUMMBY WHO FILLED YOUR BOX!

Avon.com rude representative

I purchased some eye shadow and a tube of lipstick from an avon rep. This rep is a relative of mine and for some reason she has been nasty towards me for some time now, like years, for whatever reason, I don't know. I went to pick up my items and she was ranting and raving because it took me a couple of weeks to get my products. Ranting and raving about if I wrote a check and it bounced that the bank would charge me fees and she was charging me an extra $10 and that when someone doesn't pay for their products she has to pay for them. I told her why would I write her a check that was going to bounce. I was paying cash for my products. I told her she was acting like I owed her $100 or something. My order was for $12.50. (i did not pay her an extra $10). She was crying over $12.50 cents. And on top of that she threw my products at me. They didn't hit me; they landed on the floor. That is unacceptable behavior for someone representing a company they are selling products for.

So, therefore, I will not order any more avon products from this rep. If there is something I need, which there is only one product of theirs that I use on a regular basis, I will most likely order via internet and have it shipped directly to me.

Also, I am thinking about calling avon headquarters and letting them know of this incident with their rep. Throwing my products at me.

I have to agree with the comments from the other Avon Reps. I am one myself and I take pride in doing anything I can to appease my customers. With family I usually don't take money upfront, but if its a new customer I may or I may take a deposit. She could have very easily taken a prepayment or deposit. All that aside, please do not let her behavior hinder your vision of Avon as a whole. Avon is a great company that supports many great causes including Breast Cancer Awareness and the fight against Domestic Violence Against Women.
I don't know if you ever found another rep or not, and I don't know where you are located, but feel free to browse my site and yes, you CAN have it delivered by direct mail to your doorstep.

Best wishes.

First off as a Canadian Avon rep, the way you were treated is unprofessional.
She could have simply requested you to pay up front and if she had a beef of you paying with a check she should have said so from the beginning.

I don't normally take checks unless I am comfortable with the person giving me one and I always inquire before cashing the check if its okay to cash it on the said date on the check just in case funds get low for some reason.

Throwing the products is bad business practice. If she was having a bad day, she should not have taken it out on you. It is not your fault that you as a customer are ordering products from her. It's a bad business practice to tolerate that behaviour. I would never do that.
I have encountered bad customers in the past but I never have thrown any products at them nor will I ever.

If she was stressing out about money concerns. If she wanted to, you and her could have both agreed to pay for the products in advance if you had the money.

But as you said: Complain to head office. They will not tolerate that experience.
Also contact her District Sales Manager. If you live relatively close to her you can use the Rep page: www. avon.com to find out who her District Sales Manager is and tell them of your experience.
They may need to contact her directly and perhaps you are not the first person that got freaked out on.

I hope you do continue to purchase Avon from other reps. You may in turn just want to start it up as a side business like myself. I am a full-time employee doing this on the side.

Glad you shared your experience. I wouldn't want to tolerate that either if I was a customer or a family relation.

Take Care of yourself always

I'm sorry you experienced such unprofessional and rude behavior. As an AVON representative, let me first emphasize that her behavior is in no way indicative of how most representatives conduct themselves. She did not act appropriately and truly showed her lack of customer service skills and professionalism.

If her sales were low, then she may have flipped out because she had to pay for your product out of pocket when her campaign payment was due. (Very few representatives actually make much of a profit selling AVON, so she was probably taking out her financial woes on you, the very last person she should be attacking.) Her comment about bounced check fees makes me think that perhaps her payment to AVON bounced? At any rate, even if she was upset over having to part with her own money to pay the bill or even if she had a bounced paymnet, there is a way she could have coded the items in your order to avoid upfront payment. (She could have processed your order as a return, and then had it re-billed after you actually picked it up.) In a nutshell, there is no excuse for her behavior. Attacking customers is certainly not a way to secure ongoing relationships with customers, and it certainly does not encourage repeat business.

I would most definitely contact customer service to find out who her District Sales Manager is. Perhaps the sales manager needs to get in touch with her to educate her on the ins and outs of appropriate customer service, as well as ordering and payment basics.

She mistreated you, and on behalf of all of us AVON representatives who do care about our customers, I am very sorry for your poor treatment! Hopefully you can avoid this in the future by doing the direct delivery option. But let me caution you that ordering off her web site will give her commission from your orders. I recommend finding a new representative in your area and then placing direct delivery orders off her web site, instead.

Avon.com do not sell avon

Do not sell avon... They are a rip off! I sold for about 1 1/2 years or so. Had a few regular customers but unless you put alot of time and effort into it, forget it. I have a "more than full time" job and wanted to sell avon to help supplement paying bills etc. Ended up being a losing venture for me. You have to pay for everything... Catalogues, bags, samples, shipping for returned items. No real support from rep... They only support those that are big sellers! Oh well, you live and you learn!

I agree with the original poster. The commercials make it sound like the perfect work-from-home opportunity, and MAYBE it is if you're actually gonna use the door-to-door approach and literally hand brochures to EVERYBODY you see. Avon reps have to pay out of pocket for way too much stuff, in my opinion (brochures, samples, being an eRepresentative, returning items back to Avon). They have a very liberal return policy, yet the reps are the ones who end up having to pay out of pocket to ship that item back to Avon...not cool at all. Another thing I didn't like is that now in all of the brochures, they have an entire page dedicated to persuading customers into working for Avon as well! Um, if I'm known as the Avon lady in my neighborhood, I definitely don't want to have my next door neighbor suddenly signing up to work for Avon. And the funny thing is that my next door neighborhood just told me that she's thinking of selling Avon...lol. Luckily, she informed me of this after I had already made the decision to quit. Anyway, that's awesome though that there are actually people making good money selling Avon...keep up the good work!

Avon.com thowing booklets on driveway

Once a quarter I receive a Avon catelog on my drive way - unsolicited. I finally called Allison Roe (the representative on catelog) to ask her not to throw the articles on my drive since I do not care for Avon or did I ask for the catelog. She was rude and did not take down my address to prevent this from happening in the future. Went to Avon website to see about making a complaint and no where on website does this exist. Seems like all they want is your business and not to hear about any issues.

Call 1800FORAvON to file a formal complaint. She will be contacted by her District Manager.

No matter how many times I tell reps people don't want the brochures tossed in their drives, they decide to do it anyway -- at risk of ALL our repuations. Because they get a return of 1 customer out of 100? Not worth it to ruin your rep IMHO. There are better ways to leave brochures with people.

Avon.com return policy

I had purchased a travel bag from avon and when the rep handed me the bag I looked it over and realized that is was way smaller than anticipated and very poorly made. I told the avon rep that I wanted to return it and she said I would have to still pay for it and hold onto it until the next order because she has to pay for the item upfront therefore I would have to wait to get my money back when avon gives her the credit back. That could be 2 weeks. So I have to pay for an item that I don't want and now I have to wait up to 2 weeks to return it. That is the worst policy I have ever heard of. If I don't like the item I should have just been able to hand it right back to her and only pay for the items I chose to keep. Not pay for it and then wait for a refund. I think it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it is a bogus policy and someone needs to come up with something better if they want to keep their customers.

I dont know about anyone else... I dont get paid enough from avon, even when they say you make this much they forget that they are taking for all the extras they are sending you so bottom line .. you make $20 whoooo hooo gas money

i agree. i hate when i have to send things back because avon didnt make a good product and i have to pay out of my own pocket to send it back. In what world is it my fault if they are advertising that something is better than it really is. And even if the product is fine and the person decides for whatever reason its not what they wanted why should I have to pay for shipping it back? Avon should without question be reimbursing us for shipping. Just shipping products back causes me to lose half my commission sometimes!

As a rule of thumb, an Avon rep. should never give a customer their order until that customer has full payment in hand. And yes, Avon has gotten more strict now with certain things, so an Avon rep HAS to pay Avon the due balance by the time she submits the next campaign's order, otherwise Avon will put that representative's future campaign orders ON HOLD. If a rep owes Avon $30 because you chose not to pay her for what you ordered, that rep will end up having to pay out of her own pocket, or Avon will put her future order on hold, and this sucks for both the rep. and for the other customers who have ordered items with her. Avon reps. have to deal with a lot of unfair things, including having to pay out of pocket to return items to Avon (when a customer changes their mind about a product). I have several items that I have to return to Avon, and I have to pay out of my own pocket to return them, and I think that's very unfair.

Trica, it's against Avon policy to use the word Avon in website addresses or email addresses. You can get your Avon account suspended if it's noticed by a competitive representative (like printing the "Avon" email address on business cards or posting it on the internet for all to see.) Review the Policy and Procedures posted at YourAvon.com.

This isn't the representative's fault. The bags are very often intentionally NOT shown in a woman's hand so that they look larger than they are. Representatives are having really bad problems with the makeup now because Avon is issuing the tiniest tubes of lip gloss and eyeshadow you've ever seen in your life. I call them doll-size.

I very often warn customers to check the dimensions before ordering the travel/makeup cases.

If the bag looks different, there may have been a substitution. Avon wanted me to charge a customer $5.99 for a bag they substituted for a nice, larger bag. The substitute was small and ugly. Luckily, I had purchased the 'real' bag earlier for myself and hadn't used it yet, so I gave her mine instead.

But because Avon put the Item Number of the good bag instead of the crappy one, I don't even know if I can return the ugly bag. I'm going to try. It's $5.99 out of my pocket otherwise, and we know Avon only gives us a 20% margin on their China-made carp (that's ooh-la-la, $1.20 profit, or read: sixty cents after a senior discount. Why, I'm rolling in the dough.)

So far, I've $21 in postage for returns because I will not put up with Avon BS damaged, undersized products, etc.

That is very hard to make up with Avon's disgustingly small margins. (Don't buy the 50% lie -- that's only for newbies. Once your in four campaigns, you have to sell $145 every 2 weeks to get even 30% off non-fixed price (Chinesse) items. That's over $290 a month for a cheesy 30% return! And if you cannot meet it, you'll only get 20%!)

Avon.com representative

I went online to Avon.com to sign up to be a representative. Well about two weeks later I never received a phone call or email response. So I decided to make another call. Big mistake! Now the representative is talking about coming to my home unannounced to drop off books. You better believe I will not be joining Avon. This was unprofessional and unethical. The ethics part is when she decided to force her materials on me. The unprofessional part was when she kept sending me back to back emails and inviting herself to my home. I even received an email with the representative saying she drove around Winston-Salem trying to find my home. Stay clear of Avon!

I'm not sure I even understand this complaint. YOU asked to become a representative. THIS IS HOW they get you started - it is a $10 start up fee, and they come to your home and give you the basic tools to get you started, as well as explain what is involved with being a rep for their company. That's just how it is done - it's part of the process of getting started with the company, and is common procedure. Your representative was simply doing her job, as YOU REQUESTED by asking to become a rep. If you changed your mind, just tell her you are no longer interested. But there is nothing "weird" or "unprofessional" about it, UNLESS she is still contacting you after you have changed your mind and made that clear to her.

So, you wanted to become a rep but don't want anyone to come to you to give you what you need and show you what to do? Ummm... OK. Next.

How are you supposed to start your business without books? A rep will come to your house and give supplies. You talk with her and work out a time DUH. That is exactly how it happened for me.
If she was bugging you, deal with someone else and tell Avon about her. Don't blame the company!

minivanmom, a point to you for *not* spamming the board with your Avon website. I am still a rep, but I hate the company for joining the MLM pyramid-scheme masses like Mary Kay. Yep, Avon could boot me for typing this. We aren't suppsoed to say anything bad about Avon. It's reason for dismissal.

A rep, IMO, is more likely to be booted for telling the truth about Avon than for being reported for harrassing other reps -- that is, if the first is sales-only and the latter is a Leadership Rep signing up new recruits. Actually, I know this is true from observation. It is very difficult to get an active, recruiting, harrassing Leadership rep suspended. It has to go through a minimum of three levels: District Manager, District Sales Manager, and Corporate.

Ok, I have been with Tupperware for nearly two years, and just joined Avon. I am extremely literate with the online world, and am in many networking groups.

I am a team leader with Tupperware. I can tell you, with 100% certainty, that Avon and Tupperware DO NOT allow that kind of behavior. They expect proffesionalism. They don't know if no one complains. But with BOTH companies, it's right in your contract, you WILL get booted. They can drop you for any reason actually, just like you can drop them. With ANY company, including Target, Walmart, etc, you get bad apples.

Right now Avon has been doing a lot of marketing, and due to the recession, people are starting their own businessees, since they can't get other jobs. So, you are bound to get all kinds! The woman who was the "stalker" is only hurting herself. If that's how she handles her business, she won't have one for long.

As for making money in this type of business, I can only speak for Tupperware on this one, since I JUST joined Avon, but yes, you CAN make good money, but, it does require WORK, and good customer service skills, which apparently this woman was lacking, but please don't judge the barrel based on one bad apple.

Avon does not know that this woman is beeing this way. Like i said you have to report her. You know how many weird people work in 7 11 or in walmart if someone is beeing a wierdo to you you tell the boss and they get in trouble. How about that, if you dont want that lady to come over tell her to leave you alone in a voice so she does understand it. This was not a ignorant comment its a simple way of avoiding dealing with those people. Of course all companies have to be professional. Avon doesn't tell people to do those things and Avon sure cant do anything against it if you are not reporting this woman.

Lara Pinot, I donot agree with your comment. I have decided not to deal with Avon at all. I sign up with people who play by the rules. It does not sound like Avon does. You can not invite yourself to someone's home. I have read other complaints about Avon. Not only on this board, but by doing a web search. No one has to deal with creeps. This is America. Maybe this is the type of people you are used to dealing with. Stop making ignorant comments. Telling people to get over it. There is nothing to get over. All companies have to be professional. That is why we are in a recession. Companies stealing from consumers left and right. Wake up later lady!

Start doing your research on MLM Pyramid schemes. They are marginally legal. Avon, Mary Kay and the like have a lot of power and are controlling the laws that govern them, just speak to a lawyer at the Direct Sellers Assocation like I did. Even the BBB has gone 'commercial' because of the powers of corporations, so you cannot look their either. MLM-thetruth.com is one of the best resources out there.

Your story is the rule, not the exception. Once a creepy Leadership Rep gets you number, they won't leave you alone until they get a bonus check out of you. And that means -- not only signing you up -- but getting you to place initial orders large enough for them to get their bonus checks.

Do you know that Avon's most recent bonus was $25 IF the Leadership Rep could fool you into placing 3 $150 orders in your first four campaigns. That's $450 in 8 weeks! For a newbie!

That means you'll be stuck with inventory you cannot move. I've warned lots of women about Avon's scams, but in the end, many believe that they will be one of the 1% to make a profit.

Sounds like you got wise early and are trusting your gut to avoid such aggressiveness (which is honestly not uncommon; our town is constantly accosted by Leadership Reps looking for marks -- because they do their hunting in towns that are not their hometown in order to avoid hiring local competition.)

You can let her know that you've gone to the police to report a possible case of stalking if she continues to harrass you.

This is not Avon's fault. Just like you she is just a woman that signed up for Avon. Everybody can do it so sometimes you have to deal with creeps. Just report this woman to Avon and get over it. Avon is a great Company. Don't judge the Company by one Persons actions.

Avon.com rip off

I wanna get this out there to people who are trying to get extra money and are thinking of becoming an avon rep. Don't do it unless you wanna get ripped off like I did!

I recently sold avon on different occasions to try to get extra money for my husband and i. So I contacted the representative that was on the back of the avon book that my husband brought home to me and I set up my avon account put the books out and later on found out from my husband that the places the books went they were gone. So I thought okay maybe I will start getting calls or emails with avon. Boy was I dead wrong... The next day my husband goes back to work and sees about two dozen more avon books and they weren't mine. So then I went ahead and tried to contact the district manager for her help. Did I get response back for help? No! Instead I get emails telling me about upcoming things that have to do with the
Company. Then I get a phone call letting me know about the conference call tomorrow night (6/17/2009). I thought okay now I can let them know how I feel no big deal. Then I get a call about an hour later telling me that I can't place anymore orders etc. Because of an issue that happened 3 years ago which was not my fault so I called to try to get the problem fixed. I go to make the phone call but did I get to talk to someone to fix the problem. Again no... They decided to play tennis with me having me go on a wild goose chase and call a bunch of other numbers. They just didn't want to hear my problem. So that's why i'm trying to get the word out to other consumers not to go to work for avon because they will rip you off in a heart beat

You will get overcharged and you will put out more money than you bring in! And im not the only one who had the problem i've had several other former representatives tell me that they had the same problem with avon

I am an Avon representative and Lately they have started ripping me off with returns. In Jan I processed a return and they claimed there was a shortage in it although I am positive that there was no shortages in my return they refused to give me credit for the item they claimed was short. Then a couple of months later I processed another return of a single item and they claimed that there was nothing in the box and reversed my refund! EXCUSE ME AVON but YOU ARE LIARS! I did not send back an empty box...
They screw over their representatives. They are a dishonest company! I'm glad to be finished with them!

I have /had trouble with Avon. I closed my account in April 2010. It is now February 2011. I have been called, emailed, sent packages, etc. My Dm reopened my account without my permission. After closing my account in April 2010, 10 mos later I get bills for crap I ordered in December 2010. What gives a Dm the right to reopen a closed account and place orders on it w/o permission? Sorry. I did nit order this crap, never received this crap and I am not paying for this crap. Sick and tired of call centers in India I thought you were an American company then hire American workers

People succeeed and fail at sales businesses. It is apparent that you did not fair so well with AVON, but there are countless representatives, including myself, who do very well with AVON. It just breaks my heart to see individuals tearing the name of AVON down because of their own shortcomings. For those who are interested in the business, research, ask, and learn and I can assure you that you will find the business rewarding as I have for the past 8 years.

I looked into Beauti-control. You get a great commission like 30-60%(compared to 20% and all the fees from AVON!) depending how much you sell. The makeup is not made in China and it really works and lasts a good while.
I always look at consumer reporting and comment sites before i buy anything. I only saw 1 person that was mad at a beauty control consultant, the lady was not mad at the company or the products. her complaint was also from 2006.
I think it is now only $99.00 to sign up, and they give you a bunch of free stuff and 50% commission off all your orders for a period of time.

Nonniemouse, it violates your agreement with Avon to sell Avon licensed products on eBay. I'm surprised they haven't suspended your account. Which if your DM ever gets it in her mind to do, she will find a reason, trust me.

I hope the Albee statue paid for any Avon related debt and made up for stacked-up inventory in your basement ;).

Avon.com - scam/fraud

Around December of 08, I had a Avon catalog hanging on my front door of my home, in the catalog was a flyer, telling me to sign up TODAY to start selling Avon, to make more money. And it would only cost $10.00 to start. I over looked it and ignored it thinking, 'yeah right'... Then months went by and I started thinking I would look into it. So I contacted...

Avon.com unauthorized billing

I had been a dedicated, hard-working avon representative for about 10 years. When I had two mini-strokes, I asked my supervisor what to do. I was told to pay what I owed, send back those items that were not wanted by customers and those I ordered personally that were not used/not opened. I did just that to the tune of over $350+. Avon had two different collections agencies claim that I owed them; one said that they received at least half a dozen complaints a day from avon representatives. I have the documentation and with this second agency and avon's refusal to let me work for them even with them owing me $70+, all the documentation and correspondence will be sent to the attorney general in maine. I'm sick of their dishonesty, their corruption, and their very nasty and negative attitude towards representatives who have only helped the company to prosper. I'm in hopes that the attorney general will set things straight - i'll get my $70+ back and avon will be reprimanded for their corrupt and unfair practices. I have told everyone I know not to buy avon, not to support them in any way. They are in the wrong!

"I had this same problem but have no idea what to do. I submitted an order and never received the order because it was put on hold and i did not continue to sell for Avon. NOw they are saying I owe $140"

Here are some facts for you.
1. Avon DOES NOT charge for hold orders. They are cancelled within 10 days if the payment is not made.
2. You signed up for the eRep site, and IF you had READ the terms and conditions, it does say you will be charged every campaign, even if you do not order, and you have to CLOSE the account not to be billed. It is seperate from your regular account.
3. Just to "stop selling" without finding out what needs to be done to close your accounts and ensure you do not owe for previous orders leaves you wide open for past due fees AND eRep fees, not placing an order doesn't tell Avon you are not selling, especially when you are an erep, a lot of reps sell ONLY online.
4. CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE for assistance. They can and will help.

I had this same problem but have no idea what to do. I submitted an order and never received the order because it was put on hold and i did not continue to sell for Avon. NOw they are saying I owe $140. There were charges added on for three additional months after I stopped selling for the website, and late charges added on and I NEVER got ANY of the order so why am I having to pay? I am so frustrated and do not know what to do! My "leader" won't respond but continues to send me letters saying I owe and now I got a letter that it was turned into collection. If anyone knows how to help me, please contact me @ brittani8502@yahoo.com

I decided to go with Premier Designs jewelry and I LOVE IT! They are very honest and trust worthy.

Avon.com shortages on returns

I too started avon thinking that I could make money. What a mistake! I would not wish this nightmare I have had with them on my worst enemy.

I had my account frozen for returns after pieces came up missing (Shortgages) even though I had returned the items they told me unless I could prove it I had to pay for them.

So on my last returned box of $162.84 worth of merchandise, I placed sticky notes with the item description, rma #, and price on each one, took individual pictures, took group pictures of the items in the avon box then sealed it shut with tons of tape and all paperwork inside. Well when avon received it, they now claim that $110.49 worth of the merchandise was not in there. I promptly filed a ups claim, called the customer service phone number (Like india can help do anything for us) and called my district sales manager twice that day to let her know what's going on. Well it is currently 2 days later, no return call at all from my dsm, avon now shows those items as outstanding and india customer service told me there is nothing more I can do for over 6 weeks as I am not approved for instant credit. My bill is current, I am currently an e-rep and after reading thing, have decided that I can no longer afford this avon "business". The company has routinely shown "shortages" on my returns even though all the items were sent back. They treat me like I lie for a living and when I tell them I have pictures of the items they get panic stricken on the phone and customer service told me they were there but I would have to wait 6 weeks for them to "process through"! Yea just one more joke. My next call is going to the attorney general of texas because these kind of fraudulent business practices need to be put to an end somehow someway!

If you have had similar problems, contact the attorney general of your state and file a complaint. Since it most of the products cross state lines, we can complain to the attorney general of the united states as well.

I have tried to call hq in new york but can't seem to get past the automated system there. But I won't stop trying,

A soon to be ex-rep,

Joann

I am having huge problems with Avon. I returned items and they claim they were never located even though I have all the tracking information in writing and they have backcharged my account. It happened two years ago and after it finally getting straightened out, they basically told me I was fired.

They won't even talk with me and now apparently this investigation is in the Legal Department. I am not going to give up on this. I will be contacting the Wisconsin Attorney General if necessary.

Thanks for your information.

Just got out of a returns suspension. I shipped a return back to Avon and it bounced right back to me with no explanation. I figured it out why on my own (as with all things Avon related). The labels they send with your invoices are not the prepaid labels, so you have to go back to EZ Returns to generate the label. Unless you want to set your own price in case they are overcharging you for return shipping. (Which, in many cases, I'm sure they are, but you won't know because they don't tell you how much they are charging you in advance of you generating the label.)

You have to be so careful doing returns. One little error, and they will claim they didn't get your stuff. If you an Avon rep and planning a return after reading this post, please go through the online tutorial (under the training tab) for using EZ Returns. Then when you are using EZ Returns, complete the forms for only one box at a time. That is, once your box is full, complete the EZ returns, print your label, print your packing slip, and print duplicates for your records. Have a witness sign your packing slip after verifying the contents of the box. Then follow the same instructions for more boxes. Print each shipping label and ship each box on a different date so Avon cannot claim confusion. (In fact, I would log off my account completely after the first box was complete), then wait a day or two to start the next box.

Sounds complicated? It IS complicated. You do one little thing wrong, like forget the packing slip, and you are scr@wed! So be careful, follow the instructions to the letter, don't ship mulitple boxes on the same day, and -- Good Luck!

Avon.com return policy

I was a avon representative for 5 years as well as a customer.
I recently placed an order on their avon.com website for a pair
Of tennis shoes. I ordered exactly according to their fitting specifications
Regarding half sizes which is what I wear and the shoes didn't fit. I dreaded
That because I knew I had to send them back. They have no good way of
Doing that, they don't send you a return shipping label like some online
Stores do. They also sent me a new book with an item that I just ordered
Cheaper and then wouldn't honor the cheaper price for me. They would
Rather make the customer mad over $5.

Avon.com returns

I have been buying avon products for over 25 years. I recently tried the elixir and the anti ageing moisturizer. I purchased the elixir for 3 months and one bottle of moisturizer. I spent 186.00 on this. (One bottle of elixir was on sale for 10.00 less) I figured I would use the elixir for 3 months and that should give me enough time to see what it would do. Well it didnt do anything they said it would. I called my rep (And she is a great person) and told her I wanted my money back. I had one jar of elixir and jar of moisturizer. I didnt keep the other two empties but she knows I purchased them. She called the higher ups and they refused to give me the money, except for one on sale jar of elixir for 44.00 which my avon lady gave me so I wouldnt have to wait for it. She said she had to argue to get that and I believe her. I am mad, that is not what the guarantee says and thats a lot of money for garbage that doesnt work. I dont know what else to do. I have tried to contact avon, sent many emails and have never received a response. I would like to know who else to contact and how to make sure that avon has to do something. My rep is not responsible for this, I have dealt with her for a long time and she cant do anything else. I want to do something to stop them from being able to get away with this and I dont know how. Please if anyone has a suggestion or other contact info I would appreciate hearing from you. There has to be a way to get something accomplished. I would like to know if there are other places I can report their fradulent behavior. Thank you for any help you can give me.

I am a representative of Avon. I have been trying to get them to remove DUPLICATE returned items that have been in my returns for over 6 months. These items have already been credited to my account, but I can't get AVON to understand that and just remove the duplicate list off my account. I can't use my returns until this is taken care of. I have dealt with at least 5 people and my manager over me and to no avail it is to hard for anyone to understand. My 13 year old understands this! Hum! I am not sure if this will get to anyone, but if it does please call me.

I am an Avon sales rep in Canada. I dont know if there are any major differences but here we dont have to return personal care items back to Avon(creams, perfums etc). This is great because we can keep customer returns and use them as demo products. I get customers that complain about the quality of the product and return them but they are barely used.
I had a customer who returned two orders. Once she returned these shoes worth $20 and said they looked nothing like the picture. She didn't even open the bag to try them on!
Ok so I spend $10 returning the product back to avon and had no problems. I got an instant credit and they recieved the product in time.
The second time she ordered a shirt which she "didn't like" which cost $30. Again, she never even opened the bag! So again I have to spend $10 on shipping. I now dont let my customers order shoes or clothes because of the high cost of returning the products.
As for your situation, here we have a time imit for returning products. We cannot accept products that are almost empty even if you are not happy with the results. Products don't work the same for everyone and this is not a clinical procedure so dont expect dramatic or visible results.

I had purchased a travel bag from Avon and when the rep handed me the bad i looked it over and realized that is was way smaller than anticipated and very poorly made.

Because some customers are treating Avon like they have a bottom-of-the-jar guarantee, reps are now running into problems where Avon won't give them their money back for an empty jar. This is unusual because more often or not, I have read that Avon will do it, but that your upline will encourage you to get rid of the customer because they could get you on No Instant Credit status, and you will continue losing earned commissions on them. It normally only takes 3 days to 4 weeks to see if a product is working. I would use this rule of thumb in the future to avoid problems. Hope this helps.

Hi I was just reading your compalint. Avon should give all the money back to you . As a avon rep myself I have spent many days on the phone to avon themselfs compalining that my customers are unhappy with there produts and I have never had any problems with them getting there money back.
Ask your avon rep to give you the name and phone number of her area manager to try to sort this problem as this a lot of money to ignore.

Avon.com fraud and cheating

Avon misleads its representatives into thinking that they can earn money selling avon products. This is a big fat lie. My credit cards are maxed out, and I have nothing to show for it, and I still owe avon.

I also tried leadership, and this is the worst scam yet. They tell you that all you need is 5 reps. To sign up to sell avon and you're a unit leader. Well if you want to see a check from leadership and keep your unit leader title you have to recruit a ton of people and sell $250 yourself every two weeks, and as a unit sell $1, 200 combined total. You need a ton of people because your entire unit must sell $1, 200 every two weeks. It never happens, so you never see a check.

I busted my behind finding people, put ads in the paper, advertised on my car, spent money on business cards, banners, etc. I got a bunch of naive people like myself to sign up thinking they were about to make lots of money.

Now that i'm in a leadership role, i've got headaches. Calls out the kazoo from these people I recruited for avon. The calls are about simple questions and complaints about avon. My phone is always ringing and I never have any free time. I spend at least 6 hours a day after working a 40 hr job on avon task when I get home. Avon wants you to attend leadership rallies, district meetings, hold open houses, and much more. I work full-time and I have no time at all to baby-sit over 20 reps. To be sure they place orders and pay their account balances. And I have yet to see a check from leadership.

You also have to buy kits to sign-up the people, and you pay for them in advance. Why can't avon perform some of these services? For example, how the people sign-up online, pay the appointment fee, ship them a starter kit and assign them to a leader in their area. Much easier. Lot's of times, I don't feel comfortable going to meet strangers to sign them up for avon, or inviting them into my home. It also makes not since to have to assemble kits to give to people. Avon has online training available; why not require the new recruit to take the training before their account becomes active. It's just stupid the way this process works.

Besides the pyramid scam to recruit more reps. , avon is always running out of products. They advertise stuff in the catalogs, you order it and take the customs money, and then avon tells you sorry we ran out. It'll be 4 - 8 weeks before we get more, or we want be getting any more at all.

So now you as the avon rep. Has to face the angry customer and look foolish and take a lot of back talk from a customer, and refund the money. And you just lost a customer because of this.

Besides this, they offer the reps. An internet website for $7.50 bi-weekly where customers can login and place orders. This is a nightmare. The prices on the products don't show correctly, there's no way to invoice the customer and collect payment, and you get people who search the internet looking for these avon rep. Websites to run scams. They log into, place a big order, and offer to pay by credit card. You take the credit card information and run it through. Avon clears it, then 2 months later, the credit card is reported stolen, the customer is nowhere to be found, and avon charges the rep. For the lost. This has happened to me only once, but it was for $900. Ouch!

I did my part; I used the avon credit card processing toll free number to validate the information and the available credit. Avon gave me an authorization number and I ordered the product and delivered it. So now it's my burden to pay for a stolen credit card that they authorized?

So to pay off the $900 charge back, I returned $900 worth of unsold product I had accumulated over the yeas. Avon quickly punishes me for doing this.

Avon suspended my return privileges. I am no longer allowed to return items for instant credit, because of the large amount of items that I returned. Once again i'm kicked in the a** by avon and out of money again. When I called avon to ask if there was a way to work out payments for the charge back, I was told put it on my credit card and write if off at tax time as a business loss. Let's see if that works. But it's my out of pocket loss.

Right after this happened, I get a call from avon about a customer who has complained that an avon brochure with my name on it has ended up in his driveway and clogged his snow blower. My response was so, what do you want me to do about it. The avon care rep. Tells me that I am no longer allowed to distribute avon brochures in that area and to discontinue the practice of leaving the brochures any where besides the door knob. What!

So let's calculate my losses, avon is having me train over 20 new recruits for free as a unit leader. Avon has gotten $900 out of me for a stolen credit card that they authorized. Avon has suspended my return privileges, and has asked me not to distribute catalogs anymore. So I can't recruit customers, and I can't process returns. But avon wants me to continue selling product to reach honor society and a chance to win a free trip. And they want me to continue recruiting new sales reps. I'm flat broke, tired, and have nothing to show for it. Avon doesn't care.

Do not sell avon if you are trying to make money. You'll lose more than you make.

I had to heal skin contamination.
After opening the cosmetic did not notice anything special. after use, the skin began to bake, tears flew from the eyes, the whole skin was red. I went to the doctor, I got an antibiotic and I treated myself for a long time. After putting the cosmetic into the test, it turned out that there are dangerous to health and life of molds and bacteria. Most likely, at the instigation of my friends, I will go to court for compensation from Avon.
I warn everyone against using these cosmetics !

I completed the forms for joining Avon a month ago and my leader gave me the catalogue and I started getting orders .when it was about to be month end she told me that we have to place my orders to Avon and I gave her a list of my orders she told me to pay Avon so that they can process my order when I was ready to pay she called me and told me that Avon has delayed with my documents so I don't have an account and I must pay for my order using her account so that I don't lose my customers she never explained to me how Avon works so I paid all the full money without deducting the commission of 25% so I paid a lot and gained nothing coz she then told me that Avon cannot give me my money it stays in the account so my money about 200 rands remained in her account and I paid delivery fee of 20 rands and my order was delivered to her since we used her account I had to use my money again to go and collect my order from her. And until now its over a month I have not received any SMS from Avon showing that I joined and still have no account. I feel cheated.

I feel really bad for anyone that has had these type of experiences with AVON. The thing I have noticed is that they have really pushed for the average rep to get people under his or her. And the way they have created this pyramid system, it really doesn't pay to just be a single rep anymore. You do have to have others under you. Single reps that aren't Presidents Club or what have you are really looked down upon. It is sad because I thought the recruiter told me in the beginning, you can run your AVON business any way you wish. Well I cannot put in the time to do all of that recruiting or riding around in my car to take care of my business. It is being done online. The best way I can do this is to heavily promote online. BUT the clincher is that there are soooo many reps doing this already. I do think it is bad that you have to pay for returns (and I have been bitten that way...OUCH!) and books, samples and everything else under the sun. It is hard but I think if you can watch out for pitfalls there are many reps who are doing well. There is the good and there is the nasty. I guess that goes with any business.

My husband and I were shopping for a new vehicle on Saturday July 1, 06 and had a salesperson ask us for our credit card to "seal the deal". We had NEVER heard of such a thing and left shortly after to go purchase our vehicle at O'Brien Toyota. We were VERY satisfied with our salesperson there and were NEVER asked to give our credit card to them.

Do you know if asking for a credit card is a practice that we were not aware of? If so, what use is it?
There was only one reason to take our card that we could think of and it was not for good use. If you need the name of our salesperson just ask.

If you could answer this with a satisfying answer I will drop it, otherwise I will continue my quest to find out if this sort of thing happens often and why.

Thank you for any help with this matter,
Diana

My best friend's mother is embarking on another "make money" idea that she seems to have stumbled upon. This is a woman who I've know for 25 years or so, who is very nice but is always broke and trying to find ways to "get rich quick". I sat down with her and told her it was a bad idea, that she'd make more just sticking with her job (aprox. $9/hr.), that it'd be more hours and that she might even lose money. Well she got mad, but I think I'm right this time. She seems to be doing ok with the job.

Anyway, I saw how you have to pay for the products UP FRONT and pay for the advertising. This last part to me was a big no-no. I mean if the company was legit they'd just hire her and pay her a wage/salary. Instead they seem to be willing to take any willing body.

Why? Seems to me there's NO cost to AVON because the "sales rep" pays for everything anyway, the parties, gas, advertising, the product itself! Seems there's everything in it for AVON and she might make $1-2/hr. if she busts her butt at this. Not worth it it seems because the seller is paying themselves a (very small) comission and the company is getting time and labor for free.

So am I right that this is a scam? I mean, she's already shelled out $600 (which she doesn't have) and I told her she'd have to sell over 200 products just to get her upfront expenses back and everything thereafter might make her a couple bucks...maybe, but I still think even if she worked full time or more she'd come out with $100 profit, possibly even lose money or be stuck with things she can't sell or will get screwed by the company on. Not worth it.

I have been selling Avon for almost 3 years...yes I have issues with them but honestly its not a perfect world. Im honor society within 1 year..because i worked at it by keeping a schedule and providing stabilty. I dont get rich but i do net profit $800 a month on a good month. Sometimes I order more for myself so i make less...then there are times my sales r down and i bately make $100. I get frusterated bc there is an issue almost everytime..but most times if it comes easy its not worth having! I love my customers and my avon business...i dont do leadership..tried it didnt like it so i settle for mh money i make on ordering! Its not all bad and once you get your loyal customers built up its easy peezy.I guess its really expectations and effort. Any business is going to have issues with returns and billing. Avon is #1 in the world!

I started selling Avon in 1981. I did well with it because I bought books, handed them out, and then followed up on the orders. If some idiot manager asked me to commit to 50 bottles of cologne I would say NO. I rarely got stuck with orders and I could always send things back that someone didn't want. It's commission based sales. You don't put al your money In their pockets. If you can't even sell Avon than STAY OUT OF SALES. Ofcourse you can make money selling Avon, if you know what the hell you're doing.

I signed up as a rep for Avon in December 2015. I never heard from anyone in my upline. I ordered samples and brochures to start my business and paid them in full. I then ordered the $35.00 kit and received a bill for $110.23. I contacted them and they told me it's what I owed. I told them to close my acct. and am still waiting.

Avon.com scam and cheating

I am writing this about my friend who is an avon consultant. She is the one who signed up with the company, but she lets me use her discount. She has previously sold avon (Me too) , but she decided to sign up again for the discount on products. When she first told me she was going to sign up she mentioned from the previous time she was a consultant that she owed them money. They tried calling her for a few weeks, she never paid and they just quit calling. So we talked about and both agreed that if it was still on file that she owed money they would mention that as they were putting her in the system, right? Wrong.

Instead, she ordered her first campaign and everything went smoothly. Second campaign I found about $200 worth of stuff I wanted just for myself (Not including what she ordered for herself, and other customers). She didn't have all the money right away, so I let her use my credit card to pay off her consultant balance so the products would ship (Since I owed her money for my products anyways). There was a first payment of $75. We check for a tracking link a couple days later, and it hasn't shipped.

According to customer service there was $7 that still needed to be paid before everything was shipped. So I let her use my card again to pay the $7. Couple days later still no tracking link, nor has it shipped. She calls the district manager, denise ley, several times, and emails her several times without a response. Finally a week or 2 goes by and she gets ahold of denise who says that avon is keeping the money we paid ($82) and we weren't getting our products because of the money my friends owes from when she was a consultant previously. Yes, my friend was wrong in not paying them off years before from when she was a consultant, but they have not even offered us to pay the $40 she owed previously to get our stuff. End of story, no option to get our stuff. They are keeping the $82, and we aren't getting anything.

Well I have several times utilized the dispute a credit card charge before and everything always ends up working out... So that is our next option. She is going to try calling them (Corporate, since denise won't help us at all) again tomorrow, and if no answer by wednesday I said i'm disputing the charge and lets see what avon has to say to my credit card company. I have this feeling that what they are doing is illegal. It would be *reasonable* to say that if she paid the $40 she owed from being a consultant years ago that we would get our things, we/she would. We have absolutely no problem paying the $40 previously owed to be able to get our stuff. But I think it's common sense they can't just say they are keeping all $82 and we're getting nothing, with no option to pay the $40 owed? I have this feeling I will be calling my credit card company in a few days. I'll post an update and let you know what happens.

Avon.com avon refund guarantee

I have been purchasing avon products from someone who is not refunding the money back to me for an anew product that did not go well with my skin. He keeps making excuses that it takes a while for it to be credited to his account, which I know is a lie. The same time you put in for your next order, you also put in for the return, which is then credited back to your account, on the next order. Well it has been over 4 weeks and I am still being brushed off by this guy.

Who can I contact to report him? How do I get the money back from avon, who has this "money back guarantee"?

The city he lives in is fresno, california. If anyone can please help me by giving me some kind of suggestion? I try calling the avon office and no one ever answers the telephone. No one has ever called me back after all the messages i've left.

Dont let one bad experience with a bad rep get to you. Try and look for someone new in your area. You can even order it from a rep thatis not near you online and pay by credit card and it can be shipped right to your door for you. I hope you can find a good rep that understands what samples do to help there business. Me being a rep I want samples to try alsoso I can tell my customers about the product. It I have my own full products I will take it over to the customerand show them directly.

I'm sorry that you guys had unpleasant experiences, but at the same time many people don't realize how much an Avon rep. has to pay for out of pocket. It really makes you ask yourself if it's even worth it to be a rep. Reps have to pay for those samples that you ask him/her for, as well as the brochures, a $7 late charge for orders submitted after the deadline, various sales tools, and for returning unwanted items back to Avon. I'm sure every Avon rep has at least one story about a customer who ordered a crapload of stuff and then never paid for it, leaving the rep with the choice of either 1) trying to sell all the items to others or 2) having to pay to have it all shipped back to Avon. When you take all those things into consideration, in addition to earning only 20/30% on items, it's hardly worth it. I quit recently, but I am glad that there are reps out there making a great living as a rep. :)

now you have to pay for your order up front unless you have a good credit line and that good, get the money up front before the order goes in. a rep shouldn't get stuck with products some one has order if they pay for it up front, then they get . cant back out. or they lose there money . as a rep my self i only pay for what i order for me . and i always give out sample i want them to try it like it an order it. so what i pay for in sample and full products i make that back buy them ordering it. i haven't had any refunds yet. . if someone order something and it dont come in. because they were out. i just ask them if they want to order something else or i will give then a discount on the next order .off..

Thank you for that customer service number. I did not realise that the reps do not have to accept any returns. I've been an Avon customer for more than 35 years and had always been offered samples and the chance to return any items, but not from my current rep. She claims samples are no longer offered, but I checked on line and Avon still has the "try befor you buy" advertised, and now she is ignoring me when I need to return something. What gives? I guess I have to change reps or stop buying Avon.

If the rep will will not refund your money, you need to call Avon directly. Customer Service will take all your information and then a supervisor will contact you about the return.
Reps DO NOT have to accept returns, they are independent sale people, and that is their choice.
Avon is the one with the "money back guarantee".

Actually, not everyone gets instant credit for returned items. Some reps have to wait for Avon to receive and process the return, which takes up to six weeks. (I find it takes 2-3 weeks.)

I keep getting put on temporary suspension (they suspend you if you wait to accumulate a box full of returns before shipping them back, and some of the credit requests are aging as a result.) So last time I returned a small batch just to get 'released' and it cost me $6 to ship a very small package (vs. $7-9 for a large one.)

Avon.com - not allowing sales reps to come back

I sighned up to be a sales rep for avon about 2 years ago... My son feel seriously ill and was hospitalised for months. I fell behind in my payments and when my son was better and well I payed them back. (Every cent) I not that long ago asked to sighn up again. I was 100% honest about falling behind in my payment as my son was sick and she told me it...

Avon.com - becoming a sales rep is a big mistake

I signed on to become a representative for avon. It was only $10.00 and seemed like a great deal because you order product first and pay on a billing system. (Other companies you pay lots of money upfront). You attend meetings with other reps and learn about sales. I found out where avon makes money. Selling to reps. They offer this really great deal, so...

Avon.com poor treatment of customers

To whom it may concern, I went to gerdt furniture with my daughter to look at new sofa sets with the intention of buying one for my family room. I was in the store for at least 40 minutes. Not one time did anyone welcome us or ask us if they could be of assistance to us. Upon leaving the store three of the women that work there were sitting up front just laughing away until we got closer to them then all three looked down from us, no have a good evening or was there anything you were interested in? I know I was not dressed up or look like I could afford to shop there but there is an old saying about not judging a book by its cover. Not everyone dresses up before shopping and these ladies need to think about this. The treatment I and my daughter received from them cost the store a sale.

Avon.com - avon gives you bad credit ratings for no reason

I am writing this letter in response to avon's irresponsible mismanagement of my account. I joined avon in nov 2001, due to the persuasion of the team manager that since I ordered a fair amount each month I may as well get my discount. I wasn't able to order every month so I attempted to cancel my account in sept 2001. So when I recently received a letter...
