Avenue Clearance Rectification / Emails Demanding Money

1 United States Review updated:

I received an email this morning from "committee@avenueclearancerectification.Com stating that i had defaulted on an internet agreement. They are demanding payment as of today in an unreasonable amount. I asked to see a contract, but they have yet to send one. The only thing they keep sending me has my information on it along with my address. I think it may be something that i applied for along time ago but never received. I will be checking with my bank tomorrow as well. They will only reply back to emails and i have tried to get a name from them and they will not give me that or a phone number.

This is a scam do not pay them, this email has been sent to many people. I am debt free, yet I owe them money? and they have my SSN! I replied "yes" to try and get their information to pursue legal action. Lets see what happens!

I received the same email today saying that I owe $1, 110. They have my maiden name and social security number, like that scares me. The email doesn't specify to what agency or account that is supposedly in default.
The lack of contact info, no company logo, no name of representative or department to contact, and spelling/grammar errors lead me to believe it's all a phony. I wouldn't pay them a dime!

My husband got the same email as did Tiffany Cummings. They want $1, 110 for a payday loan he was supposed to have gotten and they have his SSN but it's my email address. The guy gave me his supposed name as David Johnson but I was never given the name of the place where he was to have borrowed this money. We closed our bank account due to being hacked 3 times in a year where people were taking large amounts of money out of the account. The guy told me that my husband had several loans over the last 36 months. Hahaha! He hasn't . I'm not going to pay this and I'm not telling my husband until I just have to which I pray that day never comes. Several sentences were not in the correct context in the letter.

I got the exact same email on the 11th of May. I played along with David Johnson (or whoever) for a few email exchanges, over the course of 3 days. He refused to provide me with any of the documents I requested, which I said I would forward to my attorney. He then became angry and demanded my attorney's "reference number" and he'd give him the information himself. A few days passed without any communication from him, until this morning. He claims he is going to have me arrested. This is all a scam. I did not take out a payday loan for $400.00, in June of 2015. That is his claim. Failure to pay has now accrued all of the penalties and I now owe $1, 100.00. Do not pay these people. I am filing a report with the police department, this afternoon.
