Auto Portfolio Services closed and repo my car

I bought my car in January of 2013. I payed my loan one month ahead each month. Then recently, I couldnt pay my loan online any more or reach anyone at the office and I received no mail telling me that they were closing and who or where to send payment.
Today is February 28th, 2014 and on Tuesday, they repo my car and gave me no paper work to go with it. I have been good on my loan and now i have nothing to show for it. I am 61 years old and I am disabled and with no warning they came and took my car. I wish I could get my money back. What a scam!

Auto Portfolio is a predatory lender that preys on people that are gong through difficult financial times. For a $1600 loan, they charged a woman I know $990.99 in interest, just over a 6 month period. Plus, they charged her with a $90.00 late fee. In all, she ended up paying them over $3200.00. This company needs to be put out of business..

I was suckered yesterday by a couple of boys about 16 years old. They gave me the usual line about a trip to Italy and getting points for the trip from selling mags etc; I would not have bit but they said the mags could be sent to the armed forces. The price was way more than I expected and then on top of that was a $15 dollar handling fee. Anyway, I am now $57 dollars lighter and don't think that I will be seeing my money again. Watch out Steamboat Springs they are here.

I can never more agree with u also. I am fuming mad as I learned that as of 12/17/2010 these crooks have bought my loan from pelican resource group both of these companies are a big joke . Please never do business with either they are a scam . I spoke to a rep at pelican 12/2/2010 to make an arrangement to send half of my payment by 12/12/2010, and the other half by 12/24/2010 . Well in January I recieved a bullcrap letter stating that I am no longer to contact pelican as of 12/17/2010 and that aps is now my loan servicer. I sent over one thousand dollars to cover my payments until March and how about these crooks are telling me that pelican never reported my december payment and my account is pass due for the amount of half of my payment that I sent in December and they want me to fax proof even after I gave them the money gram transfer numbers. It is now March and they are still calling me saying that I am past due . tonight I spoke to some one at pelican resource group and they told me I could call aps tomorrow and let them know that I spoke with Jinny at pelican and Kim from aps is to get in contact with her to resolve the issue, Get a Load of That! The story goes on but as It gets worst I will post more. But one thing for certain two things for sure I have to get a new car and put these crooks behind me! The owners of both companies should be arrested for grand theft! To all who read this before u buy a car investigate the dealership and the finance companie before u sign on the dotted line because u just may end up in a mess like this!

I agree 100% with you. My payments have been on time since Jan 2004. July 2009 I received no statement from Peak 5. Finally got one in August 2009, guess what I was behind. I have had nothing put trouble from this company. I call and am directed to a supervisor, all I get is an answering machine and no call back. I am 3 months from paying my loan off and now I have a repo guy showing up wanting to pick up my vehicle. WTF! I am current! I have had hide my vehicle because no one will call me back.

Auto Portfolio Services falsifying documents

auto portfolio claims that they have taken over for peak5 but yet its all the same people. When I sent a release of lien to centrix funds to Colorado at peak 5 address, a woman who claims she works for centrix funds refused to sign off on my title claiming I have to call auto portfolio services and the address and number at the bottom of the page. When I did this it was a number for an adult phone sex line! swear to god! She also lied about the date when she recieved my certified mail and backdated it by two full weeks? little did the stupid ### know that I have proof of when she received it and I also looked up her background information and she works for Peak5! as well as centrix, but lied on the form. Total fraud! this company will go down. Also, it's investors were told of the apparent going out of business and closing shop but its clients who pay them their car payments were not told.

Peak5 lied on interviews and made statements to various magazines and credit unions that letters were sent out to people when indeed they were not.

SO to the lying ###: Ms. Donna Wood Stallsworth Director of title services at peak5

Your fraudulant backdated letter and proof of signature on a certified letter that you tried to snake by with just a scribble has been validated as being signed by you and your failure to provide me with information requested and to be given by law constitutes fraud and allows me to continue with my lawsuit for violating FTC laws.
Oh! and as for directing me to call a phone sex line? the AG's office is going to just Love that one.

Auto Portofolios supposedly took over accounts for SCM. But what I cannot understand is if they legally took over accounts how is it they did not have my social security number. When I called to check status of account and did not have my account number available, I gave my social security number. At this time they informed me they had no accounts under that number. When I called and spoke to someone else they had two different numbers under my name, (CSR jotted down what number she thought she heard). Because I no longer believed this company was legitimate I no longer made payments, now they are reporting on my credit report. Are they able to do this since I have no contracts with them? I am seeking legal representation to bring a claim against them.

Auto Portfolio Services Switch from Peak 5

I was unaware of the switch between Peak5 and this new company. I found out when the check I had sent them was returned almost a month later! I am so tired of this company switching names! I am going to go out today in hopes of finding another car just so I do not have to deal with them anymore!

I am having the same problems with this company they are so rude and disrespectful I have been with them since I purchase my vehicle in 2004 I have a 2003 ford explorer and they have also lost my checks before when they were centrix they are very very unprofessional I did not here from them when they switch from peak 5 to Auto Portfolio for a month in a half I called no phone number available I tried the internet no site no available statements were mailed out to me. I fell behind on my notes because of no contact with them and financial difficulties mine me now! I was paying on time every month I have a fairly decent paying record. I owe these people 5, 000 a few hundred with that. They are in the process of reposessing my vechicle I am not 3 months behind I owe them 1 payment and a little over half and i continue to make my regular payments on time and add more with that for the back balance and they will not work with me. The person that handles my account hung up in my face when i told him i had that truck for 5 yrs and said you cannot work with me even the customer service reps are riduculous they are going to continue to switch companies until they get it together. It is very scary to send money through the mail I pay a extra $9.50 a month which I dont have going through moneygram. My statements are also screwed up They are a hot mess but I know my rights!

I have experienced the exact same problems with this loan company or should I say companies. To this day I have only received one letter of acknowledgement of that fact that they even have my loan. I too, had a check returned a month and a half later to find out that Peak5 no longer was the carrier. I never get statements. I am almost afraid to send any money to them for fear that it may not end up on my account. It is definitely scary.

I am absolutely done with this company. I purchased my car in 2003 when it was brand new. It is almost 2010 and they said I still owe $5, 222.00! The company's name has gone from Centrix, to Flat Iron, to Peak 5 and now to Auto Portfolio Services! It is all the same people and they are all still very rude. I am so glad that I traded that car off last week and got a new car. My lien holder is a local company and their office is less than 10 minutes from my home. I do not recommend this company to anyone. To anyone that is still unfortunately having to deal with these people, my best advice to you is to get out while you can! Why won't the US government do something about this company?

I am in the military and these people just don't know how I almost got into a world of trouble trying to explain to my supervisor and other higher ups as to why I was behind on my auto loan especially when you have an allotment setup! Auto Portfolio Services no notification on the vehicle loans

I have been making my payments to Peak 5 for several years now, I did not receive my bill or statement, for the month of July. Auto Portfolio Services took over in June & failed to notify everyone of the changes that had been made recently. I have never missed a payment since I bought my car, & today when I FINALLY received my bill, I am now a month behind. Peak 5 went under in May, & Auto Portfolio Services took over in June - that's when I sent in my last payment & Auto Portfolio Services cashed it. Today I FINALLY received my bill for well over 1000.00, & the due date is for July 19th, today is August 9th, so not only did they double the payment & then back date it, but now I have to make another payment in August, & I also noticed that there was no pay off balance on my statement either, so where can I go to get the correct balance before I make another payment? Auto Portfolio Services should cover the payment that is due for the month that nobody received a bill for, we should not have to be punished for their mistake.

This company just took over our loan. We have had nothing but trouble with them and they cahrges us an huge late fee when we never got a bill and had been calling asking for one. They charge 159.00 if you are late 1 day. The pay off amount on our bill is one amount, then when we call, they give us an amount much higher. They are extremely rude and I can not wait until this car is paid for. I DO NOT TRUST THEM.

I originally had a loan with Centrix then sold to FlatIron. Never heard of Peak 5. Apparently they all went out of business. I have been paying to a company called the Professional Bureau of Collections located in Englewood, CO. Checked my credit report and this Auto Portfolio Service is on my TransUnion only for the original amount of the car loan but it just appeared/reported in Feb. 2011. Has anyone had a resolution? I don't want to give anyone payments anymore. It seems as though they are all scams.

They are saying that you still owe money because they do not hold liens on these autos and they know that when you pay it off, they will not have a title to give you. You need to demand proof of a title and pay no more money!

IM'M NOT SURE IF PEOPLE ARE STILL COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS BUSINESS, BUT I GOT BEHIND IN MY CAR PAYMENT DUE TO A FINANCIAL CRISIS. MY ACCOUNT WAS PUT INTO COLLECTIONS BUT THEN I PAID IT CURRENT. THE SAD PART ABOUT IT IS THAT IM STILL IN COLLECTIONS. EVERYTIME I CALL THEY PUT INTO COLLECTION VOICE MAIL. I LEAVE A MESSAGE AND NO ONE CALLS BACK! THE ONE TIME THAT I DID SPEAK TO "JUSTIN" HE DIDNT EVEN HAVE MY PAYMENT DATE RIGHT STILL SAYING I OWE MONEY! WHAT IS THIS COMPANY REALLY ABOUT?

I am in the same boat, my payments were on time or just ahead with Peak5, then in august of 09 I recieved a invoice for 2 payments and I paid them. but every invoice shows that I owe 2 payment, now I sent feb payment in and it is now march and they are still calling me for that payment, they have not cashed the check, but the march payment is due. It is also not showing on my credit report that I have a car loan.

i agree this is ridiculous, i havent been able to contact anyone and really am in fear of the fact that because they are not able to take care of business do i run the risk of my car being repossesed, this is my wifes transportation and because they are not doing what they are suppose to do is putting us all in a bad situation, times are to hard to just give money away with no proof of where its going . has anyone ever paid off a car with these people and received a clear title ?

I think several of us are in the same boat. I made my June payment and never received a July statement. To my surprise I went online to find out the company went out of business. I never received a July statement and a couple of days ago I received a statement in the mail from Auto Portfolio Services asking for two payments. To add to this there is no balance of what I owe on the statement, nor did it reflect my June payment. I think we all need to ensure we do our part with contacting the Federal Trade Commission with our complaints. I will not send any money to anyone until I have a legal binding documents that proves this company is legally able to collect my money and provide proof of my title.

Your best bet is to make a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission as I did today. I work too damn hard to be sending off money to some fly by night company, and yes these are all the same companies. Don't be fooled. The FTC will investigate further if there are enough complaints.
They're contact number is [protected]. Don't bother with anyone else, like the Sec. of State, Attorney General, Banking & Finance ect. I have already called them and they all said I needed to file a complaint with the FTC. And not only that APS, Peak 5, Flatiron, and Centrix most likely never had a license or permission to collect money from you in your state, as they weren't in the state I reside in. I think my next step is to contact a class action attorney...I'm sick of playing these cat and mouse games.

Auto Portfolio Services Demand payment

My mother never had a payment issue with Peak5 until July 2009 when there as no payment taken out of her account. We were never notified that the company went out of business. I tried on her bahalf to get thru a web page or by phone and no such luck as the page was down and the phone had a busy signal at all times of the day.

I contacted the local TV station and they advised me to write a demand letter requesting contact from them to her. A letter was sent to the Attorney General and Peak5 via certified mail. Yeterday, my mother received a notice for payment in the mail from Auto Portfolio Services.

I have no idea who this company is. I tried calling them last night (apparently it was after hours) and the recording on the ansering machine sounded as if I reached someones home, youknow the old analog machines that have static for the background noise. Today I tried to call again at 9:30 and it just rang.

I am extremely skeptical as to who this is. They are wanting a double payment. The invoice is dated 7/30/09, due date is 7/15/09. Who are they? If they are legit, it is one heck of a way to introduce themselves. If they did buy the account from Peak5, why are they not set up to take other methods of payments (as it states on the bottom of the "payment" notice).

Has any body else make contact with this company?

Do NOT do business with Auto Portfolio. These are nasty predatory lenders. A friend who got a car title loan for $1600, ended up having to pay them over $3100 to get her car back. She made payments...but they charged her $990.00 in interest for 6 months. These people need to be stopped. They take advantage of people that are in a hurting financial situation.

I check with DMV to find out who the lien holder was on my car and it is Meadow Credit Union. When I contact them to find out how to make my payments the young lady name ANNIE stated I needed to call Auto Portfolio. I told her that her company was the lien holder why would I contact auto portfolio and she stated that she was told just to tell me who the call. I further asked her who she was with and she said that they were the ones that came me the loan in the beginning when the paperwork stated Centrix. I asked why their name wasn't on any paperwork she stated again she was only to tell me who to call. I think we are getting screwed and I am not sending money to someone that is assamed to tell me who they really are. I am going to contack the BBB and the FTC.

I have never been so mad in my life! What is going on with these people? I have tried since July 17, 2009 to make my payment. I was never notified about Peak5 closing. I searched for 2 days trying to find where to make my payment. I read on the internet to call Auto Portfolio. Have called several times, oh they are very nice. Said they have my account and I should receive "a welcome package" in the mail within a week. After 3 weeks I finally received a bill saying I owe 2 payments. My Aug payment isn't even due yet, but they want my July and Aug payment now. When I called them, they were still very nice. Wanted me to make the 2 payments over the phone by check or debit card. When I told then I would call them back later to make a payment, then they got nasty. The woman "Holly" had the nerve to tell me I had been contacted by Auto Portfolio several times to tell me they had assumed my account from Peak5. I said "wait just a minute, you have never contacted me, I contacted you to find out if you had my account". Then she got really nasty and I hung up on her. My fear is if I don't make these 2 payments they are going to report it to the credit bureau as late payments and for 4 years I have never been late not even one day. I am in the processing of buying a house and I don't want this on my credit report as late payments. I don't know what to do. I found out this morning I should contact the FTC about this. But again my question is, if this shows up on my credit report, do I have any recourse with these people? I could pay both payments, but I'm not sure these people are on the up and up and how do I know for sure this is all true. I have read a report from one lady saying she just wants her title because she paid off her car and they are telling her they don't have it. Is that going to happen to me because my load will be paid off so and I don't want the hassle of trying to fight for the title to my car.

My advice to everyone is to contact the Federal Trade Commission prior to sending any money to verify who this company is. The phone number to the FTC is [protected]. I am sure Auto Portfolio Service is all in the same company as Centrix & Peak 5. I will not send money until I verify who this company is and that they are legally allowed to collect my money and that they have access to my title.

My payment was due on 8/6/09 and when I tried to pay it over the phone I just got a busy signal. I sent a payment online through my bank that shows a payment date of 8/11/09. I got a letter today from Auto Portfolio Services telling me that my loan was transfered from Peak 5 to them and that I could only mail my payment for now. I tried to cancel my payment from my bank and it is too late. So I tried to call "APS" and it just rang and rang. Today is 8/7/09 1:34pm. I'm not sure what to do now. I have been trying to make my payment to peak 5 since 07/15/2009 and i found out that they have closed. I do not know who my lienholder is and have paid to much money to this company for them just to drop me. I will not give personal information to anyone until i received something in the mail stating that they have bought my account.
