It is not difficult to question the integrity of the company simply by googling "Australian Wine Index Scam" amidst a growing list of high profile fraud cases happening in Singapore such as Assets Wine Management(AWM), Universal Asset Group (UAG), which has left thousands of investors stranded. Australian Wine Index executed a very clever investment scam usually comprising of three stages. Stage one involves targetting the greed. This is done through enticing unwitting buyer into committing large sum of money into buying wines, promising exaggerated yield and guaranteed returns in 3 years time. Unknown to buyers, these wine were sold at way above market price. The company will then prey on the investor's impatience to wait 3 years for maturity by scamming them the second time. This involves tricking the buyer into buying more wines usually with claims that these wines takes less than a year to sell as compared to the earlier ones. The tactic has successfully created thousands of small investors holding on to tiny portfolios of 1 or 2 wines with no way of exit which is naturally so, given that the wines were bought way above market. Final phase of the "Triple Whammy" involves fear. The fear of losing an opportunity to exit. The shanghai auction completes the hat-trick in scamming investors a third time into parting with their money for fear of not be given a chance to enter for the auction.

I did initially, then came down in lift, thought better of it and went back to take the cash back. I could no reconcile the refusal to let me view my wine at no risk to AWI to prove their intentions. It is not my side that has consistently behaved uncommercially and with scant regard for customers. I do not have to part with more cash to show my integrity in a transaction the onus is on AWI to prove it's true intentiona nd integity before any more cash changes hands. All it requires is an email to the storage facility by AWI to authorise a strictly viewing only, which has no risk to AWI, and then I can pay for delivery - to refuse this does not make any sense and hence the trust remains broken.
My advice, for what it's worth, ...
* * * DO NOT part with ANY CASH till you KNOW you have seen with your own eyes the wines at the storage facility and have it confirmed they are yours and can extract them. Even then, AWI should send a notice email to the storage facility authorising you to settle the storage bill directly with the storage facility on behalf of AWI and then you extract your wines. I would advise to short circuit the transaction by essentially removing AWI. If you pay AWI, I strongly doubt any payment will make it to the storage facility to release your product. I suspect AWI will keep any payment and still intend to default on the storage facility by claiming bankruptcy.
I would like to think I am wrong and I can trust them, but history dictates otherwise. Their turn to PROVE their honesty, not ours. Good Luck!

I have been in ecalating communication with Alvin Lim to pay him cash and then eventually see my wine at CWT. He has been desperate to get whatever cash from me and offers to replace wine he calims he has found out Mata has stollen and waive some fees etc if i part with cash. Visited his office this morning and almost parted with sgd 1k, but did not. My proposal to him is rhat if he is honest and has integrity, he authorises my vist to CWT to see my wines. Once they are accounted for i pay the storage and withdraw them. Alvin refuses to issue such an authorisation, even woth no risk to him, untill i pay him cash. No deal. I see wines first. I like to trust, but this has a strong scent, ...

Hi all
I am one of the unfortunate in this scam as well, need some answers urgently as i went down to ITRA and was asked to join some realty assets stuff.
Questions
1. Are our wine still at CWT? i do not have any password or ID to login CWT website to find out more, tried email no reply
2. If we take our wine out, are we liable to pay for GST and customs duties?
3. Other than ITRA, what other options do you guys have?

Sincerely in need of help over here

Hi all
so, anyone file legal civil case against AWI or contacted this JW Vickery? Am in a lost what to do next. AWI actually insisted us to pay the storage fees of 2k+ in order to move the wine out from CWT (under their property now and they didn't even inform investor?) instead of individual investor name. We paid for the wine but they are never our property now? What a scam company.

I can't believe that I received an email from Australian Wine Index threatening to repossess my wine investment in lieu of outstanding storage fees. It was an agreement between AWI Sales Manager a few years ago and myself to deduct any storage cost from the sales of the invested wine. This is an attempt by AWI to get more money from the investors again? Have anyone receive such letters?

I was another 'naive' victim who buy in to their hard selling. Luckily, did not put in so much $ as most of you. Nonetheless, money is money. Signed an agreement with "Mark Herd" in Oct'15 that the company will pay me 18% quarterly for a year. Nothing has happened after that day. Now, he is nowhere to be contacted. Recalled Alvin called me on several occasions in 2015, offering me a few options. I told him that I wanted to terminate everything and get my money out. He started rambling on something that totally gibeerish to me. I am going to lodge a police report and complaints to MAS. Perhaps, if we can rally enough signature or complaints, the authority will look into it. Can someone advise what else can we do to recoup our loss? ... upperroom2000@gmail.com

Why sign wine exchange form and end up with more wine that you can't sell? Just ask for cash refund and go CASE to make a report on your missing wine.

The strange part is even after 8-10 yrs they still can't sell ur wines, even we are willing to suffer 30% or 50% loss. They can only offer exculsive membership or trading contract for a hight fee to prioritize ur wine sale but nothing much was done or trade your wine to something else which also have way to determine the value. So Alvin, what r u trying to show?

First of all I have not post any threatening msg or I seen any threatening here but if u deem is threatening, u may well go make police report. U should reflect on why all unhappy client gave u such hiostle respond. I see same old story here like Guillianno, saying he could have let Menlo cease the wine instead of saving them, what brave act. Should we worship u like gods or super hero?

Why client here is so angry becos a lot of my members in my group got NO respond from u, Alvin Lim. No reply from email or no one pick up the phone. Well done!

Hello,  my name is Michael Hadley.
I am a Singapore citizen with over 20 years experience in the international wine market.

I have successfully helped many other frustrated AWI/TBW investors in exiting their investment as gracefully as possible.

I can help you sell your ENTIRE collection at a very competitive price.
My buyers will not cherry pick your collection and make offers only on the best wines.

AWI and TBW will only offer you 5% of your initial investment price. That’s S$5.00 of every S$100 invested !.

Local SG buyers only make offers on the wines they can clear immediately and make a quick buck.

Selling the jewels of your portfolio leaves you with the wines that are hard to sell in any market and will devalue your investment even further.
Worse yet, you will still be paying storage charges on those remaining wines.

Do not consider selling any portion of your current wine portfolio BEFORE contacting me.
I have international buyers that will make offers to purchase your entire collection allowing you
a full exit from your investment.
• NO GST and Duty payable by you
• NO additional storage fees
• NO long term storage contracts
• NO up front fees
• NO affiliation with AWI or The Bottled Wealth Holdings group in any way
• References and contact details of satisfied clients upon request
• Never loose ownership and control of your wine assets
• I act independently on behalf of my clients; you the owner of the wine.
I emphasize; do not sell any portion of your current investment BEFORE contacting me.

If you currently have an account with AWI or Bottle Wealth Holdings (TBW) . . . . . .
BEWARE; your wines are NOT in your possession contrary to what they, or your contract, will read.

Contractually YOUR wines are the property of AWI/TBW in the eyes of the storage company!
You and your AWI account are not recognized by the storage company as the rightful owner.

If you are looking for a way out of the current investment please contact me.

hi there, last month i had been approached by this XBI people, and offer free bottle of wine & Isetan voucher RM50. Actually when they call me, I'm quite interested on the wine investment & agreed to meet up, only then I know they offer a free bottle of wine upon to attend their presentation. As time to meet up they had changed their strategy by said they out of wine bottle instead they give me a piece of letter & ask me to to claim back once after they got stock. While I attended almost three hours presentation by one of the mat salleh or "gui low" tried to pursued me to sign up their investment profolio but I didnt sign up because there really some thing wrong with the investment portfolio so I rejected to invest. So I went back while waiting their call for the free wine & voucher, so disappointing when I try to call their contact number none of the number work or hardly anyone to pick up then I only realized it's a scam. Now the scam had expand to Penang, because today I again received their call and this time the presentation is at Penang, surprisingly they dont know I been through their presentation, right after they know it then this Indian gal give excused that there is a mistake and they said ask me wait for their KL branch call. While I can said Im lucky because I did not fall into their trap, otherwise if I too greedy enough to fall in their scam. Hope our authority can take immediate action against related company to avoid more people become victim. Here are their latest contact number & address

No surprises, the ITRA is not about helping cheated investors file class action claims, it is more about getting you to buy into yet another harebrained scheme.

I also got a call from the group in Ngee Ann City, was supposed to have a "consultation" on Friday, went down and they were "so busy with an earlier consultation that over ran" that they fixed another "consultation" today (Wed, Oct 27). My 'nonsense' radar is sounding high alert, but will go down anyway to let them waste my time a little. I'll describe my experience in a subsequent post.

I have invested with bordeauxliquidgold.com in nov 2012 and their salesperson Mandy then mentioned exaggerated returns in 3 years time. During this period of time, Mandy left the company and several salesperson from bordeauxliquidgold called to convince me to buy few more batches or wine.Same scam like australian wine index. When I asked about my current portfolio, they refuse to provide any answers. I got a shock when at end of sept 2015, they told me my portfolio is worth less than 50% of my purchase price and they still want to charge 10% commission of the selling price. Is there anything I can do for my case?
