This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

ATT representative said that after I ordered high speed internet service I could log in to ATT reward center after September 2nd 2008 to claim the $50 cash back rebate. I waited until September 2nd and logged in to find out the site said simply my reward had expired. BOGUS BOGUS BOGUS and a FRAUD from A T and T!

I'm a very disappointed customer. Again like so many others I was told I would receive a $100 rebate on my high speed motem I've called and called and they told me I haven't give it enough time now since its been 8 weeks I call today and Cory one of there representatives tells me that the only way I can get that rebate is if I had ordered in the store (and not on phone) like I did and had to sign a 2 year contract. I explaind to Cory again that this was a motem NOT a phone. I'm livid and I will be calling back and speaking to a supervisor they will be sick of hearing from me but tend to think its a big lie to get people to sign up with them and then deliver poor service.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. My address was listed wrong so my $300 rebate got sent back. I called the rewards department and hit zero and got right through to an operator which then changed my info and got it mailed out. I haven't received it yet, but I'm not ### like the people getting $50 rebates. You should be happy you're getting anything back.

Oh the stories I could tell you about AT&T's customer service, or lack thereof. I was on the phone 2-3 hours at a time for a good 5 days altogether. They must train these people in a robot factory. They couldn't get anything right and I just kept getting transferred from one to the other...passing the buck, so to speak. I have complained about this so called customer service to no avail. I had one girl yesterday refuse to let me speak to a supervisor. She kept insisting that I had to talk to the customer service reps again, after being transferred 6 times already, when all they did was transferred me to her, who worked in Accounts receivable. She was a complete and total ###! NONE of them know their butts from a hole in the ground. And that's not to mention the rewards fiasco that I dealt with last year. Don't get me started on that one. They still owe me $150. I finally got tired of the promises to fix the problem and gave up on it. I do know that if my problem isn't resolved soon with the billing department and my new service with U-verse, I will have them to come and disconnect ALL of it, including the phone, and go to Comcast! Enough is enough with these idiots!

I have spent many, many hours on the phone trying to get service problems corrected. No one at AT & T can fix problems because they are all robots just stating the same things over and over. I have my rewards gift cards and I am following the directions ON THE CARDS to activate them and the recoding says that I am not entering enough numbers. This company has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. You have to resolve everything yourself online or else you are out of luck. This is very frustrating.

I signed up in November 2009 and was told i would receive up to $300.(true). I can see redeemed rewards on website but they have yet to arrive in my mailb ox. I have been patient as hell and nice to reps on phone. But were going on 90 days now.

I called 5 times and finally they put a $50 credit on my bill. IT"S a BIG TIME SCAM and I'm calling it in to CNN and anyone else that will listen.

FOr the lame brains who think you should sign up for ATT because of the rebate...SHUT UP. Im making deals just like they are and they 're the one's reneging.

This is the same kinda of BS that our country has seen on wall street. BS young turks with no ethics and they think theyre great.

When called up and got my service iIwas told by the very polite man that all i had to do is have it on for 30 days then i could cancel and still get my reward one for $100 for tv u450 package and one for $200 unlimited voice. but of course i come to find out that i must have it on for 30 days just to START REDEMPTION PROCESS AND I MUST HAVE THE SERVICE ON WHILE THEY PROCESS IT WHICH IS ANOTHER 4-6 WEEKS! iI was completely decived by at@t.

You know what they told me after i told them they deceived me? The woman said that is why we get it in writing. UNBELIEVABLE! AT@T SCAM ARTIST!

I am having issues with them also. I registered for my rewards and all of a sudden they came up as disqualified for no apparent reason. Has anyone tried going through the Better Business Bureau to get a resolution? You can submit a complaint online and if they don't resolve it, it goes against their record and lowers their rating.

I just got off the phone with at&t rep, Kathy Thompson and supervisor Felicia Edwards. I was promised $100 rebate for internet service. Spoke to 3 different reps and they assured me it was taken care of, THAT WAS A LIE. Now they say they will not honor it because of name change. Doesn't matter that they honored the $50 rebate and I verified this was okay about the name change. On the phone 3 hours for them to give me some BS. Just reading all the complaints regarding this same rebate leads me to believe that it is a scam. My next letter will be to BBB and the president of AT&T.

I too was entitled to an internet sign up reward of $200. Being a patient person I called and was told that the time had expired for claiming it. Interestingly, when I signed up for the U-verse package the understanding was that it would take 6 to 8 weeks to process. Now, they tell me there was no way to claim it, however they would issue me $100 and to check with the rewards center. I did and can't even get on the "Rewards" center. A customer care rep did give me a $100 credit. Yes, the promotion is a scam worthy of reporting to your state Attorney General's office, the BBB, the Federal Trade Commission and any other enforcement and regulatory agency you can think of. I WILL get my other hundred bucks.

They cancel the original online bundle orders (my referral) and then rebuild the work order for the customer there by nullifying the original order claim that they have no record of the original order being placed, yet they have the contact info to change and screw not only you out of the referral bonus but the customer you referred as well by not honoring the original online package deal, instead, rebuilding the work order separately and therefor charging more for the separate services.
This happens only after many hours on the phone speaking with someone the doesn't clearly speak English!
"Sorry for the confusion" is their only response. Please pays us the amount we ask, no more questions please.
And for your referral, you are out of luck! No sign up bonus, No bonus for switching internet providers... Oh yeah, and please pay us a month in advance! (with perfect credit)

AT&T Reward Center "Customer Service?" When you have an issue regarding your rebate. What they will do is transfer you with as many representatives and specialist they can think of. Once you get really frustrated and tell them off, they will give you the "right number" in which it was the first number(representative) you just called(talked) to. And what he will say is that they can't do anything to help you-- arrgh! The reason why I'm venting about this is because I was estimated to get my $50 VISA card around the last week of May. I never got it, so the first time I called them to find out. They just gave me the website to the reward center to check the status of my rebate. I did, it said that was being processed. It's almost August and decide to call them again, their response was that my VISA card was activated on May 7th and it has a balance of $1.16. I told them I never got it and am the only one who gets the mail--It couldn't be stolen!
I was mislead by them because of their offer of $50 back to have my ISP from them. I won't get nothing. They should just send a rebate check to make things simpler.

I was also promised rebates and never got them. This is definitely a scam. They say they will give you a refund for switching then they do nothing to make sure you get it. I went online several times as they directed to get my refund and EVERY time it said my account was not "in their records." I called and they said that they didn't have my account number on file-the one that was on the bill they sent me! Unbelievable.

I would love to know what percentage of people who were promised a refund actually got it. If that number is high, and I suspect it is, then a class action suit is in order. I just don't know how to get that data? Any suggestions?

****TAKE NOTICE****
obtaining your rewards really is simple.
step 1 - make sure you read the terms and conditions of the rewards thoroughly.
step 2 - keep in mind that the terms and conditions include details about order method... for example... ordering uverse U200 or higher television with the Pro speed of internet through the at&t web store qualifies you for a $200 cash back reward. placing this same order over the phone only qualifies you for a $100 cash back.
step 3 - at&t sales representatives often are not fully certain of the rewards details, so, should you order over the phone, ask the representative to do a 3-way conference call with the reward canter to verify the details of which rewards you would qualify for. If you are ordering at a store simply have the representative call the reward center.
step 4 - after your service(s) associated with the rewards have been installed for a full 30 days log onto the website att.com/rewardcenter and redeem your rewards. If the amount seems incorrect do not proceed with the redemption process, simply call in to the reward center and explain the situation. ****Should you have to call in to the reward center to have them clarify or adjust anything it would be best to have some important info available such as your order date, installation date, and service details(internet speed, t.v. package). The reward center works off of a different database with accounts solely based upon rewards that are in the system under your home phone number/ban number. **** If you do not have this information available simply call your local at&t billing department and have them do a conference call with the reward center to assist you with getting your rewards account set up best.
step 5 - Most important of all is to treat the representatives with courtesy and respect. They work in a very high stress environment with great limitations. Before you call in yelling and screaming at them because another at&t representative inadvertently misled you, think about how it would feel to have to deal with such attitudes all day long while trying to help people that will not listen just to provide for your own family. They are trying to help, and though their pace may seem pushy it is simply an attempt to be efficient and help all of the large number of daily callers in a timely manner. A little bit of patience and some active listening goes a long way.

You all are scaring me. I have recently signed up for the wireless dsl in which I was told I would recieve a 79.00 mail in rebate included in the box which it was not. I was also promised a $50.00 cash back & also becuase I have ATT phone I could recieve an extra $75.00 for a total of $125.00. Now after reading the paperwork I see that it says the mail in rebate will be sent by postal mail. I signed on to the rewards center and the only think showing is my $75.00 which I clicked to redeem so I could at least get the ball rollin gon that. I completed my transaction thru on-line chat and I printed the whole conversation so I have proof of what was offered. I also don't like the fact that cash back is really not cash back but a Visa gift card. I'm not getting excited yet since I just signed up last week but I really think it is b.s. all the hoops you have to go through as a way for a company to hope they will not have to pay out. So far I am happy with my internet service & if I at least get my $75.00 that will atleast cover the Gateway Modem cost, I just really want what was promised though.

What makes you think I yelled and screamed at ANYONE? I did not! You are rude and rather stupid to post such a response to my comment. You didn't really say "Why would you switch services just to get money in the first place? If you cant afford the service then dont call the reward center ### about getting money to pay your bills. " did you? Please don't tell me you represent AT&T and/or the Rewards Center with a comment such as this! As to the "customer service rep not putting in the correct codes" -- duh, I rest my case! No kidding -- I KNOW who promised me something -- AT&T Reps, whether they worked for the man in the moon or the Reward Center. The point is that the company is not standing behind their promises OR what their employees say to the customers -- sales, rewards, etc.! You also have a foul mouth and are rather classless.

Why would you switch services just to get money in the first place? If you cant afford the service then dont call the reward center ### about getting money to pay your bills. the reward center doesnt offer a supervisor because they are not allowed to, you have to ask for one for one to be provided to you to speak with. And while I am at this, at the reward center they dont promise you anything that is the rep whom you purchased service from, all they do is redeem rewards as well as add them in when the customer service reps screw up. So cut the reward center a little slack, all they do is every reward per terms and conditions set forth by AT&T. They get treated like ### and talked to like crap when they are not the ones offering you jack ###.

Hiya, I filed this last week under a different heading. Just let me add -- that I've yet to receive the $50 rebate (THE $125 PROMISE NEVER MATERIALIZED)and neither of my $75 CREDITS have been applied. LIE AFTER LIE AFTER LIE FROM AT&T. HERE'S MY ORIGINAL COMPLAINT:
WARNING! DO NOT CHANGE YOUR INTERNET SERVICE TO AT&T AND THINK YOU WILL GET THE $125 REBATE THAT WAS PROMISED! I changed my service from Comcast on March 3, 2009, primarily for the purpose of the $125 rebate. I did all of the dirty work (crawling around under desks and tables to unplug the old and plug in the new wires, etc.). I was told by AT&T personnel at the time I placed my order that, not only would I get the $125 rebate, but I would get an additional $50, plus a $50 gift card for the change in internet service and other bundling additions. I got the $50 gift card last week. When I checked the Rewards center, I saw a $50 rebate listed, but nothing about the $125! I spent over 2 hours on the phone yesterday -- a beautiful Saturday afternoon -- to be transferred time after time and be told time after time -- that they could not "STACK" the Rewards! HUH? STACK? First of all, I changed because of the $125. Period. The additional rewards were told to me and I was unaware of them. EVEN IF what they say is the case (which was never disclosed), would not a reasonable person expect to receive the largest reward over the smallest? I was livid! I will be switching my service back after this is taken care of. I will NEVER trust AT&T again as they do not stand behind the promises made by their sales folks nor their written propaganda that is mailed! Seems to me that this should be a federal offense to use the mail system to send fraudulent material! In any event, I was eventually told they would credit my phone bill $75 (only after I asked to speak to a supervisor after being told the customer service clerk could do nothing, and never offered me the opportunity to go to someone who could -- until it was I that specifically asked to speak to the supervisor). I, of course, accepted the gesture, but I am not happy as I was totally SCAMMED into thinking I was getting the $125 reward for switching my Internet Service. LIES, LIES, LIES -- SHAME ON YOU, YET AGAIN, AT&T. Somewhere on another blog, it was suggested that a class action suit should be filed and I am all for it. Sign me up!

I agree, I just signed up for service in March 2009. I was told that if I ordered on-line that i would reciieve $50 cash back, a visa gift card and a mail-in rebate for the wireless Gateway of $79.99. So far, I've only recieved the $50 cash back in thr form of a check. I nenver recieved confirmation of the "rebates". I calledd AT&T several times only to be on hold for up 30 minutes, transferred around and back to where I started. The few answers I got were to check on-line or wait "a few more" weeks. Does some one out there know if a class action law suit can be done?

When I signed up for Uverse I was told I was getting $200 cash back. When I got the rewards info it said $100. Then I kept going to the rewards page and checked to see if it was ready to redeem yet and I entered my phone #, it said no info available... After it had already expired I found out that you have to give your account # to check status. The rewards homepage gives you the CHOICE of phone #, account # and something else. Anyways, the cs agent reinstated my first one for $100 and then patched me though to a specialist for the other $100 ($200 total, as I was promised). The special seemed more than happy to take care of that for me and said I should check for it in 7 days. So today, being day 7, I check for the status and it says I am only getting a $40 check?!?! So again, looks like I'm going to have to call them and see what the issue is. I guess all companys are like this when it comes to rebates, you have to work for them...

I called ATT about a question. Then they told me I could get ultra internet, phone service with all the extra features including free long distance, and satellite tv for 64.99. Four times I asked the rep is for everything except taxes? "yes" she always said. Well guess what, a week later going online I found out it was going to be nearly 100.00 for just basic phone, internet, and satellite, without taxes. I contacted by phone and sent a letter to get my 480.00 early cancellation fee waived but they said no. So Im stuck. I was lied to by the sales rep and the installer. And Im furious. Now I read about these rewards problems, mine is not showing up anywhere for 125.00. I think with all these complaints we ought to take these complaints to better business bureau or some higher authority. It is very bad when a company such as ATT pulls such stunts.

I just got off the phone with the rewards center and guess what...they wasn't much of a help. I have been waiting on my $50 rebate since November 08. I called on 12/2/08 to confirm if they had my new address and the rep stated they did. In the mean time I checked the status of it on the net and it should shipped 12/9/08. So I figured I would give it a couple of weeks. By 1/8/09 I calld back to inform I never rcvd a chk. The rep read me my old address (meaning that it was never changed to begin with) so from that point she clearly stated it would be updated and another check will be sent. Well i called today and guess what I spoke to 2 reps that told me it had been cashed on 1/17/09 and that "IIIIIII" had spoke to someone about it being cashed and they were sending me a copy. Well guess what...if my address was never updated until the beginning of jan, then the chk was sent to the incorrect addr. CLEARLY AFTER THE PURPOSE OF MY 1ST CALL WAS TO CONFIRM THAT THE ADDR WAS CORRECT! The 1st rep was very helpful...the 2nd rep was very rude! Gosh I wish I could remeber his name. It all came down to me speaking to his supervisor who stated they are not responsible for lost/stolen chks...which i truly understand. Her name is WENDY from the ILLINIOS reward site. I told wendy that I will be filing a complaint b/c I don't feel it was my fault they sent it to the incorrect addr. Wendy basically told me OH WELL there's nothing they can do. I asked her what was her manager's name and could I speak to them. Guess what she told me...she can't give that info and they do not take calls. Now what kinda customer service is that. i am a customer service supervisor and i be d*** if we told our customers that. My a** would be through! I really needed to vent after that call.

okay here's a couple pointers for getting your rewards. 30 days after you have active service is when you can get them. i know sales reps will tell you it's in the mail. it's not in the mail and you do have to wait 30 days before you request it. if you don't request it you wont get it. after you wait your 30 days you can go to the website att.com/rewardcenter or call. if you go to the website don't search for it or you wont find it put it in the acual address bar. if you have a uverse account you must put in ur account number or you wont be able to pull up you rewards, it's a 9 diget number starting with 100, 101, 102. and you must wait 4-6 wks for the rewards, cks come in about 3 gc will take 6wks. and with using those you have to use as credit, you can't use as a gas pump and if ur trying to buy something for more then you have on the card you must pay the difference first. and if you ever need to call the reward center make sure you know when you ordered and what rewards you were promised, and no they can't see your account so they don't know what you have. and if you are promised a 125 cable switch be careful, the sells reps are putting people in for the 50 cash back for the dsl instead of the 125 and if the 50 gets put in it makes you uneligible for the 125. hope this helps

It appears you have received MANY complaints about your
promises for rebates. This tells me you either don't care about
what was promised to your new customers and something
is lacking with your system, from the rep who comes to your
house to your rebate services. I would like to hear from you
and be confinced that you are not giving this poor a service.

I was told by the AT&T representative who came to my door
seeking to sell me your service. After quite a lenghtly conversation, I agreed to subscribe to your service for ATT UVerse service. I was told I'd received a refund after 30 days.
She asssured me this was correct. I only received your mail
today giving me the email address to apply. Then it told me
it would take another 4 - 6 weeks to receive checks ($100 for
each claim). It appears that your representatives tell you anything to get you to cancel the service you have, in my
case Time-Warner. I wonder how many other incorrect things
I was told in order to get my service switched to AT&T. I would
appreciate my checks ($100 @) be sent as rapidly as possible
as I have to pay the penalty fee to Time-Warner. Please don't
disappoint me with your service and responce. I would like to
feel that AT&T is not in the rip-off business. Thank you.

They think the jokes on me

They made several mistakes, connecting me to internet. Saying my modem might be bad. Mr. Johnson, said if I would go ahead with my order, that I would not be charged for modem of $75.00. Another lady told me to wait for card to come in mail and I would still get a $50reward for joining att.net.
I expect both on my bill this month. My internet was not hooked up till the 12th, and was suppose to be on the 7th. I don't want to be charged for those five days, I don't want to be charged for the modem as I was told by Mr. Johnson, and I want my reward told to me by the lady. Please do as att affiliates told me.
I've have trouble with this phone number since putting it in a few months back. I have been a customer of bell south, now att over fifty years.
Thank you
